Russia and China have raised objections to nearly every Western proposal for new U.N. sanctions against Iran over its nuclear ambitions except a ban on arms exports, according to a working paper.

Show me the evidence of an Iranian nuke weapons program.

I thought so.

www.nti.org

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck the odds are its a duck, you want to bet a nuclear explosion on it?

... The question I would like to have answered, where is the evidence that the Iranian program is anything other than peaceful? The IAEA has no evidence, the CIA has evidence yet we are bombarded by baseless propaganda about it.

Since when has a lack of evidence ever stopped Bush and Cheney from a pre-emptive bombing attack on anyone?

Iran got nuke Weapons Information?

WTF? So what? Anyone with an internet connection can get nuke weapons info. How is that anything to base a war on?

You warmongers have to do better than that.

Iran denies having them so ipsofatso they must have them

Oh no problem, Bush's next move maybe the Sudan...it was announced today that there are huge OIL deposits there....

And of course because there has been genocide there he can use that as an excuse....

Ipsofacto

en.wikipedia.org

well id bet the reason for this is that russia and china are the ones selling iran the technology to produce nuclear weapons,,,,call me a cynic

be careful cheka, we don't want those pesky facts getting in the way of the bush bashing....

bash on chavez lovers

We were told by the Bushies Saddam had nukes.
They didn't lie did they?
Iran has gotten plenty of nuke education from Pakistan. The IAEA even bumped into pakistani scientists at an Iranian nuke site.
But Russia and China are just protecting their interests in their oily little cash cow.
Sort of like we do for Israel. Only we're THEIR little cash cow. Funny how things work out.

Meant to add, the Security Council veto needs to be scrapped.
France?
UK?
It's been almost a century since they mattered. Never mind that one country can thwart the will of the rest.

The question I would like to have answered, where is the evidence that the Iranian program is anything other than peaceful?

Just a little tidbit of common sense for the atrociously fucking ignorant among us....

Entities which spend a significant portion of their GDP on the development of nuclear power tend not to be the entities which have the luxury of flaring their natural gas off at the wellheads in their production fields.

Care for some friendly advice?

I know it's the cool, "happening" thing for left-wing bloggers to be brave dissenters from the bourgeois norms---but I might suggest finding some other "thought-provoking" question to ask, 'cause this one ain't gonna get you very far, Kamrade.

I know it's the cool, "happening" thing for left-wing bloggers to be brave dissenters from the bourgeois norms

eh hem! The bourgeois norms is left?????

I kind of thought they were quite on the right, after all, they are the ones trying to biuld the empirial empire!

So none of you warmongers has evidence of an Iranian nuke weapons program, but you want us to go to war over this.

Some inescapable facts for you all. An attack on Iran will send oil to well over $100 for an extended period of time. Even if everything goes off perfectly and there is no retaliation.

That means $5 a gallon. That means a shock to an already shaky economy that could cause a deep recession (recent Stock drop, Housing market crash? anyone?)

This means to me that there is a good chance I could lose my job and no longer afford to drive my car.

For what ? your propaganda?

Before the Iraq war oil was in the $20s. You warmongers said " Sure it will spike a little but it will come right back down". 4 years later oil is at $62 a barrel. Your war caused it to triple and inflict a lot financial pain on the American people.

What will the price be 4 years after an attack on Iran?
$100? , $200?

Will the price triple like it did after the Iraq war?

Call me selfish, but my job and car have an immediate effect on my life.

Cynic,

That's just the left wing tripe you neo-Marxist birkenstock babies specialize in. Don't worry, be happy. With George Bush in the Witless House, there is nothing to worry about, Kamrade.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck the odds are its a duck, you want to bet a nuclear explosion on it?

I would bet my life that the neocons are lying about Iran having nuclear weapons.

Iran probably already has nuclear weapons.

The underlying issue about this is "who will be able to define the concept of peace?"

In Kantian fashion, our moral disposition is being confronted with and tested by the social order and this trend is determined by ethical, political, and juridical power. (Empire!) building.

Fortunately, the totality of the empire is not falling in line with the single state policing.

ray thats exactly what you are doing

Cheka
Will you pay me a million dollars if I'm right? A thousand? A hundred? A dollar? Nothing?

I kind of thought they were quite on the right, after all, they are the ones trying to biuld the empirial empire!

You wouldn't really need to say "Imperial" because by calling the United States an "Empire", it is understood that we are "Imperial".

For someone who sounds so smart, you sure are ignorant.

For someone who sounds so smart, you sure are ignorant.

For someone so smart and critical with critique, why did you not understand they were purposely put together.

Hmmmm!

In Kantian fashion, our moral disposition is being confronted with and tested by the social order and this trend is determined by ethical, political, and juridical power. (Empire!) building.

Very soon, I am going to publish a "Book of Asininity" from the left wing blogosphere to supplement my 401k.

Of course, such an undertaking will be an editorial nightmare---but this one gets a Magic Mao Star.

It's a keeper.

It reminds me of why the Drudge Retort is so special to me. :)

For someone so smart and critical with critique . . .

* * *

Look!! He did it again!!

