The number of Americans calling themselves Republican has fallen to its lowest level in more than two-and-a-half years. Just 31.9% of American adults now say they're affiliated with the GOP. That's down from 37.2% in October 2004 and 34.5% at the beginning of 2006.

Throw Out The American's Taliban!
- The Republican Party!

I am proud to be a Rebuplican. You can have your Nancy Pelosi's and Ted Kennedy's.

It sounds like the Democrats should be able to beat Reublicans in every congressional race. But wait could this be true,

"The number of Democrats has grown slightly, from 36.1% at the beginning of the year to 37.3% now."

What'sthematter U. 31.9% to 37.3% with a statistical error rate of an UNREPORTED .
There are lies, damn lies, and statistics. No statistical analyisi is without a sampling error. Any summation of statistical sampling MUST be presented with an assumed error rate.

And "unaffiliated" have increased to 30.8% . Sounds like most elections are still undecieded!

"Sounds like most elections are still undecieded!"

I really think you're on to something very, very BIG here:

The November elections won't be held until...NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the tip.

If we are really comitted to DEMOCRACY, shouldn't we encourage universal suffrage? Interesting article on places in the USA where voting has become a challenge:

And why not? They've done such a spectacular job of proving the conservatives pet theory that govt is run by idiots and doesn't work.

So elect more republicans. They keep proving this so right.

"There are lies, damn lies, and statistics."

DAVETHEWAVE: "I am proud to be a Rebuplican....should be able to beat Reublicans..."

--- Dave, I apologize for pointing out your typos (Lord knows, I am not immune). But twice in your post you mispelled that very thing that you extoll.

On the other hand, twice in your post you spell 'Democrats' perfectly.

Just a thought, but your subconscious might be subliminally suggesting that you re-examine your political alignment.... you know....cognitive dissonance at work... what with all of the unreconcilable hypocrisies that have been forced upon our nation over the past six years by the ruling party.

And I say this, not as a Democrat, but as an Independent.

It's not my fault I can't spell! It's Rcade's fault that we don't have automatic spellcheck. What's up with that???

If you are young and you are not a democrap, you don't have a heart...

If you're old and you are not a Republican you don't have a brain!!

But the way the reublicaans are overspending, maybe the deemocrats may be the new fiscal conservatives??? (I would consider changing parties for that!!!!)

The Reps that are in now are not coservative! Conservative and liberal have nothing to do with religion but how and where we spend our money. It seems to me that the only difference between the two parties now is the speed in which we find ourselvs hurling toward a bankrupt social state. It started with FDR and a chicken in every pot and no president has changed our course since then. Some have speeded it up with The Great Society but none have stopped it. Some have slowed it but none have turned it around.

Our government grows every year and we sit on our fat asses drinking beer and watching sports on the big screen. We bitch because the government isn't there with our disaster aid or our welfare check fast enough so we can make the cable payments. We are truly fat, dumb and happy.

I was going to say

SNIPER: "in which we find ourselvs hurling toward a bankrupt social state.

---- as opposed to what?.....a bankrupt corporate-welfare state? Are you not concerned about your taxpayer dollars subsidizing costs and benefits within corporations? Or the good-ol-boy deals with in the defense industry?

Many sources contribute to the financial burden shouldered by taxpayers.

"It's Rcade's fault"

typical response....

it's the democrats fault iraq isn't going as planned.

it's the media's fault that the general public is shying away from supporting the war.

it's clintons fault 9/11 happened.

Cosmic,

I offered once I'll trade you all social spending for all corporate welfare. Right now we can't aford either.

Maybe Dave is like Mr. Mxyzptlk: if you actually get him to spell "Republifundie" correctly, he disappears into the fifth dimension.

Repubs Grow More Scarce

Well, no shit Sherlock! Bush has 'em all curled up, lying in the corner, scared to hell that an Islamofacsistnarcoterroristsym pathizerjihadistfatwahbi is going to destroy their freedoms because they hate us. Its amazing they aren't afraid to breath! At the rate their stealing the country blind, air is about the only thing people are going to be able to afford anyway, and Halliburton just contracted for the concession.

Town & Country,

Thanx fer them linx!!

As always T&C provides Spud with mondo interesting links.

The Barry Au-H20 article was interesting in light of todays changing definitions of wot is is.

Spud agrees that Goldwaters brand of conservatism would reject categorically the so-called neo-conservative movement as it exists today.

Yer links from Mother Jones vis a vis the inconsistency and unreliability of the voting process was a real eye opener.

Spud knew it was bad but not that bad.

Spud likee Mother Jones.

They got their MoJo working!

Be Well.

"At the rate their stealing the country blind, air is about the only thing people are going to be able to afford anyway, and Halliburton just contracted for the concession."

That's funny flag #2 fer Tony today!

Spud thinks that's GREAAAAAAT!

Must have a tiger in his tank or sommat sez Spud!

(Spud ducks after making that last joke)

Somebody just threw a tomato at me wee spuddish head!

It were a Roma tomato too!

www.fotosearch.com

Wot are the odds on THAT happening?

Be Well.

Wavey Davey sed...

"If you are young and you are not a democrap, you don't have a heart...

If you're old and you are not a Republican you don't have a brain!!
"

Actually Spud heard that kinda differently...

"If you're young and you're not a liberal you have no heart.

If you're old and you're not a conservative you have no bank account."

Liberalism, in a sense, is a function of youth.

It's liberalisms duty to suggest new and better ways to do things.

Conservatisim is a function of age.

It conservatisms duty to make sure that in the process of looking fer a brighter future we do not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Conservatism needs age to be able to say with integrity that it was better the way we did it before.

In a properly functioning democracy that ying and yang is neccessary.

These days the natural dichotomy between those two mindsets has been abbrogated by largely corporate powers.

The equation is out of balance.

The people power has been usurped.

This aggression cannot be allowed to stand!

Be Well.

Republicans are like weeds. They may temporarily go away, but they always grow back. They have deep roots in the fertile natural stupidity of Christian fundamentalists.

Good point MODER8!!

Repubs in Ohio like DeWine and Pryce are labeling themselves more as "Independants" than Repubs in their adverts. BTW Man, it sucks watching the news this time of year with all the political BS ads.

We're not scarce, we're just laying low till November so the heartbreak will once again be devastating. Stealth is how we roll, beyotches!
