An Army officer ordered a court-martial Friday for an intelligence analyst charged in the biggest leak of classified information in U.S. history. Military District of Washington commander Maj. Gen. Michael Linnington referred all charges against Pfc. Bradley Mnning to general court-martial.

Ah... the life of a hero.

He should be convicted of treason and then hanged.

Since when should it be a crime to expose war crimes and other official acts of treason to the light of day? Since when are the American people not entitled to know what their Government is doing in their name and at their expense? Manning and Assange are heroic figures for exposing Government crimes.

I submit Greenspan, Geithner (most don't realize he was a lifelong Rethuglican until joining Obama), Paulson, Rubin, Summers, and the Bush crime family are treasonous in spades. The Bush crime family is especially dangerous treasonous bastards, having conspired for three generations to overthrow Democracy, supply Hitler and the Ayatollah and Hussien with raw materials and weapons, trafficked in illegal weapons and crack cocaine. Clinton and Levitt should just get prison, since they apologized for their mistakes. The rest should be hanged.

The citizens need to court-martial the Army.

Manning is more of a hero than any of those murderers.

He's not guilty of any civilian crime - and no jury would convict him of anything because he delivered truth to light.

However, if the military internally convicts him of violating his duties they could kill him. That's a reality of military command and control - with cost/benefit including creating martyrs. At the same time, the Commander In Chief CIC (Obama) owns the whole thing during his POTUS term.

Manning is a perfect example of that situation for a CIC which extends to his control of the ranks. In other words OBAMA OWNS it and if he kills Manning or letting anything other than secluded comfortable accommodations be made for him Obama becomes a sadistic piece of shit in the public's eyes. Certainly he may not be "trusted" in military duty any more - yet isolation is torture too.

Thus IMHO manning represents a new sort of "military recruit" post the "don't ask don't tell" era. That's truth-in-management in CIC.

Like convict the guy if there's evidence. But then work WITH Manning in military application of his mind and social interfaces without torturing or antagonizing him - he grew up in the USA and would apply himself to an "untrustworthy" extent - but still a sort of slave labor during Obama's term. After that the next POTUS could continue based upon the conviction or pardon via CIC role.

Otherwise putting him in shackles and chains and continuing to apply gitmo torture to people fighting their personal best for truth and freedom will lead to destruction. It means Obama sucks how he manages 'torture' as though it doesn't matter. It does.

And this is quite "redeeming" to Manning for many in the public. NFW do normal people condone this human extermination without purpose. That's called genocide and makes that POTUS (Bush) a war criminal. Manning's lucky to have survived Bush - and if Obama lets him serve within military walls at least he'd not be doing more Bushwacking.

Collateral Murder

Manning should be court-martialed, period.

Exposing classified material in this way is treasonous, exposing our military's secrets to our enemies. If a soldier or governmental official has such a deep level of concern over something we are doing, there is a path for that that does not involve wholesale leaks of classified material. You go and talk to a reporter, who can then attempt to gain some access through FOIA. If that is unsuccessful (which it probably will be), then the media can at least raise the question with the public: "What is going on?"

To do what Manning did makes it impossible for our military to operate with necessary secrecy. We have to trust our leaders to do nasty jobs on our behalf; that is part of what they are there for. To take away one of their prime tools for doing so will bring about the end of our nation eventually.

It is absolutely true that abuses have gone on and are still going on. But to tell the enemy what we have militarily, where it is and what we plan to do with it is insane. We have to use our system to demand more accountability from our leaders, to make them worthier of the trust we have to have in them if the United States of America is to remain a going concern.

Mary, why would anybody demand more accountability from our leaders, if we don't know the atrocities they're committing? Without people like Manning, we're kept blissfully ignorant and the Feds are free to go on committing war crimes, unbeknownst to us.

That traitor should be in solitary at Leavenworth for the rest of his miserable life.

"But to tell the enemy what we have militarily, where it is and what we plan to do with it is insane."

It's beyond insanity. I've been told that a reporter on a submarine during a combat patrol in WWII revealed that the Japanese didn't set their depth charges low enough to endanger our subs. Soon after that we began losing subs. I don't know just how true it is and I've tried to research it but, if true, he should have been executed.
I agree with you entirely.

"Without people like Manning, we're kept blissfully ignorant..."

Good. The main objective with classified material is that the ENEMY is kept "blissfully ignorant." Doesn't bother me at all that you and the press are too.

Rather continue to show your ignorance people you need to look up and read the Uniform Code Of Military Justice (UCMJ) which all military members fall under/are subject to. This may aid you in providing an actual framework for your postings on this subject.

