Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

President Barack Obama has released a 2013 budget that blends short-term stimulus spending to boost job creation with long-term measures to balance the nation's books, reports CBS MoneyWatch. The budget for the government's next fiscal year would shrink the deficit by $4 trillion over the next 10 years by cutting federal spending and by raising taxes on people earning at least $250,000 per year.

Obama proposes $800 million in aid for "Arab Spring"
www.reuters.com

-Obama is proposing $2.50 in spending cuts for every $1 dollar the government would raise in revenue by raising taxes on high income-earners and from eliminating corporate tax breaks.

St Reagan was happy to get $1 to $1 spending cuts to revenues raised.

These days, proposing to go from 35 percent to Clinton era tax rates of 39 percent is considered by the Nutwing to be the first sign of the Coming Commie/Muslim Apocalypse.

WOOO HOOO The Community Organizer can just print more money who cares about a pesky national deficit,,,

Short term Stimulus equals tough choices? What was the fucking alternative? Long term spending?

Do these tough choices enable him to live up to his claim to decrease the deficit by half in his 4 years?

It looks like half of budgeted spending is on borrowed money. So Obama chose the Greek Way. No surprise there.

The plan calls for deficit reduction to be achieved chiefly by slashing government expenditures.

As credible as a fat lady on a diet.

I don't think Wissy's diet is the point here, Ray.

I don't know why he bothered. It won't go anywhere with this Congress.

This Congress is not capable of tough choices.

They just caved on the Payroll Tax cuts.

WASHINGTON -- House GOP leaders announced Monday they were putting forward a "backup plan" that would extend the payroll tax cut for ten months, while cleaving it from a similar extension of unemployment insurance benefits and what's known as the "doc fix," a measure needed to prevent dramatic cuts in Medicare reimbursements. The plan would not be offset by cuts elsewhere, the announcement said, meaning the cost of the tax cut would be added to the deficit.

The announcement, made quietly on a day Washington is digesting the president's budget proposal, is a stark reversal. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) took the floor shortly after the statement was emailed to reporters and spoke only of the budget.

Steady, little man. I'm not the one proposing this stinky budget.

Lol, Reagan would have thought he'd died an gone to heaven if he could have gotten, "$2.50 in spending cuts for every $1 dollar the government would raise in revenue".

"It includes $3.3 billion for Afghanistan, $1 billion for Pakistan, and $4 billion for Iraq, where U.S. troops have left the country but the State Department has picked up some of their functions such as police training."

$4B for Iraq for police training? Bwahhahaha!!!!

Almost 1 billion for "Arab Spring".

For 2013, the White House projects a deficit of $901 billion, or 5.5 percent of GDP. That figure is down from an estimated $1.33 trillion in fiscal-year 2012, 8.5 percent of GDP. The goal is to reduce the budget gap to 2.7 percent percent of GDP, or $575 billion, by 2018.

LMAO... We all know Obama's budget projections. Let's look at his very first one and see how accurate it was. Not to mention his ACA projections...

"According to projections in the Obama administration's proposed budget , released at the end of February, the yearly deficit would go from $1.75 trillion in 2009 to $533 billion in 2013 and $570 billion in 2014."

"Almost 1 billion for "Arab Spring"."

How much is going to Syria?

Obama is also proposing an ambitious $476 billion six-year transportation package â€"a nearly 50 percent increase over current spendingâ€"as the centerpiece of his new infrastructure budget. And $231 billion of this cost would be covered by war savings, rather than demand an increase in the gasoline tax.

Yes sir. This is how you balance the nations books!

"Yeah! If we want to spend money on peace in the ME, we should send 1/2 million troops!" - Got War? Bush (Paid for by the EXP/Wus Anklebiters of America)

- new infrastructure budget

"We don' need no stinkin' infrastructure!"

"Within the Energy Department, a new $6 billion HomeStar rebate proposal would reward homeowners who retrofit their property."

Well, this should help the poor folks by giving them the ability to put solar panels on their ghetto rental property.

Corky tries to pretend the first infrastructure spending promise went to studies on male asian prostitutes, cocaine induced monkeys and mice, african ball washing techniques he submitted...

So about the deficit reduction by half? Did he get the job done as promised?

"We don' need no stinkin' infrastructure!"

