Makes sense to change the name. Texas is a very mixed region culturally and linguistically.

This hasn't surprised me one bit. We had to give up San Jacinto Day, April 21... (which is the day that Texas won her independence); to make room for Cinco De Mayo.

Now we have to give up this name. I wasn't thrilled, but then again we are talking about Syliva Garcia, who has forgotten which city she lives in.

My (4)Great Uncle died at the Alamo, my (4) Great Grandfather; his nephew was at the Battle of San Jacinto with Sam Houston. My heritage is as important as anyone else's, but because I am American... my heritage is the ONE that gets put on the back burner and wants to be forgotten by a County Commisoner!!!

the very idea that "thousands" of people in in the houston area even care about soccer is nuts. a couple of years and this team will be broke and changing its name again anyway. how many times has this league gone bankrupt? soccer is a game our kids play when they are little and then move on to a real sport.
