Taliban militants fired rockets near President Hamid Karzai in an apparent assassination attempt in central Afghanistan on Sunday, but the missiles fell far from their target and no one was hurt, officials and witnesses said.

Sorry, Hamid, we're a little busy right now securing our new oil supplies.

We'll get back to you when the heroin epidemic gets out of hand.

"the missiles fell far from their target"
But they're likely to get more accurate.

Afghanistan is fucked up. Karzai is our only ally there, by which I mean, he is a puppet. He probably knows this better than anyone. His days are numbered. By taking our eyes off the ball there, i.e. AL QAEDA, they have gained the upper hand in both Iraq and Afganistan.

they have gained the upper hand in both Iraq and Afganistan.

You're joking, right?

Tell me just how they've gained the upper hand.

Incubus_Con:

A ragtag bunch of insurgents has found a way to hold off the world's most powerful military force.
Can you not see how that is the upper hand?

"A ragtag bunch of insurgents has found a way to hold off the world's most powerful military force."

Where have I read that before?

OK, Zatoichi,
Where did you read that before? Just curious.

What greater joy did New England see
Than a stampman hanging on a tree

"What greater pleasure can there be, Than to see a stamp man hanging on a tree?"
T. Paine

The American insurgents held off the far superior British military force. At the end of the day, we all know who won the war.

Good old Tom.

"Read this."

I'm familiar with your posts regarding Global Warming. Generally, I agree with you.

Nice work.

He attacked himself so everyone can feel sorry for him and give him more money.

Oldest trick in the book.

So has Karsick gotten any afghan body guards yet?
It says a lot when you cen't even find a dozen of your own countrymen you can trust....
I bet he yearns for his old Chevron-puppet status. I bet Condi would pull his string for him.

Karzai obviously is comfrtable with Afghani's providing his protection. Maybe you should do a little reading instead of lamely ripping off the Daily Show?

By the way, "Tosser"? You have got to be kidding me with a name like "Tosser" on a flaming lib site?

The list of unintended consequences from Bushit gets longer every day.

Why "Tosser"?

Maybe I've got a sense of sarcastic humor?

Maybe I was depressed?

Maybe I was high on something?

Maybe I just had to go to the toilet and couldn't think of anything better in the 5 seconds I had left?

Who knows?

That Karzai has more lives than my 3 cats combined.

It's happened so often he's gotten cool about it now. "Please sit down"..."Don't be scared. Nothing is happening."

I'd be looking for some clean pants.

You're right 101, in 2006 Karsick found some afghans who he wasn't afraid of and it only took him 5 years.
Mea culpa.

I was actually talking about his courage in regards to battle. He had the opportunity to get out of dodge and he stayed. Many of "his" men stayed with him. The odds were against him, and many lesser men (you) would have ran.
