Hence Frist going on about the marriage amendment yesterday. Keep the sheeple in line by feeding them a crappola smorgesbord of abortion, gay marriage, prayer in schools, religious displays in public places, and they'll give the people who really run this country more tax breaks and opportunities for thuggery and thievery than they could've imagined before Bush & Co. were installed into positions of power.

Good, stay home and make some white babies!

That way when they lose their asses this November, than can still save face.

They can claim they didn't vote and is why they lost. Sort of like Pee Wee Herman, "I meant to do that."

Constitution Party 2008!

With a Lou Dobbs kicker.

Chris, cross over, see the light.

Fiscal cons might stay home, too.

Constitution Party?

"The Constitution Party gratefully acknowledges the blessing of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States. We hereby appeal to Him for mercy, aid, comfort, guidance and the protection of His Providence as we work to restore and preserve these United States."

Absurd

One could only hope!

"unless Congress does more to oppose same-sex marriage, obscenity and abortion."

The biggest obscenity in the past decade has been this Congress and it's utter contempt for the taxpayers, laws and decency and morality has been aborted by the Gopiggies.

I prefer the free ice cream and pony party.

Ruler of the Universe and of these United States.

These primitivos believe the US exists apart from the Universe?

LOL....In fact, ROTFLMAO

Laura Bush stated that although the marriage issue is important, it shouldn't be used as a campaign tool.

I'm impressed, Laura. Good for you.

And Bill

You have a point there to a certain extent.....

If we do not vote then we cannot say anything. That would be too much like the whining on the left since 2000.

It will be more like, be careful what you wish for America, you just might get it. That is the better analogy and if 2008 plays out the same then the country will be regretting it in less than six months.

Yes, while Dr. Long Distance Diagnosis Frist states that marriage is "under attack."

I thought the Constitution was about the seperation of the Church and State not the merging of the two.

Just another lie designed to deceive no one motivated enough to look beyond the name "Constituton Party" into what the it actually stands for.

Talk about not seeing the forest. Divorce rates are in excess of 50 percent, adultry is at an all-time high (among "conservatives," too), yet a few thousand gay people wanting to get married is the end of times.

Yes, while Dr. Long Distance Diagnosis Frist states that marriage is "under attack."

Yes, by shifting the tax burden onto the middle class and promoting policies that result in the outsourcing of good paying jobs to China marriage is under attach by this Congress.

"If we do not vote then we cannot say anything. That would be too much like the whining on the left since 2000."

the left does vote.

Attach = attack.

Damn fingers.

"Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the Universe and of these United States"

BWAHAHAHAHAAHaaaaaa

What a load of shit.

Frist is just fabulous every time he opens his mouth

"A lot of people are disappointed that he hasn't put as much effort into the marriage amendment as he did for the prescription drug benefit or Social Security reform," Dr. Land said.

And those people are being laughed at.

If you think attacking monogamous gays is more important than helping the elderly, kindly remove your head from your ass.

It appears like the right is just as paranoid as the left on certain issues.

IMHO I think the right is a bit paranoid of the gay marriage issue - of course, they fear it because of where they think it will lead. The next step will be adoption, health benefits etc.... and that causes great concern for most Americans. I think in 2004 - the gay marriage amendment was passed in every state it was on the ballot - if I'm wrong then let me know.

I am a life-long Catholic and gay marriage will never be accepted inside the Church but neither will many other things in our society. The Church will deal with this if it becomes legal just like it deals with everything.

Yeah like earth being the center of the universe and not condemning Nazi atrocities.

If you think attacking monogamous gays is more important than helping the elderly, kindly remove your head from your ass.

Bushole's idea of helping the elderly is more akin to helping himself and his cronies to the funds in the US Treasury and saying they are helping the elderly.

They spend $ like a drunken sailor!! Why should I vote for any of them? They say they have cut spending but they only cut the huge growth of spending. Which party will realy cut spending?? I say vote against all incumbents. Every damn one of them.

