Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, February 01, 2012

A photo of a British rock climber shows the 26-year-old single mom ascending a cliff with her toddler daughter in a carrier on her back. Menna Pritchard is wearing a helmet but her daughter Ffion isn't. "There was no risk of any rock fall," Menna said. " I knew 100 percent it was safe ... I had a mountain climbing instructor there too and I'm pretty confident of my own competence." Pritchard is an outdoor enthusiast who writes about babywearing, taking a young child in a sling, on her blog. "I have been a fan of 'babywearing' since before Ffion was born, doing lots of research," she writes. "I probably bought her first carrier when I was around 6 months pregnant."

"Menna"? "Ffion"? Obviously the products of a long line of freewheelin', irresponsible hippies.

"Jethro?" "Clem?" Obviously the products of a long line of ignorant, trailer-dwelling meth-heads. See how that works, Mr. Chicken?

Chicken is right. People should have American names like Barack, Mitt and Newt.

If it's Larry Mohr
Those seal pups better watch out.

How can someone who joined in December know about Larry?

What are your other names, the ones you've obviously ruined with your own stupidity, Cowardongrill?

and dont forget Track Bristol Willow Piper Trig

"Chicken is right. People should have American names like Barack, Mitt and Newt....well Mitt and Newt anyway."

FTFY, LOL

Baby on board
How I've adored
That sign on my car's windowpane.
Bounce in my step,
Loaded with pep,
'Cause I'm drivin' in the carpool lane.
Call me a square,
Friend I don't care,
'Cause that little yellow sign can't be ignored.
I'm telling you it's mighty nice.
Each trip's a trip to paridise
With my baby on board.

"I knew 100 percent it was safe ..."

Famous last words. Right up there with "hold my beer and watch this".

If she's never been plonked on the head from falling rocks while climbing I question her experience. I see she remembered to bring her own helmet. Putting aside the inherent dangers of rock climbing (and danger is of course WHY we do it), I think the attachedatthehip syndrome of first-time mothers might be more harmful to both parties. This take-your-baby-everywhere routine looks like a good way to produce a spoiled brat and a clingy mother.

I caught the helmet, too. I couldn't help but notice the baby didn't have one, though. I guess their rubbery little noggins are immune to big chunks of falling rock....

Yes, but did you mean to agree with him?

Ditto. This stupidity gives responsible rock climbers a very, very bad image. And lemmie tell you - those people are fit, so please don't sully my dream athlete, Menna.

I'm not sure why a normal person would talk to any one on the left about the life of babies.

Maybe how its alright to kill them sure ,thats what they fought for decades for, to be able to kill them when ever they want.

....NOPE IN NOVEMBER.....

I wonder if that God-awful song about how "somebody left the gate open", screeched by that disgusting fucking dyke who "sings" it, was being played in the background as Menna ascended.

Ffion...isn't that a breed of dog? This clearly a case of child endangerment. And I don't mean the climbing...I mean the name.

"Ffion, or Ffïon, is a popular Welsh female name meaning "foxglove." It was the sixth most popular name for baby girls born in Wales in 2007."

Apparently "Menna Pritchard" is Welsh for "shit for brains"

Really? You actually expect Welsh people to go with "Danica"?

I've been watching the mundane Welsh television series Pobol y Cwm (People of the Valley) recently and can tell you for certain that you are probably right.

Glad to know I'm not the only person who heard that howling and wondered how it could possibly have been put in a commercial....dreadful.
