Sweet, at least Mr. Soros is getting something for his investment.

Take the highroad boys

Look...I don't put faith into polls, but you can't deny his public standing is falling. You don't need polls to see that.

Welcome to reality.

Mayhaps if the media didn't point out ONLY the bad and NONE of the good.....

Yeppers and He did it to himself. He sold His soul to the Devil and now is Paying the Price for it. I just hope when all is said and done He rots in Hell that is what I feel and think.

Larry

You aint' seen nothing yet.

Wait until people learn that despite what the Army Corp of engineers told Bush was needed to do repairs on the Lake Pontchartrain levee, which is currently broken and pouring water into New Orleans, he decided to cut 20% out of it for Iraq, Homeland Security and his tax cuts. Now here we are ... the catastrophe he was warned could happen .... happened. Sound familiar ?

www.mediainfo.com

yep four week vacation in the middle of a war really gets the American people behind him.

BTW if Katrina is a national crises requiring him shorten his vaction. ha, shorten.

How come Iraq isnt a crises requiring him to shorten his vacation?

So... Soros is to blame for the failing Iraq policy?

Every poll in the last few months has had Bush under 50. Even Rasmussen, a conservative polling group, has had him under 50 for quite some time.

Keep playing the blame game.

and I guess it's only right -wingers speculating oil prices on Wall Street, thereby driving prices out the roof....

Where reality comes to die you mean.

My understanding, and please feel free to correct me on this (like you need an invitation!) is that this is consistently the one poll that rates the president highest of all the polls.

YAV

Yav,

If you say it then I'll take it as a fact.

Yeppers and He did it to himself. He sold His soul to the Devil and now is Paying the Price for it. I just hope when all is said and done He rots in Hell that is what I feel and think.

It's funny how some folks who act as if they don't believe in God,can so readily believe in the Devil....

Zu, thanks for the vote of confidence! Yeah I know you are poking fun at me. ;-)

YAV

It's Clinton's Fault !!

Actually this hurricane is the best thing to happen to Bush. With Iraq a mess, gas prices skyrocketing, and people focusing on the whole Cindy Sheehan circus, he can once again appear to American citizens like he did after 9-11, as the sympathetic and benign caregiver. He'll get up there and look sad, with his forehead furrows arched skyward, a mock compassionate, forlorn look upon his face, and vow to "save New Orleans"

I paid $3/gal for reg gasoline today, a new personal high. It was $1.50/gal here as recently as Nov04.

My real wages are going backwards while my taxes are headed in the opposite direction.

Inflation is on the horizon and interest rates will rise to meet it.

I'm still wondering (but not much) what Operation Iraqi Freedom is really all about and whatever happened to the 9-11 mastermind Osama.

Corporate profits are at 60 year highs while corporate taxes are at sixty year lows.

But then, the Bush crowd has kept all safe from gay marriage. They're working to put Creationism back in Science class where it'll do us all so much good. They've put Cindy Sheehan in her place.

What's not to like about Bush?

Speaking of God and all that kind of stuff, I just heard something interesting on the history channel (not to be confused with gore tv folks).

The first message sent by telegraph was

What hath God Wrought (24 May 1844)

This first message was sent to the United States Supreme Court building in W.D.C.

I sure hope the ACLU doesn't file a lawsuit over this.

The sound of an Amish drive by shooting:

Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang Clop clop bang bang

The sound of a lame duck war president.

Yav,

I am not poking anything at you. A voice of reason in the wilderness as far as I'm concerned. Damn, everything I write sounds sarcastic.

"Real" War Presidents don't take month long vacations.

Zu, then thank you very much! I know I read your posts more diligently now that we have communicated more. I appreciate you expressing your views.

I just have learned to 'duck' a lot more since I started posting :)

YAV

Visitor 9:21,

Just listen to FOX NEws, then everything will get better.

You forgot the sound of a Clinton presidency.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

consider the source... idiots....

