"Harry Pot-head and the Prisoners of Abu Ghraib?"

"Harry Pothead and the Deciderers Stone?"

"Harry Pot-head and the Order of the Phukdat!"

Apparently none of the above highly anticipated novelties will be occuring as the Brits decide to take Prince Harry off of the list of guys going to Iraq from the UK.

In Harry's favor it wasn't his decision.

Was it the right one?

Yes, it was.

Be Well.

Harry Pothead and the Deathly Hollowpoints?

Be Well.

Good. The kid would have had a bullseye painted on his fatigues from day one. Harry's not happy, but he needs to think of the overall protecting of his entire squad as they all would have been highly targeted just to get at Harry.

Chris,

Excellent point. Not so much about his life, but rather the chaps along side him that would be attacked in an attempt to kill him.

I see recently Barbara Bush was following Harry's footsteps in the war effort. She is taking no bottles of champagne prisoner in S.America. Good for you Babs!

"There have been a number of specific threats, some reported and some not reported, that relate directly to Prince Harry as an individual"

Yes and the threats to all of the mother's sons who have died already in this farce were certainly unspecific and unreported...

Anyhow the "poor" soldiers already seem to be doing quite a good job of being targeted and dying without the help of the rich and famous, just the way I am sure it was intended.

Non-story if there ever was one

Everyone knew it would never happen. You're either a soldier or you're not-he ain't

"Non-story if there ever was one"

In the sense that it's just about one life in a world of billions you'd be right.

But the UK, alongside the Aussies were the only folk to shoot their way into Baghdad and now Blair is stepping down, the Brits want out and Harry aint going.

In terms of it being a indicator of a larger trend it is kinda newsworthy.

Beside's Harry Pothead jokes are
FUN!

Be Well.

I'm glad Prince Harry is not going to Iraq. I think he would do a superb job if he did serve in Iraq, but the media hype of him serving would indeed put extra danger on the troops as he would be a trophy kill or a main target of kidnapping by the terrorists...

the little twinkie should have joined the girl scouts if he needed a uniform so badly. heavens do people really get hurt in wars?

Now I think he can get sent to Iraq with his troop and the media refused all access to the Uk forces in Basra for couple of months or they can play along and say nothing.

The frenzy that was there on him being sent can be forgotten and he can go quitely as with other squaddies.

Don't be surprised if that happens.

Did anybody really think he would go?

I liked it when he punched that reporter in the face.

big shot. he can punch a reporter but he is to special to go to battle with normal british soldiers. He is another Bush girl

"big shot. he can punch a reporter but he is to special to go to battle with normal british soldiers. He is another Bush girl"

Actually, this is the opposite situation. He wants to go and the government won't allow it.

oh i am certain that is the case

Too bad...I thought he might get a chance to wear his Nazi costume again, but no such luck.

Harry absolutely should have gone, but he should have under a guise of a different name, If his own soldiers sold him out and spread the word that he is there, well what does that say about the Brittish Army. Pat Tillman had to be a monster target for AL-Queda but the US got him first(most likely due to his beliefs). Harry should not get special treatment and should serve just like the rest of the soldiers from Brittain, problem was the Royal family wanted to make it a royal publicity stunt, I guess blue blood and red blood just don't mix.
Let's not forget we have US senators children serving in Iraq and they are high profile targets, not to mention we ask for teh bush daughters to serve(or is this just posturing)but the US doesn't need all the fan fare that a so-called royal family does. I am disappointed, he wanted to go and serve so he should be given the right to die for his country just like any other briton, just don't be dumb shits and publicize his unit, his name and where he will be deployed....and if you must get the glory for him serving wait till after his finshed to recognize it.

All this bullshit about trophy kill, any American over there is a trophy kill, royalty is bullshit and so is this decision.

Oohrah, were you saying Pat Tillman shouldn't have gone, and that you wouldn't want him in a unit you would have served in, he was just as high profile....the most high profile of any US soldier to have served. What about serving with Jimmy Webb from Lejeune, he has to be a high profile target, would you not want him to serve.

All this leads to is to allow the socialites to say, well we are high profile and so are children would be targets, that is why it's a war for the ordinary persons of America.....complete bullshit.

Nothing but a PR campaign to try and give the spoiled royals some credibility in the eyes of an public whose attitude towards the family that simply leaches of it's country while contributing nothing is quickly souring.

This kid knew he would never go. Grams and Daddy will pretend they tried though.

Fuck the Queen!

People of privilege have the choice to serve, as do those of lesser means. That one would step forward (Tillman) speaks volumes about his character.

*********************

Yes, and the lack of others of priveledge stepping forward and rather living up the good life speaks volumes about their character and the character their families have instilled in them via example.

The September 25, 2005 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper reported that Tillman held views which were critical of the Iraq war and did not support President Bush's re-election. According to Tillman's mother, a friend of Tillman had arranged a meeting with Noam Chomsky, to take place after his return from Afghanistan. Chomsky has confirmed this. [14] The article also reported that Tillman urged a soldier in his platoon to vote for John Kerry in the 2004 U.S. Presidential election.[11]

Ooh,

I asked what you thought about Tillman, whether it's a hinderance or not.......but to the fact that a very famous individual serves, who knows unless military decides to divulge that information. The media may jump on a story, but no one has to know where that individual is sent, what troop outfit and so on unless they want it known. Harry could very easily serve as could the queen for that matter, if they didn't use it as a publicity stunt then no one but his her own outfit would know, and if they outted that individual I am sure there would be a reason. If it put soldiers in greater harms way than say rushing into a war without proper planning and adequate body armor and without a decisive set of goals, then military has the means to deal with those types of individuals both within the scope of law, and within in the scope of soldiers handing out their own justice(bar of soap scene from FMJ comes to mind). Anyway, I just don't see how these should prevent him from serving, it's a big facade to me.

Tillman is a far cry from Prince Dumbass.

If Tillman stayed in the NFL and then blew out his knee, we'd never heard of him again.....hell, I never heard of him before he was killed.

Prince Dumbass has a slightly higher profile.
