Nothing wrong with reducing gas emissions. It's always a good thing to reduce gas that harms you. Not all gas is harmful though - water vapor is a green house gas. They also need to make the goal reasonable.

I don't believe it's wise for Federal law makers of the Republicans to be known for being anti environment and pro pollution. I never thought the term tree hugger had much impact in attacking environmentialists. Most people in the country are environmentalist and nobody wants to live in pollution.
