What a moron. If that fool was right, the French Quarter wouldn't have done so well. Fortunately, he's full of shit. Unfortunately, people who are full of shit get elected a lot in America, land of the imbecile.

Who voted for this loon? I think he's nuts. Someone needs to institutionalize him, not vote for him.

I love how he includes the Mississippi Gulf Coast in his condemnation. Did Trent Lott know it was the coastline of the Devil when he built there?

If gambling, drinking, sex, and loose music are abominations to God one can only imagine how wroth She must be about definement of the Garden. How could she be happy about poisoned air and water, filled in wetlands and the stench of garbage. Maybe the hurricanes are Her first attempts to flush...

"Who voted for this loon?" Alabama republicans.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree. Anything to get Trent Lott out of the Gulf works for me. A little sloppy for God with all the collateral damage and all, but what the heck. Gift horse.

What a moron. I like how he generalizes the Bourbon Street lifestyle to the entire Gulf Coast, as if that's all that people do around there. The fact that someone this stupid could be an elected official is a sad reflection on our country.

This moron and his ilk are exactly what's wrong with American and why we can never get anything done. It's all the fault of mythical figures and boogeymen.

West Virginia is next for destruction... Did you hear about the new 3 million dollar West Virginia State Lottery? The winner gets 3 dollars a year for a million years.

When I hear things like this, I just have to wonder why these people think that God hates the South so very much. He must love Las Vegas, but just hates the South. It is probably the humidity.

It is god's wrath. that's why he keeps hitting floriduh and the other red states. Why does god hate red staters?

You have gotta love it when these guys show their true colors... now its all about the true colors of his constituency in alabama... don't hold your breath ... he will probably win in a landslide.

Howard Dean "I want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags on their pickup trucks," Isn't this guy head of the DNC? This statement really has nothing to do with God taking out the gulf...it just goes to show that even democrats are idiots sometimes. If Erwin doesnt run for re-election, I'm sure Dean could get elected...by the constituency in Alabama.

Howard Dean "I want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags on their pickup trucks," Yeah, that certainly seemed in context. How do you become this weird?

Tom DeLay used to a pest control man. He went into politics because he hated the EPA because they would not let him use more powerful, and dangerous, poisons. What-a-guy.
God would let me spray with whatever I want. And charge whatever I want for it.

Tom is the Orkin Man? Who new? And of course God loves Vegas, Vegas is honest; Same reason God spared the French Quarter. Besides, the food's GREAT! Too bad about Trent Lott's house; Seems God is shooting spot-on.

The fact that someone this stupid could be an elected official is a sad reflection on our country. Posted by joe at 2005-09-29 05:43 PM | Reply Couldn't agree more. I used to think that Alabama was only good for making Mississippi look good, but now I have to rethink that idea. And you know that the bible thumpers in Alabama will send this stooge back for another term. God told them to.

"If that fool was right, the French Quarter wouldn't have done so well." the french quarter has been out of commission, chief. i don't care if it's destroyed or not. nobody's there. hence nobody is sinning there. i'm not saying i agree that it was 'god's wrath'...i just don't know. we HAVE had storms and flooding of 'biblical' proportions while a 10,000 acre wildfire is scorching land in califonia. Regardless of what you say that DOES sound alot like how the bible predicts the beginning of the end.

" french quarter has been out of commission, chief." Mr. Brennan never left Brennan's. It's a fact.

that's fine. how many people have been partying down there? how much $$ has the french quarter lost?

that's fine. how many people have been partying down there? how much $$ has the french quarter lost? I think the point was that the least impacted area was the French Quarter. Can you comprehend that? If God was destroying the areas he disagreed with, he has really bad aim, or perhaps he had nothing to do with it.

Mardi Gras is still on for next year, folks. That talk radio jerk is a walking billboard for more education spending.

This guy needs to re-read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. God ONLY destroyed those cities when he could not find ten good people. Lot Started with 50 and got down to 10. God would not destroy the cites if there only 10 righteous men. However once he did destroy them they were GONE. If this had been God's wrath there would not have been anything left. Point is God rarely does this. We live in a world where we have to deal with conseqences of our own disobediance. Just ask Tom Delay, what's happening to him is his own greed, not Gods wrath. Katrina was fueled by the unaturally warm waters of the gulf, again we people get bit for dumping crap into the atmosphere like it's a giant toliet, but it's by our own hand, not God's. BTW the republican seem to be big on this sin thing and seems to me they are no better about it than the democrats. They (GOP) lie, cheat, whore out thier postions of influence to get money from the rich corporations, commit fraud. None of this Jesus would condone, yet the supposed Evangelicals sit at the GOP's feet like a pack of lap dogs because the GOP throws a few crumbs thier way. They dare not speak out against thier NeoCon masters. When someone challenges them about it, they go hide thier facade of empty religion the same way the Pharsee's of old did. One of these days God's wrath may indeed pour out on some folks, but I believe when it happens the people on recieving end are going to be quite astonished.

Okay, To quote my favorite detective, "Here's the thing," Those who have read the Bible, whether they believe it is one hundred percent fact or partially allegory, remember the end of the story of Noah and the Flood. A rainbow served as God's covenant that there would be no storms like that ever again. Secondly, the coming of Jesus signalled the end of the just and wrathful God and the beginning of the merciful God. Any religious scholar worth his beans will tell you that. Just more ramblings of the son of a minister, Unbiased_Voter

"Mardi Gras is still on for next year, folks." Rogers should book a block of rooms for us. I'd like a chance to drink Walt under the table.

I wonder why his buddy Pat Robertson didn't simply pray the hurricane away. Oh, maybe that's just the ones targeting Virginia Beach. I get it, Pat -- some people count...

how much $$ has the french quarter lost? About the same as those naval shipbuilding yards in Mississippi. Does God hate our military too?