Why is it that when ever the Bushies don't like a poll the source is not credible?

Please provide an alternative poll that states otherwise.

You forgot the sound of a Clinton presidency.

Someone hand the little fellow a Kleenex. I would imagine that he has an awful mess on his hands, literally.

Yav,

I wish I'd known you were going to read my post before that last sorry attempt at humor.

I will cease and desist such partisan attacks (at least for this evening)

Zu!! Actually I laughed out loud when I read your post!!

Now, from a male perspective, I will admit the sounds of the Clinton presidency sound like a LOT more fun! ::blush:: (naw, I never blush!)

YAV

Gee wonder why?... Look at the energy policy, great job!...Well done on the war... where is the national guard to help people down south?.......You who twist the truth cant fool us anymore. The only thing he can do good is lie with a smile.

"I will admit the sounds of the Clinton presidency sound like a LOT more fun!"

Again, you are right. What fool wouldn't agree? That's why I tell people to shut the heck up and listen to Yav.

Expect Bush's polls to fall yet again.

The people of Louisianna are begging for troops, food, water, or indeed any concrete display of interest on the part of their government.

One hears that food distribution was delayed in Mississippi because of a bureacratic "log-jam".

Yeah. tell me there was nothing Bush could do.

The New Orleans Times Picayune had run stories a year ago about the Army Corp of Engineers literally begging for money from the Feds to upgrade the levees that the water is now pouring through into New Orleans. They said it would never withstand a category 5 hurricane. Oh well ...

This will all come out and you can bet Bush will spend most of his time covering up yet another screw up ...

Hey Zed,

You don't expect him to go down there, put his boots on the ground. After all he flew over, made some promises to rebuild the city etc., and that alone was work enough. Hard work if you really think about it.

Of course he wouldn't be getting a warm welcome after cutting funding for rebuilding the levees, but we all understand why Saddam had to go.

If only the Iraqis would understand why we want them to privatize their oil we wouldn't have a shortage. Maybe now they will get with the program.

Apparently the Sun herald in Biloxi wants to know why the military hasn't been mobilized to help.

"reporters listening to horrific stories of death and survival at the Biloxi Junior High School shelter looked north across Irish Hill Road and saw Air Force personnel playing basketball and performing calisthenics."

www.sunherald.com

This is something Bush could address--or is someone else now Commander in Chief.

you know, i'd re-join the national guard if they would promise me that i'd stay stateside and actually guard/help the state.

crazy idea isn't it? have trained folks at home ready to help out AT HOME.

OzarkAggie,

The link you supplied doesn't mention "horrific stories of death and survival at the Biloxi Junior High School shelter looked north across Irish Hill Road and saw Air Force personnel playing basketball and performing calisthenics"

it does mention:

"
The American Red Cross has 250 trucks loaded with water and supplies coming from all over the country to Mississippi and Alabama, and 1,700 people to hand them out, said Oscar Barnes, the agency's director for the Gulf Coast.

Ninety-five mobile Salvation Army cantinas are also headed to the disaster zone. They're capable of serving 400,000 meals a day, but even that may not be enough.

Thousands of people lined up for water or food wherever relief agencies or the National Guard stopped, including several thousand at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Gulfport.

Four Federal Emergency Management Agency trucks distributed 44,000 pounds of water and 2,200 prepared meals at the mall. Guardsmen handed out a case of water and box of meals to each family more to those with special needs.

Kiwasha Shears, who is six months pregnant and has three kids at home, waited in line for two hours. She got three cases of water, each with 24 bottles
."

It sounds like supplies are getting to the people.

Where is your story?

Take the highroad

What? There's a cat5 hurricane headed for a major US city? (crap, I hope I don't have to cut my vacation short)

Whaddaya mean, I should probably go back to DC and show some leadership in preparing for this disaster? (no freakin' way, I have an 8:30 tee time tomorrow)

... the next day ...

