Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Tuesday, June 05, 2007

President Bush drew startling criticism Tuesday night from Republican White House hopefuls unhappy with his handling of the Iraq war, his diplomatic style and his approach to immigration. "I would certainly not send him to the United Nations" to represent the United States, said Tommy Thompson, the former Wisconsin governor and one-time member of Bush's Cabinet, midway through a spirited campaign debate.

That was quite the line up of assclowns .

Doesn't this beat all.

They all are slammin Bush as a problem for this nation but BOTH parties keep sending and making bills Bush wants to pass.

So if their actions don't represent their words what kind of individual leaders are we electing.

I would say Bush, just with a different face!

Vote on the New Hampshire Republican debate - The Debates - MSNBC.com

www.msnbc.msn.com

Rats from a ship. See how they scurry. Fuckin hypocrites. So long as his polls were high, all these clowns were kissing GWBs ass.

The whole bunch of them can go right to hell in a handbasket-right after they wipe Jr's jizz off their chins(they will have to wipe 2 or 3 times-too many double-chins in that crowd)...

Reagan wannabe's all.

That this weak field is the best they can do explains why even an unproven Fred Thompson is looking good to conservatives.

Ya gotta love the reference to the "Kennedy wing of the Republican Party", though.

Shit-they still kiss his ass-they just PRETEND not to in public-then give his non-Majesty whatever the fuck he wants..and the Dems aren't doing any better.....although-I have to say their approval ratings are STILL higher than the shrub's-or the rethug Congress's....

The Dems are doing MUCH better. How can anyone possibly compare John Edwards or Barrack Obama with those GOP clowns on the stage tonight. I think every single Democratic candidate has more substance than any single Republican candidate, with the possible exception of Congressman Paul.

The GOP Mosh Pit Extravaganza does the Lollapalooza Tour. See your basic neocon body slammed to the wall by Tommy
Thompson !!! See Thompson throw Dubya under the bus !!! One thing you can say about these Repubs, they sure ain't boring.

They all are slammin Bush as a problem for this nation but BOTH parties keep sending and making bills Bush wants to pass.

Good point.

I was out for a few hours so I missed the debate but they are running it again at midnite so I will probably stay up and watch it.

I guess that's why ny friends call me a"news junkie".

It IS interesting to see the mostly rational moderate to liberal (egads!)policies by Republicans like Mitt and John and Rudy and Tommy so prominently on display in the Republican Party.

But all these guys on stage tonight are are paid lobbyists for the oil, pharmaceutical, insurance, and finance industries, and are unwilling to change that arrangement.

"Asked about a Rhode Island Catholic bishop who criticized him for supporting abortion rights, Giuliani began to respond when a lightning strike briefly interfered with the debate hall sound system.

"Look, for someone who went to parochial schools all his life, this is a very frightening thing that's happening right now," he said to laughter.
"

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

That wasn't thunder clapping that was Spud.

The dreaded "slow clap"

Yeah, these boys are funny.

Not the good kind.

Not one hand raised for gays in the military?

It's not that they don't want equal rights for gays they just don't wanna mess with the sanctity or the tradidtional definition of military.

Ya know they should pass a "Defense Of Military Act" and enshrine that one into law?snark>

Schmucks.

Jon Stewart made fun of Wolf's "hands up" questions but in all honesty they are kinda useful in that they don't provide the debaters with a chance to fly off on some self serving tangent.

Yes or no?
Thumb up or down?
Decide!

Spud believes that the Dems were asked the same quetion by Wolf and most, if not all of the hands went up.

Think Wolf phrased it "Are you in favor of scrapping "Don't ask don't tell"?" in the Dem debate.

They are all for the war of course except Paul.

They just think Bush didn't do a good job not that the job wasn't worth doing.

Worth it to whom? asks Spud.

Be Well.

PS: MSNBC Poll?

Yup, like all the rest Paul scores huge on "standing out" and "leadership" and Rudy is thought to be the most rehearsed least, direct candidate.

But to hear Fox spin it Paul wasn't even there and Rudy was a top tier contender.

Freaks!

But all these guys on stage tonight are are paid lobbyists for the oil, pharmaceutical, insurance, and finance industries, and are unwilling to change that arrangement.

They're all paid lobbyists in the end, on both sides of the aisle. The only way to end this charade is to do what Biden said during the Democratic debate: demand public financing of elections. It wouldn't completely solve the problem, but it would help a lot.

Freaks!
They are all freaks

They want to go into the 21st Century with Ronald Reagan.

That is not even a good joke.

Hi Gal!

The difference, as you say, is that there are Dems that are willing to change the situation.

That seemed quite un-called for, my good POS Vermin.

Why don't you stick to park benches? You know, "watching the little panties run, Aqualung".

Do you spit when you jerk off to such nonsense? Or do you go dry?

Yeah, that really adds to your credibility.

Hi Corky! Just ignore those posting from the peanut gallery, with an emphasis on nut.

President Bush drew startling criticism Tuesday night from Republican White House hopefuls unhappy with his handling of the Iraq war

Who knew there were so many born-again Republicans?! Perhaps they will even claim it wasn't them who left the GOP but the GOP who left them!

Or, well, rather the GOP left them at the alter and eloped with the W rather than settle down into a respectable, Republican, cloth-coat, marriage.

But dadgum, they're keeping the Cadillac...I mean the dog. Besides, it wasn't a bribe. They won it in a game of checkers.

Puling Hypocrits.