Truth is, Manning had alot of way he could have been a whisleblower. I myself have raised issues before using the chain of command and the Army's internal systems, attorneys, Inspector Generals. Truth is, Manning probably had many opportunities to uncover whatever it is he wanted to unbiased sources within the military community. He chose to do it the liberal way, which, by the way, is treason. The military is full of professionals and we act that way.

I hope he goes to prison for a long time..

I get it your military evil-minded command and control and military code want to torture this guy. But that won't work. The CIC isn't innocent here and at best may get a teaching out of it.

For example, if the CIC is allowing a torture-prison to exist under some bizarre circumstance (the public would not likely approve and would guillotine most CICs if it were to come out...), and some innocent recruit were cast into a role to torture others, the Nuremberg edict states that there are orders not to be followed.

Allowing collateral murder to be kept "secret" seems to many one such situation. You may not see it that way Diablo but if the CIC goes for it he'll gain the blowback from it too.

This filthy little shitstain should ride the lightening.

yet no justice for those crimes manning revealed

About fucking time.

None of that stuff he leaked was any of his business.

It's not his goddamn right to give any of it away.

I hope they hang this fucker as a deterent to other pussies that think they can give away our secrets.

The uglies are out in force with their preposterous shoot-him-first, try-him-later. Like Dan Ellsberg, Brad Manning is a bona fide American hero. We'll build statues of him in years to come. herm

Lotta hate from the usual suspects that would much rather Smirky the Wonder Chimp's war crimes would have remained a secret.

You whores are so transparent. You ALL still have your lips surgically attached the the Bush scrotum.

rwd the public POV, aka "the mob" is no pussy. Like there's the mob and then there's the MOB. fine - but if the CIC ignores the public who elected him while congress does the same... its a

National Discrace Against Amerika, NDAA what they've done as though the votes they got approved those lies.

Bwaahahaha, Manning is going to beaten and starved, held in solitary confinmaent and treated like garbage the rest of his life.

I love it.

Traitors get what they deserve.

No, that's Brady when Gisele has the curse.

Manning is gonna do more time than the guys involved in the Haditha massacre.

Sad but true.

Be Well.

What do you know about Haditha shitbag?

In a word,nada.

This was nothing more then a PR stunt by AQ which the media took hook line and sinker...just like you.

Also you got a link that shows Marcus Bachmann is gay?

Oh he looks gay and someone else said it first, good enough for you.

You slandered him twice on the other thread.

rwd

What do you know about the shitbags at Haditha?

More than you.

Also you got a link that shows Marcus Bachmann is gay?

They all do.

Marcus Bachmann is a closeted gay man.

The fact that he's a Republican who holds "pray the gay away" type sessions with his "troubled" clients tells Spud all he needs to know.

Do you really think he's straight?

Really?

Really really?

[notsureiftrollingorjuststupid ]

Be Well.

Good.

Regardless of what you think of the information released, he knew the consequences for his actions and chose to ignore them.

The Military does not fuck around with this shit. He will pay dearly for this, as he should.

#1 you don't know shit about Haditha.

#2 As far as Marcus Bachmann is concerned,I don't know and I don't care.
You on the other hand are making a unsubstantiated claim about him.
Like calling him a fag out of the corner of your mouth, hurtful, insensitive, tactless, inappropriate.
Post a link that shows he is gay.

I don't know and I don't care.

Of course not, you are a Republican.

Your inability to learn stuff is only exceeded by your inability to care about stuff.

That's actually the GOP's credo by this point.

That'll make this election interesting.

No, he will be judged by officers (and possibly some enlisted peers) under the UCMJ. I have sat on Courts-Martial during my years of service. Normally the jury is all officers unless he requests that peers {enlisted} be included. If he is smart he will stick with all officers as they actually tend to be more lenient in sentencing for an EM (enlisted man) then NCOs.

Really Newsworthy.

FTFY vern.

Without the proper context you're emphasis would have made anyone in the military an automatic accomplice in any crime commited by anyone appointed over them. NFW is that appropriate, especially after Nixon.

Manning released indisputable evidence of war crimes.

Manning released a copy of a Frago, which documents a war crime.

That frago ordered troops to not investigate or take heed of allegations of torture by iraqis and to hand over detainees to their power.

that is a war crime.

a nation may NOT hand over detainees if the detainee is to be tortured or there is a likelihood of the detainee being tortured

yet that CLEAR war crime is NOT punished

There is NO justice in America
