Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Friday, May 25, 2007

Democratic presidential rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama both voted against legislation that pays for the Iraq war but lacks a timeline for troop withdrawal. "Enough is enough," Obama, an Illinois senator, declared, adding that President Bush should not get "a blank check to continue down this same, disastrous path."

The Moveon influence wins out.

Good, on record for '08.

Rudy may win after all.

How does Obama and Clinton voting against this bill a good thing for Rudy? If anything it shows that they want to change the course in Iraq rather than keep on continuing with a failed policy.

"How is" not "how does"

Funny thing about teeth. If you don't use 'em you lose 'em. I think Barack and Hillary have some nothing about what last fall's elections proved. herm

McCain responds to Obama in tough enough, if predictable, language:

"While Senator Obama's two years in the U.S. Senate certainly entitle him to vote against funding our troops, my service and experience combined with conversations with military leaders on the ground in Iraq lead me to believe that we must give this new strategy a chance to succeed because the consequences of failure would be catastrophic to our nation's security."

When did being locked in a bamboo birdcage for 5 years qualify you for anything McCain? You are no Hero. You were an incompetent pilot who let himself get captured and did nothing for your country for 5 years while the real heroes continued the fight.

God, if all of our troops were like McCain, we would lose every damn battle that we engaged in.

Hero? I think NOT.

How many of your fellow pilots DIDN'T get captured John?

Many,
Although the bluntness of your post is appreciated I believe your premise is wrong.
Plenty of Aces had been shot down multiple times. Getting shot down is not a sign of a bad pilot, just an unlucky one.

Hilary voted no to cozy up to the Code Pink Crowd and get her lib credentials restored. I just wish Americans were smart enough to remember how often she changes skin.
Fuck, she doesn't flip flop, she does 180's so god damn often that it's impossible to kep track.

The good news is she's a cubs fan...

Captured Chair. Many got shot down and escaped.

I don't think you, I, We have to worry about Hillary. I really don't. We all want change, and she isn't it.

But great to see you back here chair. It was getting a little stale around here.

Hilary voted no to cozy up to the Code Pink Crowd and get her lib credentials restored.

In order to get lib credentials restored, one must have had "lib credentials" in the first place. Only brain dead ditto heads believe Bill or Hillary is a liberal. They're Democrats; they're not liberals.

So what is the dems position on iraq again? Those dumbasses seem like silly puppets dancing around on republican strings. They got mandated by the people to shake things up and end up shaking instead.

Only brain dead ditto heads believe Bill or Hillary is a liberal.

that depends on what your definition of "is" is.

It doesn't matter. They both don't have a chance. Neither does Guliani.

101,

Enjoying your prose again, thanks.

I'm rusty. It's going to take a little time to get my insults and my "swear generator" working.
Please be patient.

although hillary would like to think she's in the same class as Obama, she is not, she can vote 10 times against this war and one thing will always be true -> Obama is consistant, and hillary flip-flops and does 180's when the polls force her to.

Your generator will work better once you get your munt lubricated. Speaking of that, Rob's holding on Line 2.

You're the dumbfuck that brought up Bill not me. As far as Hillary, you don't get rated in the top 10 most liberal senator list by being a conservative you donkey dick.

Posted by 101Chairborne

Why don't you give us a few examples of Hillary's alleged liberalism?
And keep your fantasies about donkey's penises in your bedroom where they belong, OK?

and hillary flip-flops and does 180's when the polls force her to.- Audrey

She even does it before the polls. Every time she says something she goes into near-reverse the next time she goes there, then forward again, depending on the audience.

Ok--let me get this straight for Hillary-

"I voted for the war before I voted against funding the troops".

Riiiight--hey I guess if the shoe fits (flip flops) she should wear them.

As for Obama--empty suit.

Rudy--we'll have to see..

McCain--not going to happen..Great war Hero, served his country with honor. He's a terrible Republican and a worse Senator.

Edwards--the biggest phoney alive.

Romney--we'll have to see...

Fred Thompson--he has to enter first.

