Iceberg? What iceberg?

Give someone enough rope-they'll hang themselves....
Hey guys-you sure those nooses are tight enough?

I see a few of ya need an adjustment er two..

Wouldn't want ya ta get hurt or nuthin'....

do cogressman and senators get unemployment insurance?

Does anyone remember how really awful the Nineties were? We had peace, prosperity, rising employment, budget surpluses and a shot at bringing the deficit under control. And of course we had an evil evil evil evil evil President who was fond of blowjobs and yet was respected by leaders all over the planet for some reason. God the Nineties were a horrible time for America!

Unfortunately, it appears we will go from one extreme to another. Something tells me the Democrats will be doing the "Same old thing"

Maybe in the long run it better the Democrats lose and Republicans have to pick up these pieces?

I don't believe Democrats will do anything better unfortunately because moderates have no voice in the party.

Time will tell if this is a great big pile of crap or the real thing. This sex scandle isn't as big as the one that raced through the last administration. This one was words on a computer, not a spot on a blue dress or a blow job in the White House. And Paula, If that's all the better a governor can shoot for, what's left for us common folk.

Does anybody who is not a GOP partisan hack actually believe that things are going well? One would have to willfully ignore Iraq, N. Korea, Iran, gas prices, civil rights, the undermining of US, prestige and so forth, to actually feel good about the current state of the nation. One would have to be so deluded as to be almost psychotic. Scary thing is, as reflected by some of the right wing post on this site, there are truly people who still believe that the only problems with America are the result of liberals. Unbelievable.

"This one was words on a computer"

Nonsense. This one is all about cronyism, and who's protecting whom and at who's expense.

The most damning fact of all: House rules require incidents like Foley's to be reported to the Page Board. The two Republican members of the Page Board purposely kept these matters secret from the only Democrat on the Board. It's possible the Democrat would've passed on any action, and that would've given the Republicans all the political cover they needed to share the blame. Instead, the two Republicans on the Page Board made a craven, purely political decision, putting electoral concerns over the well-being of children left in loco parentis: instead of contacting the ethics committee, they went to the re-election committee.

Suggesting this is about "words on a computer" is missing the boat.

"Whoseover looks upon a woman with lust has committed adultery in his heart."--Jesus

Whoseover among you is without sin, let him cast the first stone."--Jesus

"Go, and sin no more."--Jesus, to the adulteress.

We need a government made up of halfway decent people. In a nation of 300 million, surely we can come up with enough for Congress, the White House, and the state houses. It just takes something other than mammon to get them there.

This NK A-bomb story is starting to grow some legs and it doesn't look good for the home team.

McCain is in full "blame Bubba" mode and other Repubs are falling back to crying about not having a "missile shield" to protect us from a dangerous, scary world.

Didn't Dubya drop that hot potato when he got his 911 license to invade the ME?

Five years after "Axis of Evil" and now NK's got the bomb?

Just keep chanting, "The world is safer, the world is safer" until you see the light?

That soup's getting mighty thin.

Moder8,

Sadly, we are being led by a gang of psychotics. No wonder things are so out of control.

I was thinking tonight that there are people who have figured out that they want revenge on a specific slice of America, and they probably have their addresses and corporate affiliations. Kind of blowback for the hubris we've seen, and multiplying the fear that led to current policy. I'm thinking there are some foreign non-Christian people who want big revenge, and they'll likely wait for decades or centuries to achieve it.

I don't like that, but I didn't goad them.

My karma is pretty clean.

All politics is local. Democrats should not be patting themselves on the back yet.

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear the US found WMD in Iraq.

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear Bush flew to Iraq on in a fighter jet.

They didn't get those ideas in their heads out of thin air. The Republicans are not finished.

All politics is local. Democrats should not be patting themselves on the back yet.

As proven by this site...

www.electoral-vote.com

Democrats are going to make some gains... they may even take both houses of Congress, but its going to be by a slim margin at best.

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear Saddam was responsible for 9/11.

BFD. 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11. And you think Republicans who think the economy is good and civil rights have improved and the environment is in good shape are "psychotic"? Wait until another article is posted about how thermite explosives were used on the WTC and 450 posts stack up in the first day.

I loved the Daily Show tonight.

"Our nation's pages are safer, but not yet safe."
"We have to be right 100% of the time, but Congressman McGrabass has to only get lucky once."
"Therefore, we need to be able to monitor Congressmen's phone calls and emails without a warrant."
"It's the only way to keep our kids safe."
"And if you disagree, you're supporting the pedifiles."

..and 80% of all statistics are pulled out of your ass. You are psychotic ..use whatever meds you need.

I love the conspiracy pushed by the goverment & Bush that 19 Arab boycutters (sp?) shut down the entire east coast including Norad during 9/11!

Makes total sense to me if GW says so!

Leggo,

70% is certainly an exaggeration. That said, have you ever scrolled through some of the threads that RiR is referring to?

He has a solid point.

Go Tigers...beat them liberal gay scum in SF/Oakland!

Redneck Michigan rocks!..."I'm Your Captain" by Grand Funk Railroad is the greatest Flinkson Rock song ever out of Michigan.

It has to be Michigan's year...they have the little brown jug again...

5 to 1, Bani.

The A's hit into 4 double plays.

The Tigers' pitching was impressive as usual.

Go Tigers!

It has to be Michigan's year...they have the little brown jug again...

Yeah, except that their star receiver (Mario Manningham) had surgery yesterday and the duration that he'll be out is unknown.

ZITo had too many Zits today...

Zito looked invincible for the 1st 8 batters - then Inge cranked one out and he fell apart after that.

rightisright says: "BFD. 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11." etc

There can be a difference. Simply ask them to prove their assertions. I don't believe whatever garbage you say others believe, because I have seen no evidence of it.

For example, where is your evidence that 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11."?

That sounds pretty accurate so you must have a source for that. Where did you get that number? Some study you did? Care to share? Or did you want to make another point about people pulling facts out of their behinds?

Sassy,

Clearly the 70% figure was an intentional exaggeration.

I pose the same question to you that I posed to Leggo:

Have you ever scrolled through one of the threads that RiR is referring to?

It should be 99.9%...but I'm bias:>)

Legio, don't you have a blowup doll who needs your attention?

I'm sticking to my 70%. Of the 30 or so regular posters on the liberal side, I would say that 20 believe that the government is at the very least lying about 9/11, or at the most orchestrated it along with Israeli Mossad agents. That the government is lying about cell phones being used on the planes, lying about WTC 7, lying about the plane that hit the Pentagon, lying about the boxcutters (see Bani, above, among many other posts from him), lying about the hijackers, etc. Notable exceptions are O'Reilly and Boyd, who on this at least are rational.

Go back and do a search on the threads, leggy. They'll shock you.

"Notable exceptions are O'Reilly and Boyd, who on this at least are rational."

leggo

Here's some more rational thinking:>)

"I love the conspiracy pushed by the goverment & Bush that 19 Arab boycutters (sp?) shut down the entire east coast including Norad during 9/11!

Posted earlier here by Bani

Posting your nonsensical theories twice doesn't make them any more persuasive, Bani.

