Southern Baptist, Army, Chaplain, and married.

You would have thought some aspect of his life would have said "don't do it".

Makes you wonder about the hypocrisy that bellows out of the "I hate" crowd.

You get no defense of Falwellites and Robertsonites from me, but somehow I gotta learn more about how and why this "captive" never escaped. herm

It's called-"Stockholm Syndrome"-he did threaten to kill her too.

"Ironically, Lau was featured in the base newspaper last June in an article about the virtues of a marriage retreat arranged by the Army at Lake Placid. "
...
"At his court-martial Thursday, Lau was convicted of adultery and making a threat. "

You just can't make up shit any better than this.

WOE:

Ain't that the truth!

Lighten up, at least he was straight and she wasn't a child!
We'll send him to a weekend pray-a-thon and his sins will be washed away.
Sincerely;

Talibaptists for Purity (More or Less)

wow

Kidnapping, rape, forced imprisonment and the constant threat of death, and he gets 5 MONTHS????
He'd get ten times that sentence if they'd found a rock of crack cocaine on him.

The bastard should get a court martial and a firing squad for this.

What a turd.

typical of "evangetical" ministers, I believe it is coded into their religion.

typical of "evangetical" ministers, I believe it is coded into their religion.

5 months for rape and false imprisonment? God, that's unfair (no pun intended).

Had he been black he would have gotten at least life if not a death sentence

OK, I read the article and it is not like a Silence of the lambs situation. She more or less cooperated to a point.

'Tyler said the sex was consensual but took place "under duress."'

The victim was certainly brainwashed or something. Sick bastard got off with a slap on the wrist.

At least he's not gay.

Sincerely,

General Peter Pace
Chairman
Joint Chiefs of Staff

YEAH!

Quick ---- one of you talibabtist lecture me on how there can be no "morals" without "Christian" religion!

funny flag axiom!!

And to think it's the gays that are labeled as being immoral. I'm sure gay marriage will somehow be blamed for ruining the sanctity of his marriage.

So a Baptist minister can keep a gimp in his garage, another can use meth and sleep with gay prostitues, a Florida Congressman can try to pick up young boys, but somehow the Republicans are the party of family values?

Do as I say not as I do.

They're hypocrites. They put themselves on a moral pedestal and when they fall off they hide behind the "I'm only human defense."

"My wife and I were in a lull in our relationship and looking for something to spice up our sexual relations," Lau told the court.

Jesus, if keeping a foreign sex slave against her will and threatening to kill her is a way to "spice up" his love life, what does this guy do when he wants to get downright freaky?
Actually, I don't want to know...

the hypocrisy that bellows out of the "I hate" crowd.

Well, you've identified four out of 2.1 billion Christians. The rest of us are equally imperfect. The difference: we mostly acknowledge it.

My church still has a recovery crew in New Orleans, helping people clean out their homes. Maybe you can step out of your air conditioned office sometime, take them some lemonade?

Five months in prison for false imprisonment and multiple rape counts? I'd go to jail over twice as long for having a gram of marijuana in my pocket. Maybe civilian justice is more harsh than military justice after all?

I, for one, welcome our tectonically massive ugly lesbian overlord.

The truck just has to drive back and forth a few times. The dust can be vacuumed up after rush hour.

You're counting on the fact that most Liberals don't know arithmetic and will just take your word for it.

Most of the lefty clowns on this board don't give a rat's ass about national security. They're still pissed about Clinton's impeachment and Gore's failure.

Richardson shuold be our next president. Not only is he governor of New Chiuhaha, but he was once ambassador to Beanerboro.

Whose idiocy is on display everyday, Vermin?

What, exactly, is Beanerboro, Vermin?
Is that a term that you heard in church?

Only four, really vern? I bet I can name a lot more than four and they are just the ones on tv.

You mean to tell me that christians don't judge others based on their "immoral actions" but when they get caught doing the same they want everyone to pray for them and just forgive and forget?

What does your church being here in NOLA have to do with this topic?

"Whose idiocy is on display everyday, Vermin?"

Rasta, don't forget his confusion over
the difference between a decimal fraction and a percentage.

