A website set up to counter the nightly broadcast of MSNBC host Keith Olbermann has thrown in the towel after NBC Universal extended the contract of the former sports newscaster, whose nightly Countdown program has seen its ratings grow in the past year.

"He's a bully -- an ad-man who seized upon a marketing opportunity," the blog noted. "Not an opportunity to promote a particular brand of truth or policy stance, but an opportunity to traffic in vitriol because it is that sort of poison which he discovered would be the most effective route to his own personal success."

ROFLMAO!!!!

If those who believe this wouldn't listen to Rush, it wouldn't be so funny!!!

As long as the one spreading the "poison" is republican.....it's all good!!!

Hypocrites!!

"Ironically, Cox took some responsibility for Olbermann's growing ratings."

LOL

Just like this administration taking credit for things they haven't done either.

Olbermanns' popularity couldn't possibly be that people are seeing the truth about this administration because Olbermann has the courage to speak it.

Don't worry republicans....Olbermann will soon find his name mysteriously showing up on the "no fly" list.

That'll learn him not to speak in public negatively about Dictator Bush.

There is no disguising the fact that we have been extremely unhappy with the recent decision of NBC Universal to not only retain Keith Olbermann for four more years but to elevate him in an unprecedented fashion. We had held out hope that MSNBC would allow Olbermann's contract to expire even up until the last few weeks. But the deal is done and our Countdown Clock expired at midnight on March 1, 2007.

Given this, we have come to the conclusion that we have done more harm than good over the past 2+ years in keeping Olbermann in the public eye at a time when few were watching his show and even less cared about his assault on the journalistic standards we hold dear. So, after careful consideration and consultation with the entire staff, we have decided the time has come to retire OlbermannWatch.com.

It's been a great run. We certainly had a lot of fun running the site but it's just been increasingly difficult to maintain our enthusiasm as Olbermann's ratings have increased and a compliant media has done everything to boost Olbermann and his show.

We wish all of you the best over the next four, painful years.

Sincerely,
Robert A. Cox

LOL

LOL, Zap!!

This is a hoot, isn't it?!

Hey....let's email this joker!!

I'm emailing Bill O'Reilly to ask him to have his friend Ann Coulter on and ask her why she called John Edwards a Faggot.

(It's because his hair is less damaged than hers...)

Sitdown:

Nothing she says should be listened to. Anyone who wishes death for those who don't share her point of view, shouldn't be allowed to roam the streets, much less speak publicly and taken seriously.

I read her comment too and blew it off as nothing but the typical "I hate anyone who isn't a republican" vomit she spews.

Olbermann goes after this administration....and rightfully so.

Olbermanns' popularity couldn't possibly be that people are seeing the truth about this administration because Olbermann has the courage to speak it.

I don't think "courage" has anything to do with it. They apparently might be getting someone to watch him. Good for them.

"I don't think "courage" has anything to do with it."

Considering that those who have been extremely critical of Bush publicly have ended up on no fly lists, have lost their jobs..etc, etc...it is courageous to be as vocal and truthful as Olbermann has been.

Cox didn't need to help Olbermann, Eb...those who can look honestly at what's transpired within the past six years, will watch all on their own.

I for one, have never even heard of that pathetic Anti-Olbermann site. I think it was only visited by those who are republicans to begin with. If he has forced you to watch Olbermann....shame on you again for not seeing reality.

We certainly had a lot of fun running the site but it's just been increasingly difficult to maintain our enthusiasm as Olbermann's ratings have increased

Hey there Coxy....you know of what you speak! I always get down too when I'm succeeding as a failure. It stops me cold when I can't for the life of me get over the fact I'm a loser BECAUSE I'M ALWAYS LOSING. Best of luck with that failure of a venture. You sure are good at it.

They apparently might be getting someone to watch him. Good for them.

Huh?

the "Factor"..is nothing more than the National Enquirer on TV, as is Fox news itself....they can no longer defend this war, or this criminal president...so they are left merely trying to smear and denigrate anyone who disagrees with them. Go Keith....and may you always go after the bullshit, lies, and distortion that has become the rightwing media.

Yeah, Bill O'Reilly sucks.

I think this could describe sean hannity, rush limbaugh, michael savage, ann coulter, and michele malkin as well.
