Sen. Jim Webb acknowledged for the first time that he owned the pistol involved in the arrest of his aide Phillip Thompson at a Senate office building in March. "It's my gun, but what I said in the press conference is true. I did not give it to Phillip, nor did I ask him to do anything with it."

It's OK. Webb trash talks abut Bush, so he can do anything he wants.

Huh, oh he is a dem.

What exactly is it that Webb did? Was a crime committed? Did Webb lie?

If so, he should face criticism. But until then, stick your head back up Bush's ass - you'll need a shit refill in order to spin the next revelation coming out of this white house. Tomorrow, perhaps?

I like Webb, but it pisses me off that he let his aide take the rap originally, and only now (after the charges were dropped) is he admitting it was his gun. That's sorry, whether you have a D. or an R. next to your name.

Well said RC.

I didn't know dems had guns! I better tell Pedro to watch out next time he breaks into a dem's house. The guy may be armed and stupid.

He would have taken some heat for the gun, but is and will anyway. If he had stepped up to the plate right away, he would scored a lot of character points with a lot of people. How many people will want to work for him now, knowing they'll be thrown under the bus for the boss? Too bad, Webb could really have turned this negative issue (non-issue, IMHO, but I'm not starting up the gun debate again) into a positive opportunity.

I have to agree REBORN it is a character issue. We all make mistakes, that is human, it is how we react to them and whether we take ownership and do the right thing that determine the kind of person we are.

Jim Webb allowing his aide to go to jail on his frickin' birthday and not speaking up till now on the subject of the guns ownership betrays a distressing lack of personal responsibility.

Classless move there, Jimbo.

Disapointing.

Be Well.
