In a private meeting that wasn't put on his calendar, President Barack Obama met Friday evening at the White House with former President George H. W. Bush and his son, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. The Bushes are in town to attend the annual Alfalfa Club dinner, a private gathering of 200 politicians and business leaders that President Obama also is expected to attend. "The three men enjoyed a personal visit in the Oval Office -- as they have done on previous occasions when President Bush is Washington," the White House said in a statement.

Alfalfa club? O-tay!

"In a private meeting that wasn't put on his calendar..."

Goodness. President Obama does things that are not on the calendar?

Yes its scheduled for April 31st

Alfalfa Club? Personally I'm a Three Stooges fan but the Little Rascals had their moments

Man...even for a staged pic, that one looks UNcomfortable. H looks like he shat his pants. Jeb looks like he's thinking about that "sweeeeet drive" off of Sawgrass #6 last week. And O...he's either thinking "when in the hell are these crackers getting out of my office?" or he's doing his Renee Zellweger imitation.

Missing mother "This accomodation is better than he's used to".

Missing other son, in the next room, still looking for WMD.

Anyone else notice that Papa Bush is in a wheelchair? I wonder how long he's got?

He should served the Bushes with a subpoena or had them arrested...

Danni

Anyone else notice that Papa Bush is in a wheelchair? I wonder how long he's got?

He went skydiving on his 75th, 80th and 85th birthdays.

He is 87. I hope I look that good at 57.

The Presidents tutors.

Jeb Bush has also played a critical role in the GOP presidential primary contest in Florida -- primarily by saying he wouldn't play a role. His endorsement would have been key in the race, currently neck and neck between Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, but Jeb Bush said last week that he would remain neutral.

As an establishment GOPher Jeb shoulda been all over a Rmoney endorsement.

That he's not doing so will fuel the rumor mill speculation on Jeb taking part in a floor fight in the (hopefully) brokered convention to come.

Meh, no doubt the GOP will get all their little Pavlovian ducks in a row and firmly behind Mittens before that in a last ditch hold-yer-nose 'Anyone But Obama' crusade but it's still fun to think about.

Be Well.

The headline would have read better had slick Willy still been president.

"Bill Clinton meets bushes at the white house"...cigars all around!

OHHH, I thought that Obama had gotten stoned and fallen in the rose bushes. My bad.

When it all comes down, it is a very special club. We the masses and the people don't know the half of what goes on, just as it was in King George's time in England. We're there for the purpose of paying our duties and taxes and not influencing government.

When it all comes down, it is a very special club.

Especially when you consider there's only 5 members in it. PBS had something on about the Presidents. Apparently the sitting President actually talks to the others regularly about policy (and what a dork Dubya was).

When asked what the men discussed and why it wasn't on the schedule, the White House released a statement saying, “The three men enjoyed a personal visit in the Oval Office â€" as they have done on previous occasions when President Bush is Washington.”
I'm thinking they drop by to give effusive thanks for the Obama Administration's unwillingness to prosecute GWB for war crimes.

Jeb? What the fuck. There is no more Democracy.

I'm thinking they drop by to give effusive thanks for the Obama Administration's unwillingness to prosecute GWB for war crimes.

If they were ever afraid that was a possibility, then sure.

What's the statute of limitations on torture and mass murder?

Be Well.

"What a fuckin' mess you left!"

Try realism.

Try realism.

Wha?

Okay...

Meh, not bad.

Not sure what it has to do with Spud's point.

Cos if you are suggesting that Spud is somehow unaware that George Bush will go to grave without ever having seen any real consequences for his initiation of mass torture as an accepted tool of statecraft and a war sold on deliberate lies in which hundreds of thousands lost their lives and millions their livelihoods then you mighta missed it.

That noted, Pointillists and Impressionists had their moments too.

Be Well.
