DAYTON, Texas – Texas authorities said Tuesday they removed 11 children from a crowded home where a registered sex offender lives after they found eight confined in a small, dark bedroom with restraints tying some to their beds.

Agreed, Gracie. This is sickening.

Too bad the authorities don't castrate these people and put an end to this horrifying abuse done to children.

Every now and then I must think "thank G-d for prison justice." The prison yard will do to these people what morality and laws don't allow us to.

You got a point, Kanrei. But so does Gracie. Nothing like the thrill of a good mob going after some pathological assholes.

When I saw the headline, I thought it might be about the incident involving Jeremy Lin.

Even after ESPN fired the parties involved and apologized for the inappropriate headline, I read an Asian-American civil rights organization said it wasn't enough.

I figure nothing short of a public execution would satisfy them.

I thought this headline might be about that.

However, the child molestation it actually was about might just deserve a public hanging.

He's nothing but a low-down, double-dealing, backstabbing, larcenous perverted worm! Hanging's too good for him. Burning's too good for him! He should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!

soon as one of you texas jealous punks comes up with only in texas horseshit..please read article..this waste of human flesh and oxygen came from michigan...

Public hanging? Even in the best case scenario, the guy just strangles in the breeze for a few minutes before kicking off. What deterrent is the death penalty? You die. It's over. So what? It has to beat the hell out of rotting in prison.

Don't give this guy the easy way out. Stick him in the general population and let him enjoy decades of beatings and prison rape. Alternatively, throw him in solitary for life. For his own "protection," of course.

Not registered as a foster home?
Tells me the loud music might've
been used to drown out the cries
of abused children.

If this is proven to be as bad as
I'm thinking then yes, public hanging
is warranted with the appropriate
placard around each perp's neck
stating WHY.

... but he always "vacations" in Texas.

Public hanging for what? A conviction 15 years ago?

Neither this article nor any other media report I have read or heard made any connection whatsoever between this sex offender and the abuse of these children.

By the way, I would support public execution when the death penalty is appropriate.

Was the sex offender in the same house as the children?

Is the sex offender allowed contact with children?

Were the children abused in a house that had a sex offender living in it?

Sounds like enough to me.

What a horrible way to talk about Rmoney.

The children and adults appear to be related.

Contact? There is no information.

Abused in the house by whom?

The grandma, who has custody, has a prior abuse history.

So, lets execute the guy who has a prior sex conviction. Sounds reasonable, to some.

A local media report. www.chron.com

Nothing about the sex offender.

But, he lives in the house.

He might have contact.

The children were abused by someone.

Yep, let's publicly hang the sex offender.

By the way, this DA's office is the same one handling the group rape of the eleven year old in Cleveland, Texas that was a story on the DR a few months ago.

I'm cool with public execution matta fact let's expand the definition of capital crimes to include having private hen chats on the Nooner

But, he lives in the house.

He might have contact.

At least two of the children in the house were runaways and not family members. That right there violates the no contact clause.

And to be fair, nobody but you has specified the sex offender. We have said whoever is responsible needs to be slowly killed in public.

A fair inference of some of the comments focus on one person. Only one person has been singled out in the posted article.

I don't support execution of child abusers. I like the suggestion of Dr. Icepick.

Another local report. www.yourhoustonnews.com

I don't support execution of child abusers.

The only times I do support execution is when a child is the victim.

Ummmmm....castration has no effect over sex offender's urges. It's pretty well known.

Excessive, no? Someone should be killed for a crime that only caused bodily and mental injury?

What's the point of capital punishment? Justice, revenge, or deterrence?

#20 | Posted by kanrei

By definition child abuse involves a child victim.

I don't support the death penalty for non-death offenses.

If child abuse results in the death of the victim, string 'em up. On the public square.

It's pretty well known.

None of the above. It is comfort for the families of the victim and nothing more.

It is not justice to kill someone for killing. That puts you on par with the person you are punishing.

It is not revenge as the victim's families have little to do with the process.

It is not deterrence as most people are convinced they won't get caught.

It is simply peace of mind for the family. A child who is a victim has a long long life to deal with the consequences of their abuse. The Hell the abuser should feel should be on par. We have laws against cruel and unusual punishment, but convicts are not limited by such laws. That is why I have been quite clear: I am thankful for prison justice in these cases.

Another proposal: Stake them down on a fire ant nest while subjecting them to Lady Gaga while Rose O'Donnell sits on their face.

Didn't you hear? That's Santorum's average Friday night! =P

That's also debatable. Because the criminal justice system leaves the victim so far out of the process (as you have pointed out), their opinions regarding punishment are never considered. There are many cases of rape, murder, even child rape-murder where the victims (or families of) did not want capital punishment as the sentence (for what ever reason), and yet that is what the system brought forth.

It is not revenge as the victim's families have little to do with the process.

Which, IMHO, is a serious problem with the CJS.

The Hell the abuser should feel should be on par.

Sounds like an attempt to define justice to me =P

The point of capital punishment? Much has been written on the subject. www.google.com

Justice has a societal element. Prosecutions are done in the name of the state. Some find a sense of justice with an execution.

Families do have input in capital cases. Rarely would a prosecutor plea down without consulting the family.

The offender is certainly deterred. Although, I doubt it has an effect on others.

got to love all the internet tough guys

lets look at some facts

records.txdps.state.tx.us

mark e. marsh is now 34, was convicted 15 years ago for criminal sexual conduct with a 15 yr old.

so a 19 yr old hooked up with a 15 yr old.

hmmmmmmmm

so yes lets kill all the 19 yr olds that had sex with 15 yr olds

criminal sexual conduct 4th degree in Michigan is a misdemeanor

so we are advocating death penalty and/or life inprison for a misdemeanor offense?

I know it's makes you folks feel better to get all worked up over this issue, but where are the facts?

Why is it that one 'regular guy' commits this particualr crime and then is labeled with it forever, and people say things like, 'was he in the same house as where someone had been molested?'.

Meanwihle, religious leaders of all the major religions (christian, muslim, jewish) can molest whole congregations and walk away with a slap on the wrist and go on to 'teach' at other congregations?

When do we start executing convicted religious perverts?

****crickets******

Funny how all of you want justice.
How many of you would turn in your relative? A friend? A co-worker?

The reason I ask is simple-Every one of you, knows a child abuser. Every one of you, knows a pedophile.
Whether it is a family member, a friend, a co-worker, or the people you hang with at church, or the bar, or play sports with.
Yet you will turn away. It is not YOUR child, it is not YOUR business.

The status quo remains unbroken.

But all of YOU can change it.

But you MUST stand.
