It is true the Republicans are probably going to get what the deserve come election time, but does anyone really know what the Democrat's plan is on immigration? What do they plan to do about Iraq?
Humm ... they support gay marriage, want to raise taxes, and ... oh, wait. Nevermind.

They will do a better if imperfect job on everything you can name. That's enough. Throw out Republicans! That is the message.

"Throw out Republicans! That is the message." Kind of what I'm trying to say is that, not only is this "the message," it is the ONLY message. Name two Democrat ideas other than taxes, gay marriage, and get rid of Bush (not that I am entirely opposed to the last idea).

Here Are A Few From Joe Biden: As the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Biden is widely recognized as a leading expert on national security. He's also been a leader in the effort to secure the homeland. Senator Biden knows that real security begins at home, and he demonstrated his concern for domestic security when he called for stronger defenses against terrorism within our borders long before the attacks of September 11. Senator Biden also understands that security is about more than law enforcement. That's why he's working to ensure that our parents and grandparents can be financially secure in their later years. He's worked to protect pensions and for drug-prescription programs that won't drain their savings. He's also worked to preserve the environment for all generations, by blocking efforts to weaken the laws that safeguard our air, water and food. -Sarge

The only hope is that IF the Democrats take control of the House and Senate is that they will be so consumed with impeaching Bush AND Cheney that they won't have time to pass anymore laws. Fact is, the whole DC crowd should be tossed out--including the bureaucrats, reporters, lobbyists--except, maybe, the hookers. At least they're plying an honest trade. How about we cut funding for any form of security and hope that the whole place blows up or burns.

Joe Biden On The Military: Sen. Biden has worked hard to ensure that our Armed Forces are adequately funded and efficiently utilized so they can protect our nation. He's working hard to ensure that our soldiers and their families have a high quality of life. Sen. Biden has also strongly supported measures to address readiness problems, aging equipment and recruitment and retention difficulties. He has also been a champion of Dover Air Force Base and the vital strategic airlift capability that it provides our military. Today, Senator Biden continues to work to further modernize our military to make it more effective and efficient. biden.senate.gov So That Bullshit Democrats Cut Defense Spending Is A Myth!! -Sarge

Here is Biden's stance on Iraq: "Sen. Biden favored removing Saddam Hussein from power but he believes the Administration rushed to war and didn't have a plan to win the peace. As a longtime member of the Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Biden knows that no foreign policy may be sustained without the informed consent of the American people. And of all the mistakes the Bush Administration made in Iraq, perhaps the biggest was they never leveled with the American people." (biden.senate.gov) Did you notice any mention of a plan? Don't get me wrong, I agree that Bush screwed up in Iraq (but like Biden, I favored the removal of Saddam Hussein), it's just that I haven't heard of very many new ideas coming from the Democrats.

6. The war to constitutionally end gay marriage is going WELL. 7. The war to stop massive outbreaks of flag burning is going WELL. 8. The war to reduce middle class compensation while the investor class does very well for itself is going WELL. Tell the whole story!! The real tragedy is that the GOP has a 38% (3/8) success rate yet only 30% of Americans see the truth-i-ness of it all. The librul media is once again concentrating on the "bad" while ignoring the "good".

The Big Lie-" The Democrats have no program on any issue, they have nothing to say that matters to anyone in the United States today". except for a few Drudge faithfuls. Sometimes its repeated because it is the truth. So the Democrats will win because the Rebubs are so rotton they are the lesser of 2 evils, thats just great. One group of thieves trying to steal the power back from the other group of thieves, no matter what letter is in front of thier name.I cant believe the amount of damage bush and his croonies have done in what ,5 years. Throw all the bums out and start over, with TERM LIMITS where they have to all face the ballot box every year.

9. Sales of "manufactured housing" (trailer homes) are way up, up, up!!! Going very WELL, thank you!! A 44% (4/9) success rate for the GOP while only 30% of Americans realize just how good we've got it.