To see the shocking Scandal Index of the Clinton years, as compiled by the liberal Progressive Review (prorev.com) is to appreciate the Clinton's 24 belief that any progress in their leftist domestic and foreign affairs agenda could only be realized through the most nefarious activity much of which fit neatly into the criminal category. Under the listing of "Records Set'" by the Clinton administration (read: co-presidency), Progressive Review cites the following, of which I will only list a sampling:

As far as being a liberal goes, well, you be the judge:

"Expanding on the Zelig multiple-personality comparison, author and political commentator Kate O'Beirne calls Hillary a "skilled poseur," enumerating the ways in which she takes positions "entirely at odds with the words she proclaims from the housetops." Not the least being her advocacy for the little guy, when in fact Hillary is the second-biggest spender in the Senate after New Jersey's Sen. Jon Corzine.

Mrs. O'Beirne cites Hillary's "Liberal Quotient" from the Americans for Democratic Action, which was 95 last year, tied with far-left Senators Barbara Boxer and Richard Durbin, and her lifetime ADA rating of 95, which outscores both Senators Ted Kennedy (89.16) and John Kerry (88.7). NARAL scored her a perfect 100 percent since her election to the senate, and the National Rifle Association gave her the grade of "F." "

Sarkov

Dude you need to have your OCD looked in to.

What EXACTLY does the drivel you just posted have to do with how Hillary and Obama voted on this bill?

Wait, don't tax yourself trying to figure that out, lemme give you a clue, Blunderboy, NOTHING.

Seven years on and you're still mewling like some tit hungry kitten about Bill Clinton.

Unreal.

"Of the four Democratic hopefuls in the Senate, only Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware supported the bill. He said he did so reluctantly because he viewed the measure as flawed. But he added: "As long as we have troops on the front lines, it is our shared responsibility to give them the equipment and protection they need"

Okay the one useful thing this vote has taught us is that Joe Biden is a pussy who is no longer worthy of serious consideration.

Obama, Clinton and Dodd get to stay and play cos they voted against this POS Bill.

Also Edwards and Bill "Not a Chance" Richardson.

And then there were five.

6 if you include Gore.

Be Well.

For Murphy only a rethuglican will do. Murphy it appears you just don't love America.

Yes, Mr. B--I Do Love America.

Unless there is a Dem who understands the jihadists ideology--no, I won't vote Dem. The Dems are way over the end of the table --left.

Obama pretends it doesn't exist and Edwards thinks it's a bumper sticker slogan. Hillary just flipped flopped to pander to the base--it might work for the primary--but no-can-vote-for-in-the-
National-Election.

I am not so happy with the Repub candidates either.

Murphy

"Unless there is a Dem who understands the jihadists ideology--no, I won't vote Dem. The Dems are way over the end of the table --left."

Murphy,

Do you honestly believe that the American occupation of Iraq is fueling or fighting the jihadist ideology?

What about Afghanistan?

What about Pakistan?

What about Bin Laden?

The decision to enter Iraq and take down SH and install a US friendly ie "corporate friendly" regime in his stead, in order to ease worries, mostly from SA and Israel, and to appease greed from Big Oil, Helliburton, and the neo-pratorian crowd, has been been the single most disastrous elective step in the history of the country.

Be Well.

"I am not so happy with the Repub candidates either"

Who is?

Ron Paul is half crazy and he still makes more sense than the rest of them put together.

Interesting take on Congress's Constitutional Authority over Military Matters.

The Framers got it right, Congress is the Decider.

How does Obama and Clinton voting against this bill a good thing for Rudy? If anything it shows that they want to change the course in Iraq rather than keep on continuing with a failed policy.

well let me tell you then......these two as WELL AS RON PAUL WHO VOTED AGAINST GIVING THE MILITARY WHAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFULL.... THEY KNEW that they would not have the votes to cut funding all together and they voted no anyway.....so they will have to now suffer the consequences.

Late night at the golf course BL2? I wish we wound defund the war so the troops would just come home.

All the troops need is to get out. BL2 even if Iraq becomes a ME paradise why won't the Jihadists just go to a terror friendly country. We can't fight everybody. My guess is that you still want to keep raking in the war profits you are getting from your halliburton stock.

and this is a good place to put this since it probably wont make it here on its own....

according to a report from the ap....

blow job billy spends more of OUR TAX money than any expres in our history,.....
he has asked for 1.16 million this time.
WE PAY 501,000 for his office in harlem...while carter and 41 spend around 110 to 150k

blowjob billy has aldo asked for 78,000 just for TELEPHONE EXPENSES......and he has made FOURTY MILLION on speaking fees since leaving office.........

