RIP Joe Barbera I spent hours enjoying your work!

He was a true genius. I particularly loved the Jetsons, but they were all great.

In the Jetsons, people could see each while talking on the "phone". Interesting to note that we have such technology right now. What visionaries these people were!

And what about people in the Jetsons complaininga bout pressing too many buttons? Well, in a sense, carpal tunnel syndrome is related to pressing to many buttons.

here's a pick-a-nik basket waiting in Heaven for Joe.

It's about damn time.
Sincerely,
Bill Hanna

If any two men had any more influence on American Culture than Joe and Bill I really could't say who.

Their cartons brought up at least 2 generations of kids and spin-offs etc. are doing their best to raise the third.

Scooby Doo had more rip-offs than any carton in history but the best part was given the chance to watch a newer scooby clone or the moldy oldie original my kids go for the original every time.

Go figgure.

Thanks Joe you done good.

Tom & Jerry from the late 30's to early 50's...pure genius.

Thanx, Joe...(and Bill, too).

Thanks Joe...tho in todays PC atmosphere most of what he created cant be shown today....thanks for the memories cause thats all we have.....

He was better than your average bear....

RIP, Joe.

What a ludicrous statement. Do you even know what's on TV today?
Personally, I thought Hanna Barbara stuff kind of sucked. Meaningless plotlines and really bad animation. Watching Fred Flinstone run by the same chair and window 50 times isn't entertaining to me.
I was a Warner Bros. kid, myself.
Anyhow, RIP.

Barbera, that is.

Heavens to murgatroyd!

I'm saddened to hear that Joe, responsible for so many great cartoons, not just Tom & Jerry, but also Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw and the world's first gay cartoon character, Snagglepuss, has exited this world (stage left, of course).

He will be missed.

Looks more like a sycamore to me Boo Boo!

Neh hey hee!

Snaggletooth the first gay animated character?

Spud thought that was Velma.

Either that or Ranger Smith.

Cookies are to Spud as
Scooby snacks are to Scooby Doo.

Scrappy Doo was a punk!

Exit stage left?

Yup, that's where Spud stole that meme from.

Wot about Droopy Dog?

Richochet Rabbit?

Huckleberry Hound?

El Kabong?

Spud is luff his cartoons still!

Smarter than the average Bear?

Spud thinks so.

Hell, Spud still thinks Daphne was pretty cute.

Be Well.

Heavens to Mergatroid! Spud is ferget to say RIP to Joe Barbera there.

Rest in Peace oh animated one.

You done good.

Be Well.

Yes, Spud, I kinda figgered you wuz borrowin' from Snagglepuss, altho that is a pretty standard theatrical saying. (I was gonna say you were "sweet on" Mr. Snags, but thought that might sound, er, uh... well, anyhoo...)

KABONG!

H&B's classics were just sweet-natured, innocent fun. Well, except for Tom & Jerry, which were mean and violent. But what GREAT cartoons!

Loved that Huckleberry Southern drawl... Oh my darlin', oh my darlin', oh my darlin' Clementi-i-i-ine...

Speakina cartoons, I was also a big fan of Woody Woodpecker, the star of the Walter Lantz studio and the brainchild of, believe it or not, a guy who went by the nickname of "Bugs!"

Screw Disney! That Nazi bastard! This is the real spirit of American animation and this is a real tragic loss. RIP Joe and thank you for entertaining me my entire life.

"Wot about Droopy Dog?"

He was Fred "Tex" Avery's responsibility.
