You need to read up on the "felony murder" doctrine. If you commit a felony that is in any way connected with a murder, you can also be charged for the murder itself. Conspiracy is a felony. He conspired to commit murder. While he did not directly commit the murders, he may still be charged and convicted of them.

A similar example is if you and a friend commit felony burglary. Your friend winds up killing a security guard in the process. You may also be held liable for the murder under this doctrine.

Moussaoui is dead either way. I'm more curious why the cockpit voice recorder record is still sealed. Surely there's nothing tactical on it. It's been five years and I doubt that another attack like it is going to be tried again in the near future.

Any theories?

As far as I'm concerned, such listening does nothing to enhance perspective. The question is if he should get the death penalty. Being a martyr and his mentalo condition should be taken into perspective. I would like to hear his families explainations of his conduct. If they support him. Give him life. If they want to see him live, give him the death.

This all sucks. The only conviction the Government is getting with our $ Billions and loss of liberty is Zacarias Moussaoui -- and he is jumping around like a baboon admitting to killing Elvis.

He knows he is going to be found guilty. He is just playing them, and us. This trial will offer nothing of value.

What is concerning is that there is a suspicion that he is wearing a shock belt. Did they torture him to confess? He doesn't seem afraid of death -- so what else could explain his change in behavior.

I agree that the building 7 puzzles me. I am skeptical, like many, for the same reasons when it comes to conspiracy theories. But, building 7 was on fire and came down which has never happened. The guy did say 'pull' and the building came down.

I think what matters to me is the study for building 7 has not been presented yet and has been delayed in being issued. We are now 3 1/2 years after the fact of the event, already had hearings on 9/11, yet this report isn't complete yet?

Sully, I don't think anyone is defending Moussaoui. He should be tried by an impartial court (good luck on that one) in an open manner. Isn't that the foundation of the American Justice system? If he is found guilty he will be punished.

But there are a lot of questions that are unanswered. Firstly, why all the secrecy over the 911 tapes and cockpit recordings? I don't buy the argument that it's to protect the families. If that were the case then the video of the collapse of the buildings wouldn't be shown every chance the networks get.

Secondly, why has there never been any progress on the anthrax attacks?

Generico - The questions you raise are good ones. But I don't see how they are related to Moussaoui getting a fair trial. Anthrax has nothing to do with his case. And why the recordings were not released previously is a good question. But as long as his defense is able to listen to the recordings prior to them being played in court, I don't see how its unfair to play them. The tapes are evidence of the conspiracy he's being charged over.

As for bombing the Bin Laden's - my theory is that the turd doesn't fall far from the asshole so his family isn't as detached from his crimes as they claim. But I'll admit I have no proof on that and so its more an emotional arguement.

So, let's say you help your friend plan out the robber, then get arrested for driving without a license or whatever. While you are in prison, your friend does the robbery and kills said security guard.

So, are you still claiming you would be prosecuted for murder? Since, you know, you were in police custody at the time any of it happened?

First, I do not contend the 'tapes are faked', or that the hijackings did not occur. I do knot know all of the circumstances that lead to the 9/11 attacks (neither do you). The government has been less than truthful, and the 9/11 Commission Report is complete fiction.

-explain why fire fighters on the scene reported the fires were under control
-explain how a fire, producing huge amounts of black smothering smoke, and fueled by office supplies, reached the required temperature of 1800 degrees
-explain how Atta's passport(the basis of the FBI investigation) was found unharmed in the wreckage of the WTC
-explain how three buildings fall at complete free-fall speed when the official explanation says the damaged floors started a "domino effect" that "trickled" down

1.no videos were faked, they are in part evidence of a conspiracy
2.Planes were clearly used. Neither I, nor any "theory" I have seen contend otherwise
3.the same as we were; they were told what to think....and done it
4.once again, not a point i care to dispute
5.the placement of the hit is of no consequence when charges are set in advance on all load-bearing foundations
6.there are many....many engineers who do not believe the 'science of the 9/11 report...In fact Minoru Yamasaki designed WTC to hold up in the event a fully loaded 707 crashed into it
