In his memoir Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, Sen. Barack Obama admitted to trying cocaine in his youth. "I got high [to] push questions of who I was out of my mind," he wrote.

If there was ever proof of a double standard in the Mainstream media it's the contrast between the way the Press so far has dealt with Obama's admitted cocaine use (a non story for them) and how they helped spread the unsubstantiated rumor that President Bush used cocaine ( A huge Deal!).

No liberal bias indeed.

You obviously are a Right Winger that is for Damned Sure. The reason it is a None Story with Obama is He Freely ADMITTED TO IT. That takes Guts Now Dubya had no Guts to have admitted using Cocaine and pot. Now tell Me You have Some beef with this so called Liberal Media Bias.

Larry

The reason it is a None Story with Obama is He Freely ADMITTED TO IT.

So let's see if I understand this. It's a non-story because Obama admitted it.

But it's a huge story with Bush because he didn't admit to doing something he didn't do.

Larry, I'm no "right-winger" though on this website given how far left it skews I guess it must look that way.

For example, here you are arguing that Bush should admit to doing something he didn't do because of an unsubstantiated rumor.

If someone spread a rumor about you, and you denied it, what would you think if someone told you that the only way for the "story" to go away is to admit to doing somethingyou didn't do?

That's right, the word "witchhunt" would be coming uot of your mouth qucicker then spit.

Dubya DID Do it. Why do You think He was grounded from Flying in the Texas Air National Guard?? It wasn't cause He couldn't Aim His pisser into the cup. Common Sense Dude Common Sense.

Larry

drug use starting in high school and ending in college

Big deal W was using well past college and he was an alcoholic. So what?

Why is ok for Bush to be a former coke head and not Obama?

If someone spread a rumor about you, and you denied it

I don't remember him denying it, I just remember him dodging the question.

Anybody that believes (and has the balls to state) that Bush never did coke is nothing more than an ass-kissing Bush apologist who will obviously believe only those things which fuel his blind loyalty.

How sad.

You see, Herr Bush is a liar. Sane people feel like that is an issue of character. Insane people do not.

"he didn't admit to doing something he didn't do."

I'm glad the omniscient Bowa was with W every day and knows this for a fact.

Honesty in a politician IS something that a lot of people aren't used to, but it is refreshing to see it in Obama.

This is definitely a story, but it's less of one because Obama admitted it himself. (I wonder if he'd be so candid about it today if it wasn't something he wrote before his career in politics.)

I definitely think it makes him look good compared to President Bush, widely regarded to have abused cocaine in his youth but covering it up.

However, he's still a self-admitted former cokehead, and I think that'll make it harder for him to be accepted by the masses. Obama feels like another Howard Dean to me -- a media and activist darling who will be crushed without mercy when the primaries begin.

Actually, according to an interview tape played on Hannity (though the interview was for someone else in regards to a book they were writing), Bush was quoted in saying that he never admitted to using cocain or pot because he didn't want kids to think it was okay since the president had done it.

Essentially, he privately admitted doing said drugs without ACTUALLY admitting it.

I have to say, on this note, I disagree with the choice of dodging the question, but I can, at least in theory, understand his reasoning behind it.

Bush refuses to admit or deny the rumors of his coke use in his youth. This is why the stories still dog him today. When a person refuses to deny reports, its a tacit admission that there is some truth to them on their face. No sentient person allows false rumors to stand when a simple denial eliminates them altogether.

Bush has admitted to many "youthful discretions" but then adds he did no illegal substances after a certain date. Now, you tell me what those words mean to anyone with common sense and rationality.

There was an unauthorized biography of George W. Bush that was squelched before it could be widely published that documented much of what Bush has wanted to remain murky from his days before his marriage to Laura. The fact that his service records and criminal records (at least 2 DUI's) somehow disappeared mysteriously, or have gaping holes leaving many unanswered questions, only add fuel to the fire surrounding the past of George Bush.

Obama feels like another Howard Dean to me -- a media and activist darling who will be crushed without mercy when the primaries begin.

Here, here.

I think Obama will fade out before the end of the year and there will be a call for Jim Webb to take his place.

Why do You think He was grounded from Flying in the Texas Air National Guard?? It wasn't cause He couldn't Aim His pisser into the cup. Common Sense Dude Common Sense.