For example, where is your evidence that 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11."?

Actually he is pulling the number out of the air by misrepresenting what is actually stated.

I would say 70% of the people on here believe the government is lying about 911 but RIR orchestrated this to mean they planned and implimented it.

911 was done by terrorists and I think very few on this sight would believe otherwise.

Think about it!
The richest country on the face of the earth at war with the poorest country.
AND LOSING!
WTF???????????????

BTW, Bushco is at the very lease neglagent in its 911 behvior.
It is a waste of my time going over this.
Everyone knows what their fuck ups were.
also;
I have worked in construction for many years, and their is no way anyone will convince me that those buildings emploded from plane crash and fuel fires.
BULL SHIT.

Building 7????
Silverstien admitting it was detonated???
Go ahead burry your heads in the sand.
The truth doesn't really matter these days anyway.
It's all spin and lies and bullshit that rules the day.

Hmm, I don't recall threads referred to. I didn't know I had to answer to the posts of anonymous posters on the internet. Nice try though. Is 70% a count of posts on a thread topic and counts it as something? What? NEVERMIND

I would rather talk about what Republican politicians and pundits say and the people who believe them. If others want to talk about views of anonymous people on the internet, knock yourselves out. Seems kind of pointless to me.

I heard on the internet they make bonsai cats!
Better get on that hot news story!

Meanwhile, some actual real people who control the government have said things... or do you think random posts on the internet should be the basis of your political arguments? Seems that way to me.

Let's talk facts or spin.

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear the US found WMD in Iraq.

Backed up by facts: "We have found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, chemical weapons," Sen. Rick Santorum, R-Pa." www.foxnews.com

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear Saddam was responsible for 9/11.

Backed up by facts: "Five years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, better than 4 in 10 Americans still believe that former Iraq leader Saddam Hussein was personally involved in those attacks, according to two recent polls." www.editorandpublisher.com

A Republican spin machine exists to the point that you can still find people on the street today that will swear Bush flew to Iraq on in a fighter jet

Sorry, this is based on personal experience. Perhaps I can call it an "exaggeration", the dodge the right used to avoid facts in this thread, but I'll retract it wholeheartely if you honestly feel I never met someone who believed this.

Is the only answer the right can give to my items of spin is to say something about 70% based on the numbers of posts on anonymous internet forum threads? You base your argument on anonymous internet forum! Nice job, Sherlock!

Stop with the 9/11 deflections already, ok? Who cares? This thread is all about uncurious George and his henchmen being in big, big, big trouble in November.

Is there any reason to allow the Republicans full control of both houses of Congress? I can't think of any, can any of you? RiR? Anybody?

And I come to this conclusion with absolutely no thought wasted on who caused 9/11...

www.nytimes.com

In the last week of September, the government barred the central morgue in Baghdad and the Health Ministry -- the two main sources of information for civilian deaths -- from releasing figures to the news media. Now, only the government is allowed to release figures. It has not provided statistics for September, though a spokesman said Tuesday that it would.

Knowledge is Power

as in all polls of this nature....look at newsbusters.com...........ther
e were even more dems polled here than in the last one.....almost 40% of the respondents in the abc poll said they were dems and less than 33 % said they were republicans with the rest as independent.......
once again a poll is rigged to show what the people want it to.......but lets not let that get in the way of more democratic dirty tricks.....
you know like the report just out that the dems were going to hold the foley scandal until TEN days before the election but had to release it earlier because of inroads made by the pres and national security issues that dems want no part of...........this according to a democraic operative from the spectator the other day.......

Clearly, the country's mood has soured on the Republicans. Poll numbers continue to drop. I'd heard an argument about winning the hearts and minds of the Middle East along the lines of "people like a winner and despise a loser." Right now, the Republicans may be caught in that same tailwind here in the U.S.A.

The lifer Republicans I talk to are really fed up with the ongoing and deepening GOP mess in Washington. Not just the pages, but Iraq, N. Korea, the bleeding economy, the spin, the corruption, the whole ball of wax, really.

But let's attack the messenger now; it's easier than facing the truth. I wish I could support Republicans, since I have some conservative views, such as fiscal conservatism and smallish government, and honesty.

Is there any reason to allow the Republicans full control of both houses of Congress? I can't think of any, can any of you? RiR? Anybody?

* * *

No, I cannot either.

Oh, yes, and a strong military, to be used to defend our country, not wage wars of choice based on deceptions.

And I like the idea of adhering to the international consensus that resulted from the Nurenberg trials.

As much as I absolutely can not stand the Democrats, I see no reason as to why the Republicans deserve to maintain control of both houses. The Democrats don't deserve control either, however the Republicans have to suffer the consequences of their actions - they seriously alienated themselves from their base.

The age of consent in DC is 16. No crime. Hey just like Clinton.

Jeff, welcome to the 70 percent now, I think, who are thinking "none of the above." Now, if we could just settle on a third party that had a snowball's chance--moderation--what a concept.

Socially liberal, fiscally conservative, honest and straight-talking, no finger on the scales for hidden agendas, real Americans...I like it!

But politics these days would mean such a party would be viciously attacked by all entrenched interests. You know what they say, politics is like sausage--you don't want to see how it's made.

Yeah, hitting on the young'uns is a no-no going way back. Those who can't resist that kind of temptation seriously bring into question their character--and leadership is all about character, right?

I still think it's better than even Bush attacks Iraq before November. The Eisenhower Strike Group is due in the Persian Gulf in ten days.

That would be fascinating, to find out if such an obvious manipulation and power grab tips races to the Republicans or fills the electorate with fear and loathing.

Excuse me, my Bad, That would be IRAN----Bush is already attacking Iraq---and attacking, and attacking....

Exactly Jimi, Clinton IS a scumbag just like foley, but your a hypocrite, cause it only applies to repubs in your camp.

Or is it because of the potential gay thing that has you up in arms? If so also hypocritical of the left.

Jeffindenmark says he works in construction and "Bushco is at the very lease neglagent [sic] in its 911 behvior [sic]" and "no way anyone will convince me that those buildings emploded [sic] from plane crash and fuel fires. BULL SHIT. ... "
... .he does not say he is an architect or a structural engineer ... so what does he do in construction ... paint rooms, lay carpet, clean windows? Not that there is anything wrong with that, but his wait a minute, isn't Bush supposed to be an idiot? So this "idiot" can supposedly secretly orchestrate the complete destruction of two massive buildings in downtown New York City? I heard he can also Fix elections in Mexico, bomb trains in Spain and control hurricanes! This is indeed a great country; where else could someone with a high school GED making about $30,000 a year sit back and swill a six pack in his double wide and belch at his rent- to- own TV that the Yale educated president is "an idiot".

I, for one, am not counting my chickens just yet (chicken-hawks, maybe).

I'm not at all sure that the dems will gain control of either body, due to gerrymandering of distrcits and the fact that we live in an idiocracy where party trumps policy - yes on both sides, but never more obviously than now.

BFD. 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11.

OK, I have to call BULLSHIT!!!!