Well, maybe it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. Heh heh. What? Its the worst disaster in the US in at least a century? (I hope this won't mean I don't get to give my big speech on VJ Day- whatever that is)

Ok, it was pretty bad. I'll "rush" back to DC, cutting my vacation "short" to look like I'm in charge of sumthin. Maybe we can send a few helicopters and a boat down there. (this outta take some of the pressure off Turdblossom, and help my poll numbers, heh heh)

You have got to be kidding, the Corps of Engineers and Senator Landreau have been hounding me for years to fund the construction on the levees. (D'oh, Dick told me that report wasn't THAT important and he didn't have to read it to me)

Ok, I can handle this, I'll make a speech with my whole cabinet there (don't smirk, don't smirk, don't smirk)

I did OK, didn't I Karl?

Buddy I'm always on the high road in these hills. But I also use ClipMate and picked the wrong clipboard.

Somehow that post didn't work.

Say all you want you libbies...
I am sure the Kerry admin would be doing a lot better...you know a speech revealing how Kerry "understands your pain" Just wait and see how this all turn out. W to the rescue...approval ratings above 60 in a month!!! Remember you heard it here first.
Another thing to remember, this is a lib log, I don't know how much longer I will be able to post here due to the fact I see reality clearly
jpd

Katrina is Bush's Perfect Storm.

Gas is $3.00 tonight here in coastal NC, up from $2.60 this morning. Governor Easley said today the pipelines to NC are empty.

When it hits $4.00 next week, Bush will have lost everyone but the rich who can pay $120 to fill up their Hummers.

I figure that's way less than 5% in this red state.

Dead soldiers are acceptable here, but $4.00 gas is not.

JPD:

lol..I absolutely love when you guys bring up a hypothetical and use it as some sort of defence for Bush. Cracks me up each and every time!!! Can't you find one good point on Bush's own merit to use to defend him??? lol!!

Dream on JPD. Back over 50% for a couple of weeks until its gets around that he denied funding for work on the levies so he could fund his tax cut, and his war debacle.

And $3.00+ gas will take the wind out real quick. Kiss this presidency buh bye.

INWI
I really think the feds are going to do a good job with this disaster...
I am sure that it will not be a credit to George though, will it??
jpd

JPD-
Just wait and see how this all turn out. W to the rescue...approval ratings above 60 in a month!!! Remember you heard it here first.

Will he stand on a broken levee and make a speech?

JPD-
This one has "legs", as the creeps say, and it doesn't look like a "great leader" moment.

Dream on JPD. Back over 50% for a couple of weeks until its gets around that he denied funding for work on the levies so he could fund his tax cut, and his war debacle.

And $3.00+ gas will take the wind out real quick. Kiss this presidency buh bye.

Question
Why is it the federal governments job to fix these levees??? Don't you think the state should take care of this???
Aren't they making enough money from the real estate taxes??
Is it allways the federal government's place to take care of every problem??? EVERY TIME??? Be real
jpd

Gee, I dunno, why is it their job to fix highways, bridges, dams and other infrastructure all around the country?

But a bronze medal for the attempted deflection. Now eat your peanut butter and jelly sammich and head off to bed lil cowboy.

The Corps of Engineers control dams and lakes on and along the Mississippi, though I don't know the history on this lake. Often the lakes are allowed to fill when the river floods, and then they dispense the water to maintain navigation.

At some point they took it over, as well as the levees. Property taxes were raised to keep some of the work going.

JPD:

Look..I'm not a Bush fan. My point was that you guys love to bring Kerry up everytime you have no defense for Bush.

If Bush is behind the good work going on there, great! I'ld more than welcome the chance to say something good about him. Really, I would.

Governor Easley said today the pipelines to NC are empty.

Can anyone say gas lines? Bankrupt airlines? Senior citizens freezing to death in their homes? (Pray we don't have a long cold winter.)