Did anyone else see the irony of the pro-life candidates saying nuking Iran preemptively was reasonable?

Kill one unborn fetus... go to hell.
Potentially kill or main hundreds maybe thousands of innocent civilians... go to heaven.

Seriously... Is there anyone in either party that could be called clinically sane at this point?

Gal Tuesday is correct... Possibly the only way to limit this madness is for strict budgets supplied by the respective government with no outside contributions when running for office.

Puling Hypocrits.

Mr. Cairo, when did you start channeling Tadowe?!?

"I believe George W. Bush has tremendous characteristics"
Yeah, he's a character alright.

But I just love hearing all these guys saying that we need to get energy independence and get off foreign oil. Who are they kidding? Bush has had 6 years, and after 9-11 he had a moral imperative. Bush did jack shit, why are any of these guys going to do something?

Each and every one of these Republicans will keep buying oil from Saudi Arabia, will keep funding Al-Queda, will keep funding Ajaminawhatever, and will keep our trade deficit at suicidal levels.

Regarding Guliani on Libby: A man's life is at stake??? It's 30 months, it's not a death sentance. Complete pandering.

Anyone else notice that in both debates the "fringe candidates" as determined by the establishment have been pushed to the outer edge of the stage so you dont see them unless theyre actually answering questions. DEMS Kucinich, Gravel, GOP Paul, Tancredo. And the self described "front runners" DEMS Edwards, obama, clinton, GOP Guiliani, mccain, romney, are congregated in the center so they all garner more camera time.

I posted the above on the earlier thread about the Democratic debate. I also like how CNN deliberately delayed posting a poll on their website. Cant talk about Ron Paul winning the online poll on TV anymore. They need to be sure to declare him a candidate that needs to drop out.

Thompson was on FNC at 9pm. I'd like to see Mr Newt jump in the race.

Your observation appears to reflect the view of many in the GOP towards the current crop of contenders: This is it? I mean, they're all Bob Dole.

"The difference, as you say, is that there are Dems that are willing to change the situation." Posted by CORKY

Right, Corky...democrats are so much more open, honest, ethical, frugal etc. You're not REALLY that naive, are you? Keep in mind, they are ALL JUST POLITICIANS...no difference. They are just seeking POWER, that's all.

influencepeddler.blogspot.com

How long will the media continue to disenfranchise Ron Paul?

How long will they try and marginalize him?

What they don't understand is that the American people want a non-interventionist policy.

What they don't understand is that there are Democrats out there that are going to put aside party and get themselves out of this miserable war, no matter the cost.

What they don't understand is that the young people of this country are mobilizing in ways never seen before.

What they will not talk about is that Ron Paul wins EVERY SINGLE POLL.

Ron Paul is not a "kook". Ron Paul is not crazy. Ron Paul is what this country needs.

So that leaves Rudy & Mitt. I could live with either - Oohrah

Fortunately, you won't have to, at least not after the election.

well I am batting 1000 on my personal predictions this morning before I pulled up this site.
the headline was just as I thought...anything to bash bush
and responses from the left were also spot on.
begore getting into specifics, there is one thing that is wihtout a doubt above all else.

there is a line drawn in the send when it comes to the iraq/war on terror.......

except for the fringe on each side......

and this is without a comment on either because my view is well known on the issue, and I say this without comment.

if you cant tell the difference on where the dems are on this issue and where the repubs are, then you dont need to vote.

I'd like to see Mr Newt jump in the race.

Yeah there's a breath of morality. Typical right wing stuff. Hold others to a higher standard while trotting your junk out as potential candidates. Please do us a favor and bring him out.

OohRah - Thanks for explaining where you stand and why on some of the condendahs. While I'm not planning on voting for any of them--I'll bet that comes as quite a shock to you this early in the day :>o ---I'm interested in what someone who may end up doing so is thinking. If that sounds condesdending, it isn't meant that way. Now, if the rest of the political culture could start talking, instead of shouting, things might be better. And that's my Rodney King Moment for the day.

and now to the meat of it.

when they were talking about immigration I was yelling at the screen.....and yes the dog looked up at me as if to say, shut up Im sleeping here.......
I wanted to ask a couple of them, can you hear the people screaming at you.....did you hear of the booing that some candidates got while at home? read even some of the liberal blogs and read what people are saying about it......of course the will of the people doesnt mean much anymore, what with a liberal judge ready at every corner to overturn it these days.

there is a line drawn in the send when it comes to the iraq/war on terror.......BLT

Where? where? where?

McCain at the debate:
"When Senator Clinton says this is Mr. Bush's war, President Bush's war," she is wrong. When President Clinton was in power, I didn't say Bosnia was President Clinton's war."

HE may not have said it, but every republican talking head and a slew of other republican congress-people DID say it...and worse.

Of course, this is the republican's only hope for 2008--that the voters won't have a good memory and/or will be to lazy to research.

Run Newt!!! Ask anyone from GA and they will tell you his zipper is always down and he is F**king his staff at every chance. He is morally bankrupt!
Tell your wife after cancer surgery you are divorcing her. Bob Barr is his best friend, and God knows Barr is a worthless POS!
So run Newt, run away you sorry sack of shit!

SamBarber, your comment sent me on a Google search (I found it on The Internets). Check out these gems, excerpted from a 2/19/96 USA Today piece(the entire article can be found at www.usatoday.com), reporting some GOPiggy reaction to the first death of a US soldier in Bosnia:

Republican presidential contender Sen. Phil Gramm (R-Texas) said Sunday his first act if he is elected president would be to pull out the American troops participating in the NATO effort to keep the fragile peace in Bosnia.

