Our county actually suspended CCW permit applications the summer after Obama was elected, because they were so backed up with new requests.

Just wait till this November, depending on how the election shapes up. I know I'm saving every last penny for a couple new pistols and an AR-15.

Gun sales at record levels, according to FBI background checks

December holiday shoppers were not just interested in buying the hottest electronics and toys -- they also were purchasing record numbers of guns, according to the latest FBI figures on background checks required to buy firearms.

With a few days left in December, the FBI reports the number of background checks has already topped the previous one-month record -- set only in November -- of 1,534,414 inquiries by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System also known as NICS. Almost half a million checks were done in just the last six days before Christmas

Got my mad money fund set on this

Sig Sauer 615

I would call it the Fox News affect.

Headline could just as well say:

Fox News The Greatest Fear Monger in American History?

Nice Sig, PA. It's a lame reason to not get one, but every time I look at a sig I just think of Ron Swanson in Parks and Rec saying "manufactured in Switzerland for their pussy police force" and can't stop laughing.

I did just get a CZ P07 duty last week- came with the attachable flood/strobe light like the one Hit Girl uses in KickAss. Pretty fun.

Never watch fox news

Ever

But the personal arsenal went through a growth spurt post 2008 election

I know I'm saving every last penny for a couple new pistols and an AR-15.

What, specifically, are you looking at?

I've got several purchases I'd like to make but with student loan payments kicking in my saveable income just went doooowwwwwnnnnn.

Clinton '93 was my prime buying year but I'm thinking of adding a couple to my collection this year

Is Obama the greatest gun salesman in the world or are RW gun nuts just such gullible, brain-dead asswipes that they've been paying through the nose since 2008 in a market that been over-priced based purely on unsubstantiated rumors?

Smart money says the latter.

Be Well.

Boo!

you'll shoot yer eye out kid!

Obama and Fuck Snooze: Biggest and Best Depends Salesmen Ever!!!!

Pants pissers are so easy to manipulate.

More proof that the leaky left is nuts:
They always watch FOX news and Rush Limbaugh - then piss and moan about it.
They hate guns and ridicule honest gun owners yet refuse to put a sign out front of their house stating that this is gun-free home.

Here's the thing.

Even if Spud tried his best to create an alt that trolled from the right and made that alt the stupidest, most proudly ignorant, bigoted, pathetic sack of shiat imaginable in order to try and discredit the right that feigned character still couldn't hold a candle to the derp that flows, apparently effortlessly, from PO'B's keyboard with complete sincerity.

In short, his posts do more to discredit the RW mindset than anything Spud could ever write.

So... *golf clap*

Be Well.

"most proudly ignorant"

Wouldn't be surprised if, after a day spent snipe hunting and dropping M-80s down an open manhole in an attempt to capture Nessie for dinner, POB doesn't sit around the campfire at the edge of a vacant lot bragging about the crippled state of his knowledge.

"Y'know," PhesteringBoil said, wiping some oatmeal from his lips and treating himself to half a Mason jar of Everclear, "I'm sooooo fookin' ignernt I...."

LMAO as I reel in 2 more hangdown clowns

Oh, gawd, we're back on reproductive anatomy. What is it with you closet freaks and edge-of-the-swamp dwellers, penises and balls?

Actually, it's English for "Intelligence-Free Poster."

In fact, at the next Skype conference with Rogers I'm going to suggest that he reprogram whatever it is he programs so that when some moron signs on as "PhesterOBoyle" all the posts that follow will read: "Posted by Intelligence-Free Poster" or "Posted by PhesterOBoyle (Intelligence-Free Poster)."

Experienced DR folk already know it, of course, but it'll doubtless be of some assistance to newbies.

clot_skarfass has a dossier on lil ol Phester? LOL.
A sure sign of infatuation.

Dossier?
Who said anything about a dossier?
Jeebus, but you are a dumb one, aren't you, kid?

I do loves me a Doc/Phester bitch slap contest to start the morning. You go Boyle. Remember Doc's one of them elitist intellectual professors poisoning the minds of our children or so he tells us.

Disarming the Myths Promoted By the Gun Control Lobby

As much as gun control advocates might wish otherwise, their attacks are running out of ammo. With private firearm ownership at an all-time high and violent crime rates plunging, none of the scary scenarios they advanced have materialized. Abuse of responsibility by armed citizens is rare, while successful defensive interventions against assaults on their lives and property are relatively commonplace.

Newsweek has reported that law-abiding American citizens using guns in self-defense during 2003 shot and killed two and one-half times as many criminals as police did, and with fewer than one-fifth as many incidents as police where an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%).

