Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger lent his support to Republican presidential candidate John McCain at a Manhattan fundraiser Thursday. "I think that the most important quality for a president is character," Kissinger said.

Character ? You mean as in Richard Nixon ?

"When I have a question about something that's going on in the world, I call Dr. Kissinger and he is able to connect the dots for me," McCain said"

Kiss(inger) of Death sez Spud!

Walnuts McCain goes running to the most ironic recipient of the Nobel Peace prize EVER?!

WTF?!

Spud would never give Kissinger a peace prize.

A POS prize definitely but not the other.

Be Well.

"Character ? You mean as in Richard Nixon ?"

Well he was a character...

Remember his trip to the Great Wall of China?

"It truly is a great wall"

He just kept saying that over and over.

Spud reckons he "must of been high!"

He "must of been Soooo HIGH!"

Ha! Deth is a bit of a TOOL Spud today!

Great line from Pulp Fiction...

Keitel as Wolf...

"Just because you are a character doesn't mean you have character"

Spud luffs that line.

Be Well.

Reminds me of a joke we've been telling ourselves for awhile:

How many chickenhawks does it take to clumsily attempt world domination.

Spud, you beat me to it....

Kissinger is the kiss of death for McCain...

Scarey is agree...

"Kissinger is the kiss of death for McCain..."

John "Walnuts" McChameleon, whose stripes change depending on who just walked into the room, admits to using Kissyface as a sounding board?!

Hear that?

That was the sound of the last of John McCains personal intergrity crumbling into dust.

Is a sad sound.

He was quite a guy at one time, they say.

Be Well.

It doesn't matter who runs with McCain. I may have to eat crow on this, but I'm confident McCain will not be the Republican candidate for President after the primaries. He's made too many enemies within the party.

Oh! OOH! Oh! That changed my mind, I am going to vote for him!

Goodbye McCain..."kissinger of death" indeed. I was gonna type that, but spud beat me to it.

Henry Kissinger
How I'm missing ya
You're the Doctor of my dreams
With your crinkly hair and your glassy stare
And your Machiavellian schemes
I know they say that you are very vain
And short and fat and pushy but at least you're not insane
Henry Kissinger
How I'm missing yer
And wishing you were here

Henry Kissinger
How I'm missing ya
You're so chubby and so neat
With your funny clothes and your squishy nose
You're like a German parakeet
All right so people say that you don't care
But you've got nicer legs than Hitler
And bigger tits than Cher
Henry Kissinger
How I'm missing yer
And wishing you were here

This endorsement from the man George W looks to for guidance on Iraq more than any other.

The same man with the same plan that didn't work for Vietnam (keep throwing troops and resources at it even if it clearly isn't working).

Seems like someone would have caught onto that fact in the White House and kept Henry away from the Oval Office. But, since when did W or Cheney even WANT advice from anyone not on the PNAC 'approved list'.

I always thought Kissinger was a closet NAZI, dressing up as Gerhing, with a riding crop and a monacle and strutting around singing,"If I were a Dictator"!.

I see how Kissinger is earning his Nobel Peace Prize.

In re: Kissinger

I am always suspicious of people who live for years in America and still have such a heavy German accent....or any other accent for that matter...

My speech instructors have told me that those people don't really listen to other people...

"Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy."
Kissinger as quoted in "The Final Days" - Woodward and Bernstein

He's baaaacckkk. He never really went away.

"Of the outside people that I talk to in this job I probably talk to Henry Kissinger more than just about anybody else. He just comes by and I guess at least once a month," Cheney tells Woodward. "I sit down with him."

Asked whether the president also meets with Kissinger, Cheney told Woodward, "Yes. Absolutely."

The vice president also acknowledged that President Bush is a big fan of Kissinger.

"Now, what's Kissinger's advice[on Iraq]: 'Victory is the only meaningful exit strategy.' ..........Kissinger's fighting the Vietnam War again. Because in his view the problem in Vietnam was we lost our will. That we didn't stick to it,"

He says Kissinger is telling the president to stick to it, stay the course. "It's right out of the Kissinger playbook,"

Woodward on 60 Minutes - October 2006.

Want more of this? Vote for McCain.

Walnuts McCain. LOL, it has a nice ring to it.

"Military men are dumb, stupid animals to be used as pawns for foreign policy." - Kissenger

I think I'll hold on to this little gem for the next time a righty brings up Kerry's "stuck in Iraq" line.

Ha! Spud is luff his Kurt Vonnegut.

Spud is read a li'l bit from "Wampeters, Foma and Granfaloons" afore hitting the hay last night.

Kurt talks about meeting Dr Daniel Elsberg at the 1972 Republican National Convention.

