The National Democratic Party has spent $50,000 on a mailing calling a Republican write-in candidate to succeed former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay "too conservative," a campaign Republicans believe is intended to split the GOP vote.

old tactic,
both parties do it

Sounds pretty smart to me. If it works, it'll seem like $50,000 in campaign dollars well spent. And for the Democrats, that is really something.

Knowing their luck, though--Richardson will win. Wouldn't that be funny?

no, John Kerry helped Repubs.

Garbage in, garbage out!!!!!!

If the democrat stand on his own he is not worth the post. Period!!!!

supposed to read,

If the democrat can't stand on his own, he is not worth the post...Period!!!

By any means necessary we need to win. If cheating is the only option we need to take it. Republicans are pure evil.

It's like a shit ass political bill. If it can't stand on its own it only hurts us.

Republicans do this in California all the time to slip the Democratic or moderate ticket

You had it right the first time

"By any means necessary we need to win. If cheating is the only option we need to take it. Republicans are pure evil."

Byrdman, so I guess you see nothig wrong with voter fraud and tampered machines as long as it helps your candidate right?

As far as sneaky campaign tactics go, this is one of my favorites. If you go to Talking Points Memo and read the mailing, which was posted yesterday, it's legit. Some Democrats in Texas will think the guy's too conservative because of his policies on immigration and torture.

The fact that the mailing will make him sound pretty good to DeLay's district isn't the Dems' fault.

from the houston chronicle last week......

sekula-gibbs has made inroads into the lead of lampson and in fact she has gone ahead in some areas.......

lampson 36%
smither 4%
write in 35%
not sure 25%

if write in..who

sekula0gibbs 79%
other/not sure 21%

if candidates were lampson,sukla-gibbs,and smither who would you vote for.

lampson.35%
dekula-gibbs.FIFTY TWO %
smither 5%
undecided 9%

as I said before its a zogby poll and a poll is a poll is a poll........but if its good enough to use to talk about the presidents ratings, then its good enough here as well..........so the dems can do anything they want here.......its not goig to work because the people will speak.......just as I spoke last week in early voting.......
but I guess that kerry....who was in nam you know.....would say that I was too stupid to vote........

No write-in candidate has ever won a Congressional race in Texas, BLT. Not gonna happen.

so there is no room for the old saw of there is a first time for everything?????

and yes I am aware of that stat......but once upon a time there had never been a man on the moon ......oh nevermind you get the point.......

what you said is true but at the same time there hasnt been the internet and other new media and a sense of importance put on races such as this......without the media and the new media, people wouldnt even know there was an opprutunity for a write in or who was eligible.......in other words.....
ITS A WHOLE NEW WORLD....of politics....

I wonder if BL2 can be honest enough with us to tell us what there is about Richardson that he doesn't like.

you will have to tell me who or what richardson is first and wait until I get back..........I am sure you will wait with baited breath.......ha ha

Not surprising that Democrats think its okay to cheat if it helps their candidates. Double standards are what the Democrats are all about.

zHow do you know that Republicans are "pure evil"? Have you been there?