The government can provide the best arms to protect them while they are there, "but the best way to keep them safe is to bring them home," declared the Texas senator.

Rep. Gerald Solomon (R-N.Y.), chairman of the House Rules Committee, said Americans "are going to be outraged at the loss of one life" in Bosnia. "In spite of our hearts going out to the family of this boy, there never was a national interest to put any troops there and sacrifice even one life."
. . . .
Gingrich said:

"One thing we have to remember is these kinds of activities are never risk-free. ... At the same time the United States can't say we will never take any risks anywhere. We would then become an automatic target for terrorists and people who want to drive us out of business."
...
Congress has long opposed Clinton's determination to contribute U.S. troops to a NATO peacekeeping mission in the event the warring factions in Bosnia ever agreed on peace.

When that became a reality last December and U.S. troops began heading for the war-torn former Yugoslav republic, the House voted 287-141 for a non-binding resolution opposing the deployment but supporting American troops.

The Senate, under the guidance of Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and former Vietnam War prisoner-of-war Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), supported the mission by a 69-30 vote, but with the condition that it not last longer than a year.
. . . .

Ah, Irony, thy sting be sweet.

I love how no notice is taken of Ron Paul despite the massive support he obviously garners in the polls.

He's the only one from either side that isn't full of shit.

Oh, and here were the comments from the cnn.com message board before they magically vanished. Hmmm...I wonder why they vanished? Maybe another one of God's pesky lightning bolts?

]and of course I mean that the two sides are pretty clear on what they think on the issue....so clear that even you could understand..........lol....jus
t teasing....

dems= cut and run and ask the enemy to please not hurt us

repubs= tell the enemy that we will not back down to you and your murdering religious jealots..you will not win no matter how long it takes and your idea of an international caliphet(sp) is not going to come about no matter how many beheadings in the name of your 'peacefull' religion you do.

and the rest of the world can either pick civilization or evil......and if you dont think that is what this war is all about with its present front lines being in iraq, then your naivete is going to get tens upon tens upon tens of thousands more killed than what you lie about bush and iraq......

this debate should have cleared up any doubts that anyone might have had about the two sides.

"I'd like it if someone like you could dispassionately break down the Dem contenders from their personal viewpoint."

Cards on the table. Who's running? The ones I'm paying attention to are Hillary (funny how she gets the first-name treatment and none of the others do), Obama, and Edwards. Why? Because they are, in realpolitik terms, the ones who have an actual shot (barring assassination, bad news from the doctor, or the planet trying to duke it out with a medium to large asteroid.) (My personal fave, Che Guevara, is not a contendah due to---among other things---the fact that he's dead. I would settle for Jimmy "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" Stewart but he, to, alas and alack, is cavorting in the Elysian Fields.)

Bear in mind, Oohrah, that I won't be voting in a Dem prez primary. My state doesn't have one. (I also change registrations every now and again, so I can vote in non-prez primaries. Not sure why I bother, just fucking with The Man, I guess. Monkeywrenching.)

Anyhoo....

Edwards: Sheesh, he's awfully slick, isn't he? I can see how he's done so well over the years, though I just...don't...quite...trust the guy. His wife is another matter, very smart, personable. But she's not running for president last time I checked.

Obama: I like him. For a couple of reasons: He's a communicator and I believe in that department he might someday come up to the mark of a JFK, Reagan, or Bill Clinton (who on a personal appeal level I put right up there with Edwards, but worse). I like that. Tone is important. Very important. (Hell, look at Bush---I suspect that's part of the reason a lot of people despise him.) Ideas? Oh, hell, FDR didn't have any real ideas when he got in. But I'd like to see some more from Obama. It's early, let's see what he comes up with. (Smart going for health care, though.) I also veer towards Obama because he isn't.....

Hillary: I'd like to see a woman in the job for the same reason I'd like to see a person of color---a break with the past. But Hillary is not exactly a break with the past. She is the past incarnate. To me, her name sends out the message "dynasties," "entitlement." Also, she reminds me a lot---and I mean, A LOT---of her husband, who is eseentially what used to be called a "liberal Republican" (species: extinct) dressed up as a "Democrat."

So, there you have it, for now.

A happy camper I am not. But I realize nobody I could really embrace with enthusiasm could be elected president, so I hold my nose and live with it.

On the nose-holding part: Not a big problem with Obama. More of a problem wit Edwards, but do-able. Clinton? I would drag my ass to the poles only if I thought one of those GOPiggies I watched the other night had a realistic shot at it.

Next time I want to confess, Oohrah, I'm gonna go in search of a priest.

enfilde....interesting......yo
u are aware of some of his economic ideas.....I thought that he made some good points last night on this part..
but DANNI wont like this.......when he said that the oil profits wasnt the problem.....oooohhh she aint gonna like that.......tease tease......
he is a real supporter of the individual taking care of himslef without the help of big brother and a mother government which is why he will never get enough votes from the left and his stance on the global war on terror will mean he doesnt get enough votes on the right.
his personal responsibility stance is also, while I would not vote for him, it at least is the reason why he is interesting in this day and age and I respect him for that.