Larry,

Your common sense gets in the way of your lack of knowledge when it comes to things military. Bush stopped flying because his aircraft was being phased out.

And before you try to change the subject and claim he was AWOL, the National Guard is different from active duty and Reserve. In the Guard you accumulate points toward your service commitment. It's not based on the calendar -- like you hav to be there for six calendar years.

If you pull extra duty you get more points, and satisfy your commitment sooner. It is very common for Guard members to build up extra points and then not show up at the end of their term.

Because they have already met their duty.

"Bush stopped flying becasue his aircraft was being phased out...."

So, there was no need for Bush to report for his required flight physical as ordered? Well, how rude of TANG not to understand that.

How rude of TANG not to feel sympathy Bush wanted to use his personal physician and not an military doctor for that physical. Bastards.

"Becasue they have already met their duty...."

So, Bush was just being polite when he asked TANG for an early discharge to attend graduate school? Stand-up fellow.

This thread really makes me miss tang. Do they still make that stuff?

I definitely think it makes him look good compared to President Bush, widely regarded to have abused cocaine in his youth but covering it up.
Posted by rcade at 2007-01-31 09:23 AM |

YEAH! "Covering it up" is a perfect narrative to Bush's entire life.

Like a proverbial cat in a litter box he is

Oohrah -
Good points.

One of the things I actually don't despise Bush for is that he had almost certainly used cocaine. One of the many things I do despise him for is his hypocrisy in not denying or confirming it. Instead he came up with some ridiculous statement about how he could have passed an FBI test asking if there was any illegal drug use within a given number of years in the past. Then kept redefining what that particular number was.

Everybody except the most brain-dead Democratic Party loyalists knew that Clinton was lying about his womanizing. We elected and re-elected him anyway and got Monica.

Everybody except the most brain-dead Republican Party loyalists knew that Bush was lying about his drug use, DWI arrests and guard service and was a corrupt halfwit with a history of failure not fit to be dog catcher let alone president. We elected and re-elected him anyway and got Iraq and Katrina.

Vernon

In the Guard you accumulate points toward your service commitment.

Any evidence to document this was the case?

Any evidence at all beyond idle speculation..

the bigger story is that Obama smokes CIGARETTES!!!

YEAH! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Bush, the French vacationer, pulled "extra duty"! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Bush, the I don't work after 5 pm president pulled "extra duty"! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Bush, the never having a successful business venture pulled "extra duty"! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Bush, the three hour lunch (bike ride) taker pulled "extra duty"! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Bush, the most vacationing "cheerleader" president in recent history pulled "extra duty"! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Funny fag for you vern! You earned it with that bit of comedy!

Bush's entire life is a running history of slaking, shirking, backsliding and how privilege can get you out of ever having to be responsible, productive or competent in anything!

Obama feels like another Howard Dean to me -- a media and activist darling who will be crushed without mercy when the primaries begin.

I don't know.... maybe.

In New Hampshire, even the cynical press were startled by the numbers of people who showed up to see him.

Barak has the charm, intelligence, and sense of honesty and freshness that Dean never showed publically.

That being said, I think he will eventually fall to the lack of leadership ax.

Maybe Hil will take him on as VP.

BlueInBushland

The term moderate has been tossed around alot lately. Mostly by zealots calming to be moderate. BlueInBushland last post is about the most moderate I have ever read of late here on the retort.

That dog just isn't gonna hunt.

"Next, a key campaign aide expanded that definition. Bush spokeswoman Mindy Tucker later said the Republican presidential front-runner was saying that he has not used illegal drugs at any time since 1974, when the 53-year-old Bush was 28. "
www.cnn.com

The cover up can be bigger than the act. Look no further than the Lewinsky scandal.

If Obama said that in his youth he did Coke and has not done it since, that takes a hell of a lot more guts than to say "I have not done drugs in the past 25 years". Just another example of Bushy's cowardice.

Unsubstantiated rumor, double standard, liberal bias. You have many of the correct buzz phrases intended to refute any rational argument. Similar to shouting down those who are against the invasion of illegals from the south by using the terms racist, nativist, hate monger, etc.; a tactic employed by those with no firm footing for rational, factual discourse.

