WASHINGTON (AFP) - Top Republican 2008 White House hopefuls on Sunday reserved the right to launch US strikes against Al-Qaeda in Pakistan, and insisted on victory in Iraq, in a feisty fourth televised debate.

So essentially they are saying exactly the same thing Obama said last week... put more pressure on Pakistan's government, reserve the right to act on actionable intelligence if Pakistan won't, as a last resort.

The stench of hypocrisy is overpowering.

The stench of hypocrisy is overpowering

It's what passes for perfume in the GOPiggy sty.

So essentially they are saying exactly the same thing Obama said last week.

Maybe so...but "Jane Fonda Obama" isn't credible when he says it.

"Jane Fonda Obama"?

"Jane Fonda Obama"?

I came up with that from this quote by Romney:

""I mean, in one week he (Obama) went from saying he's going to sit down, you know, for tea, with our enemies, but then he's going to bomb our allies," said Romney. "I mean, he's gone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in one week."

"Jane Fonda Obama"

It comes from Willard Romney's moronoic, "He's gone from Jane Fonda to Dr. Strangelove in one week." (
www.dailyherald.com) It's kind of like GOPiggy deflections about Clinton, but the reference is much older and much, much lamer. Unless, of course, Willard was referring to her religon: Christianity. I'm not sure what Dr. Strangelove's religion was, though. Or maybe he meant "Fonda" to refer to being in shape and "Strangelove" as a reference to someone confined to a wheelchair. What an insentive thing to say!

My guess---and Bowa, et. al., note that I said "guess"---is that they'd really like to call him an "Uppity Knee-Grow," but that's so far beyond the pale (so to speak) that even the lowliest of swift boaters dare not let it escape their lips.

Good, then I will properly credit Romney with being an idiot and not pile that on to Bowa's already embarrassing arugula moment.

Neo's like Romney don't do cultural mixed-metaphors well. It comes from their insistence on viewing the world from the narrow folds of their stock portfolios. It's why Dennis Miller isn't funny anymore. And water carriers like Boo Boo just monkey-see, monkey-do the talking points in the vain hope that their unswerving loyalty to party over country might pass as intellectual acumen.

Bowa is having another moment today - Jane Fonda Obama LOL BOWA

But then he excels at making up names.

The Republicans love to try to confuse Americans into believing that opposition to the Iraq war is synonymous to being soft on terrorists. Quite the opposite is true and it is likely that anyone other than a neocon, looking for an excuse to invade Iraq, would have gotten Bin Laden in Afghanistan. Had we not diverted troops and resources to Iraq we could have concentrated on Afghanistan and probably have caught or killed Bin Laden. So it really comes down to...Bush is soft on terrorism. The other REpublicans ought to call him on that but they won't.

Yeah that what we need...MORE WAR!

Go Rethugs wave that flag!

Some folks are born
made to wave the flag,
Ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief",
they point the cannon right at you.

It ain't me,
it ain't me.
I ain't no senator's son.
It ain't me,
it ain't me.
I ain't no fortunate one.

Mitt Is So Full Of Shit !!!

Oh They All Would Attack Terrorist In Any Country No Matter What, But When Obama Says It It Becomes A Joke And Not Valid When Each An Everyone Said They Would Do The Same Exact Thing !!

Mitt Is A Super Flip Flopping Hypocrite !

-SARGE

I am so sick and tired of these A**holes, whos mantra "IF WE DON"T FIGHT THEM THERE WE WILL HAVE TO FIGHT THEN HERE". Wake up clowns these people for the most part have donkeys to take them from mountain top to mountain top. If these Republicians truly believe this they should go to every college campus in this country in every state and get these College Republicians to join the military service. Like there leaders Bush, and Cheney these college students sure seem to ha ve manys reasons why they are unable to serve. Gutless BASTARDS!!!!!!!

SARGE!!!!!

Hi sweetie!!

I missed you!!

These one-trick ponies trot out their routines day after day hoping to replace the broken-down old hack on his way to the glue factory. Global war on terror. Neigh. Over there, not over here. Whinny. Terror alert, terror alert!! Snort.

Horse's asses, all of them.

""Maybe so...but "Jane Fonda Obama" isn't credible when he says it.""

And just why are the Republicans somehow credible?
Because they agree with you?
Jane Fonda Obama; watch folks, Karl Rove is working here.

The War on Terror CANNOT be "won." It is not a war against a nation. Attacking any nation where terrorists are declared to be by US, regardless of the area's national soverignty rights, undermines the rights of all nations and exposes us to worldwide hatred and denunciation as a meddling, warlike power.

