"Democrats view Sen. Hillary Clinton as the party's candidate best positioned to win the general election"

Just goes to show once again that Democrats have no idea who can win a national election and who can not.

As much as I disagree with him on issues, Obama at least seems respectable and honest. If you're going to vote Democrat you should vote for him.

I see no good option with the front runners of either party. With no viable third party, this election is the Dems to lose. They are determined to do just that, lose. Why can't Richardson get any traction?

Live or Die-
For once, I agree with you. I'm tired of Clintons and Bushes.

"Why can't Richardson get any traction?"

Too smart, too sensible.

Clinton has a very good chance of winning the general election, mostly because the republican field is such a cluster fuck

Too true.

"Democrats view Sen. Hillary Clinton as the party's candidate best positioned to win the general election."

Be afraid.

Be very afraid.

Richardson, unfortunately has shown no sign of charisma.

I'd still go for an Obama/Richardson ticket.

Hillary in front, and the right rejoices

Former-
I've heard you like 'em that way. Kissing is soo gross!

In related news, for the GOP, the preferences are "none of the above" at 63%, "only if the guy holds a gun to my head" at 30%, "the nutjob" at 5% and Ron Paul at 2%.

"Clinton has a very good chance of winning the general election, mostly because the republican field is such a cluster fuck"

The general election doesn't take place until after the Republicans straighten their situation out. Just like it doesn't take place with Hillary running against Obama and Edwards.

The problem is that registered party members, or the biggest blind followers among us, are the ones who choose the major candidates.

i really think there should be a choice called

none of the above

and if none of the above wins

new election with new candidates

CHEKA

omg, I totally agree with something CHEKA posted. Start checking for 7 headed whatevers and keep the Republicans away from whores, babylonian or not.

The Bush/Clinton crime family have been controlling the political process since the shooting of Ronald Reagan. They tried to get George the first in the presidents seat a bit sooner but Reagan was tougher than they thought, and he lived. But after the assassination attempt Reagan went on a down hill slide from Alzheimer's decease, and Bushco took control.
Hillary is the next in line for Presidency and will take the reins for Bushco and world government.
After Hillary takes office you can expect another terror attack so that the war can be escalated into Iran. You can also expect more of your civil liberties to be trampled on, and who knows what other scary shit the New World Order has in store for us if we don't all wake up to it and start standing together.
The left, right, paradigm is a set up dynamic to keep the masses from uniting against the One World Government agenda that has been moving forward since George the first was in office.

A lot of Dems and Repubs agree on Hillary. They both think she's the Republicans only hope. I mean, seriously guys, just look at the Repub candidates. Whichever one of them gets through the Rethug base it will take a divisive figure like Hillary to give them any chance at all. Obama is such a logical choice, just as McCain was in 2000, that only our two major parties, full of activists with agendas, would choose against someone like him. Instead they choose someone like the divisive and stupid Bush or the divisive and unpopular Hillary.

BlueInBushland,
The Repubs are running strawmen against Hillary. She is next in line for the Bushco throne.
It is all part of the phony election dance tune that the American people are dancing to.

THE BUSH-CLINTON DYNASTY

A news item appeared in the Financial Times last Friday that received little notice. However, the hidden story behind this report is much deeper and more complex. The FT report stated: "John Mack, Morgan Stanley's chief executive, is to invite senior staff to a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton on Monday [yesterday], in a pointed endorsement of the Democratic presidential hopeful from an important backer of President George W. Bush in 2004
"Mr. Mack surprised many on Wall Street in the spring when he said he and his wife, Christy, would support Mrs. Clinton's 2008 bid."
John Mack is not the first Bush supporter to jump on the Hillary bandwagon. Neither will he be the last.

That wealthy and influential supporters of G.W. Bush are now supporting Hillary Clinton only surprises those who have not been paying attention. For the rest of us, this is merely par for the course.