JMFJ, most people would say STFU after your post above, but I'll just say please don't put words in my mouth or thoughts in my head. I am an equal opportunity critic when it comes to sex scandals, or any other corrupt or severely inappropriate behavior. That makes me a hypocrite?

As far as the gay thing goes, it's the Repubs' hypocrisy of gay-bashing with one hand and shielding their own with the other to protect their power that has me saying Hmmm. I think if they purge their gays, it's nothing more than throwing a bunch of people under the bus to save their political skins. Stinks of desperation. "Oh, Mr. Fundie, PLEEEASE don't go...we neeeed you so..."

And no, I'm not gay.

Midiman, the word of the day to describe our gov't is indeed "idiocracy."

The age of consent in DC is 16. No crime. Hey just like Clinton.

Posted by JMFJ at 2006-10-11 09:06 AM

so you'd have no problem with a 50 yr old man having cyber sex with your 16 yr old son?
Is that what you're saying?

And please stop teh Monica comparisons. She was an ADULT.

"This is indeed a great country; where else could someone with a high school GED making about $30,000 a year sit back and swill a six pack in his double wide and belch at his rent- to- own TV that the Yale educated president is "an idiot".

The moron in chief never earned that much in his life except while running companies he bankrupted or being an owner of the Texas Rangers which was a "gift" from Daddy's rich friends, or in political office where he was put as a figure head without a clue. His Yale education could have been achieved by a monkey with the right parents.
It is one thing to go to Yale, it is another to actually learn something there. His professors who have spoken out say he is a dunce.

It is widely known Bush is one of least intellectually curious people in the Country.

"It is widely known Bush is one of least intellectually curious people in the Country."

Jeezusfuckinkeeriest

Widely known? The whole country?

Generalize much?

Funny how the term "ADULT" has transient meaning to the dems,. When its an argument by their ACLU ass buddies, then its 13 not 16.

Libssuck: Assuming your expertise in this area, what are "assbuddies"?

Widely known? The whole country?

Yes, anyone who isn't brain dead and can read knows this, has heard, and read it quoted, by various people who have known and worked with Bush.

really? So you know libs who think 13 yr olds are adults??

I know there are Regressives here on this blog who think 16 yr olds are adults, but 13?
Please provide your proof.

Oh, and is the same ACLU who went to the mat defending Rush and his privacy regarding the release of his medical records? That ACLU?

If you think Clinton sucked for doing worse than emails, then Jimi I apologize, your not a hypocrite, but the loc in general are.

Hi Briwo,

I think Clinton sucked for what he did, he is a scumbag.

I think Foley sucks, he is a scumbag, guess, what he resigned.

No, Briwo. He's thinking of Prairie Home Companion's Adventurous Cowboys Living Underwater.

JMFJ: I agree, Clinton is a scumbag for what he did. Alot of men cheat on their wives with ADULT women and that is between them and their wives. My biggest complaint about Clinton's action was that he did it in the Oval Office.

Clinton DID NOT however, have cybersex with a 16 yr old boy.

Can you not see the difference?

Oh, and is the same ACLU who went to the mat defending Rush and his privacy regarding the release of his medical records? That ACLU?

Posted by briwo at 2006-10-11 11:01 AM | Reply |

yes, that one, who they went to the mat defending is not as important as the absurd positions they take in doing so... that there are a few conservatives that have individually benefited does not undo the legal arguments and positions they put forward.

Remember to use a 2 gallon Ziplock baggie for Your cybersex parties GOPers or else You might find some very bad STD's Sexually Transmitted Dialogues in the news.

Larry

Scum is scum, I not going to differentiate.

The loc has to differentiate it to make this look worse, its not.

Doc did you get that name because you are in the medical field or because you are a dwarf?

"Doc did you get that name because you are in the medical field or because you are a dwarf?"

Neither, Libssuck. But thanks for asking anyway.

Libssuck? Hmmmm....Did you get that name because you are the sucker or the suckee?

Doc: that would depend on whether or not he's double jointed.

Doc, by the manner of your question were you giving a hummer while typing?
Ok, so Doc, you are not in the medical field or a dwarf, so do you like boats and just do not know its spelled "dock".

""Widely known? The whole country?""

No....THE WHOLE WORLD.

Libssuck: LAME ALERT!

You and PeeWee could have a great time, IMHO.

Please crawl back under the bridge.

The Republicans are in trouble in the States that are having elections. I hope these polls are targeting only those States since some aren't having any elections and I could care less what those people think.

We have a few weeks left before the election.

If Iran and NK become war zones, what will any poltician do with Iraq, Iran, and North Korea as warzones do?

Seriously. What will the Democrats do if they take both houses but there are 3 wars started before they get in there? What will they do? Apologize for any bombing the hell out of Iran and NK and hope we can be friends now?

As for Clinton, Perjury and Obstruction of Justice are serious crimes but not enough to remove the President from office. So, not guilty because we didn't want him removed. Was he guilty of the crimes? Yes. Were the crimes equivalent for removal?

Why didn't they just Censure Clinton - I'm sure he would be guilty of both crimes if the punishment would've been Censure.

Why no censure? Because when they used it before, the guy turned his back on his colleages for breaking House Rules and received a standing applause for his arrogance.

There are many "Professionals" who are in the proper fields who have claimed 9/11 information from the gov't isn't truthful and there is a cover-up. A painter may be repeating the stories, but the stories are by those with the appropriate knowledge.

If you want links, go to the other threads. The links are there with quotes and studies by 'the learned' who do know.

Terrorists did it. Terrorist, the title, can apply to anyone, even an American. Didn't you know?

"Doc, by the manner of your question were you giving a hummer while typing?"

I'm sure you subscribe to the "better to give than receive" school of thought. But, again, Libssuck, we differ.

"Ok, so Doc, you are not in the medical field or a dwarf, so do you like boats and just do not know its spelled "dock"."

No, not interested in boats. Sorry, Libssucker, but do keep trying to work out your obsession.

Doc: he is kind of obsessed with sucking, it's even in his screen name.

doc, seems to be yours was the first exchange of inquiry to Libsuck on the blog... making it your apparent compulsion, not libsuck's obsession

BRIWO ......so now the party of the gays considers it an insult to insinuate that someone is gay? Interesting, but 'bout as smart as a conservative considering it an insult to call someone a federalist. Apparently then, the reason it was the Capitol Hill sex scandal at all was because it was not a democrat involved, it is really not about right and wrong, as asserted, but about jealousy that one of their own was not involved

What are you, Reinsure? Libsucker's nanny?

I make one inquiry and I have a "compulsion" or "obsession."

Look at the thread.

Oh, and invest in a pictionary, dunce.

""BRIWO ......so now the party of the gays considers it an insult to insinuate that someone is gay?""

Party of Gays?? The Rethugs???
Democrats don't care if folks are gay, they just don't like pedophiles and cover ups for pedophiles.
Duh LIBSSUCK.

Doc, same question, is BRIWO your nanny or perhaps your alter-ego? FOSSOBT

uh danni, 16 is legal in DC, just like with cliton.