WHY?????????????

maybe he has more cleaning expenses for all those extra large blue dresses.....

and I have one more thing to add....
this is from the washington post written by john solomon.....not the ap.

now if you can get that picture out of your mind........yuk yuk./

"now for all you loony libs.....I would expect some anger from you for your golden boy RAPING THE US TAXPAYER ......."

Yeah like BLT cares about THAT!

HA!

Earth to BLT:

Clinton is getting a blowjob from the taxpayers in the instances you cite.

Bush and Cheny are actually RAPING the taxpayers.

The Dems are the true fiscal conservative party now.

Have been for a while.

Dems are socially progressive and fiscally conservative.

Reps are socially regressive and fiscal nightmares.

The Iraq War is gonna cost over 1 Trillion dollars when all is said and done, you dumb shit.

Christ man, why don't you complain about Edwards hair cut next?

BLT has no concept of scope, scale or context here.

Pathetic.

Be Well.

Congratulations! Obama and Hillary has shot themselves in the foot.

The indentured servants of Bill Clinton running Moveon.org has finally got a voice through Obama and Hillary. Now either the other hopefuls can cunnuingly exploit this and move ahead of these two anti-army candidates, or wait until Republicans swiftboat either one if he or she gets the nomination.

The tortured path the White House is getting a little clearer and narrower.

Hillary voted for the war and against it, what a loser. Her and her husband Rosie the liberal lesbian need to get lost, to save America

Wow, BL2 has finally jumped the couch! Awesome!

101, your earlier post was...frankly beneath you. You've made some great cogent arguments in the past; the junior high-level sexual insults don't help you, sir.

Congratulations! Obama and Hillary has shot themselves in the foot.

Has not!

From an editorial in the WSJ. Sounds about right to me...

"Senators Obama, Clinton and Dodd stood up and did the right thing--voting down the President's war policy," said Eli Pariser, MoveOn's executive director. "They're showing real leadership toward ending the war, and MoveOn's members are grateful. This bold stand . . . won't soon be forgotten."

We hope he's right about that last part. Here are three politicians bidding to be Commander in Chief, and they vote to undermine U.S. troops in the middle of a difficult mission, albeit knowing like Ms. Pelosi that their vote won't determine policy. Mr. Dodd and Mrs. Clinton both voted for the Iraq War resolution in October 2002, which means that they were for the war when it was popular but are against it now that public opinion has changed.

The vote marks the end of Mrs. Clinton's post-9/11 positioning as a national security hawk. Her 2002 speech supporting war in Iraq was among the most forceful in the Senate, and for a while she admirably stuck with that conviction. But as the antiwar furies have built in her party, she has bent with them and now says and does whatever it takes to deny Mr. Obama or John Edwards any running room to her left. Perhaps this will win her the Democratic nomination, but it will complicate her Presidency if she ever does make it to the Oval Office. The Iranians, among others, will have seen that she can be turned when the going gets tough.

Which brings us back to the current President. Whatever his mistakes as a war leader, Mr. Bush at least hasn't betrayed our allies or troops in the field for the sake of reviving his poll numbers. He was also right to defend the war powers of the Presidency against Congressional micromanagement. His obligation now is to do whatever it takes to succeed in Iraq so that the men and women fighting this war will not sacrifice in vain."

Hillary voted for war ,wake up

Obama flip-flopped on War funding.

here's what he said in April:

"If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker "wants to play chicken with our troops," Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday."
www.abcnews.go.com

Obvioulsy, Obama decided he did want to play "chicken" with our troops after all.

Overall, Obama was hurt much more then Hillary with his vote.

First, the obvious flip-flop above.

Second, the calculating way he refused to say which way he would go prior to the vote (and then voting NO after the bill already had passed) , smacks of the type of pandering "old school" political cowardice that is expected from Hillary -- but not from Obama who is supposed to be the "new democrat" who acts on principle, and with integrity.

Guess not.

Oh well, at least he doesn't have two bios about him coming out which trash him.

