Third unsolicited Birch Society mention in one day!!
I repost (from Wikipedia, the source of all knowledge):
Let us take a foray into the all-knowing Wikipedia regarding JBS:
"an American political advocacy group that supports anti-communism, limited government, a Constitutional Republic and personal freedom"
"seeks to limit governmental powers, and opposes wealth redistribution, and economic interventionism. It not only opposes practices it terms collectivism, Totalitarianism, and communism, but socialism and fascism as well"
"has an immigration reduction view on immigration reform. It opposes the United Nations, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA), the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), and other free trade agreements."
"The Southern Poverty Law Center lists the society as a 'Patriot' Group"
believed that "both the U.S. and Soviet governments are controlled by the same furtive conspiratorial cabal of internationalists, greedy bankers, and corrupt politicians"
"It has issued calls to "Bring Our Troops Home" in every conflict since its founding, including Vietnam"
I personally can't find a helluva lot I don't like about JBS. They were understandably anti-communist in the 60's, but still opposed the Vietnam War. I particularly like the statement regarding greedy bankers and corrupt politicians.
