Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Brent Budowsky: There is a great common denominator to what could become the GOP death march of 2012: The Republicans have become so consumed and blinded by the intensity of their obsession against the president and their pure lust for power that they stand for nothing, and offer nothing to voters, except the intensity of their obsessions, ideologies, hatreds and dislikes. ... As Republicans now turn their venom against one another other, their death march advances and it is springtime for Obama.

What do you mean they have no ideas? Hell, they plan on hooking Rmoney up to a big ass generator and powering the entire Northeast with Flip Flop energy.

Is that before or after he invades Uranus?

They have even solved the Health Care Crisis in America too.

Now that employers will only have to offer prayer books for insurance think of all the money we will save on Health Care costs!

Republicans were against flip-floppers before they were for flip-floppers.

Get off your knees and wipe your chin Sally, Obama just finshed....

Don't discount the Junior Billionaires' Club towel boy just yet folks.

His masters haven't even opened their wallets so far. The money tossed to the Mormon Moron has just been tip money.

Just wait until China, Saudi Arabia and UAE start dumping money into Willard's PACs. Oh, and Haliburton and Aetna haven't dipped into their war-chests yet, either.

Citizens United makes all these entities 'people' too and they can spend as much as they want to purchase the Presidency for Mr. Magic Underwear.

With fewer than nine months to go before Election Day, The Signal predicts that Barack Obama will win the presidential contest with 303 electoral votes to the Republican nominee's 235.

Predicting an Obama win isn't indicative of left leanings.

Now pull the cock from your mouth and instead of crying incessantly, make your own prediction. (should be good)

Hahahah, riggghhht, you hate all republicans, using hard left pergoravtives against them, and at the same time sychophantically worship the most pathetic loser to ever lie his way into office,... yet you are, 'conservative'.

Shut the fuck up you worthless left wing garbage, you make me want to puke.

Speak for yourself, cooze.

I'm glad to see that our REX is supporting Santorum (Lord knows he needs all the help he can get, LOL).

But other than dragging himself out of bed at the crack of noon to go vote, I don't see anything he's doing to make his dream come true.

When has running his mouth on the Retort ever affected the outcome of a political race. NEVER!

But that's OK. The more Santorum talks, the lower he sinks in the national polls. I give a shout out to REX for at least offering his assistance to Obama's re-election.

"But other than dragging himself out of bed at the crack of noon to go vote..."

LOL, Twinpac, LOL!

"The more Santorum talks, the lower he sinks in the national polls."

So much for the assertion this is a "conservative" - whatever that means - nation.

It may be a lot of things, and it has room for wigged-out wingnuts. But this is not a wigged-out wingnut nation, as the wigged-out wingnuts discover when they try to run one of their batshit crazies for national office.

By election time gas will be expensive, the unemployment rate will be above 8% (which means the real number is over 10%), and there will be a high underemployment.

I'm not saying he will not win, but if he does he will be the 2nd president to win with a lousy economic numbers.

He has already made history, so anything is possible.

This nation would probably be a lot more conservative than it is right now if it had anything important to get excited about. Who and who doesn't use condoms just doesn't seem to wag anybody tail except Santorum and the pretentious few who need a cause to champion ~ however ridiculous they look doing it.

These Republican wags who think they're going to control the U.S. with that kind of bullshit are cruisin' for a bruisin' ~ in a self-destructive sort of way ~~ come November.

Not that I object. I just think it's a fool's errand. However, nothing looks so good to a liberal Democrat like myself than to watch these guys piss off over half the 21st Century's population with with their antiquated patriarchy.

Bless their pea-pickin' little hearts. I think I'll e-mail Santorum and tell him to hang in there. I'll tell him he's definitely got a tiger by the tail and he's on the golden brick road to the White House. /snark/

.
.......The last nail in their coffin has been the ratcheting up of the War on Women......hard to declare war on half the population, and then expect them to vote for you...

This sudden fixation on contraception is stunning.