Oh wait its okay because he was a democrat, hypocrite.

Or wait, is cliton a pedophile also?

""uh danni, 16 is legal in DC, just like with cliton. ""

Uh JMJF, 16 is a kid no matter where you are regardless of legality in DC. 22 is an adult regardless of where you are.
I don't know if you have kids, I do, if a man gay or straight approached my 16 year old he would have BIG problems on his hands, if my daughter or son 22 decided to do something I don't like, I have nothing to say about it.
You KNOW you feel the same way, it's just politics that makes you defend a pedophile whether he is protected by peculiar laws in DC or not.
BTW, Hastert knew, he covered it up, we all know it and are just waiting to see who he tries to blame...his staff????
"the buck stops with my staff."

Nanny? Nope. Alter-ego? Ditto.

Is Libssuck your "ass buddy"? Ask him what that means, because I don't know. (Clue: try your new pictionary.) I asked him and that triggered his response which eventually brought you in as his champeeon. What a guy.

Legal is legal, the dem motto, it wasnt about morals, or character, or was IT?

The Republicans are in trouble in the States that are having elections. I hope these polls are targeting only those States since some aren't having any elections and I could care less what those people think.

Representatives serve two year terms with no limits on how many terms they may serve.

Every seat in the House in every state is up for election.

End of civics lesson.

It's a shame they don't teach it in schools anymore.

And you know what Danni, if your state says the legal age of consent is 16 he would have no problem on his hands, just like Monica's parents could do nothing about Clinton filling her with Cigars.

The old loc might have gotten some traction with this if they hadn't said morals and character didn't matter. They do, and now they are being hypocritical.

""And you know what Danni, if your state says the legal age of consent is 16 he would have no problem on his hands, just like Monica's parents could do nothing about Clinton filling her with Cigars.""

Nor could they discipline her for planning on seducing him since her first day at the white house. works both ways JMJF.

You go ahead and PRETEND 22 is the same as 16......but it is b.s. and you know it.

Oh, unless we just want to go along with Faux News where they continually try to portray Monica as 19....by accident of course, just like Foley is a Democrat.

""The old loc might have gotten some traction""

Haha...might have gotten????

You must mean.....DID GET!!!
...have you looked at the polls lately????

The Rethugs are being skewered on their own petards. (I just love saying that.)

Bullshit

First this administration doesn't have the ability to pull something like a 9/11 off without screwing it up. They did use the tragedy and the fear generated and stoked by them for the purpose of a Call to War that was without question pre-desired. Which would have been impossible without such a tragedy.

For example, where is your evidence that 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11."?

Doc, "ditto"? I certainly did not expect you to use a quote like a Rush Limbaugh "dittohead". Great comeback!

Ohhhh Harry say it ain't so...

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show.

Here comes Harry's end...

Scandls seem to hit dems too. Harry hung up on the AP when called today and questioned about this... Read it on http://www.drudgereport.com

Along with ms Palosi marching an a po raid in sanfran along side known supporters of MAMBLA... What a hypocrit that hag is.

Everyone say Bye Bye Harry.... :-)

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show.
In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

The Nevada Democrat's deal was engineered by Jay Brown, a longtime friend and former casino lawyer whose name surfaced in a major political bribery trial this summer and in other prior organized crime investigations. He's never been charged with wrongdoing _ except for a 1981 federal securities complaint that was settled out of court.

Land deeds obtained by The Associated Press during a review of Reid's business dealings show:

_The deal began in 1998 when Reid bought undeveloped residential property on Las Vegas' booming outskirts for about $400,000. Reid bought one lot outright, and a second parcel jointly with Brown. One of the sellers was a developer who was benefiting from a government land swap that Reid supported. The seller never talked to Reid.

_In 2001, Reid sold the land for the same price to a limited liability corporation created by Brown. The senator didn't disclose the sale on his annual public ethics report or tell Congress he had any stake in Brown's company. He continued to report to Congress that he personally owned the land.

_After getting local officials to rezone the property for a shopping center, Brown's company sold the land in 2004 to other developers and Reid took $1.1 million of the proceeds, nearly tripling the senator's investment. Reid reported it to Congress as a personal land sale.

The complex dealings allowed Reid to transfer ownership, legal liability and some tax consequences to Brown's company without public knowledge, but still collect a seven-figure payoff nearly three years later.

Reid hung up the phone when questioned about the deal during an AP interview last week.

The senator's aides said no money changed hands in 2001 and that Reid instead got an ownership stake in Brown's company equal to the value of his land. Reid continued to pay taxes on the land and didn't disclose the deal because he considered it a "technical transfer," they said.

They also said they have no documents proving Reid's stake in the company because it was an informal understanding between friends.

The 1998 purchase "was a normal business transaction at market prices," Reid spokesman Jim Manley said. "There were several legal steps associated with the investment during those years that did not alter Senator Reid's actual ownership interest in the land."

Senate ethics rules require lawmakers to disclose on their annual ethics report all transactions involving investment properties _ regardless of profit or loss _ and to report any ownership stake in companies.

Kent Cooper, who oversaw government disclosure reports for federal candidates for two decades in the Federal Election Commission, said Reid's failure to report the 2001 sale and his ties to Brown's company violated Senate rules.

Bash --

I'm in the estate planning business and this transaction isn't really all that unusual. LLC's have been all the rage the last few years; it doesn't really look to be a shady transaction to me. What you do have is some clever twisting of words to imply that something is wrong because Reid profited from RE that "he didn't even own".

More deflection and spin...

By the way, I'd have hung up on them too.

Once again... Teddy gets put in his place... Maybe it's time we all said Bye Bye Ted... You murdering COWARD!

WASHINGTON -- When the congressional page scandal broke last month, Democrats across the country saw a chance to lambaste Republican leadership - including Diane Farrell, who called on House Speaker Dennis Hastert to step down.

But when Sen. Edward M. Kennedy came to Connecticut last week to help her campaign, Rep. Christopher Shays hit back.

"I know the speaker didn't go over a bridge and leave a young person in the water, and then have a press conference the next day," said Shays, R-4th District, referring to the 1969 incident in which the Massachusetts Democrat drove a car that plunged into the water and a young campaign worker died.

"Dennis Hastert didn't kill anybody," he added.

Shays' words were emblematic of the increasing bitterness over the fallout from the conduct of former Florida Rep. Mark Foley, a scandal that may not be helping Democrats as much as they had hoped.

The GOP had seemed to be in deep political trouble a week ago, when many Democrats were stridently insisting that Hastert quit - and pressing their Republican opponents to make the same demand.

But so far, the Democrats' idea to make Hastert the villain has not worked.

The only poll that counts is the one on election day.

Democrats and their likeminded friends in the Mainstream media have gotten themselves worked up into a frenzy about "polls" and "foley" and the imminent Democrat takeover of the Congress that they forget one major thing...Americans in general are more conservative then they let on in public, and polls are notoriusly bad indicators in predicting how people will actually vote in heated elections.

When most people go into the voting booth, they will be thinking two things:

1) Which party is going to keep me and my family safer.

2) Which party is going to allow me to keep more of my hard earned cash.