The Bushes and Clintons go way back. They have been fast friends for decades. Only a closely guarded media cover up has hidden this fact from the general public.

After Obama recently endorsed sex ed to Kindergarteners, I'm happy to see him losing and would rather see Clinton take the white house then that piece of shit.

Obama just lost. See Rob's post.

Sex-ed to kindergartners. Hilarious.

The country is on the brink of total ruin, so why are the Bushes and the Clintons always laughing and slapping each other on the back?

There is something that is painfully obvious to me, that most Americans seem blissfully ignorant of. That something is simply this:

... .that two powerful families, who behave as if they are in the same family (Barbara calls Bill her "son" for example), have controlled the Whitehouse for the last quarter century (including Bush Sr's vice-presidency behind Reagan). And if Hillary is allowed to sit in power for two terms that will stretch their tag-team grip on the throat of this country to some three and a half decades. What then? Put another Bush in the Oval Office? Say ... Jeb?

I say, no way! Enough of this incredible open charade that is destroying our country incrementally and by design! Enough is enough. They have proven to us what slick treasonous robber-barrons they are. They are not here to serve America. They are here to serve themselves! While real patriots cry bitter tears watching their beloved republic being dragged through the dirt and going straight to hell, these scumbags are having a ball! Every time you turn on the boob-tube, you see them smirking and giggling, patting each other on the back, posing as our saviors. It is enough to make a true patriot sick to his stomach. They are disgusting! I have to tell you, it ties my guts in knots and I cannot stand to watch them up there preening and telling us what to do anymore. I have had it and I know more and more Americans are beginning to wake up out of this Right/Left dog-and-pony show because they are seeing just how evil and corrupt these elitist turds really are. It is time to put an end to the Bush-Clinton dictatorship.

Hillary and Rudy are the front runners because the American people (who you can never fool) are self-centered morons. Their stupidity is on account of laziness. Americans are lucky enough to live in a country with all these freedoms and most choose to let the elite (media, politicians, corporations, etc.) think for them. As an independent I am excited over the prospect of Rudy and Hillary running away with the nominations. They are such poor candidates that a 3rd party can finally turn over the apple cart.

A) Sex ed for kindergartners probably would not include a live demonstration of copulation, but a little elementary stuff on birds and bees. I'm for it.

B ) Anyone STILL in favor of None Of The Above, considering the almost limitless assemblage of people stepping foward a year and a half before the election, probably couldn't find anyone on the 100-choice California ballot that gave us Arnold either. Anyone who STILL c an ;t find a satisfactory choice probablh ought to step forwarf and run. herm

Jeff, there is no actual conspiracy being run by shadowy background figures using the Bushes and Clintons as frontmen. What there is a good argument for is the growth of an increasingly corrupt political system where money and privilege have flourished at the expense of the vast majority of the population.

I'm no historian but I think we've been there before. We had the robber barons and the Gilded Age before TR put it right to some extent. Since then we've had universal suffrage, The New Deal, The Great Society and Civil Rights to try and make this country more equal in reality as well as theory. Still a long way to go but like Hoover, Coolidge and Harding preceding FDR we now have another fuckup Republican President hopefully to be succeeded by another Democrat or decent Republican who can move us a bit further along towards what America is supposed to be.

At least, that's my hope and out of all our current choices I see Obama as the best chance for that. Doesn't mean that he will be more than marginally successful in combatting the entrenched power and money elites but in my opinion he's the best bet toreally address social inequalities and perhaps even redress some of them. God knows, we need to restore some balance after the eight years of corruption, cronyism, incompetence and sheer fucking stupidity of the Bush/Cheney regime that has turned back the clock on so many of our previous advances.

No conspiracy?
You better read the history.