"Very soon, I am going to publish a "Book of Asininity" from the left wing blogosphere to supplement my 401k."

A "Book of Asininity"? Surely that must be the collected posts of ultra-rightwing lunatic Pinche Mao.

Meow.

In Kantian fashion, our moral disposition is being confronted with and tested by the social order and this trend is determined by ethical, political, and juridical power. (Empire!) building.

LMAO. Pinchy, I don't know if this even rises to the level of asinine. What the hell is Money even talking about? Is it a play on words, that Kant was an Empiricist? If so, that's too subtle and obscure even for Dennis Miller fans, and it's unthinkable to anyone who has ever seen Moneywar post that he could have come up with it himself, who then went on to use the word "juridical", just minutes after misspelling "build" and "Imperial".

Look!! He did it again!!

Hmmmm!!!!!

Ah. Isn't Google wonderful?

* * *

Our citizenship, just like our ethical responsibility, is situated within these new dimensions-our power and our impotence are measured here. We could say, in Kantian fashion, that our internal moral disposition, when it is confronted with and tested in the social order, tends to be determined by the ethical, political, and juridical categories of Empire.

Rightisright,

Apparently you don't understand the requirements for "standards of rationality!"

Yes, Google is wonderful, and the person it was meant for surely got a chuckle!

Apparently you don't understand the requirements for "standards of rationality!"

And apparently, you don't understand the the requirements for "not plagiarizing".

Still gave you the pointed chuckle!

Surely that must be the collected posts of ultra-rightwing lunatic Pinche Mao.

...or attempts by Drudge Retort poster and childless/failed human being "Bill O'Reilly" to be witty and funny.

But that's a tad too abstract a concept to be successful in the format I've envisioned.

Apparently you don't understand the requirements for "standards of rationality!"

Guilty as charged. I don't have any idea what the hell you're talking about.

Moneywar--

I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, the best way not to be taken seriously by people with any semblance of a brain is to ingest and vomit (or plagiarize) the kind of shit written by people like Antonio Negri.

Trust me on this one.

Still gave you the pointed chuckle!

Touche.

For someone so smart and critical with critique . .

You know, one of my New Year's resolutions was to be more critical with critique.....

...or attempts by Drudge Retort poster and childless/failed human being "Bill O'Reilly" to be witty and funny.

Meow. Pussy.

Meow. Pussy.

Uh-oh.

Did I hit the nail on the head, Bill?

It's people like you who, in this particular context, provide an element of tangibility to concepts like "IQ Points".

I promise you, from the bottom of my heart, the best way not to be taken seriously by people with any semblance of a brain is to ingest and vomit (or plagiarize) the kind of shit written by people like Antonio Negri.

Spoken like someone who probably once thought Negri was a God. The predictable thing about apostates: they'll flip flop from ultra left to ultra right (or vice versa) overnight(e.g. David Horowitz)...

Meow...

You know, one of my New Year's resolutions was to be more critical with critique.....

Touche.

Moneywar,

You post-modern neo-Marxist deconstructionist, take off your fucking Che t-shirt and junk the relativist leftist narrative and all that other semiotic bullshit!

Meow...

MEOW,

LOL!

Was funnin with Mao.

Figured he was about the only one who would get the post!

You know me too well!

The predictable thing about apostates: they'll flip flop from ultra left to ultra right

It's also the predictable thing about any human being who acquires a modicum of intellectual maturity beyond that of the undergraduate sophmore.

Spoken like someone who probably once thought Negri was a God

Spoken like someone who doesn't have a very good basis for calculating probability, but won't let that stop him from running his mouth. :)

ultra right

And of course, as we all know, writing critically of Negri is indicative of an "ultra-right" worldview.

It's also the predictable thing about any human being who acquires a modicum of intellectual maturity beyond that of the undergraduate sophmore.

Uh-oh. Hit paydirt, didn't I, David. LMAO.

Meow...

"And of course, as we all know, writing critically of Negri is indicative of an "ultra-right" worldview"

No. As we all know, the rantings of Pinche Mao are examples of an ultra-right worldview. It's easy to be critical of Negri without being an ultra-rightist. Why, one could even be a liberal! Imagine that, if your stunted brain is capable.

I was 19 years old when I quit being a Marxist, Bill.

What's your excuse?

You forgot the catchy "Meow", Bill.

19? Sad. As the saying goes, you're supposed to lose your heart at age 30, not 19. Bet you listen to Lawrence Welk, too, old man.

Meow...(just for you, Pinche).

It's easy to be critical of Negri without being an ultra-rightist. Why, one could even be a liberal! Imagine that, if your stunted brain is capable.

It's also easy to be critical of Robert P. George without being a leftist fuck. Why, one could even be a conservative!

In any case, you've failed to make any kind of relevant point.

Again.

Well Mao,

Since this started in the philosophical realm I will continue.

Iran - Bush - Thomas Hobbes?

I would say Hobbes is correct in his social contract theory but apparently this is beyond Bush and cabal.

19? Sad. As the saying goes, you're supposed to lose your heart at age 30

True.