Biden does have a good plan. He calls for dividing Iraq into three sections, for the Shiites, Sunnis and the Kurds, which will honor cultural, religious differences. The British government carved out the Iraq borders a long time ago, and this might need to be looked at. I think his plan can't be worse than what's going on now.

OBAMA, Dan You Beat Ne To It !!! Biden Has A Plan On Iraq And His Son Is In The Military: Biden's elder son, Joseph R. (Beau) Biden III, is a partner in the Wilmington law firm of Bifferato, Gentilotti, Biden & Balick. He announced in November 2005 that he would be a candidate for attorney general of Delaware in 2006. He is a captain in the Delaware Army National Guard -Sarge

This plan would be very difficult to execute. The article even explains why: "Analysts said splitting the nation along ethnic and sectarian lines would mean massive relocations of people and enormous upheaval in Iraq's major cities where all three groups reside. Anthony Cordesman, a counterterrorism specialist at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said a breakup would allow extremist groups with links to al Qaeda to increase their dominance over Sunni insurgents and push Iran to exploit the power vacuum left if the U.S. pulls out." This would almost certianly lead to civil war (or at the very least, even more violence), not to mention the cost that would be involved.

You cannot have 'programs' when you are the minority in every committee, every house, every situation. You have to attack. You have to convince the voters that we need to get rid of the evil, the corrupt, the sleaze. (Just as the Republicans did in 2000) (with a little help from the Supreme Court) It's not hard. People are now so sick of these assholes they will vote them out. People are not that smart but they are not that dumb either. They won't say "I made a mistake in 2004, or 2000" but they WILL say "these guys have fucked up BIG TIME, and I will NOT VOTE REPUBLICAN THIS TIME" Period. And those 5-10% make all the difference.

*YAWN*... yet another Zogby (self-proclaimed "very left Democrat") poll stating how bad the American people want a change. Sounds familiar: http:// www.newmediamusings.com/ Not suprising from a man that sometimes pays out of pocket for his own politically motivated polls. For example he polled shamelessly out of pocket for the Tom Delay's opponent. His brother was also an adviser to Al Gore. And you notice you never see the full poll or the actual wording used, that might give away how they get the answers they do. Polls can be useful tools, but don't get your knickers in a bunch over them: they aren't hard science and can't be taken as concrete truth. At worst they are very subjective.

"Biden does have a good plan. He calls for dividing Iraq into three sections, for the Shiites, Sunnis and the Kurds, which will honor cultural, religious differences." That is a horrible plan. Never mind the fact that it would leave one group with all the northern oil, one group with all the southern oil, and the group in the middle with none... that alone would be enough to shred the place to pieces. Talk about destabilizing the region. Then you would have the Turks decimating the Kurds and Iran coming in to clean the rest up and pretty much assimilate Iraq. Yeah... lets do Joe Biden's plan. *rolls his eyes*

I like the current plan of three ethnic militias coupled with death squads married to an ineffective central government and incompetent army much, much better. Those silly old polls. No one wants to change the status quo. We are happy as clams with it. And George Bush is a great, great man.

Personally I think Bush has been dropping the ball on a lot of things and will be happy to see a change in the next Presidential election. However I have yet to see anything to convince me that the Democrats have a better plan. A plan is not just saying "we will work to win the war in Iraq" or "we will help Iraq get on its feet". It is saying "we will do it and this is HOW." So far all they seem to do is tell you what they want to do and forget to tell us how they plan to do it. Most times they seem to forget to even tell us what they want to do and rely on "Republican's are evil, vote for us." The few times I have seen an actual plan emerge, it has been like this one: Ill thought out and frighteningly obvious that it is doomed to moronic failure.

"I like the current plan of three ethnic militias coupled with death squads..." Thank the Iraqi's for that one, not Bush. It is their government. They will also have to do much of the cleaning up in that regards too.

