"He's ticked off big-time," said a well-informed source, "even if what they said was the truth."

You gotta luv it!

He feels betrayed by those who spoke to Woodward, furious over the Foley scandal and the fact that he was friendly with Foley and biked with him.

He knows the writing is on the wall for Congress and nobody has come up with a strategy for Iraq, or anything else. br />
North Korea has defied him and Iran continues to do so.

Bush going into petulance mode?

Somebody's gonna get bombed.

That's why I said Watch Out. Scary.

the Foley scandal and the fact that he was friendly with Foley and biked with him.

I wonder if Jeff Gannon 'bikes'.

Bush's Mood has Blackened

Good. Dude defintely could use some soul knowhatimean?

There have been several dramatizations of Hitler's final days in the bunker. I wonder how the current White House compares. I wonder if Dubya has yet asked Condi to get down on her knees and - er - pray with him. herm

Nixon was said to roam the halls of the White House drunk, talking to the portraits of past presidents.

Bush seems to be more of an adrenaline junkie and probably just gets by on his prescribed SSRIs and maybe a little pemoline when he's feeling especially blue.

And he probably doesn't talk to the portraits. Hell, except for Lincoln and McKinley, Karl won't even tell him who they are.

Here's the part I like:
"Bush is less worried about his standing with history, telling aides that George Washington's legacy is still being debated two centuries later."

After four years, Iraq and Afghanistan are deteriorating badly. Arab resistance is growing. He's made this country along with Israel the world's pariahs. Debt spending running out of control. And we haven't had the Bush depression yet. This guy is living in lalaland. He's going to be remembered as America's disaster president. He makes Herber Hoover look good.

"....telling aides that George Washington's legacy is still being debated two centuries later."

And they say "Oh Mister president you are so wise - I never would have thought of that. He was the dude with the cherry tree, right?"

C'mon RCADE, you're getting lazy. Sitdown beat you by 2 hours on the Backpage!

Bwaaaaaanh!!!!!

"He's ticked off big-time, even if what they say is the truth...."

Sign of a great man.

Snort!!!

Ever hear of the Midas Touch?
Bush has the Porta Potty Touch, everything turns to shit.

Said one source: "He's ticked off big-time, even if what they said was the truth."

That's the party of open and honest government for you.
The truth? What's that?

Bush may be furious with the GOP (join the club!!), but in actuallity I'd bet he's scared shitless.

Democrats, oversight, investigations and subpeonas are a commin'! To Bush they just might look like the 4 horsemen of his apocolypse.

It'll be interesting to see if Bush loses the "Cowboy crap" if the Dems take control in November.
A contrite Bush would be a sight to see.

He probably could use a nice stiff drink.

Why does this seem SO APPROPRIATE?!?!?!?

On the top floor, from my penthouse
I survey what I rule
High rises
Thin curtains
All lights go out by two

No one ever sees me
Yet I know all of you
It's sort of like a small town
When your whole lives are on my computer

Ah... Ah...

All the power, none of the stress
So much better being hatchet man
Than a henpecked attention-starved target
Like the big man himself

Our goal is perpetual economic victory
We play with you to amuse ourselves
Our motives are personal
Our motives are political
Our motives are sexual
I know

Hi Ho Hi Ho Hi Ho

The laws we make for others
Don't apply to us
We do what we want

A lethargic population is the key to our control
Who'd rather watch someone's life on tv
Than participate in their own
Mentally they feel helpless
Physically they just give up
We priced the healthy food so high
They can only buy soda pop

Well a real leader would face the adversity head on and come up with a creative solution to the problem.

That being said, Bush will sulk.

He should come here. BLT and 101 and Vernon could all tell him what a great leader and brilliant military strategist he is.

I'm sure they have a place of honor for him in Tehran. Nobody ever gave them a country before.

Pssst, George.

Babs called it your... oh never mind I'm on 2 dumps.

Poor old George. They're talking out of school. They never did that at Skull and Bones. There a fella could trust a fella.