Bad bad week for democrats. Maybe on memorial day we should remember the new Democrats who never really existed in the first place.

LOL

Bowa-
I see Rush's "magic negro" scares you.

Bowa-
Just out of curiousity, what do you think would happen if Congress didn't fund Bush's war? (step by step, if you don't mind)

Bowa-
I may need to go, but I'm really interested in your answer.

I see Rush's "magic negro" scares you.

LOL

Following that logic, that any criticism of a candidate is proof that the candidate "scares' the person making the critique, that must mean all the GOP candidates must terrify most of the people here.

Obama doesn't "scare" me.

Actually it is kind of sad that he is proving to be as much of an opportunistic, pandering empty suit as almost every other politician is.

Bowa-
Man....you're totally ripped about the "negro".

Just out of curiousity, what do you think would happen if Congress didn't fund Bush's war? (step by step, if you don't mind)

If Congress refused to fund the war then the President could do nothing about it.

Congress controls the purse strings. The can fund or defund the war as they see fit. What they can't do is fund a war and then tell the the Presidnet, the Commander in Chief, how he is supposed to fight that war.

Man....you're totally ripped about the "negro".

Boyd, I am curious why are you focusing on his race so much?

I'm focusing on his stance on an issue completely unrelated to race, yet you keep bringing the word "negro' into the discussion -- why?

Bowa-
My point is that, if the war were not funded, the military would redeploy.

Bowa-
You're not a Limbaugh fan?

My point is that, if the war were not funded, the military would redeploy.

They would have no choice. The President cannot fight a war without funding by Congress.

What's your point.

Bowa-
My point is simple. Congress would not be refusing to fund "the troops", they would be refusing to fund the incompetent jackass that is our sorry-ass excuse for a President.

Not to put too fine a point on it.

Bowa-
You're not a Limbaugh fan?

A fan?

No.

I don't listen to him very often. When I do, I have found him entertaining.

What I know about the "magical Negro" issue, I read or downloaded from the internet. frankly, it is a non-issue. Limbaugh was riffing off of a LA Times OPED shich described a sociliological phenomenon found in movies called "the Magical negro". It raised many eyebrows in circles on both sides of the aisle and was certainly ripe for parody. And everything in Limbaugh's song was taken straight from the OPED or the discussions in the news about it.

"obvious flip-flop"?

Barack sed...

"My expectation is that we will continue to try to ratchet up the pressure on the president to change course," the Democratic presidential candidate said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I don't think that we will see a majority of the Senate vote to cut off funding at this stage"

And he was right.

Obama voted correctly against the war twice.

That aint a flipflop.

We're going in to look for weapons changing to
We're gonna go do some nation building to
We have to stop the terrorists.

That a fucking flip-flop.

They are also all lies.

It was always about the oil.

It's still about the oil.

GOP started this clusterfuck and the GOP refuse to end it.

The GOP must GO!

Be Well.

"frankly, it is a non-issue."

Frankly, it was race baiting and a further indicator or Rush's racism.

Not that careful observers needed any more evidence by this point.

Be Well.

Bowa-
It's not a "riff". Limbaugh played it all the freakin' time, for months. It's an audio minstrel. Listen to it.

Really gotta go. Later all, and best of luck.

My point is simple. Congress would not be refusing to fund "the troops", they would be refusing to fund the incompetent jackass that is our sorry-ass excuse for a President.

That may be what they are trying to do -- unfortunately for the Democrats, the Constitution doesn't give them the power to tell a president how to fight a war just because they think he's incompetant.

It's not a "riff". Limbaugh played it all the freakin' time, for months. It's an audio minstrel. Listen to it.

I did listen to it. It's a song parody of an issue in the news.

Limbaugh didn't originae the term "magical Negro', that was inthe headline of the OPED.

the Left should stop whining.

Nothing is stopping them from writing their own song parodies and attacking Republican candidates any way they see fit. And in fact, they do it all the time.

Frankly, it was race baiting and a further indicator or Rush's racism.

Spud, I don't think you are credible to say anything about "race baiting'.

I mean you cry racism whenever someone brings up a legitimate discussion about race that you don't agree with.