The answer to both is "The Republicans".

And teddy... The neckbrace the next day at the news conference was PATHETIC!

And teddy... The neckbrace the next day at the news conference was PATHETIC!

If my kid went to this school I would seek to revolk their charter.

MILWAUKEE -- A University of Wisconsin-Madison instructor who has come under scrutiny for saying that the U.S. government orchestrated the Sept. 11 attacks compares President Bush to Adolf Hitler in an essay that his students are being required to buy.

I would also kick the prof's ass in for good measure.

"If my kid went to this school I would seek to revolk their charter."

Why? He has reason to believe this. Have you looked at his evidence? Can you refute it? If he has evidence that supports his conclusion, shouldn't he be saying something?

Ah, but...

"I would also kick the prof's ass in for good measure."

So, now I get it....toe the official party line or we get violent against you...

That's a good American attitude...

"I'm in the estate planning business and this transaction isn't really all that unusual."

Yes I am sure it was all perfectly legal... The problem is that he NEVER REPORTED IT IN HIS STATEMENT!!!!!!! Did you miss that in total or just refuse to see it subconsiously like most on the left....

"The oil and gas lobby that has spent over $33.5 million to buy our nation's Representatives and Senators since 2000"

Cry me a river Bani, The labor unions gave $21 million in 1 year. 84% to democrats.

www.nilrr.org

"Did you miss that in total or just refuse to see it subconsiously like most on the left...."

No, I didn't miss it. I'm just not jumping to the conclusion that there's anything wrong here. It appears - on the surface - to me that he transferred property to an LLC. Many clients still consider - though it's not technically correct - that they still own the property although the LLC now does. Therefore he may not have felt that he needed to report anything.

The bigger thing is that your party and it's media friends are trying to insinuate that Harry Reid is a shady character -- just like most of the Republicans are. Deflect and spin and accuse. Desperate moves it seems to me.

Bye Bye Sandy....

A group of House Republicans called Wednesday for a congressional investigation into the improper handling of classified documents by President Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger.

Berger admitted last year that he deliberately took classified documents out of the National Archives in 2003 and destroyed some of them at his office. He pleaded guilty in federal court to one charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material and was fined $50,000.

He actually admitted that he snuck them out in his pants and socks.... After they showed him the video of him stuffing them down his pants of course..

Then he has the balls to scream about the recent 9/11 movie being untrue and inaccurate..

Yes Sandy they left out the part where you stuffed Classified documents down your pants at the national archives to keep them from the 9/11 commission...

He's TOAST!

Boy.. All this scandle is realy hurting the republicans... LOL

good link ~ elberly...ps billionaire's for bush is a joke link:>)

Bani,

opensecrets.org

again....you must remember that at least with the abc poll...there were over TEN PERCENT more dems polled than there were republicans......so any 'truth' coming from that poll just means that you are doing a jim carrey and talking outcherass.

Bash :

The Bush Administration's Justice Department disagrees with Rush and the other rightwingers that are claiming that Berger was hiding things from the 9/11 commission.

Here, let me quote Noel Hillman, the Justice Department Public Integrity chief prosecuter who handled this case :

"There is no evidence that he intended to destroy originals," said Mr. Hillman. "There is no evidence that he did destroy originals. We have objectively and affirmatively confirmed that the contents of all the five documents at issue exist today and were made available to the 9/11 Commission."

opinionjournal.com

More sound and fury from the Republicans. This case was already investigated and completed, now they just want to try to do the blame Clinton deflection once again.

So, now I get it....toe the official party line or we get violent against you...

That's a good American attitude..."

The fact that the prof is getting paid to teach our children TOTAL GIBERISH doesn't seem to bather you on the left... What the hell it's a free country right..... College isn't free...

Keep it up. America will keep walking away from you.

Bash ..

What you are saying is total gibberish and over generalization. You don't know what the CONTEXT of this professors statements are. You don't know what the purpose of his statements are or the evidence he had to support it.

Some college courses and professors deal with provacative ideas and challenge students to think outside the box. For all we know, this professor may have been one of these.

College ain't 'bout the 3 R's. You should be well beyond that by that point.

Pssst...Repubs--there's a load in your pants--just thought I'd tell you, 'cause your nose doesn't seem to be telling you...

Lets see...

Budget Defacit is down....

Oil is at 58 bucks a barrol...

What about the Dems giving TWO Standing OVATIONS to a congressman (DEM) Who Had SEX Real Sex with a page some years ago....

Face it... Leftist = Hypo....

SHould change the democratic party animal from an ASS to a Hypo.... haha haha haaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha..

"Some college courses and professors deal with provacative ideas and challenge students to think outside the box. For all we know, this professor may have been one of these"

Dcinma, what makes you think Bashthis has ever been in a college classroom? He certainly doesn't evince any hint of doing so with his posts here.

"SHould change the democratic party animal from an ASS to a Hypo.... haha haha haaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha"

Wow dude. What a wit! One of your high school buds come up with that?

Thank you, Bash. I did ask that you keep it up.

I'm not here to defend Dems. Partisanship is not my game. I'm here to call perv apologists perv apologists.

I think Rush was right today when he stated that "the Dems are sending a message that they have it in the bag... That they don't expect to lose a single existing seat and in fact expect to gain seats from republicans.."

They want us all to believe that it's hopless for the republicans to come out and vote... You would get that impression from watching CNN CBS ABC NBC... The same lame message over and over again...

We should leave Iraq... Iraq is Bad... Bush is Bad...

Yea yea we get it already.... We should run.... According to the left anyway...

"This war has caused more terrorists to join the fight"

Yea no kidding.... Realy? What did you IDIOTS think was going to happen?

When you mess with a bees nest they all come out to fight... Wow that's news.... Ground breaking...

More simple minded leftist fear mongering...

The real threat has yet to reveal itself... Does Osama have a suitcase nuke or nukes inside the US already?

There is a hot one for the leftists... When did that thing get here?

What did George Tenant tell GB about that just after 9/11?

He told GB that the serial number on one of them is 9999 and that it is of soviet manufacture.

Some claim that there are as many as six suitcase nukes hidden inside the US at this time and that Osama is waiting... Biding his time... He has three favorite dates... And six favorite cities... NYC being at the top of the list...

So keep obstructing the president with your STUPID claims to the constitution... Keep telling him he can't tap a phone without a warrent, Can't sleep derprive terrorist prisoners to get info out of them

Im just glad I live way out in the mountains.... The only consolation is that that when all six cases go off on that day in the future... Most of you leftisis will be dead.

Most of the welfare recipient/Democrats in the inner cities... Gone....

Most of the cities are in BLUE States...

My advise is this.... I would shut the hell up if I were you people and let the President do his job!

But that's just my opinion...

Yes, that's just your opinion.

And it isn't worth a damn.

WASHINGTON - As London recovers from the latest deadly al-Qaida attack that killed at least 50, top U.S. government officials are contemplating what they consider to be an inevitable and much bigger assault on America - one likely to kill millions, destroy the economy and fundamentally alter the course of history, reports Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

According to captured al-Qaida leaders and documents, the plan is called the "American Hiroshima" and involves the multiple detonation of nuclear weapons already smuggled into the U.S. over the Mexican border with the help of the MS-13 street gang and other organized crime groups.

