Teacher Kathy Hubbard considers the 2008 presidential race the most important in years. But she cringed at the barrage of images and information that the contest throws at her every day. "It's too soon," she said. "It's bizarre. It's a shame that I have to begin paying attention to the presidential race now."

What a shame to be forced to think!!! waaaaaaaaa!!!

Sincerely,

Robotic Teacher.

The most important in years....but "It's a shame that I have to begin paying attention to the presidential race now."

I dont even know what to say...and this woman is a teacher

Hell...I love it! The more public exposure those plastic bananas have the more they are exposed .

I fear that this is indicative of how the vast majority of people vote in this nation. They don't like long campaigns and massive amounts of information on the candidates. Most just listen to a couple news reports, and maybe a debate if they are really interested, and throw the lever. A good percentage don't even do that much, they just vote for whoever their party puts out there. The idea of actually spending some time learning about the candidates and knowing exactly what they represent is just a waste to them.
It's sad.

"It's bizarre. It's a shame that I have to begin paying attention to the presidential race now."

Baby Jesus, Little Buddha, Tiny Mohammad and the Iddy Biddy Flying Spaghetti Monster are all crying simultaneously.

I hope this woman is happy with herself.

How does this woman vote?

Does she just close her eyes and push a lever?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the final evidence...

The American Dream is dead.

I doubt this woman's comments had to do with her not being able to handle "large amounts of information" on the candidates. The truth is that we never get the information we need on candidates, we get their sham promises and all the personal bullshit thrown at them from the other side. If we were getting valuable information from the commercials, debates, etc, then I doubt anyone would be angry that the campaign started so early. It's about being tired of the essential sham that our elections are that makes people so weary.

Class! Class! CLASS!!!!!

Sit down and drink your koolaid!

No throwing softballs!

Sincerely,

Robotic Teacher

i think its a great idea, considering how many candidates there are... if the process started 6 months from now the quasi-incumbent bitch hitlery cliton would win by default..

with the extra time, the competitors have a chance to knock her down and put the bitch in her place before she assumes the throne.

AUDREY.. liiiittle too much coffee this AM ?

I somewhat agree with this woman.

The earlier the campaigning starts means more BS the candidates spew.

Exactly Pirate. We aren't being fed quality information that's worth our time, we're being inundated with bullshit. The later the better.

Mid to late 01/06 is when Obama and Clinton announced they're "exploring" the possibility of running.

The election is 11/4/2008.

Close to 2 years of crap potential candidates are spewing.

Added to the years of crap the current President is spewing.

That's massive amounts of crap.

If only we could convert that crap to energy...

One hopes the longer campaign allows the more time for lesser known candidates to have their say and for more chances that the clueless and unqualified will expose themselves.

"In interview after interview, voters said they felt overwhelmed by the battle for their attention: the speeches, the attacks, the unceasing news coverage of celebrity candidates, and a fund-raising free-for-all that many described as unseemly."

What a bunch of pathetic fucking whiners.

Don't like it? Turn the goddam TV off and read a book, fer chrissakes.

Sucks when the future of our country cuts into American Idol viewing.

I kinda feel that this teacher has a point, and is being taken out of context. In civilized lands they start campaigning about six weeks before the elections. But consider this folks: In mid-November of 2008 we'll start talking about the presidential race of 2012. herm

Most people should be able to decide which candidate they share the most opinions with, in a short amount of time.

From that point, the candidates we don't agree with should only be trying to change our opinions.

Either the candidates have to flip-flop, or we do, to change who we back. Many of us may have to change whom we support, as candidates drop out, but it's not rocket science.

Turn the goddam TV off and read a book, fer chrissakes.

Yep...All the rest is just a media show.

I kinda agree with this woman. At least wait till Nov-07.

Why do you think Thompson hasn't thrown his hat in the ring?

"Why do you think Thompson hasn't thrown his hat in the ring?"

He needs the residuals from Law and Order?

Maybe he needs the hat to keep the rug on his head 'til the new Velcro retainer gets in......

Early start to campaign annoys Public?
Good! I WANT the f**ckers annoyed enough to vote in ANGER.....

The "political season" was too long when you just started getting inundated in Feb. of election year. This crap has now started almost two full years of these guys having to whore themselves for donations. And what's in the news? Not their positions. It's the fundraising race. Most of the electorate will be sick of the entire process by election day.
We could get this entire process done in six months, or less.
