Pvt. Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier accused of passing thousands of classified government documents to the whistleblower website Wikileaks, is among the 200 nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize this year, the Russian news network RT reported. A parliamentary group in Iceland put forward his name for the prize. Icelandic MP Birgitta Yonsdottir said Manning deserves the nomination because he "helped to fuel a worldwide discussion about America's overseas engagements, civilian war casualties, imperialistic manipulations, and rules of engagement."

I nominate Eli Manning myself.

Bradley Manning is more deserving of the prize than Obama.

Lol, diablo supports Manning ...shhhh he won't realize we're talking about the other one ;)

There's 1000's of search-result articles like this one:
Blood on whose hands?

After Obama's award everyone knows the Nobel Prize is nothing more than a bad joke anyway.

I'm sure the folks who award the Nobel Prizes will give your comments all the attention they merit, Tedly.

After Obama's award everyone knows the Nobel Prize is nothing more than a bad joke anyway.

The sad thing is that there have also been some very deserving winners, and their work is denigrated by giving it to Obama - or anyone who hasn't truly earned it.

Would like a word.

Be Well.

Doc if they listened to what I had to say you and Spud would share the next one but we all know how that goes. Shame to let Spud drag you down, must be the language (Canadian?).

Irena Sendler

Died
12 May 2008 (aged 98)
Warsaw, Poland
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a

Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an ‘ulterior motive’.

She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews (being German).

Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried

and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids).

She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi

soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the

barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500

kids/infants.

She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, arms and beat her

severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and

kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived

it and reunited the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.

She was not selected.

President Obama won one year before becoming President for his work as

a community organizer for ACORN and Al Gore won also â€" for a slide show on Global Warming.

Brad Manning and Daniel Ellsberg: American heroes deserving of statues. herm

No part of his dereliction of duty did anything to promote world unity or reduce civilian casualties. Much to the dismay of the "fine" folks who support him, if the actions did anything at all, they caused casualties. It may not have, but there was absolutely zero chance it "saved" a single life. There was only the potential for harm. Furthermore, nothing he "leaked" was even illegal activity. Collateral damage and targets hit due to incorrect intelligence is extremely unfortunate, but unless civilians were specifically targeted, there's no "war crime".

War sucks ass. Bad things happen. Should we have been in these wars in the first place? No. But we are, and.. well.. war sucks ass, but it's impossible to fight one without mistakes.

#13 I can agree with most of that, but I can't agree with the treatment of the man. It's pathetic. Solitary is not for human beings.

Right up there with Benedict Arnold eh HERM? Of course, when YOUR heroes are the folks who ran death camps in WWII, I really can see why you support these slimes.

#15 now he's a nazi? idiot.

Hows that radio show?

ROTFLMFAO

What about all the material BM released that didn't pass the smell test, should he be tried for that?

Because all I hear from his defenders is that he is some sort of hero that did us a great big favor by snitching but nothing about the other material involved.

didn't pass the smell test

If it weren't for the media butting in, he'd have been tried by now.

If it weren't for solitary, he'd have been gutted by now.

I'm really not sure how else they could have handled it.

What's weird is I now get why he may also be charged with Treason. His actions absolutely aided and comforted the enemy.

#20 - they must have another option. history has shown that solitary just shreds human beings...

Any other option which was not "build a specific prison just for him and him alone" exposed him to gen pop. He would not have survived gen pop, and it's insane to expect a new type of prison to be built for one person.

And again, had the media not butted in, nobody would have known what he was under court martial FOR. Court martial circumstances are "need to know" and nobody with the clearance to know would have day to day contact with the gen pop. Had this not been "leaked" he'd have gotten fair treatment.

#23 they should build it for a lot of prisoners. solitary isn't making people better, it's making them worse and more dangerous.

The Nobel committee doesn't accept nominations.

Rush Limbaugh tried to get himself nominated.

Maybe for a Piece Prize (as in Piece of Shit)

Bruce ~ Bradley Manning should have had his court martial within the first 90 days and if found guilty given either life in solitude, the opportunity to kill himself thus saving the military the expense of doing it , or the firing squad. The recruiter that ok'd his enlistment should suffer the same fate.

I wonder how the weak little attention whore is enjoying his 15mins. of fame know?