I also have wondered why its hillary but its then obama and edwards and other last names......is that the media making an attempt to make us more familar with her?
I prefer to refer to her as MRS clinton because it is important to remember that when you vote for her, you also vote for him..............

and the question for each group about former pres's was interesting in that I dont believe I have ever heard that one at a debate before.......does that mean that carter and clinton running thier mouths overseas has had an effect on even democratic things?

and of course the comment from the one guy about bush and the un wasnt a slam against bush but against the UN......anyone without liberal bias could see that.

Kucinich/Paul '08!

It is nice to see Paul on the stage with all those corporate lobbyists, pointing out the moral and political hypocrisy of the GOP in Iraq.

Though I doubt most people could actually stomach a true Libertarian (Darwinistic)approach to government.

At least Paul offers Repubs the opportunity to see that there is a difference between fighting al-Qaeda and terrorism, and preemptive war, particularly incoherent, incompetent, and idiotic preemptive war.

I'm not saying I agree with him on every issue (him being pro-life among other things), he just seems to vote and speak with consistency. For example, while he is pro-life, he is not pro-life just in the sense that he wants to stop some poor woman from getting an abortion because jesus says so, but because he views roe vs. wade as having no basis in the constitution. I can respect that. His pro-life ethic is consistent, as he also opposes war in which life is destroyed, as opposed to the other republican candidates who preach against the evils of abortion as killing one minute and in the next argue the possibility of a nuclear attack against iran.

Some of his views are unpopular with his party, yet he stands up for them anyway and doesn't back down. In a time where every candidate waters down their message in order to garner votes that speaks volumes to me. He seems trustworthy, and his stance on limiting the government to its constitutionally granted powers is appealing to me.

Basically, I know with him in office, I can trust him to A) get us out of this war, B) keep us from becoming embroiled in a similiar situation, and C) uphold the constitution as he swore an oath to. While some of the democrats appeal to me on point A, it's points B and C that they're a bit fuzzy on, whereas Paul I have no doubts on.

-it is important to remember that when you vote for her, you also vote for him..............

That is important. It is one reason a whole lot of people will vote for her.

This time around, the "two-fer" package is more attractive, considering the relative peace and prosperity, and competence, of the Clinton years.

"Your thoughts on Gore? He could make things very interesting for the current group."

Ah, Grasshopper, yes, indeed, he could, could he not? (I think I've worked enough commas in for now.) Did you see him with Charlie Rose a week or two ago? He's a bit pompous (a bit?), but he could really shake things up. I'd like to see him get in, and I'd be inclined to give him a vote (or two, maybe even three). He's waaaaay ahead on the global warming issue and he would cerainly give Hillary a bad case of the heebiejeebies, don't you think? On a personal level, I'd guess he feels he has some scores to settle with La Familia Clinton. But he's also a political realist. My thoughts on whether or not Gore would actually go for it are strongly influenced by two questions. First, does he have access to the huge pile of moolah he'd need to mount a serious campaign? (Unless he gets some kinky thrill out of ass-whipping he surely doesn't want to take a drubbing and end up in Harold Stassen territory)/ And, second, if he's gonna make a run, doesn't he have to shed a couple of pounds? The guy looks like he's about to explode.

But if he promises not to shove his tongue down Tipper's throat in public ever again, I could make it to the polls in November '08.

Well, I saw the debate.

The big loser was this debate format -- 10 candidates for the Republicans / 7 for the Democrats -- it's so cluttered it's hard to follow and no candidate gets a real chance to explain their positions fully.

I'm looking forward to when each field gets narrowed down to 3 or 4 and we can have some real debates.

Given this obviously flawed format, for what it is worth, here is my take on winners and losers.

There were no big winners.

Overall, as the frontrunner, I think Rudy won by not losing. That's also the reason why Hillary won the Dem debate. I think in this debating format if the front runners maintain their lead then they win the debate.

And Rudy even increased his lead after the last debate

"a new Gallup poll showed Giuliani is lapping the field by pulling in 32 percent to open a 13-point lead over McCain, his closest rival - up 7 points in the past month."
www.nypost.com

I don't think he made any noticeable gaffes last night that would knock him off the lead. So he wins.

I thought Huckabee had another strong showing. he's looking like a possible VP candidate. And Romney, once again appeared slick, articulate and "Clintonesque".

As for the losers.

McCain.

I think he's in a free fall over immigration.

I have nothing to say about the other candidates, none of them garner more then 2% in the polls, and I don't see that changing. None of them seem presidential to me, or have said anything that stands out in a way that would make me want to vote for them.

"Rats from a ship. See how they scurry. Fuckin hypocrites. So long as his polls were high, all these clowns were kissing GWBs ass."

True about both major parties

Kucinich/Paul '08!

Wouldn't that just be the wimpiest ticket in US history.

LOL

So long as his polls were high, all these clowns were kissing GWBs ass.

So does that mean the democrats are now kissing GWB's ass because his poll numbers are low?

I mean they support the Presidnet on immmigration, and gave him his troop funding without a timeline.

funny how she gets the first-name treatment and none of the others do

I think that's to distinguish herself from her husband. Bill Clinton is still enough in the public eye, that when someone writes "Clinton" many people think of him before Hillary.

So it is just easier to write "hillary" when talking about her, then to write "Clinton" which might be confusing.

Lordy the Delusionals are out today. That figures.

Larry

Kucinich/Paul '08!

No, in retrospect I would say that it was whoever lost to Carter/Mondale `76.

They say that around 50 percent of the potential GOP primary voters still don't know Rudy's position on abortion, so expect his numbers to be negatively effected as they find out.