Finally, on the subject of public safety, just how well have gun bans worked in other countries? Take the number of home break-ins while residents are present as an indication. In Canada and Britain, both with tough gun-control laws, nearly half of all burglaries occur when residents are present. But in the U.S. where many households are armed, only about 13% happen when someone is home.

I don't know about gun sales, but fucking ammo is either impossible to find or twice the price.

Ewwwwwwww...all warm and creamy!

Everyone has visions of Zombie Apocalypses dancing in their heads. I still default to Mad Max type scenarios, but the end result is the same.

Invest in reloading equipment! Not only cheaper in the long run, but it's easier to find the popular rounds, like .223.

"Is Obama the greatest gun salesman in the world or are RW gun nuts just such gullible, brain-dead asswipes that they've been paying through the nose since 2008 in a market that been over-priced based purely on unsubstantiated rumors?"

My own father is one of those right wing gun nuts. I and my daughters visited him this past weekend so he and my mom could meet their new great granddaughter. He owns probably on the order of 100 plus guns of all types, is always carrying concealed and makes his own ammunition. He was showing me his stockpile of ammunition, which numbers in the mid to high hundreds of thousands of rounds now. Told me he cast over 20,000 bullets in the past year alone.

I can see his interest in basic home defense and his shooting hobby (he doesn't hunt much anymore although he used to be an avid deer and other large game hunter. His reasoning for the ammo and weapon stockpiles -- which are more than he could ever conceivably shoot by himself -- is complete paranoia in my opinion.

He is afraid that there will be a major power outtage in New York City. Since "the only protein source there is rats and pigeons, it will be only a matter of time before the 'black people' (not his exact word of course) resort to cannibalism and then come to upstate NY and try to take over". He feels he needs to make his home into an armed fortress against the 'black people' who could be marching to central NY any day now.

I am worried about him, as are a lot of our family members.

He's pissed at me right now because I told him calling Martin Luther King day "'n-word' Day" is offensive and I'd rather he not do that around me.

Seriously, any other signs of dementia?

"Seriously, any other signs of dementia?"

Not really so far as I can see other than his starting to insinuate that he thinks blacks are a completely different species. I rarely talk to him though...he doesn't talk on the phone much and I get home once or twice a year. He's always been this way although I think he's reading conspiracy websites some and my mom and I both have a feeling that some of his outtings to "go shooting with the guys" may be meetings with a white supremacy group. He's almost 71, retired since becoming disabled at 50 and mostly stays home and makes bullets, watches hunting shows and rodeos and plays with the cats.

Well, that and he's now convinced that when he was in the army in the early 60's he may have been part of a psychological experiment. He was a sharpshooter and had sniper training as well as his work in the signal corps working with cryptology. He claims that there are a few months while he was in Europe that he doesn't remember and there's a scar on his shoulder that he's been told looks like a bullet wound. He thinks he may have been part of a group of soldiers given brainwashing drugs and sent to Viet Nam on secret missions and that he may have been wounded. My mother does say that there was a couple of months she didn't get any letters from him.

I guess come to think of it, he doesn't sound that well. It's just wonderful he has enough weaponry to fight a freaking war in his house.

Also another Obama effect is people moving their money offshore, that is trending up.

I know I'm saving every last penny for a couple new pistols and an AR-15.

Nothing better for me than winding that lil Fat ass up like an 8 day clock.
He is some shutin that sets here 24/7 with nothing better than personal insults to add.
He's buddies with cowterd gulper the 3rd person wanker that can't seem to be able to

Look the rest of us normal patriotic Americans in the eye.

I love that the rightards here are openly celebrating their paranoia.

You go panooche-con!

"Stays home and plays with the cats"

DC,

Thank God for those cats. They are all that's probably keeping him from going over the edge.

The day he stops playing with them, you really need to be worried.

Very worried.

I'm going with a "gullible, brain-dead asswipe" who buys high and sells low on this one.

Why anyone would need more than one gun for "protection" is beyond me anyway unless you are in the military (they are provided) or law enforcement (also provided).

With my one gun I could take all of yours if I wanted to. Of course, I don't need to so why would I? Unless you are attacking me... are you planning on attacking me?...or Unless the Zombie Apocalypse arrives!

Even the blogs.cdc.gov CDC doesn't seem to recommend stock piling weapons for the Zombie Apocalypse.

The most common weapon recommended for Zombies appears to be an aluminum baseball bat as ammo will apparently be more hard to come by than it is in the Obama Apocalypse (as you yourself are probably already aware).

Donner,
Cause guns are fun and I want to continue my enjoyment.. And I didn't pay a premium.

With your one gun you would take all mine?

What a howl! Bring it on fuckface!