Interesting that the term "liberal media" always comes up when criticism of the pres occurs. More interesting is that this "liberal media" is owned by those who are considered conservatives (and are super capitalists to boot) in their political views. More interesting is when this so-called liberal media does supprt the pres, it is no longer the liberal media, but fair and balanced, y'a know, like that "liberal" FOX news channel.

But please, continue your unquestioning adulation of the pres, don't listen to any criticism. Don't question authority. Be a good little, wool covered American.

Coke is an upper class drug. Go to a black tie fundraiser and you might find people doing lines in the bathroom. Whenever I hear about wealthy people who had tried coke (or have full blown habits) I'm not surprised. It's like pointing out that bums like cheap wine.

Why is ok for Bush to be a former coke head and not Obama?

you have this turned around.....why is it okay to blast and attack and crucify bush for having a problem with demons and yet when it happens with a leftists darling....all of a sudden its a noble thing for him to have tried it to "find out who he was" or some of that 60's bullshit ecxuses to get high.......

we expect...NO WE DEMAND the left attack him with the same amount of fervor....as viscious against HUSSIEN obama as they ever were with bush....and are TO THIS DAY......

of course I also expect the easter bunny too.........the same fat chance.,

Thanks Zap,

What I was trying to say is that choices have consequences and that ignoring the obvious when making those choices will leave you repenting at leisure. The depth of repentance matters, of course. To become immoderate. Who would argue against the reality that the grave that Bush has buried us all in has been dug with an excavator while Clinton only used a shovel and didn't bury us in his grave?

Posted by OohRah at 2007-01-31 09:41 AM

"I think experimentation with drugs is somewhat expected."

Stop!! STOOOOOP already with the "experimentation with drugs" thang!!!

Does one "experiment" with beer while watching football?

Does one "experiment" with shots of tequilla?

Obama, Bush, Clintonx2 all packed their snoots and smoked copious doobie, and did up who knows what else and had a great time doing it. They did not "experiment." There was no testing. They party'd down, YEAH!!

From the other drudge:

SEN. BIDEN SHOCK INTERVIEW: OBAMA FIRST 'CLEAN' BLACK IN MAINSTREAM... 'I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy'...

See BL2 I would have responded to you in kind had you not pointed out Obama's middle name like it was some kind of negative. Who cares what his name is.

Anyway, I would expect him to have to answer to this, but if he admits it where do you go from there? Bush was a weasal and dodged the questions.

Who cares if someone used cocaine? The man should be judged by his political views and effectiveness as a leader only. As long as he isn't a rapist or a thief, I really could not care less about a politician's personal life.

Stop!! STOOOOOP already with the "experimentation with drugs" thang!!!

What about admitting to "dabbling" with drugs? Is that sufficient? I think that it's somewhere between experimentation and full blown crack head.

As long as he isn't a rapist or a thief

Define thief because there are a lot of politicians out their who I think could be considered thieves.

Taxman

Bush was a weasal and dodged the questions.

I think you may have uncovered GWB's middle name..

"But it's a huge story with Bush because he didn't admit to doing something he didn't do." BOWA

The all-knowing BOWA who isn't a Right Wing propaganda machine, just a reasonable guy with reasonable questions.

But now he KNOWS Bush didn't do cocaine.
And, btw, it's not a big story. It WAS a big story because of the obvious attempts to deflect from these charges and his DUI experiences, in the 2000 campaign.

It CAN'T be a Big Story about Obama because it's been there in print for years. The Big Story would be if they found out he had not done cocaine and he was saying he had.

Maybe that's another of your insights, BOWA - Obama made up the coke story to gain credibility with drug-loving Liberals, and African-Americans who don't think he's Black enough.

"Define thief because there are a lot of politicians out their who I think could be considered thieves."

Why should I define thief? Any politician who you think could be considered a thief probably doesn't deserve an elected leadership position. That's what I'm saying.

^5^5^5 SitDown

Larry

It was a joke Joe.

"Obama's admitted cocaine use (a non story for them)"

Well if you ignore this article and dozens of others over the past week, then yes, it is a non story.

"and how they helped spread the unsubstantiated rumor that President Bush used cocaine ( A huge Deal!)."

Those stories came out when he was running for president, just like they are coming out about Obama now even though the book was written a while ago.

Do you like whining about nothing?

Anyway politicians generally don't become crooks until after they are elected.