And he's the one who claims that "Liberals don't know arithmetic"!!!

Hans

Vernon is right - stereotyping Christians is wrong. Of course he'd be making a much better argument if we wasn't a total dick.

Stereotyping Christians is wrong, especially the brown ones down in Beanerboro.

C'mon guys, everyone knows he did this only because he was an alcoholic... Oh, he didn't blame it on alcoholism yet?
Oops. Well, reread this post in a couple of days and it will make more sense...

Apparently another faux Christian. Many tares among the wheat.

13"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

15"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

21"Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

24"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall."

Matthew 7

"Apparently another faux Christian."

Passing judgement, macv1972?

Perhaps you need to read your Bible:

1 Cor 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Psa 50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself.

John 8:16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

Shame on you, macv1972.

Hans

Sure, let people like this serve in the Armed Services but we gotta make sure Wiccans don't get a proper headstone for their graves when they have the misfortune to die defending the 'freedom of religion' in the United States.

Gees, an oprotunity to bash the military and religion in one shot, and only 35 posts. You guys are getting slow.

Holy toledo! Vernon tried math again? HERE? The old man must just love to get smacked around: wainyan.hulkhost.com

Just as the democrat party is being run by people with values that sometimes seem to come way, way out in left field, the republican party is run by people who are so far right, it scares me.

On one end, you have a group who, no matter what the cause, there is nothing worth fighting for. On the other end, you have the people who think we should wipe every non-Christian off of the map. Good ol' love they neighbor.

The headline says enough.

Hey, but at least we're keeping the gays out of the military!

We should not condone immoral acts.

In America everything has been reduced to a business, with great emphasis on marketing. People are expendible and religion, in any delusional form, is sacred and stands over us all.

Why am I not the least bit surprised. Sex and religion always go together.

Give me your soul and I'll sell it back to you, the preacher says.

That gets a funny flag and noteworthy flag for the Pulp Fiction reference.

"Go get the Gimp"

"But he's sleeping"

"Well, wake him up"

But you were one of the 'christians' bashing Sean Penn for trudging through that sludge they called water in NO, trying to help people.

Which is it?

Commonsense,

I have to correct you:

"Bring out the gimp."

"The gimp's sleepin'."

"Well I guess you'd better go wake him up then."

But you were one of the 'christians' bashing Sean Penn for trudging through that sludge they called water in NO, trying to help people.

Seems like a pretty decent move from where I sit - Penn trying to help people in NO, that is.

I'm tired of all this PC stuff. Why do you think the illegal alien come over. Iy's not like he's a child molester. This lady had to have known what she was getting into and if not, she knew the risks. If he was a Muslim, no body would in the middle east would care, because there women know their place. I would rather have this happen to illegals and this get around so all other illegals. I would rather have this happen to illegals than have then stealing tax payer monies for health care, foodstamps, and welfare. I have no sympathy for illegals.

Commonsense,

More like you misjudging me, Hans.

Note I began my statement with "apparently." As in, the story gives the appearance of a false professing believer; however, it is possible that the individual could be a genuine believer caught up in a serious moral fall, from which, only the grace of God can rescue him, should God grant him repentance and he turn back and be renewed by God's forgiveness. That's what Christ's dying on the cross is all about. He paid the penalty and satisfied God's wrath and justice for His elect children; chosen by God in His electing love, and then justly gives them mercy. No merit inherent in those whom God has chosen; the choice is entirely in God's good pleasure. That's why grace is so amazing.

As for judging, we are not to condemn others; their hearts and actions condemn them. However, we certainly can know them by their fruit.

So a Baptist minister can keep a gimp in his garage, another can use meth and sleep with gay prostitues, a Florida Congressman can try to pick up young boys, but somehow the Republicans are the party of family values?

"The headline says enough..."

Could it be that, when a liberal is guilty of such offensive behavior, it's expected; but, when a conservative (especially one associated with the church)does so, it's news...hence, the headline?

"Could it be that, when a liberal is guilty of such offensive behavior, it's expected; "

Got an example?
Or you just full of shit as usual?