Al-Qaida has obtained at least 40 nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union - including suitcase nukes, nuclear mines, artillery shells and even some missile warheads. In addition, documents captured in Afghanistan show al-Qaida had plans to assemble its own nuclear weapons with fissile material it purchased on the black market.

...

The plans for the devastating nuclear attack on the U.S. have been under development for more than a decade. It is designed as a final deadly blow of defeat to the U.S., which is seen by al-Qaida and its allies as "the Great Satan."

...

But the most disturbing news is that high level U.S. officials now believe at least some of those weapons have been smuggled into the U.S. for use in the near future in major cities as part of this "American Hiroshima" plan, according to an upcoming book, "The al-Qaida Connection: International Terrorism, Organized Crime and the Coming Apocalypse," by Paul L. Williams, a former FBI consultant.

According to Williams, former CIA Director George Tenet informed President Bush one month after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that at least two suitcase nukes had reached al-Qaida operatives in the U.S.

"Each suitcase weighed between 50 and 80 kilograms (approximately 110 to 176 pounds) and contained enough fissionable plutonium and uranium to produce an explosive yield in excess of two kilotons," wrote Williams. "One suitcase bore the serial number 9999 and the Russian manufacturing date of 1988. The design of the weapons, Tenet told the president, is simple. The plutonium and uranium are kept in separate compartments that are linked to a triggering mechanism that can be activated by a clock or a call from the cell phone."

According to the author, the news sent Bush "through the roof," prompting him to order his national security team to give nuclear terrorism priority over every other threat to America.

...

Bin Laden, according to Williams, has nearly unlimited funds to spend on his nuclear terrorism plan because he has remained in control of the Afghanistan-produced heroin industry. Poppy production has greatly increased even while U.S. troops are occupying the country, he writes. Al-Qaida has developed close relations with the Albanian Mafia, which assists in the smuggling and sale of heroin throughout Europe and the U.S.

Some of that money is used to pay off the notorious MS-13 street gang between $30,000 and $50,000 for each sleeper agent smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico. The sleepers are also provided with phony identification, most often bogus matricula consular ID cards indistinguishable from Mexico's official ID, now accepted in the U.S. to open bank accounts and obtain driver's licenses.

...

According to Williams' sources, thousands of al-Qaida sleeper agents have now been forward deployed into the U.S. to carry out their individual roles in the coming "American Hiroshima" plan.

Bin Laden's goal, according to the book, is to kill at least 4 million Americans, 2 million of whom must be children. Only then, bin Laden has said, would the crimes committed by America on the Arab and Muslim world be avenged.

"2 million of whom must be children"? See Article #1 for Islam's position on killing civilians.

There is virtually no doubt among intelligence analysts al-Qaida has obtained fully assembled nuclear weapons, according to Williams. The only question is how many. Estimates range between a dozen and 70. The breathtaking news is that an undetermined number of these weapons, including suitcase bombs, mines and crude tactical nuclear weapons, have already been smuggled into the U.S....

The future plan, according to captured al-Qaida agents and documents, suggests the attacks will take place simultaneously in major cities throughout the country - including New York, Boston, Washington, Las Vegas, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.

...

Hey Bashy. How do you sleep at night knowing you could be nuked any minute?

Osama bin Laden was born in 1957 and developed a bad case of "middle-child syndrome" -- he was the 17th of 52 children.

The historical record differs slightly. According to most accounts, the members met in Pakistan and pledged a blood oath to support the jihad in Afghanistan. But 1988 was a bit late for such histrionics. With the Soviets in full retreat from Afghanistan just one year later, Osama bin Laden found himself in possession of a sworn and battle-tested army, a significant personal fortune and plenty of power and influence. All he lacked was an enemy.

bin Laden had no great love for Saddam Hussein, the secular dictator of Iraq, whom he and others considered a bad Muslim. But when U.S. forces swept into the region to repel Iraq's invasion of Kuwait, bin Laden found the overt cause he lacked.

At first, bin Laden responded to the invasion with an offer to deploy his mujahideen in defense of Saudi Arabia, but he was spurned in favor of an armed assist from George HW Bush.

"Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" Snubbed as a second-rate warlord by his own country, bin Laden became a noisy political opponent of the alliance with the United States, which he characterized as a U.S. agenda to permanently establish a military foothold in the Persian Gulf.

bin Laden's incessant bitching initially led the Saudis to arrest him. But because of his popular support, which crossed international borders and social strata, the prospect of a lengthy prison term was a public relations nightmare for the Saudi regime. bin Laden was allowed to flee the country with a wink and a nod in 1991. With the support of other wealthy and influential Saudis, bin Laden began setting up operations in Afghanistan, Southeast Asia and the Sudan.

From the Sudan, bin Laden began actively working against the United States, starting no later than 1992. His stated goal was to drive U.S. forces out of the Persian Gulf. His preferred means for accomplishing that goal would be terrorism, specifically the unification of a diverse group of ragtag terrorist cabals into a global network.

"There is virtually no doubt among intelligence analysts al-Qaida has obtained fully assembled nuclear weapons, according to Williams. The only question is how many. "

Uh huh. Be afraid, Bashthis. Be very afraid.

p.s. Were those the same intelligence analysts that were convinced about WMD in Iraq?

His stated goal was to drive U.S. forces out of the Persian Gulf.

Bashthis,

Bull hooey,

I see no reason why you would even try to make a scare like this other than by political gain.

In fact, to print something like this should subject you to disturbing the peace and inciting a panick.

post a link other wise it is just your moronic thought up crap.

" prompting him to order his national security team to give nuclear terrorism priority over every other threat"

riiiiiiiiiiight

That explains the inspection of all containerized shipping and the sealed borders.

All politics is local. Democrats should not be patting themselves on the back yet.

As proven by this site...

www.electoral-vote.com

Democrats are going to make some gains... they may even take both houses of Congress, but its going to be by a slim margin at best.

BFD. 70% of the liberal posters on the DR believe the government orchestrated 9/11. And you think Republicans who think the economy is good and civil rights have improved and the environment is in good shape are "psychotic"? "Hey Bashy. How do you sleep at night knowing you could be nuked any minute?"

Why Ray... I live out in the mountains...

I worked in NYC for 20 years then moved away from the place...

90% of righty posters think Bush is doing a good job in the ME. See. Anyone can pull numbers out of their ass.

Which mountains Bathy? The Catskills?

Neither one is a Dem.
Dems blow.

When you guys can show me where Democrats have ever campaigned against people getting a blowjob at work, THEN you can compare Foley's actions to Clinton's.

What do this current bunch of Republicans have to boast about? Eisenhower Republicans would roll in their graves.

"Which mountains Bathy? The Catskills?"

No Im afraid I am a little further north than that... Just north of the Mohawk Valley...

I didn't move here out of any paronoia either, Just like the views...

I flew up to Burlington VT from Texas a number of years back in a light plane. Upstate NY is quite an eyeful.