Hey, George. Skull and Bones is a relic from a bygone age created so that overprivileged fratboys can do what overprivileged fratboys like to do but can't in public. The United States of America is a Republic that operates on the freely given consent of an informed populace. Mostly they take a dim view of what goes on in secret societies and that includes your Skull and Bones administration.

GWB is scared shitless because if insiders talk about what really happened in the lead up to the Iraq war and in its aftermath he may be looking at impeachment and a long stint in prison. The man is a criminal. And he is no longer so sure whether he will be able to get away with his crimes.

Poor Georgie Porgie without a Happy Place. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Well Georgie, welcome to the rest of America. We aren't happy either. In fact, rather pissed off that you have pissed away our dreams. Get used to it, sucker.

The President, despite being angry is looking ahead and trying to work with what he has and will done everything he can. Like him or hate him, he's doing his best us trying to help his party with the current situation situation.

" he's doing his best us trying to help his party with the current situation situation."

Just like the past six years...his best isn't good enough.

"Like him or hate him, he's doing his best us trying to help his party with the current situation situation."

"Don't shoot the piano player - he's doing the best he can" just won't cut it when he's slaughtering thousands of Americans and Iraqis for no reason other than his pride and Big Oil's coffers. There's no A for effort in global politics. herm

Impeach the ass...

Nov 8 could be the happy place for a lot of people. Perhaps we should have poll monitors stationed throughout TN, MO, OH, VA & MN to make sure that there's no hanky panky from people trying too hard to make W happy.

(Besides, when W and Dick are retired, they'll have plenty of loot to share between themselves. Surely lucre will make them hapy, because it is their hearts' deepest motivation.)

I hear that AEI and PNAC are asking the super-wealthy, and arch-conservative

(JM) McKenna, Coors, Koch and Scaife families to contribute to a retirement home for unhappy neocon retirees.

Great read:

If you're personally responsible for wasting over 3,000 lives and blowing our treasury while making our enemies stronger, you're supposed to be unhappy.

I don't know how I'd sleep at night if I were him.

Know what? You are right. I blame the RNC for putting an incompetent person like Bush on the ballot. I blame the 59 million idiots who voted for this retard. They are to blame.

I do blame him for not surrounding himself with bright people. Rice and Rummey are two of the worst choices for members of a cabinet I have ever seen. But then again it was probably Rove who chose them so I guess Bush is off the hook for them as well.

Sully,

I doubt Bush is upset about those items.

The 3,000 soldiers and tens of thousands permanently scarred he could care less about.

The treasury? Well that went to his war profiteering buddies so he is probably happy about that.

What he is pissed off about is his legacy.

He went from one of the most loved and respected presidents on 9/12/2001 to one of the most hated and despised presidents now.

But to give him credit for being pissed off about the soldiers or the country is giving him too much credit. He is pissed off about his legacy. Plain and simple. Like a little rich punk would naturally be.

I would have to say that he is probably very unhappy about the Democrats having the opportunity to regain control of the Congress.

It could spell the beginning of impeachement proceedings.

Now there is a legacy for you.

"What he is pissed off about is his legacy."

Perhaps.

I'd also suggest he's pissed off because he can't get his way, and stomping his feet doesn't seem to be furthering that goal.

When I think of Bush, I can't help but envision a man whose emotional maturity got frozen somewhere between 7th grade and his high school graduation.

8th grade

Well Dopeya - Welcome to our world - which has been black since November of 2000.

Chimpy McFlightsuit is a spoiled arrogant jackass. He likely holds his breath and stomps his feet when he doesn't get his way. He cannot tolerate anything but extreme ass-kissing by his cabinet and party.

At least I won't have the BAD memory of voting twice for the WORST PRESIDENT IN US HISTORY.

""Know what? You are right. I blame the RNC for putting an incompetent person like Bush on the ballot. I blame the 59 million idiots who voted for this retard. They are to blame.""

They aren't to blame for being stupid. Media like Fox News is to blame for being a propaganda machine which managed to convince the stupid half of the nation that Dubya was really presidential material. Any halfway intelligent person could tell he wasn't even a competent governer much less a presidential candidate.

