They are obviously up to something.

The obvious answer is, they can't afford to let Pakistan turn into another America-hating Iran (this time with nukes and missiles that actually work).

So they want to increase "people to people" contacts, so we can see for ourselves what America is all about.

The side benefit to the US is, of course, "brain drain". They target the places with the brightest people and get the talent to come to the US.

I believe we should reject this offer (too bad my Govt wants to be friends with the US) because better education is available from China.

All of Pakistan's top scientists and engineers.... like the people who work in the defense industry or nuclear industry or in energy.... most of them have been educated in Pakistan itself.

If there is something we can't teach, there is always China.

Most of these Americans who come here as "students" are probably spies, btw.