" However I have yet to see anything to convince me that the Democrats have a better plan." Whenever I see a this statement, which has been quite often here....I have to laugh. So, we should "stay the course" with the current leadership of republicans even though they have failed at every turn?? I've yet to see anything to convince me that another republican has a better plan!!

"Thank the Iraqis for that one...." Ye gods. Does it matter? Whatever happened to all the great things Bush said THIS country would get from the war? I hate to break it to you, but there haven't been any good options possible for Iraq for two years. There was a time when something could have changed by reinforcing the place, but Bush never even got as far as admitting there was that sort of problem.
Posted by Zed at 2006-06-04 10:25 AM | Reply | Flag: Flag: (Choose)FunnyNewsworthyOffensiveAbusive
"They have much cleaning up to do in that regard, also...." Which begs the question of where they will get the will and the power to do any such thing. I'll tell you what. Adopt the attitude that the Iraqis don't deserve the chance Bush gave them. Bush already has. This is the idea that will get him through all the lonely years of giving speeches after retirement for one million dollars a pop.

"The Democrats have no plan" according to Zogby. Like all of Washington, DC he should get out more. They do have a plan but even if they didn't it wouldn't matter because Bush's plans have been such unmitigated disasters. It would be like asking people if they wanted to take one more step knowing that they would fall into a hole full of shit if they did or whether they would prefer to turn left and walk in a new direction away from the hole. Zogby also said that Katrina has made people lose faith in the federal government when what people have lost faith in is the Bush administration defunding, corrupting, cronyizing and heckuvajobing the federal government.

Democrats' plans: Help the economy by raising taxes. Lower gas prices by raising taxes. Save Social Security by making millions of illegal aliens eligible for it. Save Iraq and the Middle East by pulling out. Let Iran develop nuclear weapons without interference or meddling. Discourage illegal immigration by rewarding all illegals with citizenship. Make America safer by discontinuing spying on Al Queda: it's unconstitutional to make terrorist operatives inconvenienced while making phone calls

Do the Dems have plans in the following areas: Cutting spending? No. Developing new sources of crude and nuclear energy? No. Revoking China's Most-Favored-Nation trading status? No. Revoking NAFTA? No. A different approach to dealing with terrorists? No. Funny. On all the issues you guys beat up on George Bush about, the liberals would do things exactly the same way. Let the Dems win the Congress (you won't, but go ahead and fantasize). You won't notice a damn bit of difference.

He said 70% of voters believe the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction, adding, "I have never seen a number like that since I've been polling." The problem here again is who are the people that were polled? Is it and even split Dem to Rep? Or is it an uneven split? If I poll the right people I can get any response I want. I think the demographics of those polled should be listed. I can take a (poll) and let it find that we should put 4oz. whiskey in 95% of a one month's old baby bottle. Totally off the wall, but it can be done. Polls are bullshit.

I'm so sick of this shit! All I hear from Republicans is how the "Dems have no plan"? What the fuck has YOUR PARTY been doing for the last 6 years? It's not the media's fault that's for sure. You are correct that polls are irrelevant but quit being so hiprocritical. When Bush had a 80% approval rating after 9/11 as taken by a "poll", I didn't hear you saying a damn thing about the irrelevance of polls. Now look at you. You jump at the opportunity to dismiss it only because it doesn't favor your beloved leader. You can't have it both ways. FACT CHECK: Republicans control BOTH houses and the presidency AND SCOTUS. With that much control over government, you still have the nerve to criticize the Democrats? Murtha, Kerry, Feingold, Schumer...etc. Realize that the Dems have very limited power in congress and ANY plan put forth gets shot down by the Republicans with the help of the "liberal" media. Get real!

The Republicans had a plan. It was to steal everything which wasn't nailed down, and to turn America into a Hypochristian fundalmentalist kleptocratic fascist police state. It's all about the "Shock and Awe". Those Good Republicans attacked America on 9/11, and they have just been destroying anything giving power to the people ever since.
