A 'million' moms can't compete with 3 million daily viewers. After J.C. Penney announced Ellen DeGeneres as the department store's new spokesperson last week, a conservative online organization launched a campaign to have her fired. Why? Because she's openly gay.

The One Million Momsorganization, an extension of the American Family Association, called on members to urge the company to rethink their decision. "Funny that J.C. Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families," reads the call to action on the group's website. "The majority of J.C. Penney shoppers will be offended and choose to no longer shop there."

Shopped at J.C. Penneys all my life, sure glad I will be able to continue to do so. The company was smart, Ellen has way more fans than those haters have members and they don't have one million moms.

Hey, let's talk about something different for a change like ... homosexuality and abortion and throw in some fairness to make it more appealing to the masses.

Campaign to have her fired because she's gay? What a waste of time. She'll eventually be fired because she's boring and annoying. Then she'll claim she was fired because she's gay on her own accord, thank you very much.

"Then she'll claim she was fired because she's gay on her own accord, thank you very much." Yeah, she hasn't been popular for decades, doesn't have a popular show, isn't loved by millions.

I realize because you're a lesbian so it's easy to mistake your own bias for the reality of the situation, but she's nothing. The fact is all of your statements should not be taken as sarcastic, because they are deadon correct. Ellen has always been a complete ratings failure. Her current show is placed in most markets at 4PM, a traditional dead zone for television, and the ratings show she regularly comes in behind what the competition is doing.

In fact, looking at last week's ratings, it appeared three times as many watched reruns of two and a half men than watched Ellen's show.

Funny how conservatives believe in capitalism until capitalism runs up against their hateful social agenda...THEN they want their say over a business's right to chose it's spokesperson.