He may also lose a few points when his divorces, penchant for cross-dressing, and true political history and business associations in NY are popularized to the general public who haven't paid attention to these.

Bowa's remark (at least I think it was Bowa) about the format of the "debate" (more of a bathing suit contest featuring a bevy of uglies plus Rudy in grag) reminds me that there is a possible solution to be found in one of George Carlin's suggestions: Slug Fest.

"Well, it turns out Carlin's event would be called "Slug Fest" and toss 100,000 "strutting, preening, hairy, alpha male (expletives) into a dirt arena and beat the sap out of each other fueled by whiskey and PCP. Then you take the last guy that's standing, put him on a pedestal and shoot him in the ... head!"
www.reviewjournal.com

What they will not talk about is that Ron Paul wins EVERY SINGLE POLL.

That's not true, as far as I have seen, all the polls that Paul has won have all been unscientific.

If there is a story here -- it's that Paul has a passionate dedicated support on the net who have been moved to respond to these unscientific polls and vote in large numbers which have skewed the results over the scientific polling.

My mommy always said if you can say something nice, don't say it.

They say that around 50 percent of the potential GOP primary voters still don't know Rudy's position on abortion, so expect his numbers to be negatively effected as they find out.

Who is "they". And how could whoever said that be so sure these people would vote in the primary, if after three debates and months of front-page reporting in the media, they don't even know Rudy's position on abortion?

That's not true, as far as I have seen, all the polls that Paul has won have all been unscientific.

It's rather scientific.

Probably part of the same group of Republicans who still think Saddam was part of 9-11.

Oh, you mean Thompson who is busily learning to repeat the talking points which he did quite a bit of last night on Fox. I don't think you could actually choose a less intelligent sounding person to succeed Dubya, perhaps that is what attracts some folks to these morons.
BTw, in his quoting of talking points there were a few outright lies spoken by him. That is another trait BL seems to value.

If Hillary starts to run away with the nomination, I hope Condi runs.

It's not the thoughful DR poster, but the general public and their choice between these two.

Good buy gender issue. It'll come down to race, the letter after the name, and how much you might hate one over the other.

I've read the thread and its confirms my belief:

We choose between the lesser of two evils instead of looking for what is better than the two evils.

Oh, you mean Thompson who is busily learning to repeat the talking points which he did quite a bit of last night on Fox.

Was Thompson in last night's debate? I can't bring myself to watch them, or even really read about them yet. I'm learning about the candidates on my own for now...

I did see Ron Paul on the Daily Show yesterday... yeah... uh... not gonna happen.

As to Bush bashing from the GOP you're going to see a lot of that over the next 18 months or so... unless something happens to bring his numbers back up into the 50s... then you'll see a lot of, "I support this president and always have."

Oops. goodbye gender...

A Pew poll of likely GOP primary voters is the source.

Could you post a link to that pew poll. Thanks

Cost aaround 100 Grand give or take how far You want to go You know.

The Bush Bashing was sweet.

Nice to see Repubs admitting that what Dems have been saying for years about Bush is true.

"I would certainly not send him to the United Nations" to represent the United States, said Tommy Thompson, the former Wisconsin governor and one-time member of Bush's Cabinet, midway through a spirited campaign debate.

Arizona Sen. John McCain criticized the administration for its handling of the Iraq War, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said, "I think we were underprepared and underplanned for what came after we knocked down Saddam Hussein."

Rep. Duncan Hunter of California said the current administration "has the slows" when it comes to building a security fence along the border with Mexico.

Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado recalled that White House aide Karl Rove had once told him "never darken the door of the White House." The congressman said he'd tell George W. Bush the same thing."

Bowa,

There is audio at the link of an interview with Pew, but you can look up the Pew site and find that info as well as I can.

If Hillary starts to run away with the nomination, I hope Condi runs.

Condi has been a terrible and inneffective Secretary of State, she will never be a presidential candidate.

I think her goal of heading the NFL after she leaves the WH may be a little more realistic.

-her goal of heading the NFL

Uh-huh.

I thought that was Jeff Gannon's goal?

There is audio at the link of an interview with Pew, but you can look up the Pew site and find that info as well as I can.

If that was true, you would have posted a link to something readable.

You listened to the audio, so you should have no problem positing a link to the actual poll that was discussed.

corky, you and others know good and well that the comment was about the UN, not about bush but I am sure more of you will misuse it anyway....

and I fail to see whats the big deal with republicans pointing out certain failings of the bush administration.....hell I have done that here even in the bottom of the lion's den of liberalism.
so it would be a grave mistake for dems to think of this as a weakness.

well I have looked this posting over and I cant find any mispelled words or such but I am sure since "I AINT GOT NO SCHOOLIN" that there has to be something there......

Oh, fuck off, Bowow.

I posted both text and audio of a report about a Pew poll, including the interview with a Pew representative. I am not anal enough to want to follow it up, particularly to save you the effort.

If the info is important to you, do your own research.

Sorry, BLT.

Tommy was talking about Bush. He isn't a UN basher like most of you guys.

So McCain didn't call Bosnia "Clinton's war". If Bosnia was a colossal disaster, like Iraq, he would have.

I posted both text and audio of a report about a Pew poll,

The text off he NPR site never supported your claim that " around 50 percent of the potential GOP primary voters still don't know Rudy's position on abortion"

Just post a link to the source document -- the pew poll.

How hard is that?

If the info is important to you, do your own research.

