Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Sunday, February 12, 2012

A $1 billion, 250-megawatt solar farm under construction in the desert east of Los Angeles is being threatened by a deadly outbreak of distemper among kit foxes and the discovery of a possible prehistoric human settlement. The Genesis Solar Energy Project, which will power 187,000 homes and is backed by an $825 million federal loan guarantee, is the first of 12 planned solar farms in Southern California. Native Americans are trying to delay or scuttle the project because of the fox and the ancestral cremation site, which if confirmed is protected by the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

is the desert to small for both?

Sounds like $825 Million of tax money down the crapper again!!!

At least humans will be blamed for something other than Glowable warming.

Damn Injuns!

humans will be blamed for ruining human burial sites? (insert reply to red herring bait)

There are tons of kit foxes, and screw the remains, they are dead.

They found an inscription saying "happy extinction suckers,Zat"

Why do the ancient humans hate us?

The planners must have known they were disturbing a Native sacred area. I have 100% belief this "discovery" was planned and suspect someone high up the chain is getting paid off to delay solar power at all costs.

Woah, pre-historic?! That's national preserve language.

We need population control.

Less Democrats.....less stupidity.....more common sense by percentage to the population.

Less Gimme, more no thanks I'll get my own.

Less trying to drag the unproductive forward, more work or starve.

Less I'm know whats good for you, more your not me, I'll speak for me.

Less we are reasonable for each, more we are responsible to each other.

Less tax spending on bad ideas, more private investment in good ideas.

Less if you can't pay for it the tax payer will, more if you can't pay for it you can't have it.

Less money from property tax for schools, more tax on school related items.

Less drug addicts on welfare, more drug testing of people on welfare.

Less anonymous people voting, more voter photo I.D.

Less Government trying to run the economy, more the market running the economy.

However, More NOPE IN NOVEMBER and less Obama in November would be a very large improvement.

Weird shit happens when you build on cemeteries and disturb the beast. Just wait till the the corpses start coming out of the ground, as in this artist's rendering: www.youtube.com

I say we need less Mensakook on the retort. You are just scum that does not deserve to post here. Your ideas are garbage.

Typical Libtart, their voice only......I think not.

....NOPE IN NOVEMBER......

Those pre-historic Native American burial sites should be left intact and undisturbed. We have plenty of space elsewhere to build solar farms. Use that land instead. Keeping all of our nation's historical preserves, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem, is important to our heritage.

Just saying any human remains is an ancient 'indian burial site' is freaking ridiculous.

Get what you can and bulldoze the rest.

Damn.................. The greenies run into the mouse counters. Who will win?

So construction should be abandoned?

Not abandoned, just relocated.

.

Three square miles? That's quite the solar array.

Quite sure you'll have the same opinion when it's your mama's grave being dozed for a new condo community.

Your ideas are garbage.

One of those "pot calling the kettle black" thangs.

Or is it "kettle calling the pot black"?

Something or someone has died or been burried on every square inch of this planet. If we halt construction every time we find something was burried there, we will have no where to build.

It is in the middle of the freekin desert. They can build around it, or over it and put up a nice memorial, a nice plaqu as you enter or at the overlook site. That should do it.

Quite sure you'll have the same opinion when it's your mama's grave being dozed for a new condo community.

Is his moma gonna bitch about it?

I agree with Chris. I have about 219 acres north of this site that is under EIR to begin building a solar farm.

Better for me, no fox, but alas a squirrel. Any poachers out there?