OzarkAggie,

Now I see it. Thanks. I should certainly say that playing basketball and doing jumping jacks should take a far second to helping people get through this nightmare.

It looks as though things are getting straitened out some.

I wish those folks the best.

Take the highroad, especially in flooded areas of the south.

This is a national crisis, JPD.

INWI
I agree with you - gasp!
It just seems that the judgement here is already given before any action has taken place. Let's not jump to conclusions.

Boyd
You are missing my point...
BEFORE the hurricane, the state not the feds should have been taking care of this problem. my opinion
jpd

JPD-
Ah...a man after your own heart in the Red Cross thread:

What a waste of money. Giving it to red staters is like flushing money down the toilet.

Seriously, aren't these the cretins who advocate personal responsibility? So let them be responsible for their own karmic shit.

Lol, don't interfere in god's punishment!

But don't worry about that too much. Your image in the mirror is the reverse of your actual appearance.

JPD-
You wrote-
"You are missing my point...

No. I did not "miss" your point. The Bush admin. cut the funding and we now have a national crisis greater that we would have if they hadn't.

Well, those liberals in New Hampshire are after Bush again.

"A better leader would have flown straight to the disaster zone and announced the immediate mobilization of every available resource..."

www.theunionleader.com

Commies under every blanket. LOL

JPD-
Yet after 2003, the flow of federal dollars toward SELA dropped to a trickle. The Corps never tried to hide the fact that the spending pressures of the war in Iraq, as well as homeland security -- coming at the same time as federal tax cuts -- was the reason for the strain. At least nine articles in the Times-Picayune from 2004 and 2005 specifically cite the cost of Iraq as a reason for the lack of hurricane- and flood-control dollars.

Newhouse News Service, in an article posted late Tuesday night at The Times-Picayune Web site, reported: "No one can say they didn't see it coming. ... Now in the wake of one of the worst storms ever, serious questions are being asked about the lack of preparation."

In early 2004, as the cost of the conflict in Iraq soared, President Bush proposed spending less than 20 percent of what the Corps said was needed for Lake Pontchartrain, according to a Feb. 16, 2004, article, in New Orleans CityBusiness.

On June 8, 2004, Walter Maestri, emergency management chief for Jefferson Parish, Louisiana; told the Times-Picayune: "It appears that the money has been moved in the president's budget to handle homeland security and the war in Iraq, and I suppose that's the price we pay. Nobody locally is happy that the levees can't be finished, and we are doing everything we can to make the case that this is a security issue for us."

www.editorandpublisher.com

JPD:

"It just seems that the judgement here is already given before any action has taken place."

lol..of course it is..this is a liberal website, what did you expect?? Silly!

Dear JPD----

That's an interesting theory. Louisianna should have provided the resources to take care of those levies.

Then, by extension, Louisianna should be providing the Guard troops needed to retain order in the flooded area?

Except that the Louisianna Guard is in f----- Iraq.

You people are around the bend. Further, it shows.

JPD-
I hate to point to the obvious, but your defense is that the defense of vital ports and refineries in the gulf (of Mexico...ya know, our gulf) is up to the states, and yet rebuilding Iraq is a matter proper for the attention and funds of the US gov't.

So I guess you lost me.

The missing idea JPD about the state and local business taking care of the levy problem is cost.

What is really telling is the magnitude is effecting the entire country so much so that it would have behoved the feds to help out as much as possible.

Even though each state has major enterprizes that our natural resources affect, they get quite nationalistic if not global in affect if they are not taken in do care.

I couldnt figure out a single statistic in that article. I think a retarded 12 year old could have written a better piece.

JPD,
Please give me a Damn Break, Why do you Even mention Kerry? What The Hell does Kerry have to do with this?
Deflection-Deflection-
Deflection-Deflection.