But the beauty of an enlightened, free society is that it allows one the academic and intellectual freedom to understand how fundamentally flawed the equivocation of "heart" is with "soul-crushing, collectivist, and horseshit economic planning that ruins peoples' lives".

Yeah, we are all for the governmentless government!

You warmongers have yet to post any credible intelligence that Iran has a nuke weapons program.

Prior to Iraq you spread tons of BS propaganda about the grave threat Saddam posed. Come to find out, that the threat was not saddam, it was your policy of endless meaningless war founded on BS propaganda. You assured us that the price of oil would come back to the $20s and that Iraq would be a cake walk. Four years later oil is at $62, triple the price, causing great pain to the livelihoods all americans and huge profits for you.

Over three thousand US dead and we are caught in a quagmire ethnic civil war of our own making in Iraq.

Now you want to attack Iran on no evidence, which will send oil to well over $100 for an extended period of time. That means $5 gas and a deep recession.

$5 gas means I can't afford to drive and a deep recession means I may lose my job. Gee thanks. Got anymore gifts for the american people?

You warmongers are the enemy, not Iran.

Since this started in the philosophical realm I will continue

And so will I....by slipping into bed next to my wife, turning on the lamp, and immersing myself in Kierkegaard.

I've reached the point in the evening where my doses of absurdity are best received passively---rather than participating on the Drudge Retort.

Good night, Kamrades.

Down with corporate power!

In any case, you've failed to make any kind of relevant point.

Again.

Yeah. Like every one of your seen one seen them all posts.

But the beauty of an enlightened, free society is that it allows one the academic and intellectual freedom to understand how fundamentally flawed the equivocation of "heart" is with "soul-crushing, collectivist, and horseshit economic planning that ruins peoples' lives".

Is that a quote? From which rightwing hack? If your point is that I'm a collectivist who belives in command and control central planning, you're howling at the wrong moon, as usual. I'll take George Orwell over Josef Stalin, thank you very much.

You forgot the witty and provocative "meow".

Again.

Dipshit.

Is that a quote?

Yes.

From which rightwing hack?

Me.

Be my guest and "Google" it.

But thanks for the compliment, however unintended.

You got out of bed to say that?

And you call others dipshit. LOL.

"Google it"

Sorry to burst your bubble, but...

Your search - "soul-crushing, collectivist, and horseshit economic planning that ruins peoples' lives". - did not match any documents.

LMAO.

You got out of bed to say that?

Now, how would I know you'd written that had I been in bed?

"LOL"

You've expended your entertainment value, Bill.

Go find someone else to whom you can flaunt your stupid-ass athiesm and (painfully self-conscious) contempt for the bourgeois norms.

Your search - "soul-crushing, collectivist, and horseshit economic planning that ruins peoples' lives". - did not match any documents.

That was the point, dumbass.

Uh, it's atheism, dumbass. And if you want to be a "bourgeois" conformist, that's fine, drone. Just don't flatter yourself that it's some kind of virtuous behavior on your part, drone.

Anybody who becomes a rightwing hack at age 19 ought to have their lips sealed for 10 years for pure lack of imagination.

Seriously though, I've given myself a hard-on for Kierkegaard.

Surely some childless, shell of a human being can relate to something so silly.

I gotta go read as I hear my wife breathe in her sleep.

The baby is only days away from walking---and I'm going to work with him tomorrow on the grass in hopes that it happens.

Then we're gonna dream up the vacation we can take due to our child-credited tax refund check.

The current leadership of Iran is overtly hostile toward America, not just GWB and Co. Whether they are a threat is another question. Common sense should dictate that we keep a close eye on Iran when their mullahs and Imams are exhorting the masses to scream for "death to America" and "death to Israel".
It is unfortunate that we have such an untrustworthy leader as Bush at a time when we must carefully evaluate both Iran's rhetoric and it's actions. At this point, even if Iran does turn out to be an actual threat, few of us will believe it if GWB is the one who identifies Iran as such. He has no credibility.

What are you gonna do, Bill?

"childless, shell of a human being".

Yeah, and some morons try to claim "childless" isn't a pejorative. Thanks for playing, drone. You've done your duty for God and country. God bless America and her rightwing nuts.

Maybe you and Charles Krauthammer here can visit.

Nighty night.

"due to our child-credited tax refund check."

Very good marxist. But too pussy to win war. IRS should require dna test make sure you real father. More money to troops. Russia sell more killing machines so pussy bush men die. 20000 30000 send whole army. More money for Russia.

Hey, I thought you were going to bed. The little woman is waiting for her big, bad cowboy to hop into bed...and read Kierkegaard.

When you call a government an axis of evil with nothing to support your contention and after the country has reached out to you for peace discussions you refused, have a problem with it's friends that are profiting from their peaceful relationship with the same country. I wonder why these two countries can have such a great relationship with Iran and this President. Evidently Jimmy Carter is the only US President that can lay the ground work for peace. Violence is an expensive way to try to get cooperation.

Violence is an expensive way to try to get cooperation.

Tell that to Bush.

So Harrier believes Russia and and China should stand aside and watch Iraq and Afghanistan get mugged. There's nothing evil about mugging. Right Harrier?

Can you say "WMD"?

Sure. whimed.