It's not. I don't believe your claim that "" around 50 percent of the potential GOP primary voters still don't know Rudy's position on abortion"

And I have seen nothing to dispute my position.

And not for nothing, a month old poll, even if it exists and I'm not sure it does, would not really be relevant considering that 2 more debates, numerous stories and reports on Rudy's abortion stance have happened since then.

i wouldn't want Tommy Thompson in the UN either.

While he was Sec of Health, an Afghani-American OBGYN went at his own expense to try to turn around the 'Laura Bush OBGYN Hospital'. The only OBGYN hospital for a couple of hundred miles.

Well, the conditions made Walter Reed look like a Hilton Hotel.

When this doctor wrote begging for such basics as sutures and clamps (while women were dying needlessly), he got a 'thank you for your service' letter in response to the dozens of urgent letters he wrote requesting immediate aid and supplies.

He left Afghanistan in disgust, and the "Laura Bush OBGYN Hospital' was closed.

I didn't expect you to say that. Interesting. What factors drive you to that conclusion? Are you a Republican or a conservative who feels Paul brings the party back to the Goldwater mindset?

If it's "get out of Iraq" why not go with the professionals at it - the Dems?

Honestly, I have voted Democrat in every election up until this one...and have switched parties so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primary. That was an interesting phone call to the State Committee, I'll tell yah...heh.

I have just taken a look at a lot of things that I think are frankly focused on destroying our way of life as Americans. The SPP/North American Union, Immigration, The RealID cards, The Federal Reserve and their hand in the total annihilation of the dollar. These are all things that I think are slowly moving us to a country that will not be a better place for our children than it is now (or the generation previous). Ron Paul is someone who opposes all of that.

As far as the Dems, and getting out of Iraq...well frankly, I don't believe them. Mike Gravel said it best: They can end the war now, by sending back the same bill with timetables in it. Defunding the war now will not affect troops this minute...but it will a few months down the road, and we can take steps to get out as we move that direction.

Basically, I don't think there is anyone out there who is going to put America first, other than Ron Paul. Not Israel first, not Mexico first...America.

I don't think there is any candidate out there who will have a chance to beat Hillary on the Republican side other than Ron Paul. If Hillary were to win, that would be 20 years of a Bush/Clinton White House. That is far too close to a monarchy for my taste.

New Poll on CNN today. 98% of the country feel that the leadership is dividing the country.

The United States isn't United anymore.

What a joke you are, Bowow.

I posted audio of the Pew Rep saying exactly that.

If you are going to be a baby about it, 'fraid I can't help you, sweetie.

Iraqibukkake

We had 20 years of Reagan/Bush, and only 8 years of Clinton.

I posted audio of the Pew Rep saying exactly that.

Then there should be no problem posting the source document.

and "If you are going to be a baby about it, 'fraid I can't help you, sweetie."

The Republican party is dead. I'm actually sorry to see them go. "The Kennedy wing..."has taken over. If Giuliani, McCain and Romney (ech) is all they got, they don't deserve to call themselves conservatives. Don't even bring up the corpse that's called Fred Thompson. He was on Hannity last night. He has all the energy of a 40 watt bulb.

www.msnbc.msn.com

roflmao!

Little Bowser gets awfully defensive whenever anyone doesn't fawn over Rudy the way he does.

I though he was going to have a conniption fit when Fred T. came on the scene.

Are you a Republican or a conservative who feels Paul brings the party back to the Goldwater mindset?

Hear,hear!!

That's not true, as far as I have seen, all the polls that Paul has won have all been unscientific.

If there is a story here -- it's that Paul has a passionate dedicated support on the net who have been moved to respond to these unscientific polls and vote in large numbers which have skewed the results over the scientific polling.

I think that is part of the story. But I think that we need to rethink what makes polling legitimate these days. Young people don't own landlines. What is frequently considered scientific polling is based off the antiquated notion of polling from landlines.

That is what frustrates me when you see the CNN message board deleted on who won the debate. Most people don't watch the debate, they only go by the "official" reviews of the debate, many of which don't even mention Ron Paul. If someone who wanted to get themselves informed were to read that message board that was deleted from my link above, it could perhaps get them to take a look at Ron Paul more closely. This is what will take a campaign from a grassroots to legitimacy...and the mainstream media is doing everything it can to prevent this from happening.

IRAQ, I got an email from some website I registered for to go commet on the debate and when I clicked the link. Like you said, it was full of comments from the Dem debate and I could not find where to comment on the GOP debate. You answered my question. They simply removed the page. Of all the networks having a debate I think CNN was the worst as far as censorship. I taped the other debates and I am going to go back and look at them again to see if the lineups on stage have been manipulated on every channel like it clearly was on CNN for both parties. Thanks for linking to that website.

Iraqibukkake

Granted...but my point still stands if Hillary were elected.

well for the last posting of the day.

NO PLEASE HOLD YOUR APPLAUSE...........

as I started the morning, it is evident to anyone where each party stands on the war on terror...the gop debated what to do to win it and the dems debated on just how we were going to lose it.............
remember monday morning, we were looking hard to find some place where a dem actually agreed with a candidate or said something good about the others,....and last night there was agreement on several key issues with more than a couple of the candidates......a sign of unity perhaps?
and also notice that the gop, instead of running away from bush which is the expected response and it was......instead was a strength in pointing out mistakes and how they could correct them..stop laughing, its possible..........
and the evolution question was answered well by all of them and to my satisfaction........

but after all is said and done......it wont matter a whole lot after this july.....
when the next president of the united states officialy throws his hat....which protects his bald head......into that ring,.........

have a great and prosperous day.....