He sure showed us, LOL

The conditions of his detention prompted international concern. David House, the computer scientist allowed to visit him twice a month, said in December 2010 that he had watched Manning change from an intelligent young man to someone who appeared catatonic and had difficulty conducting a conversation. Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich and Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, a WikiLeaks volunteer, compared the treatment to what happened inside the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Ellsberg wrote that it amounted to "no-touch torture", and that its purpose was to demoralize Manning so he would implicate WikiLeaks and Julian Assange.[39]

Like the fine poster above said, Manning deserves the prize more than Obama.

RT just did another piece on this topic:

'If Obama wins Nobel prize, why shouldn't Manning?'

Just think: that crook Bradley Manning rots in prison while my nominee, ELI!, gets a parade today. Life is good.

Don't you mean you're so proud of the media and other civilians for butting in? Had they not had a collective orgasm, Manning could have been in gen pop, would have been tried within 2 months, and would have met his fate long ago.

#30 Hi devil - at least YOU are enjoying your short time.

Bradley Manning committed treason by all accounts. He derserves to pay the appropriate price for his actions. Then, to some, he will be a martyr. To the rest he will still be a treasonous individual.

After Obama's award everyone knows the Nobel Prize is nothing more than a bad joke anyway.

Really? First black guy to become President in a nation built on the slave trade and home to Jim Crow laws until about 40 years ago isn't worth a Nobel Prize nod? Really?

You know when the last school was desegregated? 1981. It took decades because the South just wouldn't give up without appealing every last desegregation claim to the Supreme Court.

So how about a big helping of STFU already.

I hope Manning wins the prize. It will be a much richer fuck-you when we hang him for treason.

The Nobel Peace Prize...its the new Grammys!

HAHAHAHAHA...the super-lib douche bag professor totally bashes Obeezy. The second best thing about that clip is the footage from the gun camera showing those terrorist sacks of shit getting a tasty dose of American firepower. So fucking funny to see them just standing around like they are discussing last nights episode of The Office and then BAM!...Lead shower! bummmer.

If you want to be spared the the super-lib douche bag professor (artist and activist, BTW):

Just think, this should please Republicans. We can be just like China and have Nobel Peace Prize winners in prison! Republicans are always dreaming of making America more like China.

It will be a much richer fuck-you when we hang him for treason.

"KILL!!! KILL!!! KILL!!! LONG LIVE RUNNING MAN!!!"

#39 wow sheeple that's quite a vision there. Sorta like in the 1984 movie when they had the public executions on TV and the kids all excited about getting the next one.

HOW is leaking classified military information to our nation's enemies deserving of a "peace" prize?

"HOW is leaking classified military information to our nation's enemies "

What enemies?

Hmmm... not one of his defenders answered if he should be tried for releasing secret information besides the info they are calling him a hero for.

Figures.

What-ever.

Someone should write a book with the title, "Upside Down World." It could be similar to "Alice in Wonderland."

Bradley Manning was denied hisright to a speedy trial and held in solitary confinment for one reason only. To get him to say that Julian Assange made him do it.

The US Government is afraid of the truth because their foriegn policy is nothing more than evil greedfucking gone haywire. Since WWII the USA has become the greatest perpetrator of terror and destruction on the planet. Yet it keeps losing to uneducated poor people using obsolete weapons. We keep killing them and they never give up. We do not prosecute the helicopter gunship slaughterfest and we don't care what happens to Manning, Assange or our Constitutional rights much less mankind's human rights. They don't matter any more, except for blastulas.

Can you nominate groups for a peace prize? If so, Manning should be nominated, along with Aldrich Ames, Walkers Jr and Sr, and the Rosenbergs (especially the Rosenbergs).

Iceland RAWKS!

Noice one.

I hope they do award Manning the Nobel Piece Prize. Then he can hold it in his arms and it will give the firing squad a good aiming point.

Herm, do you really believe the BS. you put out here or are you just raging against the whole world.

Just exactly what do you think it takes to hold a nation together.
Think of any big city you have been in, now think of all the walking pieces of shit, nut , druggies , murders , rapist, that you see.
Now look at them on a world wide scale.

You really think that other nations means us no harm, is that what you think...really.

If you believe in the world you think it should be, just go walking into any homeless shelter or subway tunnel you come across and see what the people you find there tell you about you dream world.

And what do you know of any place other than where you are right now.

......NOPE IN NOVEMBER....

It is unfortunate that ever since Obama was awarded the prize for being black, an achievement that he had nothing to do with, it has lost its luster. Gone are the days where giants of humanity such as Dr. King were awarded the prize....replaced now with the little bitter negro...with the big chip on his shoulder.

Archie Manning is more deserving of the Nobel Peace prize than that piece of shit, Bradley Manning.