If It Is Not Clinton It Is Kerry, The Fucking President Is George W. Bush Period. As You Who Support Him Like To Rant And Rave He Won The Election !!! This Comes With the Territory. His Job Is To Have This Country Prepared! He Had More Than Enough Time.

-Sarge

JPD,

Why is it the federal governments job to fix these levees??? Don't you think the state should take care of this???
Aren't they making enough money from the real estate taxes??
Is it always the federal government's place to take care of every problem??? EVERY TIME??? Be real

The Army Corp. Of Engineers Is A Government Agencies. So If They Need More Money President Bush Should Have Provided It.

-Sarge

Hey Sarge enlighten me is the Army Corp of ENgineers a part of the US Army or what??

Larry

He is not a leader. Only a megalomaniac.

Bush is the penny-smart, dollar-stupid president. He'd rather give us a minor tax cut than upgrade the levees. Now we'll pay to fix the levies along with the rest of the city.

But of course he'll borrow money to do it. So his moron supporters will continue to operate under the belief that we'll never have to actually pay for this or Iraq.

Jim

How can you deny the incompotence this adminstration has demonstrated in their handling of every important event in the last five years. Maybe we should all move to Iraq, at least there we can become a priority.

To all you religious right idiots why is God punishing us, if Bush is so great?

There is precise wisdom in large numbers. See: www.amazon.com

One does not need Bush to resign or Congress to impeach him. Lord knows htat the alternatives lined up behind Dubya aren't any better than Dubya. Probably worse. First, Congress needs to investigate Cheney, impeach him if called for, and investigate former CIA head Tenet for dereliction and for trumped up evidence, and then persuade Dubya to play by the rules for the next 3 1/2 years, then to get out of Dodge without lining his pockets or the pockets of his buddies from the national Treasury.

We had a president that had his wet finger in the air daily to react to the 24/7 soundbite media world. This president is not worried about his "legacy." He is concerning himself with doing the right thing. I wonder if the liberals thought if they were successful enough in bashing this President, that it would change is resolve and character. I have knocked on the soul of this man...and I have found someone home.

bush has been blamed for everythin cept the lindberg kinappin and he's been investigated for that/ why would his ratin not be fallin//remember bush does not control the money the government spends the congress does if they don't ok what he recommends it don't get done//the war in iraq is not as wrong or as lost as percieved by media//i'm surprise his ratin ain't at zero
jasman

What's most amazing is, given this Presidents abysmal failure on everything, that 45% still support him.

"I have knocked on the soul of this man...and I have found someone home."

Very happy for you but he's against gay marriage so don't get your hopes up.

Notice how your entire defense of him talks about "soul" and "resolve" and "character"? Instead of throwing around buzzwords, try to defend the results of his assinine policies. He's a failure no matter how much you pray to the guy.

Jim

Jeez, people. If you don't like the job that the president is doing, don't vote him to a third term. That'll teach him.

"I have knocked on the soul of this man...and I have found someone home."

Home maybe, but asleep on the couch while the house burns down around him.

(Sigh) Why not just lower his approval rate to 0% and get it overwith.

0% approval? There are enough true believers right here (3 or 4 at least) to keep a floor of 0.000 000 000 000 4% under it indefinitely.

Illuminate us as to what that 'right thing' is, please. I'm honestly curious.

I wonder if the liberals thought if they were successful enough in bashing this President, that it would change is resolve and character. I have knocked on the soul of this man...and I have found someone home.

Yeah, Cindy Sheehan and the other Gold Star Moms can attest to how much soul Dumya has. Running from a simple and direct question; that's a president for ya!

Yup, But he is pertectin us from themm thar terraisits and keepen them thar fags gettin hitched.

one difference between cindy and most gold star moms is she has met with the pres once//does she mean to see him everytime she changes her mind//how important does she really think she is //her son was the important one /i doubt if he could voice his opinion he would complain and if he could speak my guess is he would worry bout the us leavin early and not finishin what's been started