Eberly,

Gay marriage or civil unions is not about making the Church accept them. It is to ensure equal legal treatment based on sexual orientation in areas such as property rights, etc.

I have yet to see any evidence presented by anyone how gay marriage will destroy heterosexual marriage other than people saying it will.

I say vote against all incumbents. Every damn one of them.

That is my mantra, but sadly 95% of these bastards will get re elected. Basically they have to be convicted of a crime before their constituents will stop voting for them.

"This year, some participants are complaining that as soon as Mr. Bush was re-elected he stopped expressing his support for a constitutional amendment banning such unions."

Oh don't take it so personally, those of you on the far right. It's not just your issues. Bush stopped expressing support for a lot of things after re-election.
Namely the entire Constitution in general.

Why would Bush support amending that god damned piece of paper anyway? He's too busy trashing the 4th and 5th amendments to worry about adding new ones.

I'm pretty sure that Chris, like most thinking individuals, is not interested in a political party supported by people who say on their Web site "Visualize a Negro-free Zone" and feature a blog on Aryan Futurism.

Hans

"Constitution Party 2008!"

That would be a big mistake, Niceville. At that point it would only take the GOP maybe 2 election cycles to purge themselves completely of the religious fringe and then... well you you might be able to get a sideshow tent at the state caucuses, but religious influence would be limited.

I pray all the time that this will in fact happen.

What a bunch of crybabies.

ayn,

I agree with you on this. Hope they move in this direction because the republican party might move to a more civil party.

Niceville just doesn't understand that the majority of the Christians in this nation are in support of separation of church and state.

Fiscal cons might stay home, too.

Pandas can vote?

Do you mean that they won't be manipulated into a herd of thoughtless sheep believing that the LORD has told them who should be President?

Yeah, right! I'll believe THAT when I see it. Would be a good step forward, but I don't see it happening.

Hey Yawns, when you locate that on their website, give me the link. I am sure you and your Aryan brotherhood will be all for it.

We'll be waiting on the link.

And if it a post like some you see here that you are trying to use, then never mind.

I could call this a Christian site if I wanted to based on posts in it.

Nice try on the deflection.

Doubt that the CP is going to gain any major ground even though millions support their views since we all know how Perot handed Clinton the gig.

"Niceville just doesn't understand that the majority of the Christians in this nation are in support of separation of church and state."

And I suppose you have the facts to back that one up?

What a liar you are. And BTW, NOWEHRE does it say that, another figment of the liberal use of the imagination on the left.

And they don't believe in God.

Go figure.

James Dobson is an expert at detecting the way people feel, and then going public -- so it looks like he's a leader when he's mostly an opportunist. Bill Clinton had this talent also.

All Dobson has done is tap into the irritation of Conservatives at the Republican leadership. This is the same pattern that emerged in 1992. Gave rise to Ross Perot and defeated Bush I.

Bush II may be heading toward lame duck.

"The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries."

Good luck Thumpers.

They claim to be for small governemnt but want gay men arrested for having sex.

How hypocrytical could you possibly be? Oh, that is right, it is a party founded by Christian Texans.......never mind.

Yeah, vote for them Nicey. Please.

They claim to be for small governemnt but want gay men arrested for having sex.

They probably yearn for the old days, circa 1930-1950, when we were subject to involuntary lobotomization.

It was always so entertaining watching the kid who didn't get their way stomping off with the "Im going home" tirades.

The same holds true today!

AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Run on home fake Christians! Run on home and tell mommy!

"They probably yearn for the old days, circa 1930-1950, when we were subject to involuntary lobotomization."

Considering that they take great pleasure in their belief that Jebus will condemn you to an eternity of torture, I think you're painting them a little bit liberal.

Basically, these people are religous in the superficial way a small child is religious. They believe what they are told without any thought as to the deeper message behind it. And like small children, they have a cruel streak.

You won't have to read very far to see why fringe dwellers like Spamville cotton to it.

