My neighbor and I are planning a hunt down along the Sac River. It's easy to find 300-400 pounders, but the big boys wallow into the briars. You do need hounds for them.

Rats that gore the hell out of you if you're not careful. Seriously, those things are pretty dangerous.

Growers clip the teeth on feeder pigs so they don't grow out, but the hogs we hunt are feral so they're like a javelina but much bigger. Remember the sequel to Silence of the Lambs?

When the confinement houses started up all the hog farmers went out of business. They cut the hogs loose and now they're a bit of a problem. Open season and no limit here in Missourah.

It could have weighed more. Most of those truck scales are only accurate to the nearest 20 pounds and are designed to weigh up to 200,000. Not really designed to weigh livestock.
But still, that's a lot of bacon!