Maybe we can have high speed rail between Milwaukee and Ashwaubenon.
That way we'll have 2 less people on the interstate twice a year.

Well, this should help the poor folks by giving them the ability to put solar panels on their ghetto rental property.

This is priceless.

I agree with OC that there should be a deduction for people like him who have to spend their hard earned money for hookers because a free lay is never going to happen for him again.

It only makes sense.

This is worthless anklebiting.

Nothing in it you disagree with, right Corky? He's the bestest President again this month, isn't he?

What makes sense is you supporting where that stimulus money went, and today you are wanting more of the same. That is where we differ and I can understand why you are jealous. I prefer to pay for 22 YO female hookers, and you want to see how the studies on drunk male asian prostitutes works out for you in the long run. Not sure how that doesn't conflict with you wanting to expand the proper way for Africans to wash their nuts?

Better than anything in the Klown Kar Pinto, Wis.

Truth be told, this budget would have been a rwing wet dream not so many years ago.

Maybe if he hadn't already ran up this much debt, but he done did. This budget is going nowhere (unless SNL needs some material).

Federal debt on a trajectory towards the moon.

Oh look. What a amazing coincidence. So is the money supply.
research.stlouisfed.org

Well. Not everything is going up. The percentage of working age population who can't find jobs is going down.
research.stlouisfed.org

Which means that the more government spends and borrows, the more jobs it destroys.

"health research and pollution control to education and child care",

why is he balancing the budget on the backs of the sick, destroying the quality of air and water and never mind the harmful effects on education and child care- he hates babies having clean air and water.

Trust me, Wissy.

Even though his graph is factual, it won't hurt you to see it.... much.

That's really nice Corky. Got anything a bit more up to date? I mean August of 2011 is so last year.

It is an interesting graph. Question... Did Obama continue most of Bush's spending?

Did he have to?

Most of GWs spending was long term borrowing that Obama had no choice in not continuing to pay back to our Chinese bankers, with interest.

Most of his own was the short term stimulus.

It is an interesting graph. Question... Did Obama continue most of Bush's spending?

"Did he have to?"

Better yet, did Pelosi and Reid spend more or less during their reign under Bush or Obama?

Most of his own was the short term stimulus.

#38 | Posted by Corky Most of GWs spending was long term borrowing that Obama had no choice in not continuing to pay back to our Chinese bankers, with interest.

You don't know shit about money, accounting or budgets do you? So you are on record, that our current budget problems is the interest in the increase in Debt acquired under Bush?

Inauguration day of George W. Bush on 1/20/2001 5,727,776,738,304.64 G.W. Bush debt increase $4,899,100,310,000.00

Inauguration day of Barack Obama Debt on 1/20/2009 $10,626,877,048,913.08 Barack Obama Debt increase $4,722,507,950,000.00

Current Debt $15,349,385,000.00
Data From
www.treasurydirect.gov

Interesting note that the debt on January 2, 2007 when the democrats took over the congress was $8,673,152,446,066.83 so they ran up the debt in two years roughly the same as GW Bush didn’t in his first 6 years.

So interest on 4.9 trillion is the problem?

Corky is smoking dried turds again. If Obama wins reelection the nation debt will rise to 22 trillion dollars or more by the time his second term is over. That means roughly 1/4 of all government tax receipts will go to pay interest on that debt. its unsustainable. No Obama is on course to completely destroy this country and democrats are cheering him all the way.

What happens when interest rates go up to the cost to borrow from our chinese masters?

What happens? If your ilk is in charge, the same thing that always happens. The wealthy will be given a huge unpaid for tax cut.... and maybe even a cool new huge unpaid for war, loaned us by said Chinese.

It'll be deja vu all over again.

Well, "President" Obama had to know his "budget" was dead on arrival. So I would imagine that the tough choices referred to in the article, was whether or not to go with Helvetica font, or the Times New Roman.

RiR,

The Senate hasn't passed a budget in over 1000 days and Obama's lackey (Chew or Lew - I can never remember his name) actually blamed the GOP on Meet the Press.

It was absurd on multiple levels and of course Gregory didn't really push the issue that hard.

Hell, Obama's last budget was voted down 97-0 in the senate. 3 of his 4 budgets were submitted after the legal deadline since coming into office.

The "neo-cons" were terrible, but this quintuples down on their irresponsibility almost to the point of criminality.