Larry

"For example, prior divorces... drug usage... party affiliation."

What does the fact that someone has been divorced have to do with whether or not they'd be a good president? A divorce could be the result of any number of interpersonal issues that have absolutely no bearing on one's professional life. Drug use is another irrelevancy. I don't care what drugs my president is doing as long as he cuts taxes, stays out of my personal life, and stays out of other countries' business.

I don't even like Obama, but critique him on the issues and who he is today - you'll have plenty to work with. Bringing up the fact that he did a few lines as a kid only serves to deflect from what's really important.

KRAFT?

and there you have it taxman....just what I was talking about.....just imagine the uproar if bush's middle name were something like ignacio or the like........

but I dont completely think that its the media who has kept this double standard as much as it has been bloogers like most of our leftists 'cousins' here on the retort..........how mant times have the opposition done little more than call bush a coke head as thier part of the argument.......so after all of this for so long........it is well within my rights here to just say.......
HUSSIEN obama.........
that point aside..... lets look at what will happen to him in the near future with these bits of 'baggage'......oh not from us....
from......HILLARY.........her fangs are out and the machine is rolling......in fact, obama better watch out for his personal safety...people around hillary tend to.....well...disappear......

No, KRAFT = Karl Rove's Ass Fat Transplant.

BL2,

how mant times have the opposition done little more than call bush a coke head as thier part of the argument.......so after all of this for so long........it is well within my rights here to just say.......
HUSSIEN obama.........

Ok, so they can't offer a compelling argument against Bush and you can't offer a compelling argument against Obama. Of course everyone has the right to say these things. That doesn't imply what's being said is meaningful.

pleasant....just a little of the same treatment makes the left go beserk...

and SPEAKING OF HILLARY......

did you read about the ship wreck last month.....there was one guy left and a sheep and a sheep dog.....well after a couple of weeks the sheep began to look pretty good to the man on the island but every time he went to hold the sheep, the sheep dog growled and barked and tried to bite him....and lo and behold just last week hillary's plane went down in the same area......didnt hear about that on the news?????.....well when hillary swam to the shore the man said..

ALL RIGHT.......FINNALLY..........
..he then went ot hillary and asked..
would you mind watching the dog???????

yuk yuk ha ha ha ha ha

So Oorah under your rationale Jimmy Carter was a better president than Reagan because Reagan divorced his first wife.

;)

Im from Illinois and as much as it pains me to say this I am proud of Obama. Who gives a rats A$$ what he did when he was younger. It simply says that he made a few bad decisions. i would venture to say that everyone has done things that are not right or for that matter legal. It happens stupid kids make stupid mistakes. What he did when he was younger should have no bearing on him now. Anyone who tries to say otherwise is a fool. Its called learning, growing up, and understanding. We all make mistakes, the intelligent person learns from them the fool does not. Cut him some slack and look at his record over the past 5-10 years that is the relevant timeframe anything beyond that should not even be discussed...

Armyof1...

Why are you "pained" to say what he just did? It appears to be a fair-minded appraisal of Obama's legacy, so far, as a representative of the people of Illinois, both in the Legislature and Congress.

This is the third time I've seen this story, over the course of two or three months. Is someone trying to get traction.

Question. Would you rather deal with someone who can look you in the eye and say. When I was young and stupid I did this and that and I'm not proud of it.

...or would you rather deal with someone who continues to this very day to deny, deny, deny?

I voted for Obama to be put in office based on his vision and his determination. he impressed me during his speech at the Dem convention in '04. however, since then he has changed. He has almost fallen over to the left. Definitly not in line with my views; however, he is a very intelligent man and has a lot of heart. I wish people would quit digging up dirt to win elections and run on a campaign focusing on how they are going to change things. not a campaign based on making the otehr guy look so bad they can't possibly vote for him/her.

I wish Obama was more of a moderate though. he would most likely have my vote if he was.

I'd like to see Newt as president- Oohrah

This may be the first and last time anybody said this.