On October 5, 1986 in Nicaragua, a CK123 Cargo plane, with weapons and CIA employees on board crashed. This was the beginning of what links what I am about to tell you together. This was the start of the Iran-Contra affair. It was proven that the weapons were supplied by the CIA and destined for the Nicaraguan Contras in of the Congressional Poland amendments. Special prosecutor Lawrence Walsh spent six years determining who in the Reagan administration was involved in the operation. Among those that were involved in this operation were George Bush, Oliver North, Dewey Clarridge, John Pointdexter and Caspar Weinberger.

However, lets go to Mena, Arkansas during this time. The training of pilots and loading of weapons and drugs was taking place. Who was the governor of Arkansas at the time and why is is that Kenneth Starr would not touch this area. That governor at the time is now our President.

In July 1994, in the Arkansas Crime Inc. paper, an editorial linked Clinton to Iran-Contra. In October, 1994 Clinton denied any knowledge of the operation at Mena. Shortly afterwards evidence started to surface that documented Clinton's link to Iran-Contra. People began coming forward and alleging under sworn statements that that Clinton profited from the operation at Mena by laundering money through the newly created Arkansas Development Finance Authority. That was just the tip of the iceberg regarding what was really going on at Mena. A larger number of people testified under oath that the airplanes returning from Central America were loaded with cocaine, which was then dropped over Arkansas for distribution to larger U.S. cities.

It is now July, 1996, Kenneth Starr begins asking questions about Mena. He follows the trail of facts, but suddenly announces that Mena is outside his brief and scope of just the Whitewater investigation of Clinton.

OK, Jeff, let's say you are right. I agree that Iran-Contra and the whole Nicaraguan thing stank to high heaven. Also the related San Jose Mercury News stories about the CIA dumping crack cocaine in the LA black community.

Say it's actually all true and say further that "guilt" can actually be proved against Bush 41, Clinton and a lot of the other people involved in Iran-Contra who have found their way into Bush 43's regime. It's better on a practical level to recognize that it happened, publicize it so that people can make up their own minds about the personalities involved, try to put what can be put right right, try our damnedest to make sure it doesn't happen again and move on. Much as we have with eugenics, the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiments, Agent Orange and will eventually with Depleted Uranium/Gulf War Syndrome, though everybody involved from the military and Bush 41, thru Clinton and Bush 43 is still in heavy denial about that.

We have enough problems with the blowback arising from what we did against Iran and Chile, Cuba, Venezuela and God knows who else in S. America in the past and Iraq in the present to be able to afford the luxury of wallowing in all of that as opposed to fixing it in as practical a way as possible.

Exactly,
That's why the Clintons and Bush's need to be kept out of politics for generations to come.

This is what Bush's contra cocaine has created.

I don't want to have a debate over whether or not Jeff is looney... BUT.. some consider a wholly corrupt political system a conspiracy. Its coming to the point where you could go as far as listing out what each and every member of congress costs to buy them out. The "shadowy" people would in fact be those who donate those sums of money, and those in between who act as "merchants" of the trade.

It should be asked, exactly what do you consider a conspiracy? Where does corruption end, and conspiracy begin? Don't they go hand in hand?

That's how brainwashed everyone has become. The word "conspiracy" has become the scarlet letter.
If someone even mentions a conspiracy they are labeled. Never mind trying to find out the truth. Just personally attack the person and give them a scarlet letter.
Its a lot easier that way.

If Hillary wins the dem nomination, then a bit of revival will begin among reps (republicans). Many fence-sitters will finally decide not to let Hillary laugh over them for four years.

That said, if Hillary wins the nomination, you can bet your boots, a Republican will be President for the next 8 years. (Time for those extreme libs to migrate to Canada or Europe; they threaten but so far I know of no one who migrated because of Bush's Presidency).

The next President will be a 'he', no matter who wins the nomination.

"The best man for the job is a woman!"(TM) - H. Clinton

It appears likely that Hillary Clinton will be the next president. Strange. I remember all those blustering Republicans swearing they would move out of the US if she ever were prez. But being hypocritical blowhards, I don't expect a single one of them to leave if she wins.