So coming from you, an attack on Rush for "race baiting' just means that he has taken an issue ion the news and framed it in such a way as to effect the most damage to your favorite candidate.

We all know Obama is black and that his race is an issue that cuts both ways -- both positive and negative.

Your attempts to shut down all debate on this relevant issue by calling those who engage 'race baiters' or "racist" refelcts the worst type of censorship and intolerance.

Bowser Babel Fish translation.

"Race-baiting is OK w/ me, fellas.

As a matter of fact, there is little someone on my side of the aisle could do, even if they were a convicted felon and an author of bestiality novels, that I wouldn't convolute logic and twist all rational and moral precepts completely out of shape to defend."

"Limbaugh didn't originae the term "magical Negro'..."

Using that logic, he's also equally free to use kike, nigger, towelhead, heeb, gook, wop, faggot, guinea, spic....

Bowa-
re: I did listen to it. It's a song parody of an issue in the news.

Doncha love the white guy's vocal caricature of the nigra Al? Cracks me up when Limbaugh plays it over and over again for months.

Dammit. Really going now. I hate you all, but RCADE even more.

"Spud, I don't think you are credible to say anything about "race baiting'."

That's OK Bowa, Spud doesn't find you particularily credible on any topic.

"I mean you cry racism whenever someone brings up a legitimate discussion about race that you don't agree with."

No, you refuse to acknowledge racism when it's presented to you factually.

"So coming from you, an attack on Rush for "race baiting' just means that he has taken an issue in the news and framed it in such a way as to effect the most damage to your favorite candidate"

No attack.

It is merely a repudiation of your mistaken viewpoint that A) Rush is not a racist B) The Parody was not more offensive than a minstrel show and C) Playing it over and over again wasn't obvious race baiting (and more red meat fer his "angry white male" demographic).

"framed it in the way as to do the most damage"?

You got that part right.

Glad you finally agree with Spud that it was an obvious hit piece on Obama.

Spud doesn't expect you to also acknowledge the obvious racism in the actions taken by roundboy, but at least you've made a small start toward moral progress.

"Good fer you!" sez Spud

Be Well.

"Your attempts to shut down all debate on this relevant issue by calling those who engage 'race baiters' or "racist" refelcts the worst type of censorship and intolerance"

Spud does not attempt to shut down debate.

Ever.

Get that through yer thick skull.

Spud is all about livening up the debate.

And smartening up the debate.

There was no useful debate in the replaying of the minstrel-esque song.

Bowa is trying to take Racism off the table by downplaying evidence of it in this action and others taken by Limbo "the bar lowerer".

The longer you keep trying to pull off this "legitimacy" argument the more of a neo-clown you look like, Bowa.

Comments?

Discussion?

Be Well.

Using that logic, he's also equally free to use kike, nigger, towelhead, heeb, gook, wop, faggot, guinea, spic...

Boyd, don't be silly. Those are meant to be derogatory terms and any use of them could only be considered derogatory.

on the other hand, the term "magical negro" as expressed in the Op_ed that Rush drew his inspiration from, was a term coined by Spike Lee in a discussion about racial archetypes in film and fiction.

Inthe Op-Ed, the write took this fictionalized archetype and made the case that it could apply to Obama and help explain his meteoric rise in the American consciousness.

the Op-Ed wasn't racist. The topic is a valid one. Rush had every right to parody it. if his intentions were racist, that is something only he could know. Such a conclusion can't be drawn from the parody itself.

"...don't be silly. Those are meant to be derogatory terms..."

Do you actually believe Rush hasn't been using it derogatorially? Yes or no?

I'm just trying to see how tethered you are to reality.

Congratulations! Obama and Hillary has shot themselves in the foot.

Posted by takitez

By whose standard, the exploiters on the right. The fact that you and the rest of the right wingers make a statement like that shows how disingenuous you really are. As I recall Obama has been against the war from the beginning so that vote would be par for the course for him. Secondly, they both voted for the bill that Bush vetoed that actually funded the war. So you see if you really wanted to be real about it you would look at all of the facts not just the parts that support your cause.