I wish Obama was more of a moderate though. he would most likely have my vote if he was

Same here, but I must say I like him more than Hillary and/or McCain. Romney isn't even in the picture for me. I still don't know enough about Gulliani nor do I really know all that much about Obama. I figure I have about a year to catch up on those candidates I know little about. I am sure any research will lead to the same conclusin...they are all politicians who say what they say to get elected.

acctually it isnt sitdown....I have said it more than once and it recieved the usual bull about his wife and all sorts of things.......and of course none of those things will be said about 0bama unless we on the right keep it in the minds of everyone........just as the left has done for years and years about bush....
as to both of them I say salute to anyone who faces his demons and wins.....but thats not what the left has done with bush..

oh and newt would be a fine president and have much more support from both sides than many politicians out there today....

and oohrah........

what the left cant find out about newt, it will be easy for them....they will just make some shit up.........

and out......

I don't know what the big deal is with Coke anyway. I've done it lots of times. I still do it today. It relaxes me, makes me feel confident, lets me forget my cares.

I mean, hell, it's a free country. What difference does it make in the scheme of things?

Some people prefer Pepsi. Or even RC. That's not a big deal either.

Leave the man alone.

"what the left cant find out about newt, it will be easy for them....they will just make some shit up........."

No need to, as bl2 put it, "make some shit up":

Sex on the Desk - Oral Sex is More Easily Denied

Several newspapers are now reporting that Newt Gingrich is dating and basically living with Callista Bisek, a "willowy blond Congressional aide 23 years his junior." Biske, 33, has been spending nights at Gingrich's apartment near the Capitol and has her own key. In an amazing act of hypocrisy, Gingrich was apparently dating Bisek all during Clinton-Lewinsky adultery scandal, even as he proclaimed family values and bitterly criticized the President for his adultery.

Reporters and other Washington insiders have known about this relationship since 1994, even before Gingrich became Speaker of the House, but did not have any solid proof to report. In 1995, Vanity Fair magazine described Bisek as Gingrich's "frequent breakfast companion." Gingrich was married to Marianne Gingrich during all of that time, and just filed for divorce in August 1999.

Newt is apparently trying to create a new hybrid form, Christian adultery. According to MSNBC, Bisek sings in the National Shrine Choir, and Newt would often wait for her at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, listening to her sing while he read the Bible.

This is hardly the first time Newt has cheated, either. "It was common knowledge that Newt was involved with other women during his [first] marriage to Jackie. Maybe not on the level of John Kennedy. But he had girlfriends -- some serious, some trivial." -- Dot Crews, his campaign scheduler throughout the 70s. One woman, Anne Manning, has come forward and confirmed a relationship with him during the 1976 campaign. "We had oral sex. He prefers that modus operandi because then he can say, 'I never slept with her.'"

Kip Carter, his former campaign treasurer, was walking Newt's daughters back from a football game one day and cut across a driveway where he saw a car. "As I got to the car, I saw Newt in the passenger seat and one of the guys' wives with her head in his lap going up and down. Newt kind of turned and gave me this little-boy smile. Fortunately, Jackie Sue and Kathy were a lot younger and shorter then."

Family Values? Pressing Wife for Divorce in the Hospital:

"He walked out in the spring of 1980.... By September, I went into the hospital for my third surgery. The two girls came to see me, and said, "Daddy is downstairs. Could he come up?" When he got there, he wanted to discuss the terms of the divorce while I was recovering from my surgery." - Jackie, his first wife.

Dead-Beat Dad:

The hospital visit wasn't the end of it, either. Jackie had to take Newt to court to get him to contribute for bills, as utilities were about to be cut off.

Draft Dodger:

Though he relentlessly pushes military spending and talks like a bigtime hawk, Gingrich avoided the Vietnam War through a combination of student and family deferments. (He married one of his teachers at age 19.)

Problems With Women?

Newt pressed his first wife to sign divorce papers while she was still in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery. He also graciously said "She isn't young enough or pretty enough to be the President's wife." But his second marriage hasn't been that smooth either. Newt and Marianne have been separated - "frankly", she told the Washington Post in June 1989, "it's been on and off for some time."

Does Newt have some kind of problem with women? He has said that he read a book called "Men Who Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them", and "found frightening pieces that related to my own life."

Incidentally, Marianne told Gail Sheehy she doesn't want Newt to run for President. " I told him if I'm not in agreement, fine, it's easy. I just go on the air the next day, and I undermine everything. ... I don't want him to be president and I don't think he should be." Newt's response? Marianne "was just making the point hypothetically" that he would not run unless she agreed he should.