The problem is that Fox is just as bad. When you look at their website, they don't even conduct a poll on who won the debate last night.

When they did conduct a poll, from the debates that they hosted, the only way you could vote is through text message only, because they knew how the results would turn out. Still, when the text message voting was occurring, Ron Paul was leading the entire night, and Hannity is actively campaigning online for people to text for Giuliani and Romney. The final tally basically had Romney edging out Ron Paul, with both of them having a 10+ point lead on Giuliani. At the end, even though it was text message only, they blamed the results on online voting spammers. I guess they're not aware that you use a phone to text message. But don't take my word for it...watch the clips. It is utterly revolting.

Mind you this is in a field of 10. If Ron Paul were to get the exposure of meeting these candidates on equal footing, I think you would continue to see the cream rising to the top.

I didn't know who Ron Paul was 6 months ago. After watching the debates and The Daily Show, he's the one I would like to see with the nomination. I still haven't made my mind up about the Democrats. It ain't Clinton.

Personal choice/savings accounts vs socialized medicine. Another divergence between the parties.

When this wage earner retired after 40 years I had no debt and about 5K in the bank.

In 2003 a malignant kidney was excavated from my right side. I'm very lucky to be alive and awfully happy that i paid into Social Security and a medical insurance plan.

Maybe those on the right can describe how a person with modest wages can rat hole a few hundred thousand dollars for the life saving operation.

Bushf'ckertwo:

Libs: Let's take a serious look at the jihadists, working with the rest of the civilized world for the best manner to deal with this very real problem, using force when neccessary. But knowing our enemy first -- so that we may defeat them.
Righties: Let's start a war in a secular country, opening the floodgates to more jihadists, turning the world against us as we barge in like a jock football trog who's spent a night in a trash can of grain alcohol.

Proud to be a lib. Goodbye, righties, we hardly knew ya.

Here you go...another disgusting example of the MSM and their censorship.

www.msnbc.msn.com

Look who's in dead last...Ron Paul. Their statement: Just please stop e-mailing us. Thanks.

Excuse me assholes, but people pick the president. Not corporations. Emails would indicate there is support and people want to hear more from Ron Paul.

Not so, say our corporate masters. WE decide who is worthy and who isn't. Utter fucking disgrace.

www.drawball.com

A direct copy of the web page that CNN censored. This is your media at work folks. Working for you. By "you", I mean corporations.

IRAQ LOL that msnbc ranking is complete BS. As for CNN blanking out the blog on the debate. Its just sad. I dont really have anything else to say about it. The only thing we can do is keep voting and keep pushing his message on youtube and other outlets. The more they block him out, the more theyre exposed and the more they lose their credibility.

Paul supporters sort of missed the point on the CNN blog. It was the Democratic debate that some (not all) of the Paul comments were removed. The poll was "who won" that debate. They posts were off subject.

The second poll, the Republican poll has many comments regarding Paul listed.

You can cry it's not fair all you want, but it's rather silly to be upset with CNN removing "Paul won!" comments on a blog about a debate he didn't even participate. Even with that, there are still quite a few Paul comments on that thread.

Now, if they remove them from the GOP debate blog that might have a bit more weight with me. It is rather silly to remove any posts though.

From Iraqibukkake's link (
www.whatreallyhappened.com )

CNN put up a comments page about tonight's New Hampshire GOP debate at "politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com2007/06/03/who-won-the-debate/
#comments."

Check the date and the link - it's to the Democratic debate, not the GOP one listed. They are wrong.

Second, if you want the link to the GOP debate blog, it's politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

( "href="http:// politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com2007/06/05/debate-scorecard-2/#comments" )

By giving tax breaks to buy insurance you'll be able to shop for the best plan.

Posted by OohRah at 2007-06-06 02:46 PM

oorah, are you really serious there? How much does the average "plan" cost? You really believe there will ever be tax breaks for people in the $500 to $1000 a month range?

The average Republican "tax cut" usually allows a family of four to buy the name-brand macaroni and cheese as opposed to the generic stuff. And that's about it.

Republican "tax cuts" are bullshit. A marketing ploy. Someone please tell me what he did with his great big tax cuts during the 6-year Republican mob rule. Opt out of the HMO and buy real health insurance? Yeah, right.

The only one of these debating assclowns that made any sense was Ron Paul and he's a no-starter. Less than a Ross Perot. And he knows it. Too bad he's not more youtube savvy, it might be his only chance.

This just further justifies my cynical position that no self-respectig individual would want the job anymore. We used to write essays in school about "what I would do if I were President". These days, the only reasonable answer is, hire a good legal team.

Bellaspapa - thank you! You nailed my sentiments when I heard that last night. How incredibly stupid and out of touch with where and what the problem is.

"But when it came to pure, unadulterated rambling, Rudy took the prize. Wolf simply could not shut him up as he, for example, discoursed endlessly about the "very, very important" issue of Scooter Libby's righteous pardon, since "a man's life is at stake." The irony of Rudy's improperly placed concern and compassion was thunderous."

"The idea here is to lower prices by making us all consumers."

Actually, the idea here is to enrich insurance companies.

The only thing wrong with the whatreallyhappened.com page is the date. If you click the drawball link, which is an actual rehosting of the page before it was deleted, you can see all of the commentary there. The page was posted at 9pm and the comments start from there...after which the page was deleted and a new message board thread started with the "official pundit" commentary.