Yes it's all yellow and orange and dotted with cows at the moment...

I didn't move here out of any paronoia either, Just like the views...

You would have fooled me.

No ray.. Honestly I made my money and got out of the rat race... That's all... I work in the school system providing computer systems and services to children.. Yes Im giving a little back Ray... It's nice to have a little Fu money... You can do those types of things.

Bash
If I had FU money, I would probably do the same thing with one difference: charity begins at home.

BTW that hysterical stuff doesn't sell around here; it's baloney. If I lived in Israel, I might think different. But on the other hand, you couldn't pay me to live in Israel or anywhere else in the ME.

What hysterical stuff? The al queda links to the suitcase bombs? They are easy enough to make... And why would the FBI guy writting the book lie about Tenant telling the pres about the bombs...

I don't think it's hysterical in nature... I just pointed out the obvious... The book is out already why don't you read it..

Scared?

The hysterical lable justifies the blocking of the wire taps... What the left has been harping on for a full year or more now...

suitcase bombs inside the US would be a pretty good arguement for tapping everyons phone calling into the US from the ME... Don't you think?

Would you like to see siz cities nuked in a single day?

I don't think that is hysterical.

In 1995 I was charged with the task of installing the worlds first biometric finger imaging system throughout a major American city.

I installed an Identix TP600 finger imaging workstation in every Police Precinct in NYC over the next year and one in every central booking location... I maintained that system for the NYPD for three years working out of 1 Police Plaza in NYC. Sixth Floor MISD section...

The NYPD guy in charge of that project was named Brian Griffin he was a lieutenant in the NYPD MISD Section... I was a civilian... His main assistant/Thorn in his side was a man named Michael Litman... A detective working in the NYPD MISD section...

These two argued back and forth all day long every day but were the best of friends... Well... Anyway one day around mid 1997 I was in their office and we got to talking about building security..

We were talking about building security because the head of NYPD Security was Busting my balls about giving me a full access ID badge for 1 police Plaza.. He didn't like me or any other spook types I guess.

Mike litman leaned into me during the conversation while I was bitching about having my balls busted again at the turnstyle down on the first floor entrance to the building..

Mike says to me. "we run a very secure Building here my son"

To which I replied "I could take this entire building from you in 10 minutes with the help of five of my friends without fireing a shot Mike"

Mike leans in again smiling and asks "with a bomb? That's been tried over at the WTC already"

To which I replied " No mike... The main air duct for the entire building runs up the outside wall all the way to the top... I could put you all to sleep in 60 secands if you realy want to know... And whats with the guys taking my tools from me all the time at the checkpoint down stairs... You take my tools but let me upstairs with five sharpened Number two pencils in my shirt pocket..... Do you have any idea what I could do to you with a number two pencil Mike"

Mike leans in Again with a smile and says " This is a secure building just like the tade center... You could never pull it off"

To which I replied "What are you going to do when some arabe flies a friggin 747 into the damn thing? Not a fucking thing My son"

Mike stops smiling and says "God Help Us my friend"

Yea so I guess I am Hysterical in nature... True Story..

Actually, it is Bush and his cabal that scare the hell out me of me. He's done more damage to this country than a fleet of 747s could do.
You would feel a lot safer in Montana.

What is noticeable in Bush's demeanor these days (his Press Conference today) is his grinning as he rolls out the cliches. By "not questioning the patriotism" of his opponents he is doing precisely that. By " being kinetic" in Iraq (grin) he thinks he means something. He also called Senator Warner
"General" Warner. "I agree with him (grin)- we have to be kinetic" "We are adjusting all the time" You just know he is grinning because he is really mad at the media and at the reality he has made.

It is getting so like fiction, so like Strangelove, so Orwellian. Scary.

"He's done more damage to this country than a fleet of 747s could do."

Can you please give some examples of the damage Bush has done to the country or that just more leftisi parroting on your part?

If you need to ask, BASHTHIS, you are too dumb to be told.

The economy is up...

Unemployment is lower than it has been in years..

Retailers are reporting record profits...

Gaas is back down...

Oil is going down...

Interest rate down...

We got a tax break...

If you earn less than 30,000 a year in America you qualify for FREE Medical Benifefits for you and your children...

The dow id at what 11,900... I didn't look today..

I just don't seem to feel the gloom and doom you on the left feel...

I guess that you feel that somehow the fact the N Koria detonated a DUD this week endangers us?

I guess you feel that the french not aggreeing with our policy in Iraq ruins our standing in the world?

By the way.. Many french UN typs were taking HUGE amuonts of Cash from Saddam...

What is it that Bush has done that makes you claim this stuff?

It just isn't there man... The War? The war was going to happen no matter who the president was... We got attacked... Time to put a stop to that.

You're angry that the terrorists are actually fighting back? Or are you frightened about that? What did you think they would do?

I Mean what does the guy have to do?

Bring you Jesus?

"Can you please give some examples of the damage Bush has done to the country or that just more leftisi parroting on your part?"

While Ray is working on that lengthy list, perhaps you could give some examples of what he has done that is good or even mediocre. Comparing both lists will likely show who the real parrot is.

"If you need to ask, BASHTHIS, you are too dumb to be told."

Oh thats what he did?

That's a great point and a great answer to my question....

"perhaps you could give some examples of what he has done that is good or even mediocre" Please see above...

Man you type S l o w

As I said earlier BASHTHIS, ditto.

The economy is up...
That is rather vague.

Unemployment is lower than it has been in years..
Years referring to earlier in his Presidency.

Retailers are reporting record profits...
So Bush is causing people to shop more?

Gaas is back down...
That would actually indicate that is was Bush's fault that gas prices increased to start with.

Oil is going down...
Again, this would indicate that Bush was the cause of it going up.

Interest rate down...
No, it is up.

The budget defficet is almost cut in half..
LOL, hardly any national debt at all. Let's compare this to when he entered office.

We got a tax break...
And a national deficit.

The dow id at what 11,900... I didn't look today..
So now he is responsible for Wall Street as well.

I just don't seem to feel the gloom and doom you on the left feel...

You didn't seem to understand enought to get any real feelings.

It just isn't there man... The War? The war was going to happen no matter who the president was... We got attacked... Time to put a stop to that.

I'll be tolerant : What does the above sentence mean?

I'm no lefty or righty. He's the latest in a string of presidents that are bankrupting the country and trashing the Constitution. We look towards government ot protect our liberty. We have one that violates it every day.

It's a big subject. This website goes into more detail:
Freedom foundation and see antiwar.com and search james bovard.

My last for the night.

"Man you type S l o w"

Actually we posted at the same time, assuming that you are able to tell time.

"It just isn't there man... The War? The war was going to happen no matter who the president was... We got attacked..."

Any President would have attacked the wrong country? That sounds incorrect.

"Gaas(sic) is back down."

Well I have not checked the price of gallium arsenide lately, but gasoline is still way over $2.

"The budget defficet(sic) is almost cut in half.."

zfacts.com

"The dow id(sic) at what 11,900... I didn't look today.."