Dans the man wot made them Pentagon Papers public, btw.

Doc Dan sed this to Kurt about Henry...

"Henry has the best deal Faust ever made with Mephistopheles"

Kurt found the remark "ravishing"

Spud quite concurs.

Kurt talks to Dan about seeing Henry on teevee...

"I told my friend that I had watched Dr Kissinger on television, while he made gifts of Dutch uncle smiles and autographs to a pair of little girls in white organdy. I was glad Elsberg had brought up the subject of Mephistopheles, because the scene had seemed definitely evil to me.
Little girls represent life at its most playful and promising, I said. And anybody in Doctor Kissingers job had a lot to do with random, pointless deaths in Vietnam these days-- even deaths of little girls in white on our side. So evil came with the job. Under the circumstances, I found it ugly that a man in such a job would give out Dutch uncle smiles and autographs"

Strewth! Henry's still at it, of course.

From "In a Manner which Must Shame God, Himself"

Kurt Vonnegut Jr. 1972

Dr Henry "Power is the Ultimate Aphrodisiac" Kissinger is still a very ugly man.

Still gifting them "Dutch uncle smiles".

Woo Hoo!! The Spudthread rolls on like some kinda onstoppable juggernaut of a thread.

Spud is dead chuffed by all this.

Be Well.

ladies and gentlemen,....

if you happened to be on texas state hiway 290 heading west yesterday morning, you would have seen the blue smoke coming from the car making its way towards yet another winning day at the links...
it was a full fledged epifany(sp)....and it had to do with presidential politics...

they were discussing newt and one caller said that JUST LIKE WITH CLINTON....if your wife cant trust you then why should the country....and I agree.
and then the commentator said something ....
if right is right and wrong is wrong then what difference does it make what letter comes after your name.....
and they are both correct....

so newt AND MCCAIN have now been dropped several places on the BL2 presidential race.......

thank you
thank you..

please wait I am sure breathlessly for the new front runner....and libs.....you wont like it because he could kick the shit out of ANYONE you put forth....even hillary........

well spud......you will be waiting with bad breathlessly............yuk yuk.....

I don't think Kissinger's endorsement is going to do the trick for McCain. Unless there's some unforseen disaster, there's probably nobody in the race that can overtake Giuliani. None of them have gotten me excited so far. Might be interesting if Fred Thompson jumps in though.

EXACTLY........and you have jumped the gun on the EXCITING and LONG AWAITED announcement of the bl2 official presidential candidate of choice...

thompson was great this morning on fox news sunday.....

abortion.....he is pro life and thinks roe v wade was bad law

gay marriage...all for tolerance but a marriage is between a man and a woman and ALSO BELIEVES its a state right to decide for sure......

iraq......do same as bush but be more reactive to things not working....would not cut and run or call for the defeat of the United States of America.....

immigration......Comprehensive reform....

looks to be the real thing as long as his conservative values translate to all things financial......tie up those bags of money........

Could Kissinger actually say McCain's name without having to take a nap afterward?

He's just an old fart who is trying to hook himself to anything and everything that passes him by!

Go ahead and support McCain. Who cares???

"He's just an old fart who is trying to hook himself to anything and everything that passes him by!"

Yeah, like chairing the 9/11 Commission.

Spud remembers Dumbya not even considering the idea of a commission on 9/11 until he advanced the idea of a 10 person panel wif ole Hank as the chairguy.

Spud remembers Dumbya being "suprised" and disappointed when Kiss o' Death was forced to
resign.

"Go ahead and support McCain. Who cares???"

Spud cares cos Spud thinks it's a bad idear to let this massively ego-centric old man back near anything resembling real power.

Hank always thought the Vietnam war was lost due to "lack of Will" and in Iraq he sees a chance to redeem himself with a "do-over".

The sorties and fly bys going on in Iran at the moment haff a real familiar ring to Spud. Reminds Spud of the illegal bombing of Cambodia and Laos that was put together at Nixons behest by the Nobel Peace Prize winning Kiss o' Death.

The fact that Dumbya is a fan is well known, the fact that John "The Maverick" McCain is as well, is news.

Not good news, mind.

Maverick? Ha! That kills Spud!

Spud saw this one at the Wonkette today.

Gave Spud a giggle.

Be Well.

John www.youtube.com">Walnuts/a> McCain!

Be Well.

Try that agin...

John
Walnuts McCain!

Be Well.

"Kissinger is the kiss of death for McCain..."

McCain is the kiss of death for McCain.

Kissinger Backs McCain

Great news for the Democrats.

Spud,

What a great memory. I really must learn to do that too.

All of your points are well taken.

Be well.