They actually think it's a winner?

It saddens me but interests me that you proved the point the author of this piece made: A lot of you fellows fantasize about, and apparently hope for, American failure.

Yeah, a lot of things can happen between now and next November. Hope for something good for a change, you patriotically-challenged fools.

I'm not wishing for bad times, I have to live here too. I'm just reporting what energy experts are saying that gas will go up, and the unemployment rate will be above 8%.

If I had a choice between full employement, cheap gas and 4 more years of Obama, I would take it in a NY minute.

They actually think it's a winner?

.....it's the party that supported Sarah Palin to be a heart-beat away......

.....and Mitten's in Detroit telling the auto-workers that GM and Chrysler would have been better off bankrupt......

"The Republicans have become so consumed and blinded by the intensity of their obsession against the president and their pure lust for power that they stand for nothing, and offer nothing to voters, except the intensity of their obsessions, ideologies, hatreds and dislikes. ..."

The Republicans have become lefties??????

Hope America Fails Republicans, Blame Americans First Republicans, Help China Win Republicans

It's amazing the difficult situations that hatred will get you into. RW republicans let their hatred cloud their thinking. They needed to be smarter about going after Obama. Instead, they reflexively rejected anything Obama wanted to do rather than appear to be working with him. And, since the president's goal was to improve the American economy, their reflexive response was to try and keep the economy from improving.

President Obama has publically acknowledged that some of the ideas that he wanted to put in place were republican ideas. Instead of working with the president and declaring victory for the "republican way", they work against their own ideas; ideas that they had previously championed!

Hatred will make you do stupid sh.t.

I agree that the Obama is going to be re-elected.

But this applies to the Democrats as much as is does the GOP:

"they stand for nothing, and offer nothing to voters, except the intensity of their obsessions, ideologies, hatreds and dislikes"

The Dems support Obama because he's one of them. Doesnt' matter that the differences between him and Bush, who they hated, are minimal. Their continued love for Obama is as confusing as the GOP's hatred of him.

Rex imagine a life of smoking weed and posting on the retort all day. Socialism can give you that.

#17 | Posted by jackass

Some of us can already live the dream.

"that the differences between him and Bush, who they hated, are minimal."

Riiiiiight. Just ask Sotomayor or Kagen.

""they stand for nothing, and offer nothing to voters, except the intensity of their obsessions, ideologies, hatreds and dislikes" Obamacare is not nothing.Reviving the economy the Republicans destroyed is not nothing.Ending the war in Iraq is not nothing. In his second term he will accomplish many more not nothings.

"Riiiiiight. Just ask Sotomayor or Kagen."

I could ask the Iraqis who had to force us out after Obama wanted to go back on his promises and leave troops there. I could ask the prisoners in Gitmo. Or the residents of Tripoli who were bombed (without a declaration of war). Or maybe just ask his corporate masters.

What's amazing here is not anyone's "love" for Obama but the great unwashed's unmitigated, unwarranted hatred of him. Obama did not lie his way into office, has twice the smarts of any Repub to reign in the past century, is no Marxist but right of center and wimping out on all the good stuff at that, no Mooselim but a member of the United Church of Christ and proven Hawaii-born. If it's not racism, what the hell is it? herm

Ford went that route and is doing much better, so yes Mit is right.

right of center and wimping out on all the good stuff

Could not agree more. Obama is right of center and wimps out on all the good stuff.

The state of the Republican Party? Rmoney is outspending all of his challengers combined 3-1 and still losing.

Crazy Uncle Ron likely won Maine.
Santorum won three states in one night while declaring birth control of all kinds evil.
And family values Newt is still a major challenger.

This is your Republican Party today. I actually miss Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. But they are far too liberal for the likes of the current GOP.

Actually he hit it pretty well spot on with this article from my point of viewe. That is what has turned me so far off of the Republicans. The pure venomous nature that has developed in not only what people laugh at as the base - but anyone that describes themselves as Republican. I mean anger and blind hatred fed by their "news sources". And don't you dare counter them with fact to their fallacies. Which I have been doing a lot of lately. I feel like I am arguing with far left liberals who never seem to have the facts and are ruled by pure emotions.

