As the war in Iraq continues to erode public confidence in the administration, President Bush and VP Dick Cheney are increasingly pointing to a single villain on the battlefield: Al Qaeda. Why? After Does one and a half terms in office, does the Bush Administration really understand who America's enemies are? After 6 1/2 years of OJT, is GW Bush smarter or dumber about the answer to the question?

After six and a half years of on the job training one would think that G. W. Bush would have learned a thing or two. But one wonders?

I especially appreciate the article's closing line: "Military experts will tell you that failing to understand your enemy is a prescription for broader failure."

I wonder if the public at large were asked to define who we are at war with under Bush and Cheney's government if there would be an accurate consensus on the issue? Surely during all wars the the country has won, there was never any doubt as th the answer. In those where we lost, there was always the same murky vagueness as we have under Bush and Cheney.

Every idiot and his brother know the way to piss off "The Shrub" is to claim to be Al Qaeda.

Most of these groups can at best be described as "cheesy".

Both you and I can boldly claim association with anyone we want to. That doesn't mean anything has actually happened.

I think that "The Shrub" has an orgasm every time he hears "Al Qaeda".

How many of these groups can legitimately claim association with anyone at all?

Who knows?

But one statement I think can come out of all this nonsense.

Mr. President, grow up. Can't you see they are pulling you chain?

If not, you may be the only one that doesn't

H -- good points.

Btw, on the intel pressed into W's hands in February 2001 was an analysis of the potential for terrorism in the homeland. The work had been in progress since the 2nd Clinton administration. See:

I find a need to amend my previous comment.

I stated that the term or title Al Qaeda gives "The Shrub" the big "O".

Well, if thats so, then 9/11 is the foreplay.

If both of these can be used, properly or not, satisfaction is his.
