Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

It was a wish list, not a to-do list.

President Barack Obama laid out an array of plans in his State of the Union speech as if his hands weren't so tied by political realities. There can be little more than wishful thinking behind his call to end oil industry subsidies -- something he could not get through a Democratic Congress, much less today's divided Congress, much less in this election year.

If you have been saying the same thing for 3 years, it is proof positive that you haven't been doing anything for those 3 years about the things you were talking about.

The only thing that was new was Michelle Obama's $2,000 dress.

Great video. The RNC got it right that time. I'll bet we see that in the campaign

Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend. Borrow. Print. Spend.

That about sums it up.

Republicans only have fresh new ideas. None of them have ever let us down. None of them are responsible for our current "situation"

FACT CHECK: Obama pushes plans that flopped before

Obama is pushing for deregulation and cutting taxes for the rich?

#7 nice!

That is comical... using the "Obama is no different than the republicans who messed everything up and have let us down in the past" defense.

Isn't that the opposite of what Obama was supposed to be?

You were brainwashed. Face it.

Obama is pushing for deregulation and cutting taxes for the rich?

He already cut taxes for the rich, and deregulated the oversite practices in regard to selecting which green energy companies to support... so yes, he is.

2 things.

First, no waterboarding saved nobody and word of it's implementation as a tool of statecraft actually imperiled American lives by giving the extremists another recruiting tool and additional motivation.

Professionals have determined that waterboarding is great at producing intel but that it's lousy at producing good intel.

All of the good info that was obtained was done using methods of interrogation approved by the MCOJ.

And Solyndra?

Sure, look at the one green company that failed and focus on it like it's the whole story instead of a selectively parsed detail to embroider a BS narrative.

That's bright.

In point of fact, overall Obama's green energy initiatives are a winner and necessary to the future prosperity and long term survival of the United States.

Get your head out of the RW media gutter.

Be Well.

LOL that was to another poster for another thread.

FAIL!

*hangs head in shame*

Need coffee.

Be Well.

Waterboarding isn't tourture because our intention isn't to kill them, just want to scare them into thinking they're going to die. Ignoring the fact that scared and hurting people say whatever you want to hear after a certain amount of stress and time.

That's what the first part of the last post was addressing.

The Solyndra point still stands though.

Be Well.

Unfortunately the rules for determining companies were deregulated in Solyndra's case. It was made clear that the normal procedures were not followed as strong urging not to approve the company was dismissed.

That was the main point. Did you miss it? Yes.

Does my point still stand? Yes.

Obama has killed American citizens without a trial, cut taxes for the rich, and deregulated on occasion.

Own it.

Spud's main point is that your point is highly selective.

Did Solyndra fail? Yes.

Do start up businesses occasionally fail? Yes?

Was Solyndra a mere 2% of a total green energy package the majority of which are doing well? Yes.

Did the admin push too hard to get Solyndra up and running? Maybe.

FOX seems to think so but those fuckers thought Obama was a sekret Muslin too so their track record with the truth aint that great.

Critics have seized on the news of Solyndra's bankruptcy to condemn the Department of Energy's Loan Guarantee Program, which provided a $535 million loan guarantee in 2009. The National Review's Greg Pollowitz writes that Solyndra's failure shows "why the government should not play venture capitalist." Yet the fact is that, when judged by its entire diverse portfolio of investments, the LGP has performed remarkably well. Indeed, with a capitalization of just $4 billion, DOE has committed or closed $37.8 billion in loan guarantees for 36 innovative clean energy projects. The Solyndra case represents less than 2% of total loan commitments made by DOE, and will be easily covered by a capitalization of eight to ten times larger than any ultimate losses expected following the bankruptcy proceedings.

Pretending that 2% investment is typical of the whole project is disingenuous to the point of being propaganda.

Be Well.

Obama may have reiterated some ideas that the Republicans have rejected in the past, that's what he's been doing the past few months and the American people are listening. Sometimes it takes repitition to convince enough people to create momentum, Republicans know this, they have repeated lies for thirty years that trickle down economics would bring jobs and prosperity, finally Americans have had enough but it took them a mighty long time to figure out that talking point repitition really doesn't create facts.

Funny, Obama was pushing plans that have been failing since first published in 1848.

Also, interestingly enough, his speech writers cleverly dumbed it down for the average voter.

Catering to useful idiots

And Solyndra?

He is engaging in crony capitalism to the nth degree. Solyndra and all other green energy scams, as they currently exist, suck ass. Raping the taxpayer to prop up these absurdities actually hinders the development of renewable "clean" (sic) energy. Setting aside Article 1, Section 8 for a moment (the Constitution doesn't exist anymore, so why bother) it would be one thing to fund R&D to try and develop viable and competitive alternate energy. But instead, we'd rather funnel taxpayer dollars toward shitty technologies.

Leftists are an interesting bunch. They whine that corporations are running this country. They pretend to be offended at crony capitalism when in fact they applaud crony capitalism as long as they like the industries that are being awarded other people's hard-earned money by force.

Just like the government initiatives to create the internet were a scam?

And for the record, lefties aren't "anti-corporate".

/That's a big a lie as the left wing media crap.

We are merely "pro-fair".

Be Well.

We are merely "pro-fair".

Pro fair?

You mean like raping the taxpayer to the tune of $7500 if they purchase a government motors Chevy Volt?

How is that fair to non-electric (the Volt isn't a true electric car BTW) competitors?

It's called brainwashing. At least your mind is "clean" now that it has been washed.