As much as it would be great to simple "fix" the problem somehow, the reality is that ALL WE CAN DO is to try to secure ourselves against possible future attacks, and consider them another type of disaster. A man-made disaster, but a disaster; an infrequent occurrence that you have little chance of ever experiencing. The enormous amounts of money and blood being wasted to supposedly prevent these attacks actually makes the situation worse by inspiring more finatical people to hate us. Plus, the continual drumbeat for war and spying powers to find the terrorists makes the United States a far lesser nation which is selling out is own principles of freedom. Indeed, it seems freedom may be replaced with war against the entire middle east, perhaps even a nuclear war that WE BEGIN. We could perhaps conquer the Midle East like we did Iraq, but we can NEVER hold, nor should we ever want to hold it. The other alternative, nuking populated areas in the Middle East like Tancredo suggested, is sheere madness. There is no imminent threat anywhere near worthy of unleshing a nuclear attack and bringing that scourge back into this world. Peace is the only hope; endless war is the other alternative.

Some things bear repeating. That sure did.

republicans had a debate.......who would have known.

I have yet to hear a single one, must be one of those local debates so they can get softballs all day long.

Can't possibly actually answer questions from the hip and actually sound like they know something.

Hi Lisa !
How are you?

-Sarge

and so I watch all of the morning shows anyway on sunday but why hasnt there been a democrat debate on sunday morning......thats when the republicans are usually busy at church,so it would seem like a better time to have the dems debate at that time...........hhhhhhhmmmmmm
m

little georgie got a little shit from tancredo for not getting him into the debate enough, didnt he...

and you have it wrong anyway....what you were seeing were candidates who are not invested in defeat and therefore are able to do something other than sit around and hope for more death and destruction and bad news.....

and by the way........have any of you stalinists read any more reports about the surge working....I have....

and this congress that is going to save the republic.....I have been out of town lately...

how is that working out for you>?

you know boyd..........the congress without SEKULA-GIBBS....and the one with lampson....who was at the forefront of the democrat assault on the republicans right to vote on an issue.......

I have been out of town lately...how is that working out for you>?

Fair to middling.

Until just about now.

It ain't You?

How about this?

- If you suffer from a sudden diarrhea and the only place in town with an open public bathroom happens to be a polling place, you just might have become a Democrat voter!

- If after a hard day of lying on the sidewalk you see a well-spoken man who promises booze and smokes as long as you follow him to a wondrous place filled with them space alien time machine things and you go press yourself some buttons, you just might have become a Democrat voter!

- If you and your family had stopped voting Democrat out of disgust years ago, and your car just sank into a county road pothole, killing you and your family while the party registration remained active - you just might have become a Democrat voter, again!

- If you attend public school and believe the teacher's political ranting, you just might have become a Democrat Voter! or - If you're in a teacher's union and you just paid your monthly dues - you just might have contributed to the Democratic Party!

- If you believe that Rosie O'Donnell is hotter than Elizabeth Hasselbeck - you just might have become a Democrat voter!

- If you view the spreading of fecal matter onto canvas as a creative form of artistic expression and demand the government to fund such projects - you just might have become a Democrat voter!

- If your neighbor just got a new Porsche and you are so jealous that you decide that if you can't have one, no one can - you just might have become a Democrat voter!

ect...

It's nice to have the prof try to explain realpolitik to me. I fear that his essay would flunk the midterm in any freshman poli sci class.

But I'm really still trying to figure out what the Sarge said. Maybe some rightie can paraphrase it so the Rest Of Us share in the military wisdom. herm

Gee.. the media conveniently forgot to mention that Ron Paul opposes the war..

Question from Jill in Iowa "If you were the President, what would you do to end the war in Iraq"?

Ron Paul emphaticly stated in response to what we should do to "Just come home". To a round of loud applause..repeatedly

ABC was the host, Ron Paul slaughtered the other candidates in the ABC poll, even after ABC reset the counter for the poll that Paul was winning. Paul won the 8-5-07 Presidential debate
by a landslide with 64% of vote! Romney a distant second with 7.8% of vote!

Why are the media and Neocons so afraid of Ron Paul? Because he is a true American that favors you and me over the Military Industrial Complex

and if you try to dismiss the message saying that Paul has no chance, you are dismissing the idea of Democracy and freedoms that this country was founded on. the citizens of the US can have more power than the Trilateralists and CFR members, at least if you have the balls to stand up for your country.

Even the Democrats realize that they may have to fight. They just tell the nitwits on the left what they want them to hear. President Wilson was all for peace in November when running for office, and all for war by March, after having been sworn in as President in January. After the election all promises are off.

At these debates, the first question that should be asked of anyone, but particularly of those who support the war, is whether they have a close relative, son/daughter, niece/nephew, brother/sister, currently serving in the military and if so, are they serving in Iraq? While this would not be meant as a 'litmus test' or even an attempt to disqualify anyone, it would at least put into perspective whether their views are based on personal judgment or merely rhetorical, spoken for political effect with no conviction of character.

OCU

Burt-
"Let me tell you what else I'm worried about: I'm worried about an opponent who uses nation building and the military in the same sentence. See, our view of the military is for our military to be properly prepared to fight and win war and, therefore, prevent war from happening in the first place."