House Banking Scandal: Newt Bounced 22 Checks

Remember the House Banking scandal, where so many congressmen wrote rubber checks on government money? Newt hopes you don't, because he bounced 22 himself, which almost cost him reelection in 1992. His vote for the secret House pay raise, and the chauffeur who drove him around Washington in a Lincoln Town Car, didn't help.

Surely, you'd want to know SOMETHING about their background, wouldn't you? I'm suggesting I want to know their belief system... some of the things that have shaped who they are.

It matters in leadership. This person is asking for my support in leading our country.

Now, if I'm hiring a guy to clean my gutters I don't care how many wives he's had. But this is a different deal.

...But I think it's useful to gain some insight into a candidate's decision making process and the events which have shaped him over the years.

Here!! Here!!! on that TAXMAN. There is no way on GODS GREEN EARTH I would ever vote for Hillary. McCain doesn't know what he is. Gulliani is a proven leader. His leadership helped NY through 9/11. Probably didn't make all of teh right decisions but in times of crisis who does everything perfect. Hindsight is always 20/20. He has apast though and heaven knows we will never see a clean campaign again so everything in every candidfates past will be used as ammo. It is truely sad...

YEAH! We already know all we need to about Newt.

He is devoid of ethics, class, guts and manners and still goes by the name you would call a five year old!

Then you are one of the very fortunate few who have not developed an addiction. Cocaine addiction is right up there with nicotine and meth. And depending on method and frequency can cause some fairly significant damage to the body. There is no safe way to ingest cocaine.

It's a shame that it is as it is.

Sorry, Zot, you caught me.
I do enjoy a Coca-Cola on occasion. (Hey, I was making a joke! Badly, I guess...)

The powdery kind of coke - that's way different. Tried that a couple times in my yoot, and it freaked me out. Why ANYONE would try it now is beyond me. You're right, no way to ingest it safely.

Any evidence at all beyond idle speculation..

Zap,
Stop being a retard. I'm an Air Force veteran. I enlisted for 6 years active duty and served my six years, to the day. Because the Guard is subject to being activated, they have a different system. So if you are active, you earn more points.

You want more evidence. Go find an Air Force or Army recruiter. Dumbass

the bigger story is that Obama smokes CIGARETTES!!!

I agree. Especially considering the main domestic issue for dems will be universal health care.

Actually I have a great idea for him.....go cold turkey on cigs during the campaign and pledge to install some kind of universal health care for all Americans.

Since he has not "yet" been accused of sexually intimidating scores of women, he is already above(snicker) my mentor, the slickster.

My mentor showed me how to "split the difference." He used a cigar on this pretty young intern. It was then my turn. Afterward she said, "I know Bill Clinton, and son you are no Bill Clinton."

Universal healthcare will never work in America. For 1 the cost would be astonomical and 2 AMericans are not willing to give up 40% of their pay to fund healthcare.. It will just never happen. It sounds great but its just not functional when you have 300 million + people in the country...

What is worse Army is that Americans seem to indicate they value healthcare but they don't value health. You can't have it both ways IMO. That is the #1 concern I have regading universal healthcare. We are so unhealthy in this country and we don't care either.

coke the beverage of the God's!

"The Gods Must Be Crazy"

One day, the pilot of a passing airplane drops a glass Coke bottle. Initially, this strange artifact seems to be a boon from the gods -- Xi's people find many uses for it. But unlike anything that they have had before, there is only one bottle to share among all members of the group. They soon find themselves experiencing things they never had before: envy, hatred, even violence.

It is decided that the bottle, renamed "the evil thing", must be thrown off of the edge of the world. Xi volunteers for the task. As he travels on his quest, he encounters western civilization for the first time.

Senator Joe Biden, I'm sure, would consider this to be a clean film about coke:>)

So, he did... and who didn't ?

So, he did... and who didn't ?

So, he did... and who didn't ?

I didn't!

The main issue that nobody is mentioning is the level of hypocrasy that is reached once these "experimenters" get into office and then are in charge of ruining other people's lives for the very things they have done. I'm sure as Gov. of Texas, GW put many people away for a long, long time for their youthful indiscretions.

hypocrasy=hypocrisy

But it's a huge story with Bush because he didn't admit to doing something he didn't do.

