Hey, RIR. I can't really think of many far-right musicians. Ted Nugent is one. I still own his first, absolutely classic album, the one with "Stranglehold," even though I disagree with his politics. (I think he's a sincere guy, however, and I respect his beliefs.) I used to kinda like Charlie Daniels, even met him once, but his anti-gay and anti-foreigner comments are just too much to take. Alice Cooper, I think, is fairly conservative, but when the hell did he last have a relevant record out?

I hadn't seen a poll about this, but someone should do a poll on whether people believe Bush is a dumb fuck, and let's see what America thinks.

I was eating a nice dinner Monday night with friends (Republican by the way) at PF Changs. We were talking about what a mess Bush has made of everything he's touched.

Young Republican guy at the next table turns to us and shouts, "Would you just shut the fuck up"!!

My Republican friend said to him, "First of all, mind your own business. Secondly, this IS still America where we're allowed to voice our opinion, and thirdly, I wouldn't vote for another Bush backer if they held a gun to my head". Shut the guy up. Then the guy's mortified wife grabbed her purse and stormed out after calling her dumb-fuck-loving husband an asshole. Right on !!!!

So Ms. Maines called Dumbya a "dumb f**k".

Why would she flatter him?

I have always found the Chix to be a class act, and I think that they represent the true spirit of America. We need more people like them that especially the one who looks like Edwards wife on a bad day and I wouldn't touch with a thirty foot and thank God they have the balls that GWB doesn't to practice what they preach. Would you go to a dentist or lawyer who you knew to be a staunch conservative?

Would you purchase products made by non-US countries or other entities opposed to your liberal views?

Among your friends, how many would you consider to be known conservatives? If you were introduced to a person and were told he/she was a Bush backer would you trust that person?

I take it as a given that 95% of dentists and corporate lawyers are conservatives. Other lawyers I assume to be about 66/33% conservatives. Why should someone's reasonable political views make any difference when you're looking for a service -- professional or otherwise? There's a great deal of difference between such people and those that support Bush no matter what. There's a lot of them here in Texas.

I have walked out of small businesses like locksmiths and vacuum repair shops where rightwingradio or FOX was playing or there were rabid right wing posters on the walls. I think these people are either stupid or extremist right wing nutjobs and I won't support them. I'd do the same in places where stupid extremist left-wing nutjobs were present if there were any. I won't shop at Walmart or 711 either for much the same reasons.

In 2004 many conservatives simply could not bring themselves to vote for Bush and either spoiled their ballot or stayed away, a lot of anecdotal evidence such as AllAmerican's post and in my own experience suggest that number has grown considerably since. Whether that will translate into a significant anti-Republican vote when many Repubs up for election are running away from Bush is anybody's guess.

Meanwhile we're stuck with the "dumb fuck" whatever happens in November.