Looks like they all got together and agree on the same line: I don't agree with the President, but agree with the Presidents' decision to go to war; somewhere in between going to war and the day before yesterday, I questioned the decisions he made; but today I agree with the President with what he is doing. They said nothing.

The follow-up should be, so if you were President, you agree with the present actions the President is taking. Lock them in and as the war gets worse, anyone who locks in a yes is done.

"Rudy, had me at Iraq.

America's mayor put the Republican party's Iraq policy into a single, powerful, and nearly irrefutable statement: "It's unthinkable that you would leave Saddam Hussein in charge of Iraq and be able to fight the war on terror."

Thank you, and good night.

But that wasn't Rudy's only moment. His human and humorous reaction to a lightning strike as he began to speak was exactly what voters want to see. Confident, funny, a regular guy who gets it."

"I happened to watch the debate at St. Anselm's College itself, in a room of about 100 Republicans invited by my radio station. Watching them was nearly as informative as watching the candidates. Their reaction to Rudy was strong, despite a strong pro-life contingent."

"By the end of the debate, it seemed to me that Rudy Giuliani was in command. He was equally handicapped by the crowded stage and at the mercy of the uneven questions but he did the superior job of making it all work for him. His answer on a pardon for Scooter Libby was particularly strong. He showed an appropriate passion about an injustice. He also was most effective in taking arguments to the Democrats. And John Edwards is considered the talented advocate?"

article.nationalreview.com

"And then there's Giuliani.
Set aside Rudy's two wins in liberal New York City. Set aside his inspiring performance as mayor on and after 9/11. Set aside the fact that he's literally on a first-name basis with every voter in America.
Set all that aside, and still this fact remains: If there is another serious, successful terrorist attack between now and the national conventions, the only question about 2008 will be whether the Democrats nominate Giuliani, too.
Again and again Tuesday night, Rudy Giuliani showed that on the big issues (not the "creation/abortion" obsessions of Wolf Blitzer), he "gets it." He knows that America's top three issues are national security, national security and national security, followed by illegal immigration, which is also a national security issue.
Is he pro-choice? Is he pro-gay? Who cares? He's pro-kick-terrorist-butt, and he's tough enough to do it.
Plus Giuliani is smart. Unlike Bush, who seems to take pride in his political ineptitude, Giuliani is a talented pol. When lightning strikes - literally in the case of Tuesday's debate - Giuliani knows how to seize the political moment"

news.bostonherald.com

"Amid unnerving CNN audio glitches, a lightning-inducing answer on abortion, and a cramped stage of candidates just one shy of a football team, Rudy Giuliani managed to elevate his status as the Republican frontrunner in last night's presidential debate at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire." www.humanevents.com

yes but rush said it best yesterday....
these are not real debates and the candidates had to take advantage of thier time and that also they couldnt make the mistake of letting thier campaign being hurt or guided by wolf blitzer......

Sorry but I don't accept Frauds and Neither should You. I would expect the same exact treatment if I decided one day to come in here trying to pass Myself off as someone else when people knew it was really Me. Sorry You don't understand this.

Larry

and another item that rush was correct on....

this wasnt some sort of uprising that the leftist socialist dems wanted to show it as......these peope were asked a direct question and they answered it, they werent all chomping at the bit to blast away..............

and regardless of any post from anyone here there is no doubt that thompsons comment was about the un, not bush and you will be hardput to convince me otherwise short of getting tommy to contact me.

sorry larry but my role is already taken and I understand that your goal is to be just like me.......but it just wont happen............tee hee......

these are not real debates

BL2, the real debates will begin when the sponsors decide that there is to cutoff all candidates who aren't polling at more then 10 or 15% of the vote.

there is no doubt that thompsons comment was about the un, not bush

That's absolutely correct. Bush rendered the UN obsolete for the most part as it should be -- which is a big part of why the rank-n-file of UN hates him so. Bush, more then any other president has shown the UN to be a corrupt, hypocritical and ineffective organization that panders to and inflames anti-American, anti-Israel sentiment throughout the world. As a peacekeeping organization which fosters human rights, tolerance and understanding, the UN has been an abject failure.

In fact, with the exception of UNICEF and the UN sponsored AIDS programs, the rest of the UN is ready for the garbage heap. Get rid of it already. It should go the way of he "league of Nations"

couldnt agree with you more....
the building would make for a nice condo for some "profiteers" as danni would put it.............and what a great view they could make even more money of the backs of the working class.....(more help for danni)

I still claim that one thing that it DID do was to provide a stark and crystal clear difference between the two parties on the war on terror as it is being fought on the front lines in iraq........

and now must go....have a great day

BL2, the real debates will begin when the sponsors decide that there is to cutoff all candidates who aren't polling at more then 10 or 15% of the vote.

Yeth... get that embarrassing Ron Paul outta there... ho ho ho !

Personally I'd like to see an Obama/Paul ticket.

Kucinich? Guy don't have a chance in hell. Smart man for sure, but he doesn't carry himself well I think.

Rudy? I wouldn't vote for the guy at all. It'll be same shit, new day, but now in an italian mafia sort of way, as opposed to southern good ole boy sort of way.

Mccain? I'm pretty confident the guy suffers from extended munchhausen syndrome. Sometimes he acts like he has a soul... then turns right around, pulls down his pants and says to everyone, come one come all.