He makes Herber Hoover look good.

We'll all know it's really over for Bush when they start removing the 'Worst President ever' plaque from under the White House portrait of Warren G. Harding.

He went from one of the most loved and respected presidents on 9/12/2001 to one of the most hated and despised presidents now.

Posted by JimmyWallback at 2006-10-10 08:28 AM

And exactly who does he have to blame for that but himself.

OCU

Best president ever, if the illegal and criminal Iraq war have been won?

So the US should be thankful to the Iraq resistance.

what a remarkably revealing thread this is.......what a bunch of whining and moaning from a group of supposedly adults.......
but please dont stop. you are the best thing we have going for us in november.

Absolutely revealing, all summed up by the Great Fribo: "So the US should be thankful for the Iraq resistance."

Typical liberal. Scumbag through and through. Go Dems!!!!

fribo........you should be ashamed for writing that either in jest or you mean it. Please remember that when chris post the names of the killed servicemen for the week on this site.....because I will remember exactly what you said as I Read their names.......

"because I will remember exactly what you said as I Read their names......."

Yeah, blame some guy making stupid comments on the internet. But keep being a "Bushlover". All he did was send those guys over there for no reason and without a plan. He was barely involved at all.

sully....I dont blame him at all for saying something like that..hell it could have come out of howard dean's mouth anyway....I just said that I will remember his words when I read thier names.....

BLT: Other words to remember when you read the list:
On "Meet the Press" in March 2003, Cheney blithely dismissed Tim Russert when the host asked what would happen if "we're not treated as liberators but as conquerors."
Not to worry, said Cheney: "I don't think it's likely to unfold that way, Tim, because I really do believe we will be greeted as liberators."
***
Q Tony, American deaths in Iraq have reached 2,500. Is there any response or reaction from the President on that?

MR. SNOW: It's a number, and every time there's one of these 500 benchmarks people want something.
***
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all very much. Admiral Kelly, Captain Card, officers and sailors of the USS Abraham Lincoln, my fellow Americans: Major combat operations in Iraq have ended.
But I don't think you voted for Fribo? Did you vote for Bush?

"I just said that I will remember his words when I read thier names....."

I think what he said was stupid and insensitive. But why be offended by that if you actually admire the person who sent those guys over there without a plan to die for no reason? Claiming to be a Bushlover and claiming to care about the people dying in Iraq seems to be inconsistent. If you love Bush and his policies then you must be for sending young people to die in Iraq without a plan and for no reason.

He should be tried for murder and betraying his county. Bush will rot for eternity in Hell.

Anyone not seeking to turn an ironic asside into a scathing indictment of inhumanity can see that Fribo's singular point was that if Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq had followed competent plans which did foster a stable, non-violent Iraq, then Bush would have been hailed as a great president for seeing his vision through to fruition.

The fly in the ointment happens to be largely Iraqis who don't think much of the military occupation of their nation by US troops, nor these same US troops allowing their country to be turned into "terror-training central" when all they wanted was to be relieved from Saddam's brutal yoke. And since the three major ethnic groups don't much like each other, Bush has now enmeshed our overworked troops ina civil war which our military can never win. Success is measured in how little we lose, not in how much we've gained from the highpoint of the elections.

He likely holds his breath and stomps his feet when he doesn't get his way.

No, that is only when he eats pretzels.

To think how much safer the world would be today if only it were for a pretzel.

MR. SNOW: It's a number, and every time there's one of these 500 benchmarks people want something

**************************

To this administration a dead soldier is only a number.

Can you get lower than that?

Fricking right wing scum. Nothing more.

Well, this thread sure doesn't seem to be Bush's happy place either.

""but please dont stop. you are the best thing we have going for us in november.""

That says a lot about Republican chances in November.

I'd say that in November, thousands of shredders will be whirring. There'll be a lot more missing from Washington than the W keys (yes, I know, an urban legend).