Bowa, it shows from Limbaugh across you all are really afraid of Obama and rightfully so. You can't debate his intelligence and character so you play the race game which is a predictable right wing move. Then you all wonder why you don't have people of color signing up for the Republican party. You're racist at the core and the sooner you acknowledge that the sooner you can deal with it personally. I'll give you two more recent examples from your party....Trent Lott and Strom Thurmond. Enough said.

Unless there is a Dem who understands the jihadists ideology--no, I won't vote Dem. The Dems are way over the end of the table --left.

MURPHY

Understand this: The Iraq War has created many times the number of Mideast radicals there were before. Moderate Arabs, who supported us wholeheartedly in the aftermath of 9/11, now hate us. Governments who offered to help stamp out radicalism after 9/11 were spurned by Bush, and are now helpless as their popululations are now firmly Anti American where they weren't before.

Bush and Cheney's actions have done more to increase Jihadism than any two people in history.

Our own intelligence services have concluded just that - 4 times in a row now.

What we need is less of YOUR kind, and maybe...just maybe one day the Middle East in general won't hate us like they do now, when they didn't before. All thanks to your Dear Leader W.

Thanks for nothing. Worse than nothing. The absence of what good was there before that's now a boiling cauldron of hate towards America.

Next time we're attacked remember that THESE attackers might have not cared one way or the other UNTIL George and Dick and Donald got their dirty hands on our countries rudder. THEY steered us to the precipice.

Now fold up into the wall like a good Murphy Bed should do. We aren't asleep anymore jackass.

(pardon my typos...watching TV and typing don't go too well together LOL)

and so I come back a a day or two later and still noone on the left dares to question the spending request from CLITon.......and if it were bush 41 or junior when he is out........well the screams would be deafening........

and spudmiester said.........

BLT has no concept of scope, scale or context here.

but of course as WE ALL KNOW......if I agreed with him and his liberal lacky homeboys......then my concepts would be of such grand scale and scope and my context would be of world wide porportions.........

but alas.....as always...someone with other views from the right......well shit son.....there are just not enough trailor parks.

and just heard discussion about these two clowns and I heard it on little georgie's show so it has to be true since they are so far to the left.....except for will, of course......

and they supposedly waited and waited until the very end and then obama voted.....and THEN hillary voted.....and the person talking about it who has been there often says that this is the proceedure for hillary.....she waits for obama to vote and then she votes.....prehaps to see which way he is voting???????????????

and if thats true, then is that leadership or CYA

oh yeah and one more thing....

they just showed the clipps from pelosi..

'there is a new congree in town'

and chucky schumer.....no more rubber stamps........and of course stewart then said.....well they dug around and found thier rubber stamp.....

so where is this new congress in town anyway........wasnt the first 100 days supposed to bring us to shangra la......or has reality set in from that campaign???????

BL2

Ah. Who knows if Hillary is following Obama's lead or not. Who cares?

Don't forget the Repubs holding votes open for hours, bills put to votes no one even had a chance to read beforehand, the bully tactics and threats against their own, totally unrelated crap snuck onto 'terrorism' bills so they could hold it aginst Dems for being "defeatist' if they voted against a 'flag waving' bill like they did with Kerry and others.

Facts are Hillary and Obama voted and Congress now works 5 days a week instead of the 1 1/2 days a week they were under the Repubs. That ought to make you feel better.....although I know you're probably pissed Congress is actually looking into a few things left unattended to the last 6 ears.

PS BL2

Bush's veto pen, never used until now, works after all those years of no use. Now it's being put to misuse.

Congress can't pull the troops out of Iraq and you surely know it, but would rather imply they flip flopped on Iraq.

Couldn't be farther from the truth. Dems won't leave the troops hanging out to dry. In fact, Americans trust Dems in EVERY catagory more than Reps including defense and national security.

WIth the results Bush has gotten in Iraq in our 5th year now, we can only surmise you're as mentally challanged and stubborn as Bush if you aren't tired of the same old same old in Iraq and getting worse under Bush's watch all the time. Hey, this is Bush's war of choice.

Bush is Bin Laden's favorite president of all time. He gave Bin Laden everything he ever wanted. An America draining money, a ruined American reputation, anger at the U.S. from formerly moderate Arabs who wanted to help us post 9/11 and now hate us, and Iraq a great training ground for Al Qaeda and others who couldn't have cared less til George invaded Iraq.
