Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs
Wednesday, February 01, 2012

At a British publicity event for the movie The Muppets, Kermit and Miss Piggy commented on Fox Business host Eric Bolling's claim that the movie has a liberal agenda. Kermit asked, "If we have problems with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolls-Royce?" Miss Piggy added, "It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News of, you know, being news."

The film's villain is an oil baron named Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) who wants to destroy the Muppet studios in order to dig for oil.

Bill O'Reilly tells Miss Piggy the Muppets had "better watch it": www.huffingtonpost.com

The movie Cars2 is built on a similar premise.

An oil baron pretends to promote an alternative fuel but in reality, he has discovered the world's largest oil reserve and wants to publically make alternative fuel look bad so everyone will go back to oil.

You'd think those guys at Disney would at least try to hide their agenda.

"agenda"

Riiiggghhhtttt....

You a member of that Media (so called) Research Center?

If not you should be!

You forgot about Wall-E!!

Another "liberal agenda plot" to warp the minds of out children.

Muh ha ha ha ha ha ha hah!!!

Cant have them kids thinking too much. Give em Scrooge McDuck cartoons!

No, best not, That Scrooge McDuck reflects poorly on the 1%. All greedy and such.

-You a member of that Media (so called) Research Center?

no, but that makes 2 movies, for children, in a very tight schedule of time making one industry the villian.

My son is almost 4. He loves the movie....doesn't give a shit about the oil company though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitching about Disney...just observing.

You are observing what exists in your mind only.

A liberal agenda?!

DISNEY?!?!

GET REAL MAN!

And who really cares what the phuck a fat pig puppet thinks??

That is lucidrous---lol !!

O'Reilly responded in kind--'better watch it' and he was smiling when he said it. HufnPuf thinks he was serious!! --lol

It's just comical.

And for the record--every single Pixel and Disney movie has a liberal agenda of global warming and the environment and or save the penguins, the forest, the animals. And it's the evil people who are destroying everything.

Nothing to see here.

Just one puppet spoofing on another puppet.

"Muh ha ha ha ha ha ha hah!!!"

You're right, I don't care what you think.

P.S., Newt is moot.

"every single Pixel and Disney movie has a liberal agenda of global warming and the environment and or save the penguins, the forest, the animals."

Well, that explains the "Toy Story" movies. Great catch, Smurph.

My son is almost 4. He loves the movie....doesn't give a shit about the oil company though.

so, it's you polluting and corrupting your own kid; lest the neighbors' too.

It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News of, you know, being news."

Oh Snap!

Spud to RW propagandist shills everywhere:

Don't try to fuck with the Muppets, man.

It's no win.

Like Pat Robertson and Tinkie Winkie's purse you'll just become a meme illustrating pants-on-head retardation.

Forewarned, all that.

Be Well.

I find the Muppets and Cars messages to be too complicated for my brain, therefore they are evil.

---teatards----

"...every Pixel and Disney movie has a liberal agenda of global warming and environment and or save the penguins, the forest, the animals. And it's the evil people who destroy everything." Proving again that not even Disney is all bad. herm

Reality and morals tend to have a liberal slant.

Frank Oz hasn't done Ms Piggy in years. This is an imposter =P

Maybe they took a lesson from that nogood Canadian puke that writes Doonsberry - true-dough. A liberal hate mongering assbag if I ever seen one.

"You'd think those guys at Disney would at least try to hide their agenda."

Why, the fossil fuel industry hasn't tried to hide theirs.

Doonesbury is the Cadillac of comic strips. TRUth with a capital TRU. Ya gotta love it. herm

Please...this deserve a story why?

Because Fox thinks this is NEWS!

Damn liberals have been trying to promote socialism for decades-what western didn't have an evil cattle baron or heartless railroad tycoon? And pirates? D'ya think the captains RENTED them pirate ships? You never hear of evil serf John kidnapping the beautiful Princess, but make him nobility or royalty, and he's all over it. And her.

Geez, FOX lighten up-it's hard to afford evil minions to do your bidding when you're only making minimum wage yourself.

HufnPuf thinks he was serious!! -- #8 | Posted by MURPHY

I don't think anyone thought O'Reilly was seriously threatening the Muppets, Murph.

hate mongering assbag if I ever seen one.

Could have just laughed it off, but no. And so the Muppets go out of their way to make Fox's point for them.

Interesting business model.

It's ironic that the puppet character of Miss Piggy has for years been portayed as a fat, lazy, self absorbed, entiitled, victim of circustance that thinks that it's/her opinion is the only one that should count or be heard.....reminds me of Rosie Odonell.

Interesting business model.

It's called free publicity.

The movie Cars2 is built on a similar premise.

The one with all the good ol' NASCAR boys in it? Damn redneck liberals.

Miss piggy would be surprised how many on here take her seriously.

CNN and MSNBC need to hire Miss Piggy as an anchor as they are flagging so badly just about anyone new would be a vast improvement. Also, Miss Piggy would be just about right for the IQ of the few viewers they have left.

Which make it all the worse. That goddamn hate monger should have his citizenship looked into just like little barry.

Redial: He's from New York, you idiot.

Lawls.

Ya know, even if Spud deliberately set out to create a RW persona to inhabit this blog for trolling purposes and in order to make RWers look bad, even if Spud tried very hard to make that character as dumb, racist, ignorant and wrong as possible Spud's creation no matter how much effort put in, could not possibly hold a candle to the awesome 110% derp-posts that flow effortlessly from POB's PC.

So...

*golf clap*

Be Well.

37% of all Fox viewers think Miss Piggy has a pretty mouth.

from just above...

Festering Boil...what an appropriately repulsive name for an
appropriately repulsive individual...

p.s. yeah, I went there...

p.p.s. You Tea Baggers really, really, really...
need a new fricking hobby...

THE MUPPETS RULE FOREVER!! lol...

---Miss Piggy---

Really makes the Muppets unwatchable for me. Always has.

"And for the record--every single Pixel and Disney movie has a liberal agenda of global warming and the environment and or save the penguins, the forest, the animals. And it's the evil people who are destroying everything."

Fuckin' brilliant.

PixAR.

And gee, The Incredibles? Monsters, Inc.? Finding Nemo (oh, well, there is that tanker)? Ratatouille? Up (an edge, I can grant you that)? Stick to politics, Murph. You know nothing about Pixar and its movies. (You can accuse Hayao Miyazaki of having an environmental comment in pretty much every movie, but Pixar is only his distributor.)

And btw, Wall-E is blatantly environmental, but has much more to it than that. And it is a beautiful film to boot. And smart. How many movies get away with 30 minutes of no dialogue? The storytelling is pure excellence (at least for the first act). And again, btw, even if you were right, what the fuck is wrong with making a movie that points out flaws in human behavior and relies on that concept to create villains? Be careful, you might turn into a liberal movie critic talking about how Arabs are the only brown people who can still be cast as villains. I'll have to get the Media Education Foundation to hire you...

Thank you dungstud and earmush. I must have hit upon a truth that you bung felchers hate to admit. I called out that unAmerican prick doonsberry and that other NON-American hussein barry and you little whelps can't stand the truth.
