Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Thursday, February 16, 2012

The bruising primary fight appears to be taking a toll on Mitt Romney. Fifty three percent of independents now have an unfavorable view of Romney, up nine percent from last month, in a CNN/ORC International poll. Romney also loses a hypothetical matchup with President Barack Obama, 51 percent to 42 percent, in a new Pew Research Center poll.

"A Republican, a Democrat, and an Independent walk into a bar.

The bartender says, "Mitt who?"

The author keeps using vague and undefined terms in his opinion piece.

Hard to tell exactly what Romney position's he's talking about, they change so quickly.

Funny, there is only one "R" in the race that is favorable with this "unbiased" sample.

I think the a targeter is broken, its advertising an anti-gay marraige petition on my screen.

Must be messing with me, like it keeps showing jeb's pic to danni.

What a stupid thread. Mitt has not even secured the nomination yet and already the pinheads are whining about him. Once he gets the nomination and changes his message to appeal to the Independents his numbers will go up dramatically. Just wait and see.

ROFLMAO!

ROFLMAO!

Bradford's sense of humor is growing on me.... kinda like mold on a tree.

What's your problem Kanrei? As if Mitt would have any chance of winning a general election spouting the social issue nonsense he has been forced to repeat in order to get the nomination? You are really stupid if you believe that.

What's your problem Kanrei?

No problem. I was laughing at your joke. I was being nice.

I happen to agree 100% that Mitt will change everything he "believes" to court an Independent vote. This "changing everything he believes" is his biggest problem actually.

Last time I try to be nice and laugh at one of your jokes I guess.

-This "changing everything he believes" is his biggest problem actually.

It also double as his best skill. Practice makes perfect and all.

How pathetic is it, that he cannot beat Frothy?

Unfortunately there are a lot of retards out there who will lap it up.

"Independent Voters are Rejecting Romney"

I can't speak for everyone but, I too have no love for this GOP/DNC establishment's status quo suit.

Truth be told, given that this country is on an irreversible flight path to financial catastrophe anyway, I really don't have too much interest or concern one way or the other. This is the first election in decades that I honestly couldn't care less. I used to fight the good fight in the hope that we could fix our broken system of government but now, it's just a matter of time before the other shoe drops. It is what it is. It's gone too far. Romney is Gingrich is 0bama is Bush. They all pander, promise a chest full of money and use Chinese money to buy American votes...suckers.

This "changing everything he believes" is his biggest problem actually.

don't be butt-hurt, kanny. you thought he was making a joke because no one can be that simple, but you were wrong. he is that simple and he wasn't making a joke.

OTOH, it's not a new phenomenon that politicians are a bunch of liars and chameleons. I can't think of one, of any party, who hasn't turned with the wind. This very phenomenon is what makes me a cynic today.

You mean you're what I have to look forward to?

I'm going to go sit over in this corner again and try not to slip in my tears.

You mean you're what I have to look forward to?

I'm not sure what this means.

I take it you mean you also feel cynical about politics. If so, then that actually speaks well of you, IMHO.

However, I would advise you to know the ways of your enemy and learn to care about them, as people, no matter how stupid their beliefs are. Otherwise, you will not be able to buy wine, cheese and a comfortable sofa. You will only be able to beg for water.

There is not much demand, in the marketplace, for cynics, since cynics are just frustrated amateur philosophers.

"I take it you mean you also feel cynical about politics."

Well it sure hasn't hurt my investment portfolio.

"However, I would advise you to know the ways of your enemy and learn to care about them, as people, no matter how stupid their beliefs are."

I thought I was doing it to try to make people like me real to them. It turns out their instinct for empathy was atrophied and now they're just voices in my head.

"Otherwise, you will not be able to buy wine, cheese and a comfortable sofa. You will only be able to beg for water."

Yeah. I just last week had a conversation with an ex-girlfriend who wanted to know about all this stuff we talk about on the DR, and some of the more fringe theories about what is going on. I told her that she had a nice life and a beautiful family and that she should be careful about the audience she chooses to discuss these issues with, that she might not like how far down that rabbit hole goes. At first she didn't get it, so she pressed me. Eventually I had her nearly in tears and ready to stockpile arms and build an underground bunker in Wyoming, and distrusting her husband for not being "awake" (which she was criticizing me for just minutes earlier). I think I took my cynicism to Level: Hipster, but I did warn her before-hand.

Somehow didn't stop me from getting that degree.

Kanrei is the most petulant, easily-butthurt poster on the Retort.

Discuss.

You are totally correct. I mean what are Obama's numbers with independents?

I'm starting to worry Monte has a sock with my name written on it. His obsession is rather frightening.
