The MSNBC cable channel is parting ways with Pat Buchanan after 10 years over the racial content of his new book, which includes chapters called "The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America." Several groups urged his firing over remarks they characterized as bigoted. "He's been making the same racially insensitive, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements for the past 50 years," said Ari Rabin-Havt, executive vice president of Media Matters.

The liberal media watchdog Media Matters for America said that MSNBC made the right decision in letting Buchanan go.

The book "was not his first, nor his worst offense," said Ari Rabin-Havt, executive vice president of Media Matters. "He's been making the same racially insensitive, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements for the past 50 years."

How Clever! That's almost RheinShit Clever! (insult intended) Ask your mom to put that one on the refrigerator!

So long as Martin Bashir and Ed Schultz get the boot too, then fine. Otherwise this is just straight up purging of disagreeable political opinion, and nothing more.

"MSNBC President Phil Griffin said last month that he didn't think Buchanan's book "should be part of the national dialogue, much less part of the dialogue on MSNBC."

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!
!

We are too fragile to debate hard topics!

If it is controversial it makes our dimwit Lefty viewers feel bad!

Our viewers want thoughts and opinions that confirm their bias and bigotry.

That is the job of the MSM

He has every right to publish his book and MSNBC has every right to say they don't want to be associated with the author of that book.

We believe in freedom of speech, as long it falls in line with our philosophy.~~~~~libs

MSNBC did what media matters told them to do.

We believe in freedom of speech, as long it falls in line with our philosophy

It goes both ways and this is an example of it. Pat was free to publish his book and MSNBC was free to say they don't want to be associated with it.

Not that hard.

Kan is right. It's just really frustrating personally to listen to all the whining and criticism of FOX, while MSNBC go even further and yet get a pass. If you want to purge dissent from your station, you're free to do it. But then shut up about other networks supposedly doing the same.

I don't dislike Fox because they don't have the other side; I dislike Fox because they claim to be "fair and balanced" without the other side. And to be honest, I see MSNBC as Obama's Fox. I see it when I goto my parent's house for dinner and am disgusted at how biased they are.

Using Pat Buchannon and Michael Steele as your token Righties is as pathetic has claiming Alan Colmes proves your fair to the Left.

Yep, that is why I don't watch either at all.

Here's the irony;

Remember back in the day when ol' Pat seemed like the anti-christ?

He hasn't changed his message but somehow seems more moderate when compared to our current collection of repubs.

Remember back in the day when ol' Pat seemed like the anti-christ?

Dubya's election changed Pat for a while. Dubya gave Pat everything he thought he wanted and he saw it for the folly it was and changed, slightly, for a little while. The 2006 switch in Congress brought back the old Pat.

If they have found factual errors in the book, then dump him. Otherwise, this is cultural censorship....AGAIN!

Otherwise, this is cultural censorship....AGAIN!

So you are going to calling out Fox for not putting noted Liberals into their lineup? Of course not. It is only evil when the libs do it.

Figures this is a Thread by that fucking hairball, Monstman.

That's right I am hairy.

Not why they call me the monst though. Its the equipment doncha no?

While they are taking dumps over there take a look at Chris "I have had an erection since November 2008" Mathews.

His history of insulting women should be looked into.

MSNBC Dumps Pat Buchanan Because Cons Are Not Allowed To Say Half The Shit Libs Say

FTFY

bout time...the dude is a prima donna.

I didn't know he had anything to do with Ms.NBC

"The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America."

Of course he needs to be fired for those chapters. MSNBC is fully in support of both of those goals so why would they put a guy on the payroll that is trying to educate the unwashed masses that this is a bad thing? I would vote for Pat for president if I had the chance. Not that I agree with everything that he says, but he is the only candidate that is fighting back vs. the PC crowd that is destroying this country.

Ari Rabin-Havt, executive vice president of Media Matters.

Great, another jew gets offended so he does everything in his power to destroy another person's ability to make a living. How is this different from censorship exactly?

yet another example...the left doesnt give a flying FUCK about real freedom of speech and ideas and all that...

WHICH is why joe scarbourogh is such a tool and the patron saint of rinos'...

but its okay...he will be on fox Im betting and while there, there will be PEOPLE who watch it instead of msnbc's few viewers.

My favorite Rat Pukecannon quote was the 1999 article in USA Today when he was running for President.

He stated to the reporter he could not understand why the US was involved in WW2 because we should not have been picking on Hitler.

pat buchanan gives james buchanan a bad name...

I bet you patted yourself on the back for that one. I bet you even showed it to your mom.

What a fucking dork.

Just MSNBC getting rid of the last of the non-liberal voices. Why show both sides of an issue/ You can be snarky and arrogant like most of thier anchors (Maddow)and demeaning to anyone elses opinion - that is all the left wants to see. Free speech ONLY allowed if it is FULL agreement with Media Matters.

www.frugal-cafe.com

Everyone of you see this country going the direction of Europe - and see how unsustainable it has been for Europe.

You see how our freedoms are being eroded daily...how the Obama administration defies the constitution. How is says " we are for jobs" then kills the pipe line. " We are for the ederly" and then puts up a budget that raises dividend taxes by 100%

" We want people to succeed" and then put in 14000 NEW regulations.

And you STILL vote for these people. Well you have gotten the government you deserved. Bought and paid for by Soros to kill the US as the last bastion of freedom.

#10 You earned the hurt vag flag for that one.

Hopefully RCADE can still hang with bay. Or did she write those chapters?

Don't expect fairness or clarity from Media Matters.

I've always had a soft spot for Pat Buchanan on MSNBC, but this latest book and his decision to go on a white nationalist radio show is too far for me. I'm glad he was dumped. He's moved over to the David Duke wing of the Republican Party and no cable network should be lending him credibility.

I'm going to have to read Buchanans new book. I didn't even know he had written anything lately. If he has gotten msnbc stirred up by debating/writing on the topic of white guilt I'm sure it's going to be a good read.

He's better off the only negative is he may miss the check. There's nothing there except froth mouthed Marxists and fake Conseratives.

MSNBC dumped Buchanan?

I must be getting religion, because the first thing I thought when I heard this was, "There IS a God!"

IS msnbc still on the air?

Pat was one of the few on MSNBC that didn't spend the time praising Obama and bashing any and all Republicans. I watch him on the MacLaughlin Report on Sunday mornings.

Oh well, at least Pat still has the McLaughlin Group to fall back on.

He's getting a little old and his senior moments are coming more and more frequently.

Think MSNBC was afeared he would just totally lose it on air at some point here.

Imagine he already had FOX on speed dial anyways.

Will be interesting to see if they pick him up after this.

Be Well.
