Pressured by anti-abortion groups, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation is ending its partnership with Planned Parenthood and will no longer provide grants to the organization to provide low-income women breast exams and mammogram referrals. Past grants have enabled Planned Parenthood to provide screenings for 170,000 women, said Dawn Laguens, an executive vice president with the organization. "Susan Komen would not give in to bullies or to fear," children's author Judy Blume said on Twitter. "Too bad the foundation bearing her name did."