"What happens when interest rates go up to the cost to borrow from our chinese masters?"

Knowing the POS in chief has done everything he can to lengthen the Housing recovery, my guess is when rates DO go up, instead of a 2015 target just for stabilization, that would be pushed back to another 3-5 years.

Almost laughable knowing 70% of consumer spending is housing related...

What happens? If your ilk is in charge, the same thing that always happens. The wealthy will be given a huge unpaid for tax cut.... and maybe even a cool new huge unpaid for war, loaned us by said Chinese.

It'll be deja vu all over again.

And Obama just pays increased foreign aid to countries that are killing their civilians. Money also borrowed from China.

What is your point? They all waste money... that should be reason for you to VOTE FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

= that should be reason

Always telling people what they should do.

-foreign aid

Not even a drop in the bucket compared to the reelection tax cuts and wars the last admin borrowed for.

Ah... so its all about how much bad stuff is done rather than just the fact that bad stuff is done.

I see you are still carrying things over from yesterday. Sorry for your pain. It must be horrible to be shown your inconsistency while at the same time being unable to admit such.

I'm just noting the mediocre mind required to compare the expense of foreign aid to that of unpaid for tax cuts and wars, which is what your #48 did with my #44.

Oh... alright. Like I said if the waste isn't big enough it doesn't matter to you, or so it seems.

I got it. Don't worry.

Obama supporters love to be donkey punched.

Yes, of course, the value of things done does matter, only a fool would not think so.

Sorry, I think all waste should be removed. Especially when you are talking about taking more money from the American people.

It's funny that this came about from you AFTER Obama became president.

The tough choices - www.weeklystandard.com - $70,000 dollars of debt per family for Obama's $5.170 trillion deficit spending over 4 years...

www.weeklystandard.com

This Congress is not capable of tough choices.

Congress? Obummers definition of a tough choice is whether to vacation with Michelle in Spain or in Bermuda.

no time to even scan but let me tell you how this is going to play out

SENATE HAS NO INTENTIONS AT ALL OF even bringing this to a vote....

and when the gop house says fuck no and laughs at it...

THEN they will keep up the BULLSHIT Lies about gop blocking food from reaching poor people because of no budget etc etc etc and on and on and the music goes round and round and round..

its an old sad same old story that libs keep using....

SO harry ried lets senate vote on it NOW....and house then doesnt vote, then the gop IS blocking it...but if the house just REJECTS IT...thats not blocking, thats voting...

SO HARRY FRIGGIN REID..

whatsitgonna be dipshit??????

Well, this should help the poor folks by giving them the ability to put solar panels on their ghetto rental property.

#20 | Posted by wisgod

Or it could give them a job retrofitting your ghetto properties.

But, we couldn't have that could we...that might actually help the unemployment rate and that would be very very Bad for Republicans.

To put it into perspective to you our governments budget is like a person earning 22 k a year and spending 38 and having 150 k in debt and 1 mil in unfunded liabilities.

Does that look good to any of you dem/rep finance hawks? Would you loan any person in the above situation ANY of your money.

The jigs up whether yall want to believe it or not.

A country boy can survive. I can hammer, nail and paint do all kinds a things a city man caaan't.

And like a dumbass redneck (or Joe the Dumber) you keep on trying to compare the Budget of the United States of America, the powerful Nation on Earth, with your wimpy household budget...

Would you loan any person in the above situation ANY of your money.

If he was the most powerful "person" in the world with the largest economy in the world and the most powerful military in the world then yes, I guess I would.

In fact, I think I already do.

Are you telling us you wouldn't bet on (or invest in) America (Americans)?

It's a gimmick--it's not a budget.

It's incredible gov't spending. Does not address the deficits--that he promised in 2009.

He's adding 5 trillion to the debt in his first term.

He's clueless.

And taxing the rich does nothing.

He's incompetent.

He's killing the country.

The House is coming out with their own budget.

The Senate per Reid--won't pass either.

cutting federal spending

What a fucking joke.

"The White House intends to increase taxpayer-funded subsidies for those who purchase new-technology vehicles to $10,000 per buyer, up from $7,500. Keep in mind that the average income of a Volt buyer is $175,000 per year. That means that middle-class taxpayers are helping the rich buy pricy, politically correct cars."
