Granted, it is their job to just report the news. However, just reporting a non-story like Paris Whore-ton is completely different. If news anchors are going to wax political on one side or another they can get the hell out. If they are going to refuse to talk about a spoiled brat who got out of jail they should be applauded.

Also, I think she went a little far with trying to burn the paper, she could have just shuffled it to the bottom of the stack and that would have been a clear enough statement of her integrity.

Her unwillingness to report on a story she finds unimportant has nothing to do with integrity. It has everything to do with a reporter playing the role of editor. She is not reporting 'what happended', she is making an editorial decision to not report on a 'what happended' because she feels it is not important. This is fine for her to do, even though it may cost her a job.

The news coverage of this non-story has been nauseating.