I agree with Niceville! Constitution Party '06 and '08 and....50 percent of republicans should seriously considering joining their ranks.

a political party supported by people who say on their Web site "Visualize a Negro-free Zone" and feature a blog on Aryan Futurism.

"We'll be waiting on the link."

Apparently,
crayon boy ("... And they will still draw on paper tablecloths with crayons at 15 or older.") is still having difficulty with reading comprehension:

Web site of those who support the US Constitution party and who say on that Web site "Visualize a Negro-free Zone" while also featuring a blog Aryan Futurism."

No wonder nicEVILle likes the US Constitution party. He's in good company with other supporters like New Nation News.

Hans

Does this mean folks like Pat Robertson no longer believe Bush was ordained by God to be president?

I am a life-long Catholic and gay marriage will never be accepted inside the Church but neither will many other things in our society. The Church will deal with this if it becomes legal just like it deals with everything.

Posted by eberly at 2006-05-15 12:09 PM

Exactly Eberly, that's why I don't understand why it is such a big deal to some Xtians. They aren't going to "have to" marry these people; it really doesn't affect them in the slightest.

that's why I don't understand why it is such a big deal to some Xtians.

It's a big deal to them because they believe sanctioning homosexual relationships will contribute to the moral decay of society and cause God to turn his wrath on the US.

That's true, I remember the one hurricane that "looked like a fetus" and that 9/11 was because of the queers, as well as hurricane Katrina. Oddly enough, hurricane Katrina didn't effect the area on NO that was going to have some gay activities, but oddly enough struck at Baptist areas.

Hmmmm

God works in mysterious ways, Big John.

(Meaning natural events may be used to validate my opinions but not used against.)

A whole lot of speculation as to the midterm elections. But I guess if editors have a lot of newsprint to sell and journalists to pay . . .

In 2002 and in 2004 things looked bad for the Republicans too. I'll be the first to agree that having the Republicans in Congress hasn't been anything close to what I had hoped, namely the shrinking of the government and spending, instead of the reprehensible converse. Also would have liked some sort of privatization of Social Security, even if just a token move in that direction.

But a lot can happen--a plunge in oil prices (a few more days like today, for example--we're down 4% on crude futures), a continuation of recent stock market rallies, good news in Iraq--and suddenly the Dems' lack of a program will haunt them. Just because many Christian conservatives might or might not stay home in November doesn't mean in any sense of the word that they'll be showing up to vote for Democrats. If the Dems win, the votes will have to come from somewhere.

Today the US decided that Venezuela is bad and we won't sell them arms...and they are one step down from a terrorist supporting nation....

Expect Iran and Venezuela to zing us good...China is already buying Irans OIL and they will buy Venezuela's as well

YEAH AND ALLOW THE PEOPLE THEY LIKE LEAST
TAKE OVER GOVT
JASMAN

Let's see....our Christian leaders are failing miserably to reach the masses.

So...they want to see laws passed forcing people to ACT like Christians.

That's good enough for them.

Typical.

That's the mistake republicans make mixing religion and politics. If you use politics to force people to ACT like Christians, somehow that's as good as the real thing.

Why not? That's all most of them are.

People acting like Christians.

It's a big deal to them because they believe sanctioning homosexual relationships will contribute to the moral decay of society and cause God to turn his wrath on the US.

Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2006-05-15 01:48 PM | Reply

Gal, IMO, the statement ends: cause God to turn his wrath on the Christian.

From my perspective, a Christian fears God (or should if they truly believe). With this in mind, they know their choices in life will be viewed on Judgment Day. If a Christian makes choices which they believe God would disapprove, then their choice is deliberately made against God's teachings.

I don't fear what God will do with America. I do fear what America will do to my children.

Ok, what will America do to your children if we go down this road?

"From my perspective, a Christian fears God (or should if they truly believe). With this in mind, they know their choices in life will be viewed on Judgment Day. If a Christian makes choices which they believe God would disapprove, then their choice is deliberately made against God's teachings. "

When I was in Catholic school, we had teachers who were nuns and just plain teachers.