I can't say I have ever voted straight ticket; the closest I ever came was in voting mainly Republican several years ago. But today? I might have to be a Romney and totally flip flop.

Good article which is basically the same as what I see...

the G.O.P. has no standard bearer that is rationale...

they have no new ideas, just the same old Fear Mongering,
and Trickle Down (actually Race Upwards) Economics defending...

it is all soooooo old and soooooo worn out and soooooo 1980's -
1990's...

Personally they would have to cheat on a Biblical Scale in order
to recapture the White House...

not that I would put it past them to try...
(see the new G.O.P. redistricting efforts, voter suppression
efforts, and new ID requirements the Rethugs have put into
motion in at least 15 states)...

they know they can't win in a straight up honest election...
of course they couldn't in 2000 or 2004 either...

The Sun is beginning to set on the "White rich people only America of the G.O.P."

Thank God...

Brent is a child of the left...he was a gofer for Llyod Bentsen and does his thing on that conservatively solid thing called the. Huffington Post.

I love it when lefties like Brent and his soul mate (sole, perhaps), Krugman, offer there assorted, unbiased and contorted analyses of the Republican's sins and shortcomings. I suppose it makes them feel good.

Too bad Brent and his crowd don't offer honest critiques of .Barack

Ford went that route and is doing much better, so yes Mit is right.

.....of the big 3, Ford alone was not insolvent, they did not ask for government aid, and did not go into receivership......

......GM & Chrysler were insolvent, and no bank was willing to assist them....if they had gone through bankruptcy procedure, they would have been shut down.......America wide, it would have meant one and a half million jobs lost....

That's not true, comapanies have gone through bankruptcy and survived.

Nobody knows what would have happened if GM and Chrysler went the bankruptcy route, for you to state it like it was fact is wrong.

Ford stock is up 900% GM stock is down 30%, they owe the Government like 14 billion, and they have pension shortfall around $24.5 billion

Nobody knows what would have happened if GM and Chrysler went the bankruptcy route

.......only you and Mittens think that it would have turned out better, but if there is no bank willing to finance a bankruptcy restructoring, then all they can do is sell off the assets......

......best estimates are that 1.5 million jobs would have gone under, making the recession much worse......

......I think Mittens is trying to spin his prior call to let them fail into something positive, but I don't see how even the blue collar Repub car workers can swallow that.....

Many experts also like the Wall Street Journal say that if they would have went the bankruptcy route they would have made even more in profit, and their stock would be up not down 30% and trending lower.

They hosed over the investors for the UAW, and the investors told them to pound salt, and now thier stock is down 30% and trending lower.

Fords stock is up 900% and trending up, and is in much better shape.

That estimate, is that the same government that estimated the cost of the Iraq war. If it is, I'll take the WSJ point of view.

The Republicans have a lust for power? Who really has the lust for power?

2012 will be like a strategic foreclosure for the GOP. Obama will win, but only because the GOP doesn't want to inherit the Obama economy.

I can't say I have ever voted straight ticket; the closest I ever came was in voting mainly Republican several years ago. But today? I might have to be a Romney and totally flip flop.

Watch out FordGalaxy. In todays world, when most people can only look in one direction, a bi-cameral person is considered and enemy by both sides.

Dear President Obama,

You will probably win the 2012 Presidential election, but please realize that it has nothing to do with your policies, leadership or vision. The GOP is just too damn stupid to find a normal Republican that could clean your clock.

Sincerely,

America

#62 Disagree. You'd have to be a genius to find a normal republican.

The GOP is just too damn stupid..

....... too easy.........I'll wait for something more challenging.....

I think all the normal republicans have become independents over the last several years.

A lot of the normal democrats have joined them.

American politics is a sad sad place.