I'm going to grab some popcorn and sit back while the cons try to work from the same old playbook now that 57% of America is definitely not Bush's happy place, and they push that number well into the 70s.

Does Bush listen to Rush Limbaugh?

Yesterday we get this story that Bush is in the dumps, and today Rush's show sounds like it was custom designed to be an audio Zoloft for neocons.

At this point they should be all fired up, chomping at the bit, and this sounds like a last ditch atempt to stave off a mass suicide!

stave off a mass suicide

I'd settle for a mass ridicule and a couple of good show trials.

People often do weird stuff when they're all loaded on too many antidepressants.

"Anyone not seeking to turn an ironic asside into a scathing indictment of inhumanity can see that Fribo's singular point was that if Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq had followed competent plans which did foster a stable, non-violent Iraq, then Bush would have been hailed as a great president for seeing his vision through to fruition."

Yeah, obviously if Bush had the talent to accomplish an extremely difficult task such as ousting Hussein and replacing him with a democracy, people would recognize it (I would still be asking why it was our job to do that). But if he had that kind of talent, he'd deserve some credit.

I still don't find it "an ironic aside" that someone would be thankful that Iraq is a living hell becaue it stops Bush from looking good. I'd rather Bush look good than see people die to prove he's a moron.

sully....I dont blame him at all for saying something like that..hell it could have come out of howard dean's mouth anyway....I just said that I will remember his words when I read thier names.....

I will answer with the names of tenthousends of Iraqi womens and children. Their blood is coming over you.

I hope the rotten bastard is miserable-serves him right for bein' such a useless dickhead.

On the other hand-he isn't ENTIRELY useless....

He can ALWAYS be used as a bad example...

W's biggest concern is his father. Dad's gonna call him a loser for the umpteenth time and W's gonna cry.

Oh, that and all those investigations waiting to happen.

Wow, JimmyWallBack--you're quite a shill for the DNC, aren't you?

Here's the entire quote:

MR. SNOW: It's a number, and every time there's one of these 500 benchmarks people want something. The President would like the war to be over now. Everybody would like the war to be over now. And the one thing that we saw in Iraq this week is further testimony to the quality of the men and the women who are doing that, and the dedication and determination to try to ensure that the people of Iraq really do live in a free, effective democracy of their own creation and design.

Any President who goes through a time of war feels very deeply the responsibility for sending men and women into harm's way, and feels very deeply the pain that the families feel. And this President is no different.

I dunno RiR, although you made a good point by posting the full quote (thank you), you still can't prove what's in W's heart anymore than you can prove where the universe came from.

Personally, I think W is too befuddled and confused to have any perspective whatsoever. I think he has no clue what a soldier is or does and doesn't really care what happens to them. I think he sees himself as concerned with the "big picture" and can't see the trees for the forest. But I can't prove any of this, it's just my feeling.

Tragic that one can even think that about a President of the United States, but this one absolutely invites such thoughts as one watches him. He is so clueless, so angry because they told him it was going to be fun, so incompetent that he doesn't think about anything other than dumb stuff like "they are still discussing George Washington's legacy" and "why should I worry about North Korea" and, "Iraq will be a comma in history".

He is "concerned about the Big Picture" but at the same time he has no clue what it is.

All we can do - I keep saying this I know - the only message we can send - is VOTE ALL and ANY Republicans OUT in November. It is all we can do so let's DO IT!

Boy, when I've been fired, I've been fired WAY before this.

Sure he can find his happy place - but his momma said he shouldn't oughta do that in public!

Yup. I've lived overseas for ten years and haven't bothered voting because I'm from NY and our electoral votes go to the Democrat with or without my input. I was enjoying the anonymity.

But I just found out I can also vote in congressional elections (was told by an Orange County clerk that I could not do that!) and went to votefromabroad.org and signed up. I'll vote specifically anti-party for the first time in my life.

And I'm actually a registered Republican, a leftover from a crazy period in my life :-)

Bush Can't Find His Happy Place. In related news, Laura complains that Bush can't find her happy place either. Developing ...
