The U.S. military says 22 insurgents have been killed as about 10,000 American soldiers make a fresh push into the dangerous Diyala province north of Baghdad. Also, a car bomb blast has killed at least 22 people in Baghdad.

Bullshit story... there is no al qaeda in Iraq... that's why we have to leave, because Al Qaeda is in Afghanistan, not Iraq...

"""Bullshit story... there is no al qaeda in Iraq... that's why we have to leave, because Al Qaeda is in Afghanistan, not Iraq..."""

Isn't it hilarious how there was no AQ in Iraq efore your puds landed there? And now Iraq is the biggest terrorist training ground ever? Isn't that a fucking hoot?

Not oil, no, we're not there for oil. We're liberating from wmds, er, no, saddam and obl are buddies, er, no, we are liberat...er, no. We're fighting them there so we don't fight...er, no.

Stability in the ME does not serve u.s. or israel interests.

WTF are you idiots going to invent next?

This is it. The surge to Victory we were promised.

Time to declare ourselves the winner and bring the troops home

We need more troops. Let them deal with 50,000 bearing down on them.

Bush you won lets go home.

Let them deal with 50,000 bearing down on them.

Care to take the king's shilling?

Go inlist Adams. And if you're to old, send your children.
Chickenhawks are always the first to call for war and the last to fight.
BTW; The war is bullshit. Al-CIA-da doesn't exist.
I still don't understand why the US is allies with Saudi Arabia, if most of the 911 terrorists were Saudi?

Doesn't it make one so proud to be part of such a glorious campaign!

22 insurgents were killed. I heard that song and dance when I was in Nam. If there was a dead body, it was a VC. Being dead made you a VC. Same same here.
We killed lots of VC cows and chickens. Put black pajamas on them and they all look alike.

There are no battle lines, and these 10,000 are simply sniper and IED targets with nothing to shoot at.

Completely agreed.

Mossad are taking out the scholastic class, the rest are contractors. That is precisely how complex, debilitating operations are performed from within "secured" zones under the noses of coalition forces.

I asked "trooper" what was stopping the military from training folks in Arabic - no response. Why wasn't Saudi Arabia and Syria brought in earlier - again, silence speaks volumes.

10,000 U.S. Troops Battle Al Qaeda in Iraq

It is going to be a very bloody summer -- al quada and Iran will pull out all the stops to doom the surge before that Septemebr report Petraous will give.

Bush traded a timeline for withdrawl for a timeline for showing "measureable success", and in doing so guaranteed that the next threee months will be the bloodiest of the war to date.

What's sad is that it takes 10,000 better trained and equipped to kill 22.

Redlightrobot,
Sorry didn't see your question until I read this thread. We are training folks to speak Arabic. From the soldiers on the ground to folks who attend language schools. We also have a surprising number of first and second generation Americans who speak the mother tongue. A real bonus.

I think Saudi Arabia has its hands full with its own internal issues. And I trust the Syrians as much as the Iranians.

pretty cool.....

rob, my right and honorable friend, makes a sarcastic statement about alqaida in iraq and then the left proceeds to show that you have to be carefull these days. satire comes true some times......

'my right and honorable friend'
I just watched questions to the PM from the english parliment........

"In the short time since [Gen. David] Petraeus took charge here, Anbar Province - "Anbar the Impossible" - seems to have made a remarkable turnaround. I just spent about a month out there and saw no combat. I have never gone that long in Iraq without seeing combat. Clearly, some areas of Anbar remain dangerous - there is fighting in Fallujah today - but there is also something in Anbar today that hasn't been seen in recent memory: possibilities." - michaelyon-online.com

Unfortunately, I kinda agree with BuffaloBob. If anyone fights the US troops, they are automatically insurgents (a bullshit word invented to exist solely on its negative connotation) or Al-Qaida. If we were invaded (God forbid), and the citizenry fought back (which I certainly would), would we then be called terrorists and insurgents?

*sigh*
It's Vietnam and 1980s Afghanistan, redux.

usual story, americans enter a district,"insurgents aka terrorists aka freedom fighters aka militants aka poor sods in wrong place at wrong time" leave, americans blow up a few "weapon caches",kill a few people, lose a few people, claim a success, leave,"insurgents aka terrorists aka freedom fighters aka militants aka poor sods in wrong place at wrong time" return, and the IED'S sniper attacks, sectarian killings, truck and car bombs resume..until the next "operation what will we call it this time"
