BEIRUT (AP) -- Fresh violence erupted Friday in the besieged Syrian city of Homs, a day after armed forces loyal to President Bashar Assad barraged residential buildings with mortars and machine-gun fire, killing at least 30 people including a family of women and children, activists said Friday.

"I wonder why we're not bombing them yet. "

We only bomb for threatened but not yet realized massacres. Once the massacre begins... we are out.

Where is that humanitarian, Obama? Any lefties out there that could supply a rational answer?

So if Obama were to intervene you would support it, right? Because otherwise your post is stupid.

Do you think we should be bombing Syria?

Personally no, but then again I didn't support it in Libya either.

If Obama were to be consistent, yes, we should be bombing them.

You see, what Nullandvoid and yourself seem to be missing is that Obama claimed we intervened in Libya for "humanitarian" reasons. We were there to prevent a threatened massacre.

Now, if he is not bombing Syria during a real massacre... it lends to the point that Obama lied about the humanitarian reasoning and we were not there simply to prevent a threatened massacre.

Couldn't come up with a rational answer. Anyone else besides NullAndAvoidance like to try?

How about you Starveus; sometimes in your more sober moments, you come up with something bordering on a thumbnail of logic.

Excellent observation, Exps; NullAndVoid obviously is having difficulties with his synapses this afternoon.

"I wonder why we're not bombing them yet. "

Republicans love the Syrians too much. Syria was an great ally in Herbie's Mission To Save Saudistan's Gold Toilets and Dubya outsourced a lot of torture to the Assad family.

We need to stay out! Have we learned nothing from Libya?

Middle East, more than any other place, personifies the Who lyric: Meet the new boss; same as the old boss.

"If Obama were to be consistent, yes, we should be bombing them."

Spend some time reading up on material grounded in the concepts of "realpolitik," "national interests," and "political realism" and then get back in with those of us who live in a world where adults attempt to exercise some influence and control.

You might find Hans Morgenthau's Politics Among Nations perhaps somewhat dated but still of interest.

"We need to stay out! Have we learned nothing from Libya?"

Can we just admit that we were lied to about Libya? Had nothing to do with saving lives. Obama originally wanted nothing to do with it. The Euros shamed Hillary and Obama into it. They were worried about their oil. "Preventing a massacred" doesn't explain why we helped our Al-Queda loving 'allies' conquer territory.

Oh... so it was about influence and control... not humanitarian aid and preventing massacres of innocent people...

Thanks for making the obvious... well... obvious. If only Obama was aware.

"If only Obama was aware."

He was aware and sent some non descript ferry which took a few days to get americans out. He wanted nothing to do with Libya and led by following. Why anyone wants to claim he did nothing more than stay out of the way is laughable...

Dubya also played nice with Gaydaffy, and yet that didn't stop Obama from bombing them into the stone age.

Also, Republicans aren't leading the military right now. You do know the CinC has a 'D' after his name, right?

In short, your answer was retarded.

"Oh... so it was about"

Lots of stuff, plenty of factors, obviously waaaay beyond your pay grade and comprehension level.

Seriously, stick to the Romper Room blogs; even the DR seems to be too much of a challenge for you at this stage.

Come on, Doc, how about some real repartee instead of the usual obfuscation and deflection. Put down your bong and say with me "I can do this; I can do this."

Doggone, got to apologize again to you, doc. I remember you don't do the bong thing. Just pry the "ripple" out of your hand and let those fat fingers fly.

We need to stay the hell out of Syria