The nuns would tell us: "One mortal sin on your soul when you die and its straight to hell!". The teachers would say "Because God's mercy is limitless, you'll only go to hell if you completely turn your back on God."(Or something to that effect)

I'm seeing that you favor the opinion of the ladies in uniform.

"like New Nation News."

Wow! So Hans, you are saying that Pale0 and Gnostic Gnubsy have joined to form the White Constitution Party?

Black Jesus is gonna be pissed about this!

Don't Democrats do the same thing?

Don't they basically try to make people feel guilty (and do what they otherwise would not do) about the circumstances of the less fortunate, the homeless, the weak, the uninsured, the sick, etc.

Why should I care? Because Jesus said so?

Why shouldn't I let them all die and purify the gene pool like a good Darwinist would?

RightIs - didn't Kerry get the most votes in our nation's hisory in 2004 (except, supposedly, Bush)?

If so, I think I know where the votes will be comin from. Do you know one single person who voted for Kerry who now plans to vote for the GOP candidate? Neither do I.

I sincerely hope that there is some truth to this story...a lot of truth...

RightIs - didn't Kerry get the most votes in our nation's hisory in 2004 (except, supposedly, Bush)?

* * * *

LOL. I love the "supposedly".

Yes, he did, and lost. Except this isn't a national election, Kerry isn't running, and neither is Bush.

Don't worry. Some demographer/politician will whip up a furor over what other people are doing in their bedrooms or how families are making their own medical decisions, and the rabid religious cons will flock to the polls. (These are important things for conservatives these days - big government nosing around in other people's lives)

Empty threats. They stay home, Democrats take the House and Senate. That will really advance their agenda.

I wish they would but they'll come to their senses, hold their noses and vote straight Republican. They have a two and a half year window to get more God into government. After that they will have to wait for another Bush. They may wait a long time.

News Flash,

Democrats to also stay home!!!

.....Diebold machines reduce the need to go to the polls.

California Chris was heard to say, we cant win with diebold so why even go?

"Influential Christians say they are dissatisfied and may withhold their support in the midterm elections."

Maybe Jebus will do some "Rock the Vote" spots.

Yes, he did, and lost. Except this isn't a national election, Kerry isn't running, and neither is Bush.

You didn't here RIR?

The Dems are running a generic. Much better chance that way.

I say we run a national brand or regional brand vs. the generic.

I say vote against all incumbents. Every damn one of them.

Except when I went to the poll today to vote in the primary, most of the canidates (Dem or Repub) had no opponent. "Welcome to the Police State"(tm), where you vote for who we tell you to!!

Bush II may be heading toward lame duck.

Understatement of the decade.

He has been quacking for over a year now. Ever since his Man-Date fizzled.

Please Do !!

It is imperative that "Congress enact anti-gay marriage amendment BEFORE the hurricane season begins. God's wrath will be unmerciful to us if we don't get our nation on good terms with Him.
Repent America Repent!!!
Death penalty for women who get abortions.
Round up the gays and make a huge human sacrifice in an attempt to buy favor and have a hurricane-less year.

Kerry will vote for it and then well you know.

Actually Sully, I agree with both with the latter saving you from the first. Repentence and sin no more.

"Christian Cons Threaten to Stay Home in November"

...the real trick would be getting them to stay home the other 11 months as well.

...where's the damn rapture when you need it.

"News Flash"

Jebus returned to the earth today in a blinding flash of white light over Washington D.C. At a press conference he stated that he was glad to be back in the flesh, was looking forward to a nice meal, and indicated that he intended to run for political office. The Republican Party asserted that he is an illegal alien with no right to run for public office in the United States. This came after Jebus announced that he would be running as an independent. Presidential press secretary Tony Snow stated in an emergency conference that any statement made previously by President George Dubai Bush that he was doing G-d's work was merely figurative, not actually sanctioned by the lord himself. The dramatic return was following by several hundred thousand new entries on the auction website eBay.com for televisions that had caught the live broadcast of the lord's return.

More to follow.
