Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A bipartisan group of senators including Bob Casey (D-Penn.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) are circulating a draft resolution to pressure the Obama administration to limit diplomatic efforts to resolve concerns about Iran's nuclear program. The resolution rules out "a strategy of containment for a nuclear-armed Iran in the strongest and clearest terms," the senators said -- a move that would make war more likely.

What? You mean Senator Joe "Let's go to war for Israel and use American lives to fight it" Lieberman wants to nuke Iran? Naaaah.

Joe Lieberman belongs as a politician in Israel's Knesset and not in the U.S. Senate. Lieberman -- who holds dual citizenship with both the U.S. and Israel -- is a prime example why no one who is a dual citizen should ever be allowed to hold political office in this country. We all know exactly where Lieberman's true loyalty lies and it's not with the United States.

Actually, a D, an R, and an I would be TRI-partisan....but seeing as they all are old, tired, neo-con war-mongering chicken-hawks....fuck 'em.

Remember when all the democrats were saying "if we elected John McCain we would end up at war with Iran"? Funny how we are about to end up at war with Iran and Syria after electing Obama as president.

These three senators need to be given a guarantee not to return to their seats after their term is up.

Lindsey Graham is a piece of shit.

Lindsey Graham is a piece of shit.

He also makes Marcus Bachmann look like Clint Eastwood.

So there's that.

Be Well.

Non binding resolutions aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Worth noting here.

Be Well.

Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.)

The I stands for Israel.

Joe's always been a fan of the US fighting proxy wars for Israel.

Why should this time be any different?

Be Well.

Obviously Obama's fault, right?

Pretty sure the President has done everything he can to avoid putting troops on the ground in either country.

#8, of course! He doesn't want war. He's just flying stealth drones over their land and assassinating their scientists and sending carriers to their shores and trying to destroy their central bank and laying on sanctions left and right, all for shits and giggles.

Obama has been assassinating Iranian scientists? According to whom?

Congress and the President will do their darnest to find a patriotic reason to attack Iran and later when the idea becomes unpopular find some obscure George W Bush policy to use as a scapegoat about how they were misled

Assassinating scientists? How's the tinfoil hat?

The carriers have been there since the 90's. So have the spying aircraft.

Sanctions...yeah, I'd call that a huge attempt to AVOID war. That's the POINT of sanctions.

Sometimes I can't tell if you are trying to sound stupid or really just are that dumb.

well he is certainly allied with those who did and is not punishing that behavior

True. Sadly, at some point America has been allied to every country who cheerfully assassinated their enemies within and without.

Obviously Obama's fault, right?

Only if things don't work out.

Can't help but think of Charlton Heston famous line in Planet of the Apes. "You Maniacs"!!!!

Then again, no shocker see Joe Lieberman on there. Eric Cantor won't be too far behind. Another card-carrying Zionist scumbag.

Sactions are not going to work and everybody knows it. Including President Obama. Unfortunately, he also knows that he won't be re-elected if he gets us into another war. And let's face it. A politicians job is to get re-elected. Server thier constituancy comes a distant second.

"Sactions are not going to work and everybody knows it."

We could whip the shit out of them in a war and it still wouldn't turn them into obedient pro-American drones. They'd still persue nukes as soon as our troops leave. We'd be spending trillions and thousands of lives to delay them for a decade at most. What's the point?

Server thier constituancy comes a distant second.

Right behind following their marching orders from the zionist in the International Banking Cartel.

Unfortunately containment will not stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. If any one here thinks Iran with nukes is a good thing, thing again. Better a conventional war and stop them now or eventually nukes polluting the atmosphere affecting many countries (not just Israel).

It's times like this I wish we elected Vermin Supreme, the benevolent dictator. He wants to give us all ponies.

the President has done everything he can to avoid putting troops on the ground in either country.

This will be the line when we start dropping bombs on Iran during Obama's second term.

Sixty years of US lies, CIA plotting including assassinations, and trade sanctions. Iran is not paranoid, they have good cause to shore up their defenses given the craven behavior of Israel and the US. The notion that Iran is a threat to Israel or the US is patently absurd. What they are is an independent regime, which is viewed as intolerable. Everyone must have a proxy US leader, unless they're too big to fuck with. A necessary build up to real war is the propaganda war of which this is a small part. Yet, our show of force consistently builds their desire for independence. When will "they" ever learn?

"Sanctions...yeah, I'd call that a huge attempt to AVOID war. That's the POINT of sanctions."

The point of sanctions is to cripple a country's economy, ruin its infrastructure and impoverish its people. Its just politically safer for the proponents of the sanctions.

Sanctions infuriate the population. They don't hurt the government, but the people- they give the Iranian regime propaganda to whip their citizenry up into a patriotic fervor over the foreign enemy.

As for us killing Iranian scientists, www.presstv.ir if you believe it.

And let's not forget the "Iran asked a used car salesman in Texas to ask a Mexican drug gang to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in DC" bullshit they fed us a few months ago.

Every drone, every war ship, every sanction we send to Iran just wants them to make a bomb that much more. A nuke gets you respect. The only course of action that avoids war and avoids them pursing a nuke is to LEAVE THEM THE HELL ALONE. Your Obama "containment" line is bullshit.

I don't have as big a problem with selective attacks to assist oppressed rebels, such as was the case in Libya. Or with surgical strikes, to take out certain capabilities, such as may be necessary in Iran.

It's occupation and nation building that I really think we need to stay away from. You can stomp on an ant pile and the ants will be really pissed off for a while. In the end they'll still rebuild their own pile.

So if China flies a couple Migs in to take out some nuke silos in the west but doesn't actually invade us, we wouldn't be pissed about it for generations? We wouldn't be clamoring to retaliate? Why the hell do so many Americans think that other nations lack patriotism and a respect for sovereignty like we do?

And as for Libya, look up "moral hazard" and how that actually encourages rebel groups to start wars they can't win.

"Why the hell do so many Americans think that other nations lack patriotism and a respect for sovereignty like we do?"

It's not so much that as it is that our leaders have political interests that supercede all others.

OK if that is what they want, then they need to draft a declaration of war and get it passed by the required two thirds majority. Then present it to the President to carry out the job. Anything short of that and these fuckers need to be recalled by the people of their states. and held to account for failure to do their duties.

Meant to say "like we have" instead of "do," since we certainly don't lack patriotism. But you know what I meant.

"Sanctions infuriate the population. They don't hurt the government, but the people- they give the Iranian regime propaganda to whip their citizenry up into a patriotic fervor over the foreign enemy."

Sanctions are appeasement for our war mongers, nothing more. I know I've said it before but it is the truth.

Remember the Iran protests, one bomb and they are all firmly on the side of the Ayatollah. If you want to have peace with Iran and for Iran to become a modern country then don't play into the hands of the dictators who justify their power with the threat from outside which would be us.
Surely you won't fall for this again? Really?

We already have a puppet Senate? By passing a non-binding agreement prior to Obama executing war on Iran or Syria, I assume they want to LOOK like they remain relevant.

Why doesn't Congress try like before they were only ceremonial, and either declare war or not. Why don't they use the war powers act to enforce their congressional power and require the president to show cause to continue or defund his war machine, like should have been done for Libya?

Insider trading is that profitable? What are you guys being threatened by? Do you guys work for a foreign power? For any organization other than the US?

The people (red force) would like to know [sorry, we already know].