"We got attacked."

By Osama, not Iraq.
Where's Osama?

"As I said earlier BASHTHIS, ditto." Well where are your exaamples??????

What has Bush wrecked about this country???

Where is your list?

Are you just too lazy to type more than five words or are you just that confused?

Our economy is frigging BOOMING Dude! We were on our asses after 9/11 and made this HUGE comeback....

You are all just sticks in the mud... You don't have any real issues...

The one issue you think you have is that the War is going on still...

Yea No shit... They are actually fighting for their cause which most of you don't even know what it is...

The terrorists want to establish a califate and take over ALL THE OIL STATES.

"The terrorists want to establish a califate and take over ALL THE OIL STATES"

If nothing else, this little fellow provides quite a bit of comic relief.

"Our economy is frigging BOOMING Dude"

LOL, no doubt a direct quote from Greenspan, himself.

"califate "

The fate of those who were californicated.

"The U.S. current-account deficit increased $5.2 billion to $218.4 billion (preliminary) in the second quarter of 2006."

bea.gov

" Real GDP increased at an annual rate of 2.6 percent in Q2 2006, according to final estimates."

bea.gov

"Total July exports of $120.0 billion and imports of $188.0 billion resulted in a goods and services deficit of $68.0 billion. (Joint release with the U.S. Census Bureau)"

Our economy is frigging BOOMING Dude!

What is your definition of booming?

Is this your definition of booming economy:

EYE ON AMERICA
The US, debtor nation
By Peter Morici

The United States is a debtor nation, just like the poorest states in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Since the fourth quarter of last year, US citizens and businesses have paid more dividends, interest and the like to foreigners than they have received from abroad.

This kind of economic boom:

A grim economic pointer for the US
By Emad Mekay

WASHINGTON - One of the world's most exclusive business clubs warned the United States on Tuesday that its open-ended national-security and war expenditures, along with tax cuts that led to large budget deficits, could affect the country's status as a powerful economic force.

The Geneva-based World Economic Forum (WEF) issued its 2006-07 Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) rankings and listed the US in sixth place, down from the top spot, behind Switzerland, Finland and Sweden and just ahead of Japan.

The top 10 countries are all rich nations. They are Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Singapore, the United States, Japan, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The report says that with potentially even higher spending commitments in defense and "homeland security", which comes with the US "war on terror", and ongoing plans to lower taxes further, the United States faces difficult fiscal balancing.

"With a low savings rate, record-high current-account deficits and a worsening of the US's net debtor position, there is a non-negligible risk to both the country's overall competitiveness and, given the relative size of the US economy, the future of the global economy," said Augusto Lopez-Claros, chief economist of the WEF's Global Competitiveness Network.

This the kind of booming economy you talking about. So booming that we dropped from the #1 position to the #6 position in one year.

Booming I tell ya, just booming.

Any President would have attacked the wrong country? That sounds incorrect.

Well who should we have attacked??

We already attacked Afghanistan... The taliban was done when we attacked Iraq... Yes they are coming back to a degree... But you all want it both ways... NATO is in charge in afghanistan... You all wanted the UN and NATO in charg in Iraq but Bush didn't agree..

Maybe we should pass it to NATO at this time... They would get their asses kicked and we would have to bail them out anyway...

But NATO is running Iraq and the Left is complaining that Afghanistan is BAD... The left wanted NATO to run IRAQ...

We can't win either way we go.

Should we attack North Koria? There were what 16 UN resolutions in place that Saddam was ignoring... Clinton was lobbing missiles... It was coming either way... I know I am right that if a dem were elected in 2000 we still would have attacked Iraq... Anyone saying otherwise is simply saying otherwise... There is an agenda in place..

There are currently far lass UN sanctions in place against North Koria than there were on Iraq...

The fact that the terrorists are actually fighting back seems to be bomming most of the lefties here out...

But I keep asking... What the hell did you think they would do.

The truth be told... The terrorist want to fight with all they have for Iraq... they want to make that their starting place for this Great Califate they wish to install over the entire ME... I think it's the will on their part to take over the entire middle east that will ultimatly doom them... They want to take over all the oil in the name of their God.... They will ultimatly be crushed... Better to fight them in one main place than in sixty countries around the world in small groups...

If we defeat them... And I am sure we will.. The Califate idea will die on the vine... They will die on the vine for lack of a nation to support their cause in large numbers...

Iraq is the ideal place to have it out once aand for all if you ask me...

They will never win... We will

The suitcase nuke report above is not from an "FBI guy," but from a "former FBI consultant." Know how many of those there are? And the story is from Web sites that are known propaganda mills. Might as well quote one of those supermarket tabloids, the ones with badly faked photos of Martians and space ships and Bible prophecies.

That said, if there really are suitcase nukes or similar weapons in the hands of Al Quaeda, I would expect Islamic terrorists to want to get them into the ME more than in the US--to be used against US forces and against Israel. But I'm not their strategist by any means, so I can't do anything more than speculate. If there's hard intel on this, we can be sure that massive resources are being devoted to these concerns, unless, of course, somebody wants to "let it happen" for political gain a la the "tinfoil hat" theories. That would be despicable.

I am ALL for vigorously pursuing terrorism everywhere it exists. No tying the hands. But we already had laws allowing this--including the FISA courts. They are not some leftist bureaucracy that will thwart genuine law enforcement and intelligence efforts. They approved a vast majority of investigations over the years. Very few times they said no, and only to vast overreaching. I don't buy the argument that we have to give the government and its spooks unchecked, blanket power to put anybody and everybody under surveillance on a mere whim, with zero oversight.

If there's ever a nuke in the US, there's unavoidably going to be a huge question mark over this country as to who did it: AQ, PNAC, or some "friendly" intelligence agency, rogue division. A significant part of the public is cautious about buying into anything at face value now.

But Bash, your gleeful desire to see your political "enemies" nuked is thinly disguised. Tells a lot about you. If you had a nuke or six, we can feel pretty sure you'd like to set them off just to prove the superior righteousness of your political views--your post on suitcase nukes simply reads like a naked threat. Partisanship, indeed anything, is not worth that. It would be a grave sin for anyone to set off a nuke in a US city. Quite, quite unforgivable, in this world or the next.

So keep obstructing the president with your STUPID claims to the constitution...

Classic. The same person who would probably tell me the Second Amendment protects your right to own an AK-47 dismisses the importance of the entire Constitution. If you have a problem with the civil liberties we enjoy, take it up with the Founding Fathers.

Most of the welfare recipient/Democrats in the inner cities... Gone....

Do you have any idea how much welfare farmers receive in this country?

"Do you have any idea how much welfare farmers receive in this country?"

Corporate America may well be the biggest bunch of welfare junkies in the entire country. They get bailed out, loans guaranteed, and crap bought and paid for by the taxpayers. And then they blather on about "the free market" and "free enterprise."

Doc,

I for one am all for eliminating the government dole. No more social programs and no more god-damned corporate welfare.

We'd be operating at a surplus in no time and would actually be able to pay down some of the national debt AND cut taxes at the same time.....

not mine, but funny nonetheless
