Nixon Aide Wanted GOP to Court Kerry

Even as the Nixon administration was plotting in 1971 to destroy John F. Kerry, then the young, charismatic leader of Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the president's top political strategist apparently didn't get the memo.

Kerry is a stereotypical politician. He stands for nothing. He just tells people what he thinks they want to hear. Had the political climate been different when he started his career, he would be a Republican right now.

It still cracks me up how some Republicans on this site still believe that GWB is a better president than Kerry would have been. I guess there is no cure for some forms of psychosis.