Well, there you have it. You seem to know better than everyone else here. You said Bush didnt do it as if you have concrete proof. Nice try. NEXT!!!

Taxman:
Tang is still around. I bought some the other day. They don't make grape anymore or I have not seen it. I'm gonna get some right now.
Yum! Just like I remembered.

Man, I haven't had any 'tang in so long I forgot what it feels like.

Let me guess ... he tried it but didn't snort???

It would prolly be ok with the leftists if "managed" his own corner too, most likely cause "whitey" forced him into that lifestyle.

"I know Bill Clinton, and son you are no Bill Clinton."

So, your mother knows Bill Clinton eh?

i guess all the righties here forgot about bill clinton and the marijuana thing
a lot more was made out of that than Bush and coke, as ironic as that may seem...

short memories these righties have

wrong...what you are talking about is making fun of and telling the left that we werent buying his shit about not inhaling and all that.......and in the case of bush, the left says that he is a cokehead still today and all of the anciently stupid rhetoric that goes with it..........

again......where is the leftist condemnation of HUSSEIN junior here....I mean once you use coke or the like, you are toast for anything else anytime.....thats the word about bush and his use........or is it......'different'

Cocaine use is automatic disqualification for receiving a security clearance. This guy is truely an idiot

Okay, you convinced me. I won't vote for Obama 'cause his middle name is Hussein.

At this point, if Obama admitted to killing little white children in his past while snorting the white stuff, it would be forgiven. He can do no wrong.

Are you suggesting that nobody who ever used cocaine has a security clearance?

I don't care much about the cocaine thing- it only means that he can stay awake and work longer- although in Osama's case that means more damaging policies being implemented- maybe we should put him on ludes...

Geesh you right nuts are a crazy bunch.

'Damaging policies' are those that hurt the majority of Americans, which was the case the last 6 years.

Obama was honest enough to admit what he did years and years ago. Republicans have to be indicted to admit their mistakes.

Bush was a coke head, drunkard for years. His bisexual activities rarely made it to the media. Clinton gets a BJ and gets impeached, and Bush has homosexual hookers sucking him off and running press conferences, and the "liberal" press ignores big time.

what a croc of bs man
i cant believe you actually typed that.

At this point, if Laura admitted to killing her dope peddling boyfriend in her past while snorting the white stuff, it would be forgiven. She can do no wrong.

Laura?

What does Laura Bush have to do with this thread?

What does Laura have to do with it????

Puhleeeez Jeff, you can't see the hypocrisy in ANAMERICAN's post???

If not, oh well, righties seem to see what they want, rarely reality.

"If there was ever proof of a double standard in the Mainstream media it's the contrast between the way the Press so far has dealt with Obama's admitted cocaine use (a non story for them) and how they helped spread the unsubstantiated rumor that President Bush used cocaine ( A huge Deal!)"

Errr....its the Republicans that clamour for people who take drugs to be thrown in jail and the key thrown away not Democrats. If Elton John admits he had gay sex it probably wouln't make anyone bat an eye lid. If Pat Robertson admitted he had gay sex it might cause a bit of an uproar. Not because of the hypocrisy of the media but because of the hypocrisy of the individual. A subtly that seems to be a little too clever for you to notice BOWA.

So if you are active, you earn more points.

You want more evidence. Go find an Air Force or Army recruiter. Dumbass -Vermin

Whats the matter Verm, have nothing substantial to bloviate about so you just nitpick stupid crap.

or

Barak HUSSEIN Obama does not strike me as being an ideological fascist like Hillary! - Vermin

Nice VERMIN, you swipe at both candidates with one comment. Way to prove what an unjustified time wasting idiot can do with a sentence.

I have yet to see any intelligent words from you.

Ahhhh...there is is, the dismissive rhetoric when it comes to Bushs love of cock...err...coke. There were your words afterall;
"all of the anciently stupid rhetoric that goes with it.........."

As for Obama, why don't you just go ahead and get it off your chest Righties. C'mon! Just do it. Just type the word 'Nigger' like you so desperately want to when it comes to this man. Go on. Your racist ways can't be helped.

As for the 'Hussein Jr' comment, I'd prefer Hussein Jr to Bush Jr any day. What are W Jr's approval numbers these days? Starts with a 2, I believe?
